This has just expose the weakness of federalism (nigerian model). I keep saying its the colonial imposition of federalism that is the ban of undevelopment and high level of corruption in this country.

Just imaginig a sitting governor saying he is running away from contractors, wasn't he suppose to develop the state and there fore generate IGR. It just goes to show they do nothing except go to abuja monthly and share FAAC then disburse same to croonies.
That's why they are busy fight FG cos they don't have jobs. If those G7 governors are serious they will be in their states looking for ways to generate IGR like BRF rather than live in abj fighting GEJ.

This revenue sharing is the problem, whr pple don't work for their income they become complacent. 9ja is far from broke, but its about time to be fiscal discipline.

I think now is the right time for SNC, its time the nation demand it from our leaders.

All this mudslings accross regions and political bunkers and still no one has offered any solution to the issue on ground.

Already I feel disenfranchised by the political bigwigs as the partys have suceeded in rigging out promising candidates and leaving us with carcaS to vote for on november 16th.

I would love to know what you would like to change in the constitution

This news has changed the political machination of the state. But come to think of it ngige and andy uba have not represented us well in the senate so why should I trust them with more responsibility. They just want to use NASS as launch pads to their governorship ambition.

MPR - some have argued that the MPR should be lowered and I believe you seems to support this assertion. But come to think of it: Commercial banks are not going to open their vaults for most manufacturers. They prefer trades which are quick wins. So, lowering the MPR won't change this. You may check history and justapose periods of lower MPR to commercial banks lending to the real sectors of the economy.

Infrastructure - this is where I believe government should begin to seriously tackle. Recent interventions in this aspect have not yielded commensurate result.

Development Banks for each state - we both know that this is not workable. Do you know how much will be spent on overhead for the proposed banks? Let's instead empower the existing DFIs and broaden their scope.

1. For infastructural projects like power government must flex its expenditure arm so if sls was eXpecting govt to follow suit in his contractionary monetary policy he must be a joke.

Since I became a student of economics govt have establish different bridge banks to intermediate or fastrack growth of a sector in line with their objective eg boi, nacreb even give commercial banks access to some kind of intervention funds. 3. How can u ask banks to lend, with the uncertain biz climate in the country abi with the character of most biz men in nigeria that see bank money as their share of national cake
