If your not street wise, I'll advise you say the truth how you came about the school. They will ask you 1 question and twist it at the tail end of the interview session to see how truthful you were. Why California? & Why did you choose this school may not be the same but the answer to each are intertwined. You can't afford to say something materially different from the other.
In my case, It wasnt twisted, they asked same question at the middle and tail end of the interview session. - Why did you choose this school among others you applied for? I didn't waiver, repeated same answer.

Why California? Talk about the industries that abound there for experiential learning (Internship) to enable you gain exposure before coming back to Nigeria to set up your biz, relate it to the school research progress also, you may inform the VO that it was not about the state but about the school that informed your choice of state. Your school may not be highly ranked but the course program is rated highly among other school. It's a <5mins Interview. Trust me, you'll face many more challenges here, you have to do your research alone to save cost, achieve more

To all my future emigrants. Please switch to any Computer related program MIS, MS Computer, Business Analytics etc. Indian peeps here dey hammer. All my Indian friends that did MS Computer got internship and now all got full employment even before graduation, all the companies that hired them promised to file H1B visa. No go waste your money for kwe kwe course. Even if you dont know jack, learn IT online and change to IT.

Final exam go be like 20marks. But as a typical naija guy, you no fit carry last sha.

Same here, did Chemistry and in my final ACCA paper, already in the US doing MS Finance. Your ACCA wouldnt count much here though based on gist I heard but it wouldn't harm your internship prospect as it shows youve done some homework. More emphasis is placed on working experience. Ill say look for an average school, don't spend too much and jump right into it if you got some experience.
My 1cent of advice, but if you dont have experience, probably look for a good school that post result of their student employment records (Most times, the skul fees are expensive) or chill out to get some relevant experience before coming. Most peeps in the set before mine with working experience got offers easily than those without.

The way the Indians and Chinese cater for themselves in Universities in US is amazing. They even keep study materials for themselves that new student(Chinese or Indian) doesn't need to worry about study materials. They pave way for themselves. They are like swarms. That's why they do excellently well in here. Right information is power.

Indians n Chinese have forums on facebook, they pick new students from Airports, provide temporary accomodation for them free for 3 days, and also help them to look for accomodation. After staying 4 days in Hotel, met a Nigerian and Senegalese in an apartment, wanted to join. Oh boy, see interrogation like I b criminal.. Nobody tell me, I use compass locate 1 chinese student wey even get ride to take me places free. Ghanians here are even far more friendly than the Nigerians....

If u use your GTB, its N225 to a $$, so theres no point if he isnt going lower than that. Why not go buy PTA at the selected branches

Pls advice what steps to take.
My plane is about leaving to my final destination from dubai - JFK - buffalo. However I have only $600 on me though I have money on my master card. Something happened on Friday that posses me off, most banks told me they wernt selling PTA. 1st bank directed me to Oba Akran & assured me I'll get, on getting there they told me they don't have. I later went to my 2nd bank after touring the whole banks on Allen & Oba Alan Ikeja.
The Customer care told me they sold $ & they had upto $4000 available, she called the manager on fone and she confirmed it but she said they would close the portal by 2pm. Time was 1:30 but the money was in Gtbank close by. I had no Internet so hurriedly went to gt to do Internet transfer then rushed back & submitted all necessary docs just b4 2pm. The cc then told me the money hadn't reflected cos it was my access acct that would be debited. I hurriedly ran to withdraw 800k cash but saw the credit alert on my access acct.
To cut long story, after scanning all my docs which was well past 2pm around 2:20 they still uploaded my docs online, the manager them said they don't have upto 4k. That she has $200 . I knew she was playing games as she had seen I was travelling wkend and won't b around on Monday, I rapped her to sell for me even @ higher price say 205 cos she knew I was desperate. Also told her that she didn't tell me all this till she took my info. She then said she'll check & later said she had additional $1k. I waited till 3pm b4 she changed mouth and said the portal had closed.
I was like u didn't know it has passed 2 since but yet you took all my info so u can buy it with my info and sell to aboki later.
GUYS, I just wanna stop her from using my info to buy @ 200 and sell to aboki. Her name is omotayo olarenwaju @ access Allen branch. Not so sure about her first name sha.

No bank will sell foreign currency to you. This has stopped for a long while and now you cannot even deposit your foreign currency into any bank account whether domicillary or naira account

Enquire very well, First Bank dont give cash, they give pay the PTA into a master card to use abroad, except if u have a dorm account, then u can transfer from the mastercard dollar account to your personal dorm account then withdraw over the counter. Am not 100% certain but my sis used that route to get physical cash.
I may be wrong so verify

I advice all inter students to open fidelity bank they give CBN rates but to only 3months old customers, Stanbic does but their rate is N208.
