PoliticsThree Trekkers For Atiku Stranded In Yola by dayo23(op): 2:35pm On Jun 13, 2015
Three men, who trekked to Yola in honour of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, are now stranded in Yola.

The men, Salihu Jibrin, Aliyu Adamu and Abubakar Suleiman, who spoke to newsmen on Saturday in Yola, said since their arrival, they have been unable to see their mentor, Atiku.

They said all they needed was to see Atiku or his representatives to deliver their messages and go back to their various destinations.

“I trekked for 38 days all the way from Lagos to Yola to see Atiku in view of his role over APC’s victory in the general election but up till now I hAve been unable to see him.

“I am now stranded with no money to go back; at times I sleep in motor parks or squat with good Samaritans,” Jibrin said.

Adamu, who rode on a bicycle from Kaduna to Yola, said he spent eight days on the way.

“I want to thank the Secretary, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Adamawa Council, Mr. Baba Zare, who had been assisting me since arrival to cope with the difficult situation I found myself.

“I want to meet Atiku before finding my way back to Kaduna,” Adamu said.

On his part, Suleiman, who trekked from Shelleng town, Adamawa,  to Yola said he had been squatting from one relation to the other while waiting for an opportunity to see Atiku before going back home.

PoliticsRe: Nasselection: How We Were Bribed & Attacked To Vote Against Saraki - PDP Senator by dayo23(f): 11:13am On Jun 13, 2015
bettercreature:
According to a high-ranking lawmaker in the national assembly, PDP senators and the pro-Saraki APC senators were bribed and later attacked to vote against Bukola Saraki during the recent NASS elections.
Speaking with DAILY SUN, he said "we were all approached to take bribe and vote the people they wanted in the two chambers of the National Assembly, but we said no. We resisted them because we are on a mission to salvage our party, and we were bent on voting the person that would serve our interest. Now PDP is in the opposition and we have to teach APC a lesson in positive opposition.”Sometime last week, it got so bad that their men stormed the Transcorp Hilton where most of us stayed and had our meeting to attack members. The attacks came as last effort after we resisted and refused their $50,000 bribe.
"The same people that had been persuading us to take gratification resorted to force and had to get security agents to intimidate us an make us yield. It was at that point that we all vacated our suites in Hilton and relocated to the Sandralia Hotel in the same city to conclude our plans and hold to the decision we had taken.”

Mr op, don't allow sentiment to becloud ur sense of reasoning. Every enlightened person knows that the national assembly must be inaugurated before ministers are appointed and ratified by them. Perhaps, we are talking about SFG and COS or didn't you read in the update you quoted that it was the SFG under Jonathan, Anyim Pius Anyim that made the announcement. If Jonathan had not appointed SFG before then Anyim's name wouldn't have been quoted. So tell Buhari to at least appoint SGF and COS
Mr President will appoint whoever he want and at whatever time he wish!
Anybody that ain't pleased with that should go and hug transformer.

All these yeye journalists speculating nonsense! They are just trying so hard to destroy the party by coming up with unverifiable situations in a peaceful party.

Tinubu name must have been mentioned more than Jesus and Muhammed combined since PMB took over. Tinubu this, Tinubu that; all I am beginning to see is that some pple are hell bent in bringing down someone who has truly made a lot of sacrifice over years to get us to where we are alongside others of like minds.

Not everything that happens is link to Tinubu or Atiku. This has to stop. Just because these men played a prominent role in the merger process that produced PMB does not mean we should attribute everything that happen in APC to them.

Love him or hate him, Tinubu will always be remembered as a freedom fighter and a man of principle and ideology just like PMB. They are the only two prominent politicians who has remain in opposition for several years and that shows commitment and bravery.

Qualifying for a position is not synonymous with meriting it

Femi Pedro & co were harassed, humiliated to pave the way for Fashola emergence as Lagos state governor, whether Fashola performed creditably in office or not does not change the fact that he was a product of a skewed process. He was imposed and for 8yrs was beholden to his godfather whose personal interest was considered more paramount than that of the suffering masses of Lagos state

There was nothing in his wife antecedent to suggest she merited her seat in senate. Her 4yrs in the house has been a complete waste in terms legislative participation, not a single bill introduced and articulated by the jaganbandit wife. Pls remind me of how she has ever championed a cause on behalf of the good people of Lagos west senatorial district.

The daughter is not a market woman so I wouldn't know the criteria used in selecting her as the leader of the market women in Lagos state. I guess that position must be hereditary, one of the inalienable rights of the tinubu lineage

Gej coming after him after the formation of Apc would look like a witch hunt for political reasons and don't forget that even as at 2014 he was still cutting deals with the govt on behalf of Oando
I don't agree with you bro, everything you said were base on assumption, GEJ coming after him will look like a witch hurt? Abeg spear me all that craps! And they could come after buhari with all those personal attacks? Talking about. His wife, how many senators did actually sponsored a bill? Most of them just sit on the red chamber and collect money, beside I will have to check her activity record in the senate to know if what you said were true or not. Brb

For once we have to put our house in order, APC can't afford to damaged what it has suffered so much to put together, I believe their are people among the party I mean high ranking leader who are not happy about the relationship between Tinubu and Buhari, they are ready to do the undue just to destroy that relationship, I really pray Tinubu and President Buhari don't fall to their traps! The both of them worked hard to be were they are today, many of us never believed in the emergence of the merger but as God may have it, we have the last laugh.
Inside of me I know Mr President is a man of his word, and I expect him to keep to the bargain with his close pal Tinubu, am not saying he should be loyal to Tinubu, Both of them should put Nigeria first in everything they do, I believe Tinubu meant well for Nigeria but it just the way he goes about it by getting it at all cost that the problem. Tinubu is highly intelligent and he is a good reader of the game, he must have known about some element within the party that are working to bring him down, right from the very first day he influence President Buhari candidature.
I also hope President Buhari knows their are many of his collegues who are praying for his downfall and will b working Underground to do that at all cost.
He should work more with those who stood by him during the struggle and not those who just joined his bandwagon after he was elected by the people.

Nigeria will be great again.

Stop this beatification of a common criminal, a former drug lord, a money launderer , a political profiteer, a rent seeking godfather. You make it look like he is divinely entitled to some of these political positions, as if he gave up his birthright for public good, nothing could be further from the truth. He knows his limitations and that's why he's made western Nigeria his catchment area for looting and exploitation. Now let's examine some of his great sacrifices you are trumpeting here

1) in 2007 ACN was a regional party , bringing Atiku on board as the presidential flagbearer was an opportunistic decision taken with a view to exploiting Atiku ephemeral popularity as the man that truncated OBJ's third term agenda

2) In 2011, he killed 2 birds with one stone, gave Ribadu (the man with the details of his shady deals) the presidential ticket of ACN and treacherously went behind to negotiate a deal with the PDP to deliver the west , perhaps to secure an immunity from prosecution for the mindless looting of Lagos treasury

3) His ambition to secure a vice presidential slot in 2015 was truncated by Atiku, Tinubu, Kwankwaso ,Saraki and Amaechi who staunchly opposed his ambition. Osibanjo became his proxy when it became obvious to him that he was fighting a losing battle

4) only a greedy man would make sure he is succeeded in office by his cousin, imposed his wife as a senator, his daughter as iyaloja, his son-in-law as house of assembly member, another son-in-law as honourable member of fed house of rep.
I quite agree with your Number 1 opinion, but 2,3, and 4 I totally disagree, even talking about immunity but what happen last tenure of GEJ? Since Tinubu was his major opposition why couldn't he simply probe him? Beside all those allegation you raise against him are baseless because you have no proof no evidence!
You talked about his wife and son appointment, weren't they qualified for the job or not?are you telling me his family member has no right to contest for political post? Pls grow up man

ALTERNATEID:
I agree with most of your points but Tinubu himself need to learn not to fight all battles. He could have handled this assembly leadership crisis better if only he was ready to concede some ground to other power blocs in the party. Like Dele Momodu said earlier today, we can't all continue to deceive him that he will be the sole decision maker in the party. Lots of other people also contributed significantly to the success of the party. He most recognise their contributions and carry them along both in decision making and sharing of positions. Federal government is not Lagos where he runs things unchecked. He his a leader I so much belief in and I hope he would have learnt one or two lessons from what happened on Tuesday. In this life, you win some and lose some. You can't always win or have your way all the time.
exactly what I analyse in one of the thread yesterday. Tinubu will be back stronger, he is use to been opposition. Now that his Party is the commander, I see no reason he will jeorpadise the process. He is very intelligent.
