I had a chat with my husband yesterday on this issue.
The common denominator these 2 women have is that they were not just pastors wives but had powerful ministries of their own,ministries a lot more widely known than their husband churches.
I began to wonder if it's a good thing for women to venture out in these sort of missions on their own.
Could the "jealousy factor" be a cause in their marital collapse or abuse.

Probably not a jealousy factor. The last thing on my mind would be jealousy if my wife had a thriving ministry. The big issue here is the amount or lack of quality time. Marriage is like a farm, if you cultivate it you will reap bountifully, if you leave it fallow weeds will grow.

These women spend so much time in the "vineyard of God" that it is a miracle that they even get to sleep with their husbands more than once a yr!

So many people are "married to the WORD" that they forget that they actually married someone on a saturday at the altar. Being married to Jesus is the most important aspect of our lives but at the same time we must realise that the same Jesus instituted marriage and charged us to love our wives as much as HE loves the church. He died for the church - that should give you an idea of how much He expects you to love ur spouse.

@ topic, there's no point being sad that so-called "children of God" are now divorcing. I know of several christian couples who are living in marital bondage but wont break up because it is "unchristian". To spend countless hours in the "Service of God" to the neglect of our primary constituency (marriage) will not score us brownie points with God.

Too much prayer, fasting and bible reading that we forget that our partners have emotional and physical needs. What a pity!
I will NEVER consider being a pastor neither will i marry someone who is actively "working in the Lord's vineyard", i wouldnt want my story to end this way.

I have but one puzzle that you may wish to clear up for me. Why are atheists so tied up in knots about proving the non-existence of the christian God? Is anyone going to hassle the muslims and tell them allah does not exist? Or is it perhaps for fear of the fact that an attempt to do that would be simply saying goodbye to everything above your neck?
