PoliticsRe: It Is Less Likely For Buhari To Be Defeated In 2019, Says US Institute Peace by Davidchibex(m): 4:39pm On Nov 04, 2018
kahal29:
The United States Institute of Peace (USIP) says it is less likely for President Muhammadu Buhari to be defeated in the 2019 election.

The organaisation said this in a report it released on the forthcoming general election.

USIP said the report is based on its interactions with Nigerians from different sectors.

The report, which analysed the chances of violence marring the elections, is contrary to two recent predictions by The Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), the research unit of The Economist Magazine, that the incumbent government will be unseated next year.

USIP said though many Nigerians feel that the current administration has not met their expectations, this is not likely to cost the All Progressives Congress (APC) government its hold on power.

“Many Nigerians feel their hopes have not been met. Some respondents suggest the electorate is sufficiently disappointed that voter apathy will be greater in 2019 than in 2015, with the unifying narrative of change that helped elect the APC in 2015 much less compelling as a factor in mobilizing the electorate, and perceptions that another defeat of the presidential incumbent is less likely to happen in 2019,” the report read.

Comparing the 2015 elections to the forthcoming one, the report said there is a greater chance of the occurrence of election violence, listing Adamawa, Anambra, Ekiti, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Plateau, Rivers as the eight of 36 states with greater risks of election violence.

While it stated that it is up to the combined efforts of political parties, security agencies and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to curb violence in the election, it said the greater work lies with the electoral body.

“Important shifts in Nigeria’s political and security context have occurred since the 2015 elections, presenting both evolving, and new, risks to the 2019 elections,” it read.

“Of all the state’s institutions, most respondents felt that peaceful elections in 2019 are contingent on the performance of Nigeria’s INEC.

“Given the relative success of the 2015 elections, they felt that INEC ought to be able to deliver credible elections again in 2019. They feared, however, that any regression from the level of performance achieved in 2015 could lead to violence because some would view the failings not as a result of incompetence but as deliberate attempts to frustrate the will of the voters.

“INEC should at least match the standards it set in 2015, and any regression could set the stage for violence.”

The report further said despite the projections of violence, “there are signs of hope”.

“Yet, while the potential for election violence exists, there are signs of hope. Some states have developed successful election conflict-mitigation practices. In the short amount of time remaining, INEC and the police should undertake a number of key reforms,” it said.

“ The United States, along with other international supporters of the electoral process, should also intensify their efforts to reinforce the work of these key Nigerian institutions.

“Beyond institutional support, rather than apply a conventional approach to electoral violence mitigation, donor programming should adapt to Nigeria’s current context, political shifts, and opportunities, and be sufficiently flexible to respond to the risks distinct in each of Nigeria’s states.

“In advance of the election, international diplomatic efforts to preempt electoral violence need to be intensified. Regional and international actors should convey their expectations that political parties effectively address their internal disputes, and be ready to put on notice politicians responsible for escalating these disputes.”

PoliticsAtiku Will Reduce Fuel Price To N87 Per Litre:PDP. by Davidchibex(op): 9:52pm On Nov 01, 2018
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has said that its Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, had worked out a pricing template that could immediately crash the pump price of fuel in the country.
He said that the engagements had shown that the appropriate pump price of fuel in the Nigerian market should be within the borders of N87 to N90 per liter as against the N145 currently being charged.
According to Ologbondiyan, PDP completely rejects increase of the official prices of diesel and kerosene, saying such will bring more economic pressure on the nation.
He said that most businesses and homes across the country heavily depended on the products for sustenance.
Ologbondiyan said, with the current price template of crude oil in the international market, the All Progressives Congress administration had no justification to keep the pump price of fuel at N145 per liter.
He alleged that for every N145 paid for a liter of fuel, a hidden N58, which Nigerians have continued to pay since the fuel price was increased from N87 to presumably subsidized cost of N145, was being diverted.
Ologbondiyan urged Nigerians not to despair as Atiku had already worked out a blueprint that would ensure appropriate pricing template and free resources to guarantee availability of product on a national pricing regime.(NAN)

Politics2019:why Buhari Remains The Most Creadible Option For Nigeria.CSO. by Davidchibex(op): 4:38pm On Nov 01, 2018
The New Initiative For Credible Leadership (NICreL) on Thursday adjudged President Muhammadu Buhari as the most credible option among other candidates contesting for the presidential seat in the 2019 general elections.
The Executive Director of NICreL, a Civil Society Organisation (CSO), Rev. Samson Onwu, said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja.
Onwu, who observed that President Buhari had lived up to expectations of Nigerians since assuming office in 2015, said the group arrived at the conclusion after a critical analysis of other presidential candidates.
He highlighted some of the achievements of the president to include increase in foreign reserve, completion of abandoned projects as well as improved security architecture of the country.
While also noting that Buhari, who is the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was also rated ahead of other contenders because of his selflessness, the executive director said other presidential candidates were only in the race for personal interests.
”Having appraised all the candidates and carefully analysed their different abilities vis a vis their various stints at public office, we have reached the conclusion that none of them is a better option than President Muhammadu Buhari, judging by antecedents, performance and character.
Time For Hard Measures To End Killings
”To appreciate this view, it is important that we take a look at where we were as a nation in 2015 and where we are now.
”The insecurity in the country was so pronounced that it was basically the major issue in the presidential campaign of that year.
”Fourteen local governments, about the size of Belgium, were already under Boko Haram control with flags hoisted as their territory in the North- East, then.
”Boko Haram attacks were common occurrences, even in the Federal Capital Territory FCT.
”The foreign reserves dwindled tremendously from a whopping $48b in 2007 to as low as $29b dollars in 2015, despite the fact that oil was sold at unprecedented high prices, sometimes even as high as $147 per barrel.
”Yet, there were no savings but a depletion of the existing saving. That was the kind of economy and government that was handed over to the Buhari administration,” he explained.
He said in the past, abandoned projects littered everywhere but with the coming of the current government, abandoned projects were being completed.
Onwu said while past governments derived pleasure from looting the treasury, Buhari out of his patriotic zeal introduced measures to block all the loopholes.
”This was one of the major actions that got us out of a recession,” he said.
He, therefore, called on the electorate to vote massively for the Buhari candidacy in 2019.

America And Its People Belongs To Jesus, Same Sex Marriage Has No Place In America – USA President, Donald Trump Declares.

According to report the United state has signed an order to restrain American people from marrying same sex saying its an evil act and against God.

The USA President has declared that America and its people belongs to God.

This however has not been received well with celebrities, politicians and other influential figures who are charging that Donald Trump is violating peoples rights.

His critics who have been painting him that he is not normal say he has gone to the extreme of tempering with people’s rights.

Other sets of influential artist’s like Rihhana, Beyonce, Lady Gaga,Jay-z and Snoop Dog, have described the order as useless.

Donald Trump is one of the richest American President who has delivered on many of his campaign promises such as fighting gay marriages, putting American people first in all employment sector and also directed that only 15% of aid must go to African countries because they don’t know how to manage resources.

Politics2019:i'm Learning "Shaku Shaku"dance For Campaign 2019.Osibanjo. by Davidchibex(op): 10:48am On Oct 30, 2018
- Osinbajo had said he was learning the 'shaku shaku’ dance steps for campaigns ahead of the 2019 general elections
The vice presidential candidate of the People Democratic Party (PDP) and former governor of Anambra state, Peter Obi, has reacted to a comment attributed to Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo, saying he was learning how to dance the popular 'shaku shaku' dance.
Reacting to Osinbajo's comment on Monday, October 29, Obi who was returning from a trip to Dubai, said for Atiku team it is about, “spending our time with the best minds on how to start creating jobs and putting food on people’s table.”
“However, why I am not against people dancing or learning how to dance 'shaku shaku,' as I believe it is one of those things that is keeping our people going on in this very difficult times, I believe that the crossroads that we have found ourselves in as a nation requires sober reflection.
“For me in particular, this period calls for sober reflection not dancing or learning how to dance as there are many challenges facing our nation at the moment, not the least being recently having our country named the world headquarters of extreme poverty with over eighty seven million people.
“Worse still millions more are losing their jobs, with four million by the third quarter of this year alone.
“Millions of Nigerians go to bed hungry not knowing where the meal for the next day will come from, hundreds of thousands risk death by crossing the Sahara and the Mediterranean Sea to wherever they can make a living.
“These and other challenges are indicative of the dire straits facing us as a nation today. And these are what we on the Atiku team are spending our time with the best minds on how to start creating jobs and putting food on people’s table.”
Osinbajo had on Sunday, October 28, in Abuja, jocularly said he was learning the 'shaku shaku’ dance steps for campaigns ahead of the 2019 general elections.
'Shaku Shaku’ is a popular and contemporary dance style common among young Nigerians.
Osinbajo, who was the chairman and special guest of honour at a book launch, said his friend recently polled large number of votes just by dancing.
'Nobody can stop Buhari in 2019, Atiku cannot win.
PoliticsRe: 3000 PDP Members Decamp To APC In Ortom's LGA In Benue by Davidchibex(m): 12:56pm On Oct 28, 2018
aminulive:
@POLITICSNGR

The All Progressives Congress in Benue says 3,000 supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have defected to APC in Guma, the local government area of governor Samuel Ortom.

James Ornguga, APC’s acting state publicity secretary, made this known to newsmen on Saturday in Makurdi.

He said: “We read a comical statement from the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, Mr Terver Akase, wherein he alleged that our party had organized the IDPs for distribution of relief materials and ended up tagging same as a “campaign rally”.

“This accusation is too infantile to have emanated from the spokesperson of a sitting governor but since we are used to the many lies of the Ortom administration in close to four years, the APC can at most describe the action as shameful and a display of immaturity from a panicky government.”

According to the statement, Benue APC on Friday organised a defection ceremony at Daudu, Guma where a former speaker of the state, Stephen Tsav, and over 3,000 PDP members from Nyiev, Mbagwen and Mbawa defected to APC.

He said: “Everyone who witnessed that event would be forced to commiserate with the Benue State Governor since it marked the end of PDP in Guma, his home local government.

“Rather than mourn this gross deflation of the PDP in one of its strongholds in Benue, Governor Samuel Ortom’s image maker has opted to ridicule himself with careless words that clearly expose the governor’s insomnia over this gathering.”

And in your rètardéd way of reasoning a collapse of a country is not linked to its currency as well?

When a country has a very strong currency or deliberately devalues its currency due to its strenght as a nation would they country still collapse?

When a country is already weakened and its currency follows , then would you have a collapse.

This is a one two step in economics. Stop spewing nonsense. You are not smart by half
I understand you are yet to get rid of your milky brain.
A collapsed nation have little or nothing to do with it's currency.Mr Right,so all this Killings,Looting and debts are not enough to collapse a nation to your understanding?
Can debts devalue the state of currency in a nation?
No way,and that's what Mr Obi means. If you trying to be smart, don't misquote any analyst after reading an article.
Let me still give you an insight,China as the most populous country in the world are presently facing corruption and it is rapidly affecting their nation.
There can never be a 24 hours without an unexpected running up and down in China.
One can easily say that China as a nation is collapsing but then,1000 Chinese Yuan is still equals to #52,278.11k.
Does that affect their currency in any way?
Just like Wisdom have nothing to do with age,Nation collapsing in regards to debts as Mr Obi said have nothing to do with collapsing or devalueing the state of currency.

Infrastructure is composed of public and private physical improvements such as roads, bridges, tunnels, water supply, sewers, electrical grids, and telecommunications (including Internet connectivity and broadband speeds). - On his part, Atiku Abubakar submitted all relevant documents including his educational records and tax returns
President Muhammadu Buhari has again failed to attach necessary supporting documents needed from candidates vying for the presidency in the 2019 general elections.
According to Punch, the president informed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that his credentials were in the custody of the military.
Legit.ng gathers that the credentials of the various presidential candidates’ were made available to journalists on Thursday, October 25.
However, Buhari is said to have submitted an affidavit, which he swore to.
He stated: “I am the above named person and the deponent of this affidavit herein. All my academic qualification documents as filled in my presidential form, APC/001/2015 are currently with the secretary of the military board as of the time of this affidavit.”
On his part, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, reportedly submitted all relevant documents, with a Diploma in Law in 1969 from the Ahmadu Bello University being his highest qualification.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that President Muhammadu Buhari said he is the only one contesting for the presidency in 2019 in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The president made the comment during an interactive session with the Nigerian community in the United States.
He reportedly stated: “I am the only one contesting for presidency in APC, those who wanted to contest against me left for other parties, but I will meet them there.”
