A stunning 52.3 percent of the registered voters in Kogi West Senatorial District want their Senator, Dino Melaye, recalled from the Senate. That percentage represents 188,588 of the 360,098 registered voters in the senatorial district. The collation of signatures of voters which was undertaken over five days ended on June 17. The information was disclosed by Pius Kolawole, a special adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) announced on Monday. Mr. Kolawole, who was speaking to party members from the district, commended the voters for turning out in good numbers for the collation, pointing out that Section 69 of the 1999 constitution authorized their decision. “In 2015, we voted for Dino and now we are using the same method to return him home,” he said. Giving a breakdown of the collation, the Returning Officer, Adamu Yusuf, said that in terms of the seven local governments in the district, the following numbers of registered voters are in favor of the recall: 18,374 of the 35,331 in Yagba East; 9,186, of the 18,356 in Mopa-Muro local government; 24,703 of the 46,810 in Yagba West; 63,736 of the 116,296 in Lokoja Local Government; 24,283 of the 46,819 in Ijumu Local Government; 28,277 of the 60,520 in Kabba/Bunu Local Government; and 24,703 of the 46,810 in Kogi Local Government. He disclosed that collation will be submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission, for the next step in the recall process. http://saharareporters.com/2017/06/19/523-percent-kogi-west-voters-want-senator-dino-melaye-recalled

broseme:I wonder why bloggers should be scouring people's Twitter and Facebook feeds for pictures of accident to post on Nairaland. And how does this relate to politics? |
Thumbs up EFCC. If the only thing you can do for now is to freeze and recover, please keep on doing it, since courts have refused to convict these rogues "based on technicalities". |
tttttpp:I'll be glad if you can send it to my email da |
By their fruits we shall know them. This is most likely one of those seminary-trained, head-knowledge clerics without a single iota of true fear of God. |
MrSinister:I advise you not to take this thing lightly. The message is a personal one to you. Don't take chances. |
Way yo go. But what if money exchanges hands and the judiciary refuse to convict any of them. Just a simple error from the prosecution and the judge will throw it out "due to technicalities". Ask Saraki. |
Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magu, has enjoined the Federal Government to establish a maximum prison in the dreaded Sambisa Forest specially for corrupt people. A statement said the EFCC boss made the call when he received the media team of the National Committee of Buhari Support Groups (NCBSG) who paid him a courtesy visit yesterday in Abuja. According to him, the move would further give vent to the anti-corruption crusade of the President Muhammadu Buhari administration. The nation’s chief graft buster noted that the facility, if established, would go a long way in cutting off indicted people from their comfort zones. He observed that the thieving privileged citizens, while in Kirikiri Maximum Prison in Lagos, still go about their businesses unfettered. Magu lamented that Nigerians were poorer than citizens of many nations of the world despite her enormous resources. He lauded the presidency for not interfering with the activities of the commission amid its daunting challenges. He pleaded with Nigerians to support Buhari in his quest to reposition the nation on the path of growth and development. Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Otunba Biodun Ajiboye, said their visit was to feel the pulse of the EFCC helmsman on the midterm scorecard of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government at the centre. http://omojuwa.com/2017/06/fg-build-maximum-prison-corrupt-people-sambisa-forest-magu/

akpamuomenka:I don't intend to sound judgmental, but are you a Chosen member? |
Is that the mewest instruction their babalawo gave them? Trust politicians at your own peril. |
@Elbinawi Why then are the Muslims so antagonistic towards the Christians? Why is there a jihad declared against Christians in many countries? |
OLAADEGBU:There are many ways people use the name of The Lord in vain, even committed Christians, without knowing. Some of the most common nowadays are: 'there's God o', 'God's watching you o' (jocularly), 'blood of God' etc. Haba... For common sense sake, try replacing your father's name in the stead of God and see how disrespectful you'll feel towards your father. But, here we are talking about God! Unfortunately, many Christians are ignorant of the grievous sins they're committing when they do this. |
AdemolaA2:I'm interested. My email address: d......@gmail.com |
Scriptwriters are really making a fortune out of these people's baseless ultimatum and counter-ultimatum... Abeg, hire me; I'm available |
Pednak:I will prefer you send to my email add: dxxxxxxxatgmail.com. Thank you |

Many times, witches and wizards would start confessing their evil deeds days before he arrived their village. |
lordMac80 I advise you not to go that way of destruction many are already prodding you to take. You've heard of the sudden death of people like Tupac, Michael Jaxkson, politicians and even non-celebrities here in Nigeria? This is what caused it. Now or later, there's no way it's not going to involve blood ritual - either your family member or someone kidnapped for you. If you take your time to allow patience prevail for a little longer, an opportunity will surface. I can tell you this because I'm currently holding on too. Don't get wealth that will be a source of guilt on you every night. |

Hahahaha...can't stop laughing |
Nice |
elhafeez:I wonder why Ihejirika couldn't do something about this during his stint as COAS. That would have made a lot of change. |
saintkash:I don't agree with that reasoning. Every region has landmass. I know naval bases are in Lagos, but that is not enough. Why can't Enugu or Rivers have Naval institution, training or production headquarters too? The latest military commissionings have all been north. |
I'm tempted to be happy with this development. Farmers have been ripping Nigerians by the throats because they want to make the same gains they make from importing Europe - from Nigerians. If this will force them to bring back the rejected stuffs and begin selling at sane prices, so be it! |
