I think there should be a very solid explanation to this and I would ask why the preference? And why is such not extended to other car dealers?

We complain of our leaders cheating us, what is happening here appears similar, except there is a good justification for it

You should be the one who should "try to follow the story very well". Air Peace never stated that they shifted to Dubai in their letter. Rather, they stopped operations during the pandemic and on resumption the UAE started this rubbish.

We've two versions

Sir, Air Peace has never been given slots at the Dubai International Airport. Slot availability was used to deny us operating from that popular airport as it was our first choice.
It was the politics of slot unavailability that did not allow us to operate into Dubai Airport directly. The lack of flight slot angle forced us to approach the Sharjah Airport as a last resort. We were welcomed by the government and people of Sharjah.

While we were denied slots in their most important airport, the Dubai Airport, Emirates has always enjoyed red carpet treatment in Nigeria where they were given our most important airports- Lagos and Abuja where they operate a total of 21 flights weekly!

We only asked for three flights weekly at the Sharjah Airport and we got same and started operations on the 5th of July, 2019 until Covid-19 lockdowns in 2020. Contrary to the letter, Air Peace never ceased operating from Sharjah International Airport since we started in July 2019.
We only stopped when every other airline was forced to stop normal scheduled flight operations as a result of the Covid-19 lockdowns that permitted only evacuation flights.[/b]

We now have two versions

Air Peace says it black
The head of the Civil Aviation Authority in UAE says it's White

During Repatriation, I guess Air Peace landed in Dubai to pick Nigerians home. This may be what the UAE man is referring to.

The man that wrote the letter is the head of all Airports in UAE and just as our NCAA here monitors all landing and take off at all Airports in Nigeria, the man does same in UAE.

I'm I am doing local travel, it's Air Peace or Arik for me. I don't want stories.

But when traveling abroad, it's either Emirates, Virgin, Qatar or Turkish Airline.

Air Peace started with Sharjah before the pandemic.

At some point, they started using Dubai, by abandoning Sharjah. While they left, Sharjah allocated slots to other airlines.

Air peace returned and Sharjah says, while you're away, things have changed. Take one here and take two in other locations.

Air Peace rejected and reported to Minister and NCAA. The Minister chose to stand with Air Peace, hence retaliated.

That's the Genesis

Like the example of the car I gave, total cost including 'bribing' etc is ₦5.3m. But similar cars on Jiji starts from ₦6.5m.

Assuming we bought to sell, ₦5.7m to ₦6m would not be bad for a car that cost ₦5.3m

Selling price in business means cost price plus profit margin.

10 to 20% profit is what's added to the cost price, which is more than enough. But most dealers (not only car sales) now capitalize to make close to 50%.

Look at the soaring gas prices. I consult in that industry. If I tell you the profit that gas sellers make on selling 12.5kg gas now, you'll be shocked. Guess what, they'll all come out to tell you, it's the government and that their profit is small blablabla.

It's just business and taking advantage of the system

Nigeria has been ridden roughshod by virtually every country and multinational corporations partly because of the bad name some characters have given us as well as complicity by our government in accepting whatever was thrown at us for so many years.
Small countries with better and stronger foreign diplomacy cannot be trampled by an airline like we've been done by Emirates since prior to coronavirus.
How I wish the government can start putting this sort of pressure on all these indians and Lebanese companies maltreating Nigerians and not just flights because that's all that affects them

UAE has better transportation infrastructure and good buses that can take people from one Emirate to the other
