Literature5 Things You Need To Know Before Dating A Writer by davidica(op): 2:10am On Jun 26, 2018
Whether a best-selling author, a blog writer or even just a newspaper journalist, dating a writer can be frustrating.
From their messy moods to weird sense of style, writers can be a handful.
Here are the top 5 things to expect after saying yes to a writer:
1. Get ready for the arguments;
There is nothing a writer enjoys more than picking your brains out. Finding a way to disagree is a hobby for them. But don't always misunderstand this -- it is not really you but them. As chronic consumers of information, the writer is only trying to be absolutely sure there is nothing else left in you they could feed on.
2. Get ready to sleep alone;
That same time you wrap yourself in the warmth of the sheets to pass into the obliviousness of sleep is the same time a writer's inner demons awaken.
From werewolves, zombies to vampires, writers harbor them all. And once a writer's beast awakens, he/she must feed it!
3. Get ready for the pessimism;
Even when all roads appear to lead to an easy success, the ever judicious writer is able to pin down that one very tiny loophole that ordinary eyes are not able to see!
4. Get used to the constants 'nos':
Nobody says no as easily as a writer. They are not afraid of you or society, so saying yes just to please you is never an option.
5. Get ready to inspire a story;
Of course you can't tell a writer what to do. You can't tell them not to put you in their next story or essay. But don't worry as this is more of an honor than anything else.
In a world filled with normal people, being chosen as a source of inspiration by a writer is a thing of pride.
***
Beside all of these, nonetheless, writers could be one of the best set of people to date.
They are honest, faithful, and are rarely dumb!
And they are loaded with lots of exciting things to keep you eccentrically entertained every moment of your life.

I wish I could cry out so loud
I wish I could shed the tears
not the tears of pain, agony and sorrow
but the tears of joy

my life is full of ups and down
and I wish there will be a miraculous turn around
I look ahead towards the future and see it shinning bright
but unfortunately the future's taking long to shine its light
I walk different paths every day
maybe one will lead to the way of success
I detest that nigga
who prophesy saying I will be great
he said I will be famous than the devil himself
he made me had my hope up
made me held my chin up
I pray anytime he picks the mic up
he will choke on his words
or he should just wake up in the morning, picks the knife up and stab himself
I will just sit and laugh at him
cus he didn't have the chance to prophesy
against himself
he didn't see it coming
that he will one day kill himself

I remember my nigga - - Don samscope
he said dreams sometimes console
I wanna ask him, Dawg what about the wet one'shuh
because these days I sleep with my pillow wet
soaked with tears and sweats
like life's hard even when you sleep
even when you dream
my pity to the new comers
who think life is sweet like chocolates, vanilla and cream
future is taking so long to come

it makes my hope decreases and my fears increases
my fear that the future is here, yet am still talking bout the future
still spitting what I wanna be in the future
it's scare me
I never have enough to give my children when I have em
my greatest fear is the feeling of hate emanating from my kids towards me
that I failed em
that I didn't have enough to give em
like am too broke to support em
it's eats me deep inside
it kills me inside and out
that's why am here seeking you out
ooh tears of joy, where are thou
I wanna shed thee

this is for the youths out there

the kings and queens of this era

life is not all about cigarettes, codeine and weed
not about drinking, partying and back home to sleep
life is more serious than what we think it is
it may look beautiful, but unfortunately it is the
opposite of paradise

it house pain, agony and sorrow

misfortune, sadness and bitterness

I want you to be wise enough to skip through it

I want you to know life's a slut and karma is a bitch
life's tough and wicked

it wants you to eat it sour pussy

and taste its bitterness before you taste its sweetness
after going through all that
karma will come knocking on your door
reminding you of your mistakes
using your own words to taunt and hurt you
that's why you need to tread careful
that's why we all need to be prayerful to that nigga up there
so we can all shed the tears of joy

Please nairalanders rate these lines

I wonder if you ever did care

Wonder if you ever wonder how I fare

This isn't fair

I always thought you will always be there

Holding my hands, walking the same path,

Sitting under the moonlight and counting the stars

But I guessed it was just a wish

Till I watched you dissappear

You promised to love me forever

But deep down that wasn't what you wanted

You weren't in love with our love

You never wanted us

No, there wasn't a us

We were just two people

Walking in the shadow of love

In my eyes you were like a dove

Flawless, regardless of how naughty you could be

I was aimlessly in love

In love with what we could be

Always thought we could be a Bonnie and Clyde thing

Or maybe have a Romeo and Juliet flirt

Though I knew you were full of excuses and deceit

Then you left

I finally realized your were just a cover

To fill an empty space

I wasn't in love with you

I was in lust

Yet i was in love with the feeling of lust
BusinessWhat Will Keep Your Small Business Thriving by davidica(op): 2:33am On Aug 06, 2017
A Gallop survey revealed that optimism amongst small business owners has been quite high for the past eight years and the percentage of company expecting revenues to double over the next 12 months rose from 48% to 58%. But what exactly is responsible for the fresh air of optimism brewing so much confidence for these small and medium scale entrepreneurs? It definitely has to do with some trends that have been hidden from plain sight.
As a result, this development provides an additional reason to start considering your dreams and ideas that have been kept away for too long. If you’re already in business, here are some pointers that will help you thrive:
The Right Motivation
A popular consensus on why most entrepreneurs kicked off business ownership is the poor satisfaction with their regular 9 – 5 jobs, which was no longer fulfilling for them coupled with the economic recession that has led to the downsizing of many organisations. While being dissatisfied maybe the nudge that entrepreneurs need to start their own businesses, most of the small business owners thriving today are following their passion not the money. Successful entrepreneurs are seldom motivated exclusively by money and are still able to attain wealth because they believe in what they are doing and infuse personal values into how they build their business. Starting a business to add value and not just money, will also help you make better long term business decisions.
The Right Age
Although the 45 – 65 year bracket is still the most popular age bracket for entrepreneurs, there has been a significant increase in entrepreneurs who fall within the ages of 30-39 and below. Starting a business as early as possible has unique benefits because the owners are better suited to bear the potential risk of failure and it enables one to reap the rewards of success longer. As a young entrepreneur, you have the energy and motivation to run a business but these decline as you grow older. You are also more adaptable to situations which implies you can build many businesses in your 20s and 30s. So, if your first business venture fails, that experience allows you to bounce back faster and to launch a better business plan.
The Right Type of Business
Besides being passionate about a particular line of business, it is important not to get swayed by just what you have a passion for. Pay attention to the type of business that will thrive in a certain economic clime. It is foolhardy to think selling winter boots in Ibadan will thrive however fashionable it may be. Of course, there are many entrepreneurs willing to take the leap in starting their own business from ground zero but have you considered
purchasing an existing business or franchise ? Although taking over an existing business has its challenges, it also has some encouraging benefits such as having an established brand, customer-base, and a direct cash flow. You may want to try this option since this groundwork has been laid out for you, while you just focus on growth instead.
The Right Fundraising Technique
While some business owners still rely on the traditional methods of raising funds such as loans, credit facilities or equity, crowdfunding
has made it possible to test your business idea in advance. It is a great alternative financing option to explore for the growth of your business. It helps you to achieve two things – secure terms for free funds except for equity funding and a large group of early adopters. Crowdfunding platforms such as Kickstarter and IndieGoGo, also provide electronic payments directly from their websites. The basic principle of this method funding is to offer a pre-sale of your goods and services to your target market. When the money has been pledged, it is your responsibility to ensure that the products or services are delivered. Asides raising capital, entrepreneurs are exploring crowdfunding as a beta-testing mechanism to validate their products before further investment in product development.
The Right Marketing Scheme
Many business owners tend to feel a bit skeptical about segmenting their market because they think their different market segments are too small to be broken into market units. But many entrepreneurs thriving in the small and medium scale industry understand that no business is too small to stand on its own, having a brand identity. Mrs. Ajayi who runs a dry-cleaning business, manufactures washing agents and toiletries such as hand wash, air fresheners and disinfectants and also offers office-cleaning services. Instead of relying on the ‘one-size-fits-all’ messaging and branding, she segmented each arm of the business into different market units even though they are all related. Segmentation is basically reaching the right customers through the right message at the right time by using information such as location, product interest, communication channels and so on.
The Right Startup Method
Every startup has its own peculiarities but more small businesses are breaking out because entrepreneurs are embracing the Lean Startup method. According to Eric Leis, the lean startup method focuses on using easy-to-execute strategies in order to make more informed, less costly decisions. By using technology to automate daily, repetitive tasks, small business owners can remain lean when building their business because they don’t have to invest greatly in large office spaces since the workforce is still minimal or get caught up in ambiguous expenses.
A striking feature about most of the entrepreneurs launching out today is the demographic; a majority of today’s small business owners are millennials!
As the biggest demographic segment of the African population, many small businesses are thriving because a large number of their CEOs are subject-matter experts. Millennials are driven, chase their passion, and are also able to learn fast and adapt quickly. They know how to network online and understand the power of affiliations.
These opportunities however, are not only available to millennials, but for any individual who is willing to apply the right set of elements in the entrepreneurship revolution happening in Africa and across the world.

Romance5 Reasons Homosexuality Should Not Be A Crime by davidica(op): 2:24am On Aug 06, 2017
Recently the Nigerian news feed is saturated with stories of the arrest and arraignment of 40 gay 'suspects' .
Much worse than the fact that this is happening at a time when gay people in other countries are not only allowed to marry but are holding public offices too, is the celebratory air many Nigerians are sharing the story with.
Like saying, "Oh wow, finally it feels good to be Nigerian again. Kudos to our laws and government, we are now safe and happy because 40 gay persons were arrested by the police! All our problems are solved, praise God!"
It is quite ironic that it was a president under which one of the greatest amount of looting in Nigeria's history occurred that signed the bill criminalizing homosexuality.
Since the same-sex prohibition law came into effect in 2014, I can’t yet pinpoint one form of progress it has brought to Nigeria. We are still battling with unemployment, poor infrastructure, electricity issues and the rest of them.
Here are top 5 arguments against homosexuality that makes no sense:
1. "Homosexuality is a choice"
If this is true, that means we are all either gay or straight, and are capable of easily switching attractions to suit our needs. You and I know that this isn't at all true. You can’t say that homosexuality is a choice any more than you can say that heterosexuality is a choice.
Besides, even if homosexuality were to be a choice, we cannot still discriminate against homosexuals simply because they “choose” to be homosexual either, just the same way we can't start discriminating against people who chose a—particular religion over the other.
2. "Homosexuality is condemned in the Bible"
Really? The Bible says lots of other horrible things too. The Bible says that you can execute people for cheating on their spouses (Leviticus 20:10), but you wouldn’t do this, because you know that in a civilized democracy a person does not deserve to be executed for cheating.
The Bible also says that you can keep slaves (Exodus 21:2-6), but you wouldn’t do this either, because you know that slavery is an abomination.
Pork, tattoos, rounded haircuts and women speaking in church—name them—
were also prohibited in the Bible.
If these things aren’t right just because they are taught in the Bible, condemning homosexuals (Leviticus 18:22, 20:13) isn’t right just because it is taught in the Bible, either.
Does it really make sense to pick one and leave out the rest?
3. "Homosexuality is wrong because it is unnatural"
Something is not just right just because it is natural, or wrong just because it is unnatural.
Clearly, rape and murder are a part of human nature, but we don’t say that these things are right, because they harm people; similarly, airplanes and computers are unnatural, but nobody goes around protesting against them, because they make our lives easier. So, no, homosexuality is not wrong just because it is unnatural.
Besides, the claim that homosexuality is unnatural is probably wrong anyway. In 2008, researchers at the Karolinska Institutet in Sweden showed that the
amygdalae [a section of the brain that play a key role in the processing of emotions] of lesbians function differently from the amygdalae of straight women, while the amygdalae of homosexual men function differently from the amygdalae of heterosexual men.
And in 1991, Simon LeVay showed that a region of the hypothalamus called INAH3 was more than two times bigger in heterosexual males than in homosexual males (and females). In both cases, researchers have suggested that the characteristics of homosexual brains were probably a product of inherent biology, and not environmental influences.
Also, homosexuality is found in many species and throughout human cultures and history . So, no, it is probably not true that homosexuality is unnatural.
4. “Same-sex marriage is wrong because homosexuals do not procreate.”
True. Homosexuals do not procreate. Neither do sterile couples; couples in which the woman is post-menopausal; couples in which the woman has been
hysterectomized; couples who choose to adopt rather than procreate; or couples who simply choose not to have children.
Perhaps we should ban marriage for all of these people, too, and if a couple does not produce children within an allotted number of years, their marriage will be automatically annulled. Obviously, this is ridiculous—not to mention socially damaging—and we agree that all of these people should be allowed to marry even if they do not procreate. This is because marriage is also about love, and not just making babies. It follows, then, that homosexuals should be allowed to marry each other because they love each other, too.
Besides, homosexuals can have children. In a world verging on 8 billion humans, the human species is hardly under threat of extinction, so making more people isn’t exactly a pressing need.
What is a pressing need, however, is to find caretakers for all of the children abandoned by their heterosexual parents. Thank goodness, then, for homosexual couples, who can take care of these children because they don’t already have their hands full with their own screaming brood.
If homosexuals were legally allowed to marry and adopt, this would mean a higher number of legally protected family units headed by loving, committed couples, which, in turn, could only lead to a happier, more stable and cohesive society.
So, no, gay marriage is not wrong just because homosexuals do not procreate.
5. "Giving gay people freedom will turn everybody gay."
Laughable. Sexual orientation is not something that can be flipped. There were times in the past when homosexuals were subjected to all forms of treatments , yet none of them ever worked.
Unless that person is really gay, no amount of persuasion will turn a straight person gay. Bear in mind though that sexuality is not binary. People can also be pansexual, bisexual or just curious.
Also, having a same-sex encounter does not necessarily prove someone is gay.

FamilyThe Role Of Fantasy In Relationships Part 1 by davidica(op): 11:01pm On Jul 10, 2017
Relationships; at some point in our lives we’ve all imagined or fantasised about being in a relationship but do we actually understand what role fantasy should play in a relationship as opposed to when it’s getting unhealthy or even out of control?
Sometimes fantasy can develop into a block to our ability to relate or an obsession that dominates our lives. Let’s break it down for you!
All relationships begin with fantasy, fantasies of who the other is, what they will be in our lives and fantasies about ourselves, who we are and what we will mean to the other in this relationship.
Most of us understand that most good relationships involve sharing - sharing of the labour, the kids, the worry and bad times and the good times too, but we often do not share with partners our fantasies of who they are or of how the relationship is going to turn out.
Relationships can get complicated, be it at the beginning, middle or end. These complications are often caused by either partner having a different expectation or fantasy about what the other person should be like, how they should treat them or what the relationship should be like, as well as its future.
What can cause people to live in a fantasy relationship?
Not only do all relationships start off with some fantasy, they can also tend to be pretty intense. Heck, for some people the fantasy starts during the “crush’ stage where boy likes girl or girl likes boy or two boys or two girls like each other but haven’t yet declared their feelings.
The idea of this person being “the one” or the excitement of having someone like us can send us into a cloud of fantasy because well, we feel happy and excited for the future. Especially if other aspects of our lives like our studies, work etc are pretty boring at the time, it’s really appealing to drift off and imagine what we’d rather be doing.
And it can be a nice and healthy feeling. It’s better to know that someone is excited at the thought of holding hands with you than knowing that person is nonchalant or unfazed about being your boo, right?
But once that buzz has worn off, reality starts to kick in. The fantasy we started off with about the other person now needs to be replaced with some real sense of who they are.

EducationTips On Attaining Academic Excellence by davidica(op): 10:46am On Jul 08, 2017
Excellence simply means greatness. It is a quality of being outstanding; it is not a trait, hence it cannot be inherited. People who are excellent are mostly admired or envied without people spending time to think about why and how they were excellentAs a student, to achieve academic excellence is not a child’s play. There are prices that need to be paid as there is no success without sacrifice- you either dillydally now and regret later or struggle now and enjoy later. Academic excellence entails taking the extra mile to achieve the set goals, avoiding any distractions and being on the tracks till one get to the finishing line. Scholars as fondly called do not jump down from heaven neither do they have bigger heads and wider brains.
It only take being serious, focus, determine and dedicated since nothing good come with ease, anything good comes with sweat.
From experience, it has been observed that those who attain greatness or reach their peak academically, start from somewhere i.e doing one thing or the other, therefore the following tips; the standard of which is relative and not absolute are suggested for those who have ever looked at the achievements of others and thought “wow, if only I can do that”.
* Discover yourself: if you are the type that read and assimilate in the daylight don’t copy a friend that read at night as a night class without any knowledge gain is a total waste of time and effort. Discover when, where and how best you assimilate when reading and don’t walk in another man’s shoe. While some do best reading at the library, some prefer their room depending on individual difference.
Also, use SWOT analysis to discover your strength and weakness as well as opportunity and threat in your immediate environment. If you always perform well in calculation course- that’s your strength, capitalize on it to have the best grade in it and as much as possible and minimize your weaknesses in other courses since everything will be cumulated together. “UNLEASH THE GENIUS IN YOU”
* Set a SMART goal or objective: SMART here means setting objective that is specific, measureable, attainable, realistic and time bound. Objective is the ends at which all effort are directed, without which there will be no direction. Having discovered who you are as a student, the next is to set a realistic objective that is achievable within a specific period of time.
Being one of the best in the class, having minimum of B’s or minimum of 3.5GP at the end of a session are some of the examples of objective to be aimed for student who want to achieve excellence in their respected field of study. “All successful people have a goal. No one can get anywhere unless he knows where he wants to go and what he wants to be or do” (Norman Vincent Peale)
* Planning: having an achievable objective is not enough, you have to follow it diligently and work towards the achievement of the set objective. Planning here entails putting all necessary things in place to make sure your aim/s is/are achieve. Robin Sieger said and I quote
“Planning is as natural to the process of success as its absence is to the process of failure”.
Attend classes and make sure proper note is taken in the class to ensure that you flow with what is being taught in class. Also, hook up with those who are the best in your department or field and make worthy friends- “show me your friend and I will tell you who you are”. The choice of friend to move with is very important as it go a long way in determining ones performance. Having a good relationship with lecturers is also a plan towards achieving ones goal as they give advice, share experience and guide a student when he/she needs to be guided.
* Be prayerful: the essence of prayer can never be over emphasise in achieving academic excellence. Student who had faced missing script or had so many irrational scores like 39,49 or 69 in a single semester will understand the importance of prayer even more. Be prayerful and never exclude GOD in your pursuit of greatness as success truly and solely comes from HIM. Remember the grace and mercy of God surpass every other thing so seek for it through obedience and faithfulness and these undoubtedly will brings knowledge, understanding, wisdom and guidance.
* Control: Control is important whether or not you meet your target. If you meet the target, the control is to ensure you maintain it. If you didn’t, the control is to figure out the causes and tackle it.
On this note, I wish to end saying the action you take and even those you refuse to take while in school will eventually add up to help you become a successful graduate or a struggling one

HealthWhat The Color Of Your Period Says About Your Health by davidica(op): 10:06am On Jul 07, 2017
Having your period is totally normal—but that doesn’t mean there’s such a thing as a “normal period.”
Which is to say that the way your menstrual blood looks can change from month to month and at certain times during your cycle. It also means that no two women’s flows are identical.
Your period can tell you a lot about your health.
In fact, last year the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists published a report recommending that it be viewed as a vital sign the same way your blood pressure, p ulse, and temperature are.
Why?
Because in addition to telling you whether you're pregnant or not, your period can provide key insights into your hormone health—and your hormones keep everything from your brain to your reproductive system running smoothly.
“In the beginning, [menstrual] blood tends to be bright red in color, and as it comes to an end, appear brown or black,” obstetrician-gynecologist Sherry Ross says.
While what's normal for one woman may not be normal for another, there are a few changes you should watch out for, particularly when it comes to the color of your flow.
Below are 6 things your period blood is trying to tell you about your health:
1. If it’s pinkish
You may have low estrogen levels. Especially if it's accompanied by a lighter-than-usual flow, or if you're an avid runner, says New York-based functional medicine nurse practitioner Margaret Romero.
Studies have found that excessive exercise can lower estrogen levels , which can subsequently mess with your period, sometimes causing it to disappear altogether. (It's not uncommon for female professional athletes to stop ovulating.)
While this may not seem like a big deal (who hasn't fantasized about never having to deal with a period at least once or twice?), low estrogen levels can increase your risk of osteoporosis if left untreated.
So if you've recently started training for a marathon, have started working out for the first time in your life, or have upped the intensity of your workouts and you notice that your periods are suddenly lighter in color and flow or less frequent, talk to your doctor.
Romero says other potential culprits of a pinkish flow can include poor nutrition, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), or perimenopause, which is when your ovaries start producing less estrogen in preparation for menopause (generally, it occurs around four to five years before menopause).
2. If it's watery-looking…
You may have a nutritional deficiency.
Ob-gyn Alyssa Dweck, MD, assistant clinical professor at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, says that a white-ish, diluted flow can be a symptom of severe anemia, especially if you notice your period getting lighter and lighter when it would ordinarily get a bit heavier.
If, after monitoring your period for two or three cycles, you're worried that this could be the case, talk to your doctor about getting tested for nutritional deficiencies.
To make matters a little more confusing, an iron deficiency might instead be caused by heavy periods. ( A 2014 Finnish study that examined 236 women with heavy periods found that 27% were iron deficient and 60% were severely anemic.)
If you bleed through pads or tampons in less than an hour, wake up at night to change your pads or tampons several times, or regularly feel tired and foggy, it can't hurt to get your iron level checked.
3. If it’s dark brown…
You may have older bits of uterine lining and blood that are just now making their way out of your body.
But don't panic: This is normal. "We’re not sure why this happens in all cases, but sometimes the blood is sitting around for a while and comes out particularly slowly," Dweck says. "It has a lot of time to oxidize, which is why it can look brown or almost black."
Just make sure you see your ob-gyn if you experience a heavy flow or severe cramps accompanied by a fever.
Everyone will shed her uterine lining at a different rate (like snowflakes, each period is unique), but for the most part, seeing some dark brown blood at the beginning of your period or toward the end of it is nothing to worry about.
4. If it’s a thick jam-colored red with large clots…
You may have low progesterone levels and high estrogen levels. While some clotting is normal, says Dweck, clots the size of a quarter or larger can indicate a serious hormonal imbalance.
Romero recommends reducing your consumption of dairy, soy, and sugar and seeing if that makes a difference.
Uterine fibroids are another possibility. They're most often benign, but they can be painful, so if you suspect they're behind your heavy, clot-filled periods, ask your doctor for an ultrasound.
5. If it's a mix of gray and red…
You may have an infection, such as an STD/STI. You'll probably also experience a really "foul, necrotic stench," Dweck says. Get tested so you can get the right treatment.
Women who miscarry sometimes notice gray chunks of tissue that look like "liver," Dweck says, so if you think there's a possibility that you're pregnant or having a miscarriage, call your doctor ASAP.
6. If it’s a bright, cranberry red…
You may have a healthy, regular period. Again, everybody's "normal" will look different, but generally speaking, a consistently bright red flow that looks a little like cranberry juice is a signal that everything is working as it should.

Please why do Nigerian robbers always look so Haggard?
Nt All,some Are Handsome And Good Looking But After Been Arrested They Look Rough And Unkept Bcus Nigerian Police Doesnt Investigate And Interrogate, they Only Use Force And Torture, even If Were Just A Suspect.
To Them A Suspect Is Also A Criminal
