And what part of the financial cost does the woman bear?

I am not against child support but I am gainst the way its done in most places, Some women get the child support checks and just go buy jewelries and shoes while the children you are supposed to be supporting are left to starve.

I would rather be for the woman providing receipt of items bought for the child and the man reimbursing her. Any item that looks like gold, earrings, nail polish, shoes, bags, should be striked out.

I am all for responsibility from both sides and EQUALLY too

Dayo, the moment the man choose to deposit his seemen into the ladies Vag and into not a condom, then he has no say over any mutual agreement to make babies.

You guys get away with this because you can walk away without being tied by pregnancy but thank God for civilised countries and they have procedures in place to make men liable for some of the cost of taking care of these children.
And the woman who opened her wetin call and allowed semen to be deposited into it knowing fully well what would happen what would she contribute financially? or she isnt responsible for whats goes into her vag?

At the appearance of those two dreaded words "child support" I knew that a certain person will in scoot here with alarming alacrity and I wasnt let down.

errmmmmm Mr DK, Can we please for once make use of that your 50/50 theory that you keep ramming down our throats?

50% mummy & 50% daddy made these precious babies. Mummy is currently paying for 100% of their upkeep & daddy is paying 0% towards it.

Dont you think that that is a little unfair bearing in mind she didnt make herself pregnant?
The guy should be responsible no doubt but what do you do when it wasnt planned for i think babies are supposed to be mutually agreed on by both parties.

Like me coming to you that I have incurred debt on your behalf without your consent and you have to pay me for it

But any rational man should see child support as an act of mercy, taking into consideration the 50% stake in the "act", and the fact that the results of the act are not shared equally by both parties :- The womans body is trapped with a pregnancy for 9 months, The man goes about his business, like he didn't just have unprotected intercourse.
The woman donated her womb the man donated his semen.

So why should one person pay money for the joint responsibilityor irresponsibility. Let both of them pay. They spent equal time on each other sh-h-agi-i-n-g themselves.

The mom upkeep of the child should be calculated, split into two and both contribute equally

Dayo, what is it with and to youhuh there's a time for everything,Wenger has done well so far,I hope he wins some more silverware so you'll take a rest.
However, having had a very stable and wonderful coaching career,of course it's perfectly in order for him to say the kind of coach he hopes will succeed him, that in itself is no big deal as it's the board that will make the final decision
Where did you get those items in bold from? You mean someone who won 4 league titles in 3 decades as a coach gets all those accolades?

Then what would we say about those who won 6 in a decade

We should be sorrowful for victims of pogroms and Biafra but not worry about victims in midwest, Ore or about politicians killed.

Pathetic

^^ Dont worry about us in Ogbomoso, we are doing just fine, Worry more about your kins and give them proper training on how not to attack and kill other people else they would bring sorrow to your heartlands like it happened before

I couldn't care less about these people enough to talk about them, whether something nice or not. I haven't even mentioned any of them in my posts because they are not relevant anymore. All that this foolish essay shows is your eagerness to 'show the Igbo'. Yawn. Lean back. Look at useless people.

In response to your above mentioned points:

1 i am well aware that the west was underepresented in the army - so were the igbos, but that didnt stop our men from acting with great courage and conviction - the yoruba soldiers were only interested in saving their own skins

2 I am not talking about the actions of the yoruba populace - they obviously had an axe to grind - Akintola was imposed on them and they wanted him out, im referring to the yoruba soldiers, many of whom were only interested in saving their own skins and please don't confuse cowardice with diplomacy, the army was supposed to be the most detribalised place in nigeria - surely if the yorubas viewed the igbos as true brothers they would have intervened in order to stop the mass killings perpetrated by the northern soldiers, as you know nothing of the sort happened. Instead what you had were a group of yoruba soldiers whose sole concern was their own safety  - please read Max Siollun's account of how the yoruba soldiers sent a delegation to Katsina to plead for their lives.

3 Why?  there is ample evidence which points in that direction, Awo was in jail for trying to overthrow the govt , Special branch had evidence on him indicating that he had approached various army officers including Ademulegun previously.

4 Have you ever heard of a revolution in which lives are not lost? the idea that you can take over the reins of power from a corrupt govt with every thing to loose if they are out of power without the use of violence is the most ridiculous thing i have ever heard.  When the american settlers fought to emancipate themselves from the colonial grip of the british why didnt they simply resort to a round table conference?
And yes to answer your question the yorubas were happy about the demise of everyone who was linked to the corrupt first republic, obviously it would have been preferable if ademulegun's wife had not been caught up in the cross fire but unfortunately revolutions are not clean and simple affairs.  In military parlance such unfortunate occurences are referred to as "collateral damage".

5 Your lies are now becoming more pathetic and desperate, now tell me something why were the elections in the western region marred by rigging, voter intimidation, arson, murder and thuggery?  Was Zik responsible for that?
why did Akintola's retention of power lead to widespread rioting and violence amongst the yoruba electorate? Was that Zik up to his old tricks again?
As a matter of fact a state of emergency was not declared by Balewa in 1965 because the northerners did not want anything that would jeopardise the rule of their puppet - Akintola.  Here is Max Siollun's analysis:

"Akintola was ruling over a population that was largely in revolt against him and many parts of which felt that he had been imposed on them irrespective of their vote for a different party.  It seemed as if the people of the Western Region would never be able to remove Akintola from power via the ballot box." - page 19 -20 Oil politics and violence - max siollun.

Now how you have arrived at your analysis that Zik and other igbos conspired to jail Awolowo and then impose a  state of emergency on the western region boggles my mind.  The truth of the matter is that Awo had already been dealt with by the northerners, they had clamped him in prison for plotting the overthrow of Balewa's govt - Enahoro himself confessed to this, again here is Max Siollun's account:

"Although Awolowo's supporters claimed that the suspects were framed and that the whole affair was a show trial aimed at eliminating the opposition, a genuine plot to overthrow the govt did exist and was infiltrated by Special Branch police officers.  Although it was initiated by civilians the awolowo treason trial may be regarded as the culmination of nigeria's first coup plot".

Many years later Awo's co accused - Sam Ikoku publicly confessed that the plot was real and that they had attempted to overthrow the nigerian govt".

pages 15-16 - Oil Politics and Violence

6 I cant comment on that as i dont know the ins and outs of why Zik agreed to allign with the north over the west.

My list of patriots are the 3 million innocent biafran men, women and children who died as a result of the genocidal atrocities committed by the north and your yoruba kith and kin.
Any comments on the killing of innocent politicians in their bedrooms in the presence of their families while sparing their own uncles?

Oh I get it they dont count or they deserved to die like someone said earlier while Zik and okpara were from the untouchable Jewish tribe of Judah

The Galactico reign of the late 90's and early 2000 was started by a german coach Juup Heyckenes.

The greatest upset in football history where Greece won the Euros was done by another german otto Rehhagel, Tell us what any Englishman has done in modern football

It is funny how these Yorubas been beating their chest though. It took Nigeria almost 3 years to defeat a group of "rebels." They also needed support from the British to defeat us. The British supplied the Nigerian military with weapons, while Biafra made most of their armaments.

Biafran soldiers were truly brave.

Everyone who watched Biafran soldiers in action, told the world of their bravery. The seige of Onitsha was one of Biafra's finest hour.

And I am proud of my heritage.
Did they include the heroics of Adekunle in the Biafran heartland? They should hang his pictures every where to deter anyone of your kin who thinks its ok to kill other Politicians in their bed while sparing theirs.

There are repercussions of every action and Adekunle is always around to send any warlord to their grave or to Ivory Coast grin

You igbos are not serious oooo! Did you miss when ezeuche was mocking a nairalander's uncle? Or did you miss when ezeuche said other leaders were expendable but bello is not ? I can see that you guys CANNOT be taken serious when dealing with issues because of your impartiality. This was the same thing that happened during the coup. When are you guys going to learn to judge fairly?
Have they ever been serious?

Imagine their kinsmen killing others and sparing theirs and expect everyone to take it

Even telling us they killed our people to liberate us, killed our people to make Awolowo in Jail president,
They killed people because they were corrupt but coincidentally no Ibo politician was corrupt as they are Jesus incarnates on earth given their Jewish heritage.

Fairness doesnt even exist in their dictionary

Or were you guys blind when ezeuche was warned? Na wa oooo!!
Sure, just like they were blind to Azikwe and Okparas sins but could see everyones elses

dont mind them, they forgive that silly erratiic toddler named ezeuche, and they have the gut to confront Dayo. ts just like saying your mama jokes to someone and getting angry when they say a more painful one. With what ezeuche did, he walked all over their history and painful past. e also brought it so low, as to make it fair game. When he insults Yoruba's all these worms hide in their cracks, but when Yoruba's fight back they come out and expect to be noticed.

The ignorance of the likes of Dayokanu and his support for the genocide perpetrated by the likes of Adekunle is quite nauseating to behold.
If the killing of Akintola and co in their bedroom can be supported and justified by some people never mind that you refused to even comment about it then all Adekunle did was fair. If the acts of Nzeogwu, Ifeajuna and co are not neaseating to you why should the act of Adekunle who probably took it personal.

Dayokanu let me explain a few things to you that you do not seem to understand - Adekunle was used by the northeners to acheive one objective - the defeat of their enemies the igbo, as soon as he acheived this objective he was tossed aside and recommended for compulsory retirement.
Who cares about what Adekunle was used for, He went to war with his agenda which is to shoot at sight both moving and non moving things.

If your kinsmen were so heartless to shoot people on their bed and in front of their families while saving theirs I wonder what guts you ppl have to criticise Benjamin Adekunle.

Dayokanu let me explain a few things to you that you do not seem to understand - Adekunle was used by the northeners to acheive one objective - the defeat of their enemies the igbo, as soon as he acheived this objective he was tossed aside and recommended for compulsory retirement.

Why did Adekunle end up a peniless , bitter drunk while his nothern masters ended up as members of the nigerian elite, why did the likes of TY Danjuma, Joe Garba, Abacha, Babangida, Shuwa and Useni  end up as multi billionaires while Adekunle ended up almost destitute?  Can you not see that Adekunle was nothing but a pawn?
Did Adekunle tell you he was fighting to enrich himself? Why are you ppl just bunch of greedy folks, No wonder some of you go to every extent to make money.

In my side of town some things go beyond money. Maybe to you if someone comes to your house and kill your father and rape your siblings as long as he can give you money its ok.

Adekunle I believe was avenging the death of our Leader. A 27yr old Adekunle probably saw Akintola as his Lord and role model but some bastardzz deemed it ok to shoot him and his wife while sparing Okpara and Azikwe.

Well most people who are from Ogbori Elemoso, from the lineage of the famous Aare Ona Kakanfos like Toyeje, Ojo Aburumaku, Akintola etc

Where the king is called AJAGUNGBADE, Would take offence and shoot everything that moves.

Let me tell you personally, If you come to my house and kill my father and mother, expect me to come to your compound and shoot everything that moves and even those that cant move . The walls, trees and foodstuff would even tell the tales after I have gone just like Adekunle did
