Access and UBA exposure brought the numbers down. Only PZ doesn't pay dividend in my portfolio for now in addition to UBA and access which I have already discounted but the capital appreciation has made up for it in 200 fold. All others pay but not substantial enough to pull the portfolio to a yield of 5%

I am examining my numbers as of today and your analysis makes a lot more sense regarding predictable incomes. Dividend yield compared to fixed income yield is only about 1.6% for my entire portfolio worth thanks to the run up most stocks have had over the last 12 months. Time to move accounts. Always a delight to read your opinion.

It is good very you have raw cash to buy stocks in a down market, that is the essence of diversification and that is how to build good units of shares.

Capital appreciation is not predictable, but investment income is predictable .

Mind you, you did not sell all your shares the remaining shares will enjoy the capital appreciation you are looking for but the bond will produce regular income

Did the government take the windfall tax from FX revaluation gains that was being touted last year? The banks should at least get some respite from that this year to cushion the effect on their loan books.

Revenue improved greatly. They only used all of the result from operating activities to settle their finance cost while finance income comprised the PAT for the quarter. I am curious as to what makes up their finance income though.

If they didn't have a lot of debt, the business is actually doing well now compared to when it was under NB. Yet to also see if the bullet acquisition has started to trickle into the revenue stream as well (That might be the income under other comprehensive income)

Saw a signal that the banks may do well, so, I bought Zenith and Wema. I'm over 80% up on my Zenith already. The success with Zenith coupled with their impressive dividend made me think UBA might do well too. Now I'm just going to become an investor in UBA

Access really needs to release their result today, so the beating can be a joint one with UBA if they are not paying dividend as well. Otherwise it will be worse if they release later UBA's beating is over

Tony should issue a statement or address the media as Ote$ did when FBN issued it's unaudited FS earlier this year.

If the bank makes all the money there is and insiders continues to borrow like we have seen in some of these banks, of what use is it? In a way, I like the approach Otedola took with FBN although one is yet to see whether he will also toe the path of the people before him in the bank in borrowing seeing he's now the largest individual shareholder.

GTB and StanbicIBTC continues to deliver value to shareholders YoY. My BEP is 6 and I had high hopes for the dividend, that pained me more

UBA is a hold for me. I like their Q1 deployment of cash.

That's if the board chooses to pursue the loans taken by insiders. Not sure the CBN requires the banks to pursue these loans after provisions have been made for them.

If so there is a high likelihood of reversal for UBA’s insider related impairment provisions in coming quarters or years. Not like those other impairments that never reverse.

Going forward, the CBN needs to put a cap on how much these guys can get from the bank even if they have the highest shareholdings. The CBN shouldn't allow them to borrow from the bank in perpetuity because they have the largest shareholding or are a director and end up writing it off using profit from the business in the guise of bad debts etc.

They are why management don't take shareholders seriously at AGMs. I listened to that of CWG as well and it was mostly praise singing from beginning to the end. Even the chairman was hurrying them to hasten up. I listened to NAHCO's AGM twice and there was a Dr who consistently asked intelligent questions based on the numbers in the report, grey areas that needed clarification and future plans of the business.

Might be helpful to state what issue you are experiencing. Out of curiosity, I placed a withdrawal request this morning, 20mins later my email was acknowledged. I usually don't make withdrawal request but given the several complains here, I decided to test the system and it does work.
