ugo4u: The Tucanos are coming with hi-tech munitions/bombs, the deal also includes training of Pilots, technicians and construction of a brand new hangar. That's by the way you can't get 50 F-35 for $530m as you alluded to. A unit cost as high as $100m without any add-ons (Weapons etc). Unless you're talking about ABA version of F-35 that will scream your "Bluetooth device is ready to pearl" when a pilot intends flying it aside that there is no basis for comparison cost-wise.
Salatavor: You will die early and quickly too. Whatever infrastructure you see in Nigeria was built during the military era. Universities, roads and bridges, states, policies. These lazy civilian thieves have killed us all and are now using the populace to fight against each other in the name of ethnicity.
Bandits have released a video of a pregnant student and others who were abducted from the Federal College of Forestry Mechanisation in Afaka, Kaduna State in March.
The bandits who had initially demanded a N500 million ransom from the government, reached out to some parents of the abducted students after the Kaduna state government failed to comply.
One of the bandits was heard speaking in Hausa and later Fulfulde in a four-minute, 56 seconds video shot at night in an unknown location. He asked some of the students to come forward and speak to the camera.
The pregnant girl who the bandits addressed as Hajiya pleaded with their parents to rescue them. She said;
“We are appealing to our parents to help us, we are tired and there is no food. They should do their best to get us out of this place. We have spent 47 days, almost all of us are ill and there is no food. We sleep in the open even when it rains."
Another woman addressed as the wife of a military officer was also called up to speak. The lady who was abducted from her home in Tirkania-Agwa in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, said her husband is a naval officer working in Warri, Delta State and also urged the Federal Government to come to their rescue.
She also said the bandits had earlier requested for N30million for their release.

PS712: Let's believe you that truly you don't know ECA is European Club Association (for clubs) and UEFA is union of Europe's Football Associations (including parts of Asia) and that you don't want to google. Clearly, the timing is wrong. The strategy is not clearly spelt out. How others will survive or adjust isn't given time to debate. There's so much the big clubs are overlooking in this their quest for financial superiority. For instance, there is no Portuguese club proposed to form the ESL (European Super League), and may be none may meet up to the remaining slots (3 slots or so). One day Portugal F.A will wake up and announce none of it's clubs will sell a player to a league they can't partake in and that decision will stand, or rather they frustrate the deals. How then can we have someone like C. Ronaldo who the ESL is bragging of large fan base now? UEFA had tried in creating a super league at nations league level where they are grouped according to superiority, replicating same for club should have been carefully examined by all stakeholders.
thanks for this, now I understand why alot of people are against it
uniquetechng: Even Beyonce has more social media followers than both so stop this meaningless talk, beside 99% of world football fans are against the move.
shadowprimezero: If hundreds of armed terrorists were to enter your apartment in the dead of night to meet you and your family with the fact that you know no one's ever coming to help you. Now the terrorist ask you a simple question, "where is your neighbour, take us to his room". Tell me, would you form hard guy and be a hero or comply? The crux of this issue is NA's inability to protect civilian targets, leaving the civilians do what they can to save their lives, including working with an enemy you know could kill you at the slightest disobedience.
Its easy for us to judge the actions of people if we're not in their shoes.
DubaiLandLord: The immediate past Minister of Interior, Lt.-Gen. Abdul-Rahman Dambazau (rtd), on Friday said the O’odua People’s Congress (OPC) and the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are extremist groups like Boko Haram.
Dambazau said this at Army War College in Abuja while delivering a lecture to participants of course 5/2021.
He alleged that the two groups were sponsoring a new wave of extremism that could ignite ethnic conflict so as to achieve their aims of dividing the country.
Dambazau said the Police have a critical role to play in quelling recent agitations across the country, “instead of leaving everything for the military”.
“The two groups have been making efforts to ignite nationwide inter-ethnic conflicts through their violent attacks on northern residents or transacting businesses in the south as a quick way to realise their dream for a divided Nigeria.
“We see parallels between Boko Haram and the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) both ethnic extremist groups. All the three groups operate on the platform of extremism,” Dambazau said.
Speaking earlier, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, directed all Nigerian Army training institutions to build appropriate capacities and competencies in order to make the army a formidable force that can tackle all security threats.
He said the college was conceptualised to bridge the training gaps in the area of strategic and tactics among officers of Nigerian Army.
“In this regard, I have directed that all Nigerian Army training institutions should build appropriate capacities and competencies that will make the Nigerian army a formidable force.
“As you are all aware, our nation has been grappling with a myriad of security challenges which includes insurgency, banditry, kidnapping and other forms of criminality across all the states of the federation.
“As daunting as these challenges may be, I strongly believe that they present opportunities for leadership, especially at the operational levels which you currently belong to.
“Therefore, I challenge you to make good use of your time at the college and imbibe knowledge to open your mind to new ideas that enhance the defence and security of our nation.”
The Commandant, Army War College Nigeria, Maj.-Gen. Solomon Udounwa, said the course had 62 participants from the armed forces, other security agencies with three from allied countries of Togo, Liberia and Congo.
