to finalise your acceptance procedure we require an official confirmation from your previous study institution to confirm your obtained degree.
Confirmation has to be sent from your previous university by email to studies@vdu.lt
The deadline to present confirmation is 21st of December.



A FRIEND OF MINE WAS MAILED FOR COFNIRMATION, He has tried his possible best to contact his previous university but they are on Strike, No staff his in school currently, even the registrar! this is really giving us concern bearing that the deadline is tommorow.. a reply to this will be very much appreciated because this is crucial Bearing all the expenses and stress he had gone through.

Find a way to contact relevant staffs working at exams & records of the school Senate. You can get the home address of a key staff and visit to plead your case and make the person work it out for you even though the university isn't running.

For now, it is important to inform the prospective university tomorrow (21st dec) by mail and make them understand the situation here while asking for a week or more extension to meet up with the requirement.

A number of people on this thread were able to get the scholarship in time past. You should understand there are about 180 scholarships on the website with more than half not available for Nigerians. You need to select Nigeria as your country of origin to get the ones you are eligible for.

What they actually need is professional experience and it may take a lot of packaging to use driving/ running a phone shop as a valid experience...except your programme tilts towards those.
If it's related to marketing, then phone selling can be well packaged to highlight your selling skills.

I've checked daad website, but haven't found any that met my intended course of study. The one I saw insisted that I must have at least B2 German language proficiency, which I don't have. Please if you know of any scholarship that I can apply, please tell me. Thanks.

Someone on this thread claimed to have been awarded around feb/march this year.
About the language, not all ask for German language proficiency.
Some place emphasis on meeting language requirement by the universities you wish to make use of the scholarship. So if the University you chose seeks english proficiency, then that's what you need for the scholarship application.
I hope people who have gone through this path clarify this.

Going through the results, I found one that requires English lang but you must check other boxes like minimum of 2 years experience and for another one (SBW scholarship), you must have at least 2.0 grade on German scale with volunteer work experience.

We'll have to confirm that. But I'm not sure that banks have foreign currency to exchange over the counter. What I have heard is that you will have to source your Euro from the parallel market, and the bank only makes the transfer for you at a fee.

I'd like anyone who has done this recently to pls share their experience.

And by the way, the fact that the naira value of block account requirement has gone from about 4m to 6m within 2 yrs makes me very angry. It makes me wanna slap the handlers of our economy. The most inept people to ever grace this earth. It is just appalling to be honest

Well, the daad scholarship pays €861 monthly as upkeep and with this, they expect one to concentrate on studies without getting divided between work and study...but they actually allow work and study once you can prove it won't affect your studies as seen in the picture attached below.

If you have scholarship, you won't have to pay the blocked amount whuch is about €10300( currently #4.7mil using official rate of 480).

Yes. I collected my transcript from the school and I have been using it for all my applications.

The one I used for my application was the official transcript (Notarized copy) and not the student copy. Some Universities accepts student copy while some dont. Hence I would advise you to mail your prospective University for better understanding of their requirements.

Since you used the transcript twice (one for university, one for DAAD), I take it you didn't allow your school (in Nigeria ) to send the Official Transcript to the German school you applied to directly so as to allow you have a copy for yourself which you eventually used to apply to DAAD. ?

That's 2.96, if you want to hear the truth from me I would have said go for a fresh bsc. But if you're bent on still applying for Msc follow what I told you previously, you will be fine, also try and see if you can take the English test in short anything that will be an addition to your application documents. Try and prepare yourself, get your motivation letter in order if you can employ professional touch do so. Another fact remains as the year rolls by the competition for admission keeps getting tougher because you're competing with a lot of people world wide.

Hi everyone, thanks for the contributions so far.
About the grading system, I think there is an error in the lowest possible grade value used to covert the CGPA obtained to German grading system. Several post here suggests the lowest possible grade in Nigeria to be 1.0 ( A pass grade) but the NUC abolished the grade in 2013/2014 session or so, leaving us with a Third class degree as the lowest grade. Therefore, the lowest grade to be used should be1.5, not 1.0.

So, to answer your question, Nigerian students won't need to set up a blocked Bank Account in other to apply for visa to Switzerland.
