I am currently searching for accomodation but having doubts
There are official off-campus recognized aprtments, the cheapest was for $670/mth, has so many effizy, but saw another which was a 2 bed apartment, contacted the agents if any student wanted to sublease as the price was $1,035 and hopefully if i can get something around $350 (though not discussed price yet) if the bill is split. Though the agent is the one doing the link up, my problem is that the contract is btw me and the tenant, agent said she doesn't wanna be involved only just doing the connection. Kinda wary about that
How is the experience living with a working professional / student, (Is it same as living in hostel on campus ), then the legal aspect (getting scammed)?

Yes it was 10th in Lagos. Went to DHL since its changed to No status, but was told it hasnt been issued yet.

I recently purchased Airtel 3500 1+1 offer of 9Gb, after being successful, I loaded extra N500 for call credit just this week, they zapped my call credit and it showed I have no data plan. I was sceptical at first as it showed i had 228mb instead of 9,024mb, I thought it read from 0 - 9000 as i kept using it instead of from 9000 - 0mb.
I also figured the N500 was zapped because i was removed from the plan so I was charged as PAYU user. I lodged complain at ICM 3 days ago and the Airtel attendant told me they can suscribe me to the former plan but cant return my money (N500). How is that my fault when
1) If the network hadnt removed me from my plan, I would still have my call credit and my data would have been charged from my plan
2) I would accept their excuse only if my plan got finished and was subsequently charged from the plan, then its due to my lack of funds for renewal.
The dude then said theres nothing he can do about it, I should wait for 2 days to be subscribed, its 3 days and still no show.
Airtel are just CRAP

guy urgent reply needed please....my visa was issued on the 10th at lagoss and i have been tracking it and it has been saying that the passport is still with d consulate(de to their difficulty in printing visas) now that their systems are back up, i have tried tracking it but it says that there is no stats update for my pasport nmber and i haven't received any sms saying my passport is ready for pickup.

Same here also, I give them till Wednesday next wk to make it 3 weeks. If nothing happens, Am marching to both DHL & US Embassy..#gbam

Pls is it possible for the Embassy to change their mind & cancel your approved visa just before collection.
IMO, they could also be reviewing this thread to know those who confessed their misyarns from their transcript during the interview...KINDA WEIRD SHA

No disrespect bruv, but your in a tight corner, you can get admission into a lower cadre school but that score especially the GRE is a no brainer. But dont get it twisted, people with lower scores have gotten GA, you only need to search for a needle through a stack of hay. If you got time, start now, theres eastern/western illionois (i dunno which 1 among the 2, kinda generous peeps with grants). GOODLUCK with your search & hope you get a CHANGE of loacation by next year.

Same here, its a general thing. They are having problems with the Visa stamp. Don't stress yourself, I also got approval last Wednesday but gonna chill out till this weekend b4 going there

I sent both SOA to get the I-20
I filled SELF, but realised it was a mistake just a day to my interview cos a higher % was from my sister

Patient dog eat the fattest bone. It depends on Your eagerness & school resumption Date. Bare in mind assistantship is no visa guarantee but u most likely have a 90% chance, a friend of mine got denied this January with full tuition waiver & assistantship

(I've heard from some quarters that your odds of getting a visa is better when an assistantship is listed as your funding source as opposed to family funds.)

Chai that Asian guy dey destabilize people o....wanted to run to the toilet when I was next and taught he would call be but thankfully I was call to window 4 .a black woman who was mature interviewed me

I noticed the Asian guy, he wasnt that bad, he gave someone in my presence but he wasted time with the dude IMO,
there was this white woman in booth 7 (not sure), she was interrogating like the applicant was a criminal, (stood up to confirm somethin with a colleague @ booth 9, I just knew wahala dey for the guy.
The best was that light skinnned black young lady @ the end of the row (booth , her interviews were jovial and she was giving it out easily till she met the guy that confessed the low GRE scores..

So many Approvals today, maybe twas the cold weather they love + God factor.. After seeing so many approvals across all booths generally, confidence was boosted 110%.
NOT ON SCHOLARSHIP BUT STILL NO SINGLE DOC REQUESTED.

Dude: stammering....... After 5 secs silence.. He realises he's been on the last straw, finally opens up. (My GRE was low, this was the only school that accepted me).
I was called for my interview after that.
IMO: If you wanna lie, you gats be a smooth liar (street wise) cos u got 2sec to formulate it. If not, just come out straight cos they will still give if your outright honest (not all though). Couldn't wait to find out the guys outcome.

Damn!!! I just realised I filled my SELF as sponsor for the trip in my ds-160 instead of OTHERS.... Already booked appointment. Any advice on remedial plans

What time is your interview with the embassy? Just pray they start early and go early as well, so you can be among the people to be interviewed first.

It is 6;30 but am thinking of reschedule if the process will exceed 9am. Any advice from those who have gone for theirs ... pls respond

nice transcript. Bros, your profile fits a better school than the one you have. You can't have that profile and settle for that school. You would have aimed atleast top 20 schools.

I second you on this, UNT is kinda low for a your profile, other high ranking schools might have also given you a tuition waiver if you applied.

Nothing confusing here, i did not do medicals yet, there is a form called request for medical exams which you will download and upload, it basically says you want CIC to contact you for medicals...that's if you choose you live in one of the designated countries which Nigeria is among...i saw alot of people here answering no to the question about living in one of the designated countries which i personally feel it's wrong since Nigeria is among, if you choose you have not don upfront Medical exams, CIC will ask for "Request for medical exams" not "Proof of Medical Exams" they are two different things...thank you

Let me be specific, Is Nigeria a designated country "Have you visited or lived in any one of the designated countries for 6 consecutive months in the last year?" Yes/No
I searched the site and got this 2 links for designated countries,

I believe this will determine if I am to submit a medical report now or later.

If you've been called for medicals at this point, and you're still here complaining about the price... E get as e be ooo(unless you're just cracking jokes and relieving the tension in the house)... Some people dream to be in this your position day and night.

Start preparing you mind for the expenses in Canada (esp the monthly rent) cos by the time you do the conversion in naira, your body go tell...

Congrats on your medicals though... And to answer your question, that's the cheapest price you can get ...

Hello house, please where can someone perform the medical test at a reasonable price. I enquired from one of the registered clinic and was told N28K, Any lesser price would be appreciated as I do no think they should charge me that much, my body is in perfect shape, everything is negative..Lol

Please I want to verify something, I have been given admission to a US & Canadian school, I want to enquire if Canadian embassy hold on to passport after an online application when I get to do my biometrics or would I hold on to it till when its been approved for stamping visa?
Also, how long is the online application and do I need to do a medical test first?
