Pops man had an issue too with this NIN/SIM REG few days back, some guys selling MTN sim came around with their usual funfair marketing strategy, music, uniforms n all.

Dad took interest and paid for one sim for 100 naira. Regstation was done successfully. He Then inserted his sim to start using. To his surprise MTN sent him welcome message listing 3 different numbers linked to his NIN account. Out of curiosity he went back to them to know why. Long story short, they had used his details to register two other SIM Cards. Dad got passed and threatened them. After plenty dragging n calling their superior he collected the other two sims.
Pple are desperate. Let's be very careful

There is actually a case I currently have under investigation.
A friend bought and registered a sim at unilag, after the registration he was handed an unregistered sim while they kept back the sim they registered with his details.
They have owned up to it saying it was a mistake but we intend pressing charges at the conclusion of investigation.

The reason is not far fetched, as a result of a wider broadband penetration on the mtn network, you need fewer minutes to access more data in relation to its competitors and hence the resultant depletion of data bundle whereas on the glo network you need at least x2 the time it would take on the mtn network to access the same amount of data and hence the apparent lower rate of data depletion.

Big lie! I personally have witnessed to my very chagrin many instances where aliens have gotten preferential treatment in my homeland, privillages an igbo man will never enjoy in any Nigerian community unless he probably buys his way throgh.
We are a very accommodating people, and that is one of the reasons Igbos are well travelled. We keep making the mistake of expecting others to be as accommodating as we are.

The truth is you cannot just sit in one ibarapa village in oyo state or one ogbomosho that has close to 0 internet penetration and expect to know what happens in the world.
I can assure you that aside from lagos state (for obvious reasons) no Nigerian state has more diverse population than the five eastern states.
Take out time to travel and stop listening to the cock and bull stories passed down by your ancestors who never moved as much as one mile from home.
