Just watch as the NPF's revenues, both local and national, legal and more notably illegal begin to soar! undecided
FamilyRe: Top 10 Countries With High Rates Of Single-parent And Single-mother Households by Day169: 8:28am On Jul 07
It would seem that the world's average is about 1 in 4, which is similar to Nigeria's figures!
.. i just wonder if it has anything to do with cultural and moral values, or the level of poverty in our society.
SportsRe: Kylian Mbappe Condemns Racist Rant Of Paraguayan Senator by Day169: 7:58am On Jul 07
While the 'undistinguished' senator ranted, Mbappe chose to speak on the football field.
Luckily for the Paraguayans it's a short flight back home to South America. cheesy
SportsRe: Belgium 4 Vs 1 USA: World Cup 2026 Round Of 16 (Final Result) by Day169:
The US team was "Trumped" 4-1! shocked
.. however, it's one of their most successful outing at a World Cup in recent times.

TravelRe: 10 Killed, Six Injured As Bus Rams Truck On Lagos-Ibadan Expressway - FRSC by Day169: 3:34pm On Jul 06
I think it would have been more important to show the picture of the truck since your investigation revealed it to be the culprit. undecided
SportsRe: White House Pressure On Infantino Led To Overturn Of Balogun Red Card by Day169:

BusinessRe: Dangote Crashes Petrol Price To ₦1,075/litre, Opens Sales To All Marketers by Day169: 8:40am On Jul 03
airsaylongcome:
N50 reduction is now “price crash”?!
.. more like a "slip" or 'slide'! undecided
At this rate, I hope the world market price will not have made a rebound by the time local prices come down to reasonable levels. huh
BusinessRe: Crude Falls To $70 But Nigerian Marketers Maintain N1,200 Pump Price by Day169: 1:15am On Jul 03
Many fuel dealers with petrol stations in Nigeria are dark hearted and I'm not surprised by their actions.
This is just akin to periods of scarcity when they hoard fuel to sell at exorbitant prices.
Since petrol has been readily available in the last 3 years or so, periods of sudden changes in world oil prices (either a rise or fall) have become their opportunities for sharp practices. undecided
FoodRe: Hilda Baci Presented With Her Certificate As A Guinness World Records ICON. by Day169: 8:07am On Jun 20
I'm aware that the Guinness records used to give a cash reward along with the certificate.
Is this still in practice?

CodeTemplar:
Share for WriterNG and quote/mention for WriteerNiig. Lol.
You won't see them anywhere near this story! undecided
.. on a lighter note, I hear the "strategic bomber" is being downgraded to a 'strike drone' in light of financial constraints Russia is experiencing. cheesy
FamilyRe: “I Will Not Clean, Cook Or Help With Bills”— Lady Lists Conditions For Marriage by Day169: 8:46pm On Jun 13
She has every right to insist on her terms, but also IMHO, I think this generation is in serious trouble as an aberration from the cultural norms we all grew up with.
.. but who knows, perhaps a generation that thinks and acts differently may end up with a different result from the disaster we all find ourselves in presently! undecided

May the soul of the departed rest in peace! Amen.
PoliticsRe: Cracks In The Wall Of NDC? by Day169: 3:42am On Jun 12
IreMide999:
There will even be more cracks if Obedients insist they have on confidence in the latest communication appointments in NDC.

It is better they close ranks and work together.
Well said. If care is not taken, all sorts of reptiles pass through the cracks (even alligators and anaconda) so to say. undecided
PoliticsRe: Accord Leaders In Osun Defy Adeleke, Reaffirm Hashim As Presidential Candidate by Day169: 4:03pm On Jun 11
I get the feeling that some of these politicians get a "high" just from being declared a party's presidential candidate even when they know they stand no chance of winning at the elections.
CelebritiesRe: Rick Ross Caught Hiding While Waiting For A Commercial Flight (pic) by Day169: 9:35am On Jun 11
That's why it's better to have an Abdul Samad Rabiu as a role model than a Rick Ross! cool
PoliticsRe: Obi: Kenneth Okonkwo Releases WhatsApp Chat With NDC Aspirant, Obunike Ohaegbu by Day169: 10:12am On Jun 10
DoTheNeedful:
This Kenneth na mumu. Where is Obi's name written on the receipt? That last time I checked, Obi was not the founder nor the owner of NDC. I hope Obi presses on with the suit.

While Obi is not my top choice for 2027, I detest mouths-for-hire like Okonkwo. I can remember how he was passionately defending Obi in the wake of 2023 election, only for him to make a U-turn a year after. His U-turn is sharp, extreme, and disrespectful. If Atiku, whom he currently surrogates for, is wise, he would not trust him. I know politics is mostly about personal interest, but the players should at least show some class and decorum.
Class and decorum? Those words do not exist in the Nigerian politicians' vocabulary. The last time I checked, the closest words were "clasp and decor"! cheesy
SportsRe: Six Major Rule Changes That Will Define The 2026 FIFA World Cup by Day169: 11:09pm On Jun 09
MrBadNews:
Covering of mouth, as how na
Well, there's a new strategy for football. If you’re not sure of fielding a good team as a coach, get the players with the stinkiest breath and match them in.
You're sure to get a draw at the least! grin
PoliticsRe: DSS Arraigns Paul Oweleke Over Alleged Social Media Call For Military Coup by Day169: 11:02pm On Jun 09
"Oweleke"!
.. isn't that what Emuakpor Johnson from 'The Johnsons' used to say when there's trouble? cheesy

Tough.
PoliticsRe: There Was Demolition Of Mosques In Anambra When Peter Obi Was Governor - DATTI by Day169: 2:00pm On Jun 09
It's sad to read this, coming from one who eulogised his principal only a short while ago.
It also tells me that all politicians are the same who care about themselves only and the people are just pawns on their chessboard! cry
PoliticsRe: Leadership Needs Harshness, If You Want To Be Nice, Go Sell Ice Cream - Shettima by Day169:
I agree with you, Mr VP, but many of our leaders are simply evil.
How do you explain leaders who use their position of authority to loot and embezzle? undecided
Yes a good leader requires some harshness but the way most of ours behave is otherwise.
SportsRe: Omar Artan: CAF 2025 Best Referee Denied Entry Into The United States by Day169:
I think it's disgraceful on FIFA's part!
Knowing that the USA has a travel ban on Somalians, it should either have assigned him to matches to take place in Mexico or Canada, otherwise made a special consideration for him or not contracted him at all. undecided
PoliticsRe: Our leaders unite when the masses are suffering. by Day169: 9:24pm On Jun 05
harsysky:
Nailed it! Do you think there is any solution to this parasitic nature of the politicians, maybe, awareness?
Awareness.. the people are largely aware but helpless.
R-E-V-O-L-U-T-I-O-N .. I'll try to define it. A sudden conflict or schism of seismic proportions within a human population, by the 'masses' against their oppressors, where no one can foretell the beginning or how it may end. ( I hope my grammar no too big. cheesy)
Look at the old Yugoslavia or Sudan. Scary right?
PoliticsRe: Our leaders unite when the masses are suffering. by Day169: 9:12am On Jun 05
Let's define politics in the Nigerian context.. it's the art of subverting the will of the people ultimately for personal gain while feigning to care, but without recourse to the consequences of such action on the polity!
We can define the masses as the helpless who have little or no way out than to continue to be 'law abiding' while their common wealth is depleted continually by the politician.
Nigeria is a geographical area where a parasitic relationship exists between the politician and the masses, and amongst the masses.
Lastly, the Nigerian politician is he who is above the law.
I hope this addresses your curiosity, @harsysky
