Many fuel dealers with petrol stations in Nigeria are dark hearted and I'm not surprised by their actions.
This is just akin to periods of scarcity when they hoard fuel to sell at exorbitant prices.
Since petrol has been readily available in the last 3 years or so, periods of sudden changes in world oil prices (either a rise or fall) have become their opportunities for sharp practices.

I'm aware that the Guinness records used to give a cash reward along with the certificate.
Is this still in practice?

.. on a lighter note, I hear the "strategic bomber" is being downgraded to a 'strike drone' in light of financial constraints Russia is experiencing.

She has every right to insist on her terms, but also IMHO, I think this generation is in serious trouble as an aberration from the cultural norms we all grew up with.
.. but who knows, perhaps a generation that thinks and acts differently may end up with a different result from the disaster we all find ourselves in presently!

I get the feeling that some of these politicians get a "high" just from being declared a party's presidential candidate even when they know they stand no chance of winning at the elections.

That's why it's better to have an Abdul Samad Rabiu as a role model than a Rick Ross!

While Obi is not my top choice for 2027, I detest mouths-for-hire like Okonkwo. I can remember how he was passionately defending Obi in the wake of 2023 election, only for him to make a U-turn a year after. His U-turn is sharp, extreme, and disrespectful. If Atiku, whom he currently surrogates for, is wise, he would not trust him. I know politics is mostly about personal interest, but the players should at least show some class and decorum.

Class and decorum? Those words do not exist in the Nigerian politicians' vocabulary. The last time I checked, the closest words were "clasp and decor"!

R-E-V-O-L-U-T-I-O-N .. I'll try to define it. A sudden conflict or schism of seismic proportions within a human population, by the 'masses' against their oppressors, where no one can foretell the beginning or how it may end. ( I hope my grammar no too big. )
Look at the old Yugoslavia or Sudan. Scary right?

Let's define politics in the Nigerian context.. it's the art of subverting the will of the people ultimately for personal gain while feigning to care, but without recourse to the consequences of such action on the polity!
We can define the masses as the helpless who have little or no way out than to continue to be 'law abiding' while their common wealth is depleted continually by the politician.
Nigeria is a geographical area where a parasitic relationship exists between the politician and the masses, and amongst the masses.
Lastly, the Nigerian politician is he who is above the law.
