Loool. Savage. Not a Visa packaging thread ...lwkd
seyewest:
This is not a visa packaging thread.... As you can see, this is a thread for people with U.S Visa, planning to travel or have traveled already and willing to share the experience at the POE with us.
Thank you

Thanks Armadaij. Confirmed issued.
Armadaij:
Check the link below;

https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=WwjqOlbeRYzCYubaSQI+RA==

Select the location you had your VISA interview.

Supply your DS160 Application ID

Input the CAPTCHA code as displayed, then Submit.

You will see the LIVE status and validity of your current VISA.

If it still reads "ISSUED", then your are fine.

Hope this helps.

They are o. Heard of two close people within this week alone whose visas were revoked.
Chuchunana:
I personally don't think they would revoke for that reason but one sure way of confirming the validity of your visa is to enquire from the embassy. When was your last trip?

Are they still revoking visas...its been a while I read or heard of visa revocation...All the best

It's not more than that o Oga Seyewest the crime buster
seyewest:
For you to be this worried are you sure it's not more than that?
TravelRe: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Ddarkguy: 12:12pm On Aug 09, 2018
Well....I stated in my DS160 that I would spend 2weeks but ended up spending 3weeks and 2days. Hope that's not enough ground for revocation? I planned visiting again soon and I dont want to waste money for ticket for nothing. If I can just know my Visa status before buying ticket....

seyewest:
Hope you've not misuse your visa during your last visit to U.S..
If your visa has been revoked, I'm sure they will not allow you board in Nigeria.

Good morning everyone and nice work y"all doing here.

Pls Is there a link to know the status of ones Visa as the rate of Visa revocation of late is alarming. Instead of getting to the poe to discover ones Visa has been revoked. Can someone find out through a link or something if a valid Visa is still really valid? Thanks.
TravelRe: USA Visit Visa Part 3 by Ddarkguy:
PTA is PERSONAL Travel Allowance. Banks give maximum amount of $4k while BTA is BUSINESS Travel Allowance. And Nigerian banks give maximum of $5k. You can visit aboki if you want more. If you have more than $10k you must declare with Customs and Immigration officers. If you are on vacation, you are EXPECTED to come with a minimum of $1000 per person (depending on factors like if u will be staying with someone or hotel, feeding, transporting etc). The more dollars you bring, the more fun you will have. Thank you.
seyewest:
PTA ($4000) is the most any Nigerian bank can give you... I don't know what is confusing about that and BTA will be determined by the custom/immigration service of the country you're visiting....

Good evening everyone. Spouse is applying for a Visa on a passport that's is expiring in 4months time. She intends to renew it before traveling if issued. Can this be an issue at the visa office?
Thanks in anticipation.

Since it's a B1/B2 visit visa you can visit earlier but risky just explain why you decided to come earlier and as per 3 weeks all you have to do is explain it to them if they ask but risky as well.
I travelled to the US on B1/B2 for the first time and I had a similar situation as you. Stated to travel 15th and for 2weeks at interview, left 5th and for 3weeks. Poe was NY. Wasn't even asked how long I wld be staying or reason for going earlier. Just stamped me in for 6months. It was a breeze.
While filling ur ds160, ur time of travel is probable not certain. Changes can happen so it's not a big deal. If they ask you, look him/her in the eyes and tell your reasons. Except you are planning to elope, (which might make u panic) nobody can turn you back for such flimsy reasons. Just make sure your PURPOSE and PLACE of visit do not change.
Best of luck

Hello everyone,
I bless and appreciate everyone who has contributed on this platform and most Esp, Seyewest.
Got in yesterday through JFK and it was seamless. I prepared well due to info garnered here but found favour from God.

Was given a priority treatment because my connecting flight was in 1hr.30min. I was given an orange colored card with my name pre written and boarding pass immediately we disembarked. With that I moved to the front line even though the queue wasn't too long with 95% white (about 50ppl rough est got there b4 me). Did self service and moved to the cbp.
Cbp: What did u say yes to on the declaration?
Me: Herbs (pronounced "Haaabs". went with Herbs- Agbo Jedi)
Cbp: looks confused like what's this guy saying?
Me: seeing the looks on his face I quickly added, plants! Herbs!!
Cbp: oh! Herbs (pronounced "Huubs". he corrected me. For his mind) Stamped me in for 6months and called an officer to lead me to Agric.
Agric: May we see the herbs,
Me: showed them.
Agric: oh it's dried. What's it for?
Me: Agbo Jedi. For excess Sugar extraction, cures pile
Agric: "full of smiles" ok. Do u have Indomie? Ewedu? Kilishi?
Me: No.
Agric: Have a safe flight and goodbye.
The entire process was unexpectedly easy and polite, respectful and very friendly.

Now working hard to fight this thing called Jetlag.
My opinion, if you got your Visa by being true and stick to ur purpose and location, your entry will be seamless.
Good luck to all intending travellers.
NB: I'm a first time traveller. No questions on duration of stay, amount of cash etcetera. That beats Me!

You guys have succeeded in dousing my worry. God bless you.

In any case, even if you end up missing your flight, they'll put you on another one
TravelRe: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Ddarkguy: 5:41am On Jul 28, 2017
Ok. Thank you guys.
moonraker:
What he said.

If you talk to the air hostess on the flight to JFK, the pilot will contact the ground staff. Things are much organized compared to Nigeria.
TravelRe: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Ddarkguy: 4:22am On Jul 28, 2017
Definitely from Lagos. Booked a BA airline with 2 stops at Heathrow and JFK. BA is changing us to AA from Heathrow to JFK and BNA.
moonraker:
Huh? Guessing ur not flying in from Nigeria.

Contact the nearest American Airlines office.

If that is difficult, you can talk to the air hostess on the day of your flight

They will sort u out one way or the other.

Long story short, your in good hands.
TravelRe: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Ddarkguy: 4:09am On Jul 28, 2017
American Airlines to JFK and to Nashville but different aircrafts.
moonraker:
What airline would you be using into JFK and to Nashville?
TravelRe: U.S Visit: Port Of Entry Interview/stories. by Ddarkguy: 4:04am On Jul 28, 2017
Yes. Will change airplane. My concern now is, is 1hr 30mins not too short for poe wahala and won't I miss my connecting flight? Is there a way out?

JFK

Unless your not leaving the airplane which is highly unlikely.
Hello Seyewest & Co.
Thank you guys for the good work of enlightenment you do. God bless you real good.

I am a first time traveller to the US. My flight to Nashville will have a stop and lay over of about 1hr 30mins in JFK. My question is, will my POE be JFK or Nashville since the latter is also an international airport?

Thank you as I await your response
