Car Talk › Re: How Often Do You Use Your Hand Brake? by davodyguy: 7:04am On May 09, 2017 |
Mstalba: As for me when driving an automatic transmission car, i barely make use of it. But when am driving a manual car, i tend to make use of it especially when am about to drive over a hilly place to avoid the car from moving backward. I really will like to know how often you use your hand brake and under what circumstance. Chai. You probably learned how to drive through a mechanic and not a proper driving instructor Failure to use the hand brake, puts so much pressure on the gear, especially on sloppy ground. I correct my drivers most times that the gear is not the hand brake. The hand brake is to prevent the car from moving forward or backwards in a spot. i.e when you're not moving the car or you're on same spot or about to park the car, the work of the hand brake is to make the car remain in that position and not move. Many olodos use gear 1 on manual transmission cars. Just make sure your hand brake is good |

lekkie073: politics has no laid down rules... so wrong. What happened to ideology? In American, the republicans are conservatives and anti change. The Democratic party are progressives. These two separate parties' faithfuls hold firm to the ideologies rather than their conscience. Why can't we have that in Nigeria? Trump rode the horse of only we Americans, just as the conservatives are, but Clinton was we are for all. |

life707: Enjoying FTA is about Big dishes.
In the past, forum members talk about installing 3M,4M and even BUTONEDAY in warri bought 5M dish installed by DESJAM all the way from kano.
That's the enthusiasm that existed then but now a forum members want to watch channels TV free on a 60cm dish.
Also as pointed out in the past by George_D, FTA is not cheap and enthusiasts are not in it because its cheap or because they can't pay for dstv. Below is the link to his post https://www.nairaland.com/do_share?redirect=%2F475178%2Fofficial-thread-free-air-satellite%2F13%236573389&post=6573389&session=47E90DB22CFEACFC4BEA55F270B19077B97B9049265A136CED136F89EBDB2DF8 I quite agree with you 100%. Most newbies can't decipher. I remember in 2011(7 years ago) when a senior member here Chief Badaru was in my place to assist with my Nilesat, we talked about how closing your eye to spend big is far better than paying for Paytv. Many wouldn't understand. BUTONEDAY actually shipped that dish to Nigeria and it cost close to 1 million naira, . How much is DSTV, compared to such investment? When people visit me and ask why so many dishes in my place, coupled with the IPTV boxes and then Both DSTV and startimes in the same house, I tell them, they wouldn't understand. I am not always taking the back seat when it comes to watching quality entertainment, which far exceeds the the N150,000 p/a subscription to DSTV. I lost count of Decoders in my house. They're close to 10, some I have not even unpacked since 2015. George_D sold to me my first HD decoder in 2009, when Multitv was rave of the moment. I am planning on getting a 4.5m cos of Astra 19. These things don't come cheap. Hispasat, Hotbird and the German package on Astra 19 offer programmes that DSTV can never rival, save local contents |
Celebrities › Re: Zeb Ejiro To Contest For The House Of Representatives by davodyguy: 10:32pm On May 07, 2017 |
Zeb ejiro needs money https://www.nairaland.com/2187608/actresses-misbehave-because-politicians-give#31465643“See! There are a lot of people who never dreamt of being what they are today. Suddenly, they found themselves there. People are running after them. Ah! I need to see you, I need to see you and all that. They start seeing themselves above God. That’s where they get it wrong. The movie industry did not start with the stars that are there today. It started with others.
When we were talking, we mentioned a name – somebody you saw some days ago in Ikeja trekking or something. If somebody had told that person that at one time, this is how it’s gonna be, the person will not believe. Where they get it wrong is that they see themselves above God, they see themselves above the industry. People who suffered to make them who they are, they dump those people, they don’t respect them. You are doing something today, maybe a child’s naming ceremony, marriage or whatever, they don’t attend.
They don’t come, they don’t need you anymore! Because the politicians are giving them so much money, the politicians are buying them cars; female politicians are buying the male stars cars, homes and what have you. The male politicians are buying the female ones whatever they want. So, suddenly, they don’t need the producer anymore. They can even make bigger movies than you now because one politician will give them N100 million and you are looking for N15 million to do a blockbuster. |

but you need not to follow stations that still present news by reading papers, no reporters outside Nigeria, no first-hand information, no connection once you are not in the studio (Audio $ video calls), educative programs go on public holidays too, Etc.
TVC & CHANNELS are the only stations in Nigeria that have gone beyond the characteristics above. Forget APC or PDP Obviously you've never followed my post, that's why you expatiated. There's no need. I belong to the majority |

maxiuc: I mean with the way things are going in this country Sick president Bad economy Insecurity Hunger The list is endless
Yes you can be stranded in Nigeria That still doesn't add up. What you listed above are situations, being stranded means meeting what you didn't expect. Electricity has never been stable in Nigeria since 1960. If you rent a house and no power supply, that doesn't mean you're stranded. Cos power has never been stable. There's always insecurity under Abacha and till date You're mixing things up |

Moreoffaith: Many Nigerians are stranded on the street of Lagos. That doesn't mean they're stranded. They have relatives and relations before coming to Lagos to 'pick' money on the street. You can never be stranded among your people. If I am from Anambra state and managing well in Nnewi and chose to hustle in Lagos, that's not being stranded. I can return to Nnewi to my people |
