NwaAmaikpe:

I am very upset with Olamide,
He claims he is the King of the streets, he is Eyan Mayweather, he is Baddoo.
Yet he can't go to Ikorodu and stop the violence in the streets by the Baddoo guys. If there's anyone they will listen to; it is him.
How are these guys even role models... It's on record that N.W.A, 2Pac, Nas and even Fugees started or ended violence in a given region through their songs lol |

Not broke girls, but cheap girls that crash to people's DM or throw themselves at men. They're the ones this man is talking about.
The ladies who would be told to open their skirt in order for the customers to open accounts in their banks |

santity100: Yellow card is different from medical examination.
Yellow card is compulsory for all short and long stay visas while medical is not needed for short stay visa unless they contact you to provide maybe due to old age or something.
Medical examination is what you do at IOM and the yellow card is what you get at the federal health facility close the lagos airport.
You were going for conference and you were mentioning medicals at IOM. Thats the reason why i mentioned you should check their website for the business visitor visa checklist You missed the first part. I'm going for biometrics and I asked if I should get the yellow card first before going or after Visa grant, one can get it. My passport has been disvirgined by UK, Japan, UAE and schengen prior to now |

santity100: Old man, you see you are now mixing it up.
You dont need medical examination for your class of visa. That's why I asked for input. Now you'll understand if I knew all, I wouldn't have asked question. Let other people respond. FYI, those going for this conference were advise directly from AU to get yellow card. So who should we believe? |

santity100: You are going for conference, why are you here
Most of the people here are going for study visa in a university or college.
Why cant you go to Australia Immigration website and read the requirements for your visa.
They even have a checklist for you to determine all the requirements for your visa class when you input all your info.
For the IOM, why cant you input IOM Lagos into google and you will get their website and download the requirements. Young man easy. There's no dedicated thread for people on Australian visit apart from those of you trying to school there. I don't intend to school but go there, spend 5 days and return back to my family. Wetin I wan read again? I'm an old man na. Yes, I'm fully prepared as regards documentations and also know where to go. Just want contributions and sharing of experience with others |

Solitin40: However, the location for obtaining the vaccination and issuing the Yellow Fever card has changed. The location is Ministry of Health, Port Health Office, beside the Toll Gate. If you are coming from Mafoluku Oshodi axis, turn right into the toll gate. The building is immediately after the toll gate. You should see the sign post.
The procedure is also very simple and straightforward. You will need a photocopy of your Passport Biodata page and N1000. You have to go in person as proxy processing is not permitted. 1. Enter your name, Passport Number and Telephone Number in the Register provided. 2. Submit the photocopy of your Passport biodata page and N1000 to the receiving Nurses. 3. Wait on the queue for inoculation. 4. Get inoculated. 5. Collect your Yellow Card.
As expected, there are touts around the premises waiting for gullible people to fleece. Don't fall victim. The process is simple and easy. It takes less than 5 minutes. God will bless you. Is it the one adjacent to Caleb and beside Federal Road safety Emergency? Before you turn to 7up, is it that one opposite CMD road? |

baralatie: true referendum is not in the constitution so also restructuring is not in the constitution! so I don't see restructuring as an answer! the one way is to identify key issues within the constitution that affect the governance structure of Nigeria. For example, the dividend principle can be applied to state and local government funding.whereby a percentage sum is deducted and paid back to the primary source of income to include the local government of source. another issue will be the clear definition of what exactly is federal character and infrastructural policy etc This is correct. I think what we need is basically fairness and equity. The restructuring should define WTH is meant by Federal Character. Will the National wealth be redistributed based on landmass, population or contribution to the wealth? If Lagos is given 90% of VAT or Tax, then Lagos should get about 20% or 25% of such If Akwa Ibom gives $30milliin dollars from oil explored, Akwa ibom Should get 20-25% income from what was explored from them. But my issue is with the corrupt governors. With the present 13%, they still steal from the people. If you now increase, they have more to steal. Our issues are complicated. We need divine intervention. But agitation or war is not the solution. |

Politics › Nigeria Can Be Restructured But No Referendum Can Be Conducted by davodyguy(op): 8:24am On Jun 28, 2017 |
Even country or entity is governed by set of rules, either imposed on them by founding fathers or the ones they set for themselves. The rules are contained in what is called a constitution. By definition Constitution is a body of fundamental principles or established precedents according to which a state or other organization is acknowledged to be governed. HOW POWERFUL IS THE CONSTITUTIONThe Constitution of Nigeria is the supreme law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. This means no other law can be used to govern Nigeria, except the 1999 constitution. The 1999 constitution restored democratic rule to Nigeria, and remains in force till today, 28/6/17. In January 2011, two amendments of the 1999 constitution were signed by President Goodluck Jonathan, the first modifications since the document came into use in 1999.WHAT DOES THE 1999 CONSTITUTION SAY ABOUT REFERENDUM? For whatever reason, there is no provision for referendum in the constitution, hence we cannot conduct referendum in Nigeria. Sometime in 2014, the debate was laid to rest during the confab, as Victor Ogene (APGA-Anambra), the Deputy Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Media and Public Affairs, made this known at news conference in Abuja He said there is no provision in the 1999 constitution for referendum. He said that the only document legislators are statutorily bound to invoke and act upon was the constitution. “The only document we swore to uphold is the constitution. For any section to be altered, you need two third majority of both chambers of the National Assembly and two third of state assemblies.“Unless this is done, the issue of referendum will not sail through, as there is nothing on referendum before the House,’’ he said. President Goodluck Jonathan had mentioned, while inaugurating the National Conference, that the National Assembly was considering introducing referendum to the Nigerian constitution.
For those who want a referendum, you must first push an amendment of the 1999 constitution. The first page of the constitution reads as quoted below Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999
We the people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
Having firmly and solemnly resolve, to live in unity and harmony as one indivisible and indissoluble sovereign nation under God, dedicated to the promotion of inter-African solidarity, world peace, international co-operation and understanding
Chapter I General Provisions Part I Federal Republic of Nigeria
1. (1) This Constitution is supreme and its provisions shall have binding force on the authorities and persons throughout the Federal Republic of Nigeria. (2) The Federal Republic of Nigeria shall not be governed, nor shall any persons or group of persons take control of the Government of Nigeria or any part thereof, except in accordance with the provisions of this Constitution. (3) If any other law is inconsistent with the provisions of this Constitution, this Constitution shall prevail, and that other law shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, be void. See section 1 or chapter 1, subsection 3 is very clear. That is why no other currency can be accepted apart from the Naira. This is what was used during the Civil war as a tactics. Whether it is Yoruba currency, Ipob currency or Arewa currency, non shall be a legal tender expect the Naira. We should champion restructuring, rather than a futile effort in championing referendum |
