But in summary, it's sort relationship that exists between Murshid-muridi without physically meetings. Just like Uways wasn't able to see holy Prophet (saw) physically because of his care for his aged, blind mother but was able to "communicate" with the prophet telepathically. Thats why is some occasions the Prophet would say I feel the breath of my Lord coming from Yemen.

But later there have been lot of Sufi sheikhs been guided by previous Sufi sheikhs or Khidr or holy Prophet (saw) himself given them specific guidance for the spiritual upliftment. Mark you this is not for everyone o or Sharia things that people have to abide with. And also it doesn't mean going to grave of Sufi requesting they guide you NO.... such meetings is by shear mercy of Allah.

No brother don't get it twisted. A Muslims must forever be ready to learn from anybody (Muslims) in as much is the TRUTH. This is what Allah says in the Holy Quran that blessed are those who listen to talks and follow the best Hassan. You must be ready to extract truth anywhere and hold it with your molar teeth. That's why the Holy Prophet (saw) wisdom are lost property of a Muslim we should take wherever will find it.

You see, my understanding of Sufism is like someone going for his PhD program, you can't compare that with just a high school or undergrad students. So there will be a time in which you will need a guide, sort of advisor that will guide you. One of the main problem in Sufism is those that are yet to understand the basic Islamic jurisprudence are directly moving to mysticism, it breeds nothing but nosensical we are seeing in Sufi nowadays. For me it's natural evolution of man's spiritual yearning which come effortlessly when you drift in that direction.

That's why the question arise, how will you even get a good guide nowadays where majority of the so called sheikhs are not that different from the muridi.

Lastly, the ultimate guidances come from Allah and his messenger, that is why even those that have physical or non living sheikhs have unbroken chain to the prophet. And sometimes have direct contact with holy Prophet(saw) and receive guidance from him thru uwaysis phenomenon.

May Allah not allow the Muslims to descend to this point where we carry our competition into arguing about who had a better burial or grave. That was the reason Surat takathur was revealed. The Quraish would argue about the nobility of their dead men and even extend it to the grave saying things like "did you have such and such a one ?"

The entire lessons of death is lost and reduced to petty babbles of this duniya. Failing to realise that the wealth of this duniya does not transcend to the akhira except by virtue of our deeds is a major defect of ones mental health. That is why we see people burying their loved ones with Benz, golden caskets, air-conditioning and all. Whereas the wealth or poverty of a dead person is already with him in the grave mashaAllah.

While mourning, remember the actual thing that is happening. We are returning to our creature. And in a couple of years, even the mourners will be mourned. Our deeds is what count. A poor righteous man who was steadfast in his striving in the course of Allah is better that a dead multi billionaire, even though the former was buried in a simple white cloth, and the later was buried with billions of cash inside an airplane.

Ya Allah, do not make this duniya of Paramount concern to us, nor the ultimate of our knowledge. Ameen
