correct,massive illegal lumbering was going on at the forest reserve at that time and the trucks conveying the woods prefer moving through the enugu -abo ufuma section which is anambra. Even the sandstone excavators prefer plying the anambra route,i know that won't be the case presently.

Funny enough when i used that road during my project field work 2012 the anambra section was good and the enugu portion was bad. That is mamu river bridge overlooking inyi sandstone ridge

I am opening this thread for truck owners and their agents who are ready to load yam from Benue to the south,preferably Onitsha and neighbouring areas.

In the time past 911 lorries are the favorite for this type of trip but not anymore because traders have discovered that 12 tires comes with cheaper expense.

I am a 911 charter man or what you call loader but since the beginning of this season buyers are preferring to haul their goods with 12 tires. I have loads of buyers but scarce vehicles.

If you mean the Ogoja/Garkem areas that border parts of Nsukka then perhaps that sense of geography can be fitting... but as a whole enclave, Benue has never been in the Eastern region besides been a neighbor to the Northern Igbo areas.

Well if you read the article, you would have gotten the point, the early Igbo leaders failed the Igbo nation (According to the article) while Benue was part of the Southern protectorate and clearly separated from the North from the post-1914 era, when the Eastern region was carved out, prominent Igbo nationalists were busy fighting for political influence in Lagos and Ibadan, instead of them to do same in their territory.

Azikiwe who was supposed to be in Enugu fighting against it as the leader of the East, was far away in Ibadan struggling with Awolowo to rule the Western Region and also playing the spoiler role against Awolowo's attempts to have Kwara and present Kogi Yorubas (the Igbiras) carved into the Western Region from the North which was already too large by landmass.
