Okpai and kwale can't use over 500MW of electricity as they are a small community. I don't know about the installed capacity at the Ebocha center.
ositadima1:

This is a very interesting point. It does not seem like their power plants are linked to the national grid, based on my experience while I was at Ebocha.

The surrounding community was using free electricity; nobody paid a dime. The power supply was steady. Also, the gas plant in Omoku was used to power the Ebocha Oil Center operations. As far as I know, these power generating plants are not commercial but used to run the in-house operations and neighboring communities.

If Oando decides to commercialize this power, then it will be a big issue between them and the surrounding communities.

For people who own rental assets. Have you used alternative dispute resolution ADR at the courts (arbitration or Multidoor courts) that do not require the rigours of numerous adjournments in the regular court room to resolve issues with troublesome tenants and what role did the police play in it before the hearing at the courts.

Totalenergies delivered as expected. Eps for H1 alone is now 60.58 from 25.88.

With this type result and their dividend history, I can on say hmmm

Foreign exchange gains helped them. Whether it is a sustainable component of their earnings going forward is left to be seen. Good result even without it anyway.

Thank you for this

gbadexy:

Quality paint and allied products is my forte but I like to share whatever knowledge that can help in line with the intention for the creation of this great thread by Hajj muftau.
I have seen different manifestations of damp.
If it's as a result of water from outside wall or across toilet and bathroom wall, using water resistant paint would prevent it.
If it's from capillary action of ground water, there is little that can be done from experience. The water would find another path of little resistance to come up if one side is blocked using any means.
If the place is tiled, it can appear as blisters over 6 feet above tiles or even appear in a separate place.
As temperature rises, water turns to vapor and rises up trying to escape and it shows as bubbles that blisters as it pushes the paint cost or even parts of plaster. After a while, it would even weaken and affect the plaster there.
What I have suggested to clients in water prone area is to use paint with low binder and applied lightly in a single coat about a feet below the surface so that ground water escapes through there and it can be repainted occasionally separate from the more expensive paint of different color above it.
I saw something even better in a site I've been engaged to supply paints. They used Tyrolean at the base round the building. This can be made lower and left unpainted round the building. The ground water would escape to the surface easily without affecting the wall or paint above it.
Having outside floor that slopes away from the building and preventing water to accumulate long round the building would also help.
I supply undercoat to seal water but there effectiveness is only where it ends except the whole room would be painted with it before screeding in a building prone to severe damp.

For those that had to deal with rising damp on their walls, what solutions have you implemented and have they worked so far or some failed.
Some people use wall tiles on external walls but the damp sometimes rise above the tiles in some cases.

For those who have used costarchem products, pls share recommendations and your particular application.

Thank you.

Dangote should crash the price of pms and send the importers out of business. To me, that is fair competition, but wanting fg to ban import might not really be fair.

Secondly the fg should set a minimum standard on the quality of pms either imported or refined.

Lastly, both the refinery and importers should source for their usd themselves

On the bolded, It's a free market now. People sell at the price they want to and that's why you find different stations selling at different prices.

If price closed at say N40 on date of qualification:
Price on next trading day would be (N40 minus 90k) divided by 3 = 13.03 (actually N13.00 given the 5kobo price range for UCAP).

Jah bless

Sometimes ago, some shared how to calculate what price of a stock will become after markdown for bonus issue. Considering that UCAP is giving 2:1 and 0.90k dividend, what will be the share price on the next trading day post qualification.

Can't they use the retained earnings or go to the capital market?

Might not be entirely out of the available options. One shareholder had asked if we should expect same % increase in dividend increase in the future, that was the chairman's response.

If they can pay 3 or 3.2 as final dividend, won't be bad
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by debeey87(m): 6:20pm On Jul 18
Nahco's dividend increase might not be substantial for FY24. At the last AGM, the chairman said the company was planning more expansion drive to increase value they are able to deliver long term to shareholders and that definitely has to come from cash flows.

No doubt they have done well over the last 2yrs in terms of dividend payout and overall performance. From 0.40k in 2021 to 1.40 or so in 2022, they paid 2.50 thereabout for last uear. Make nobody expect over 4 naira as dividend Sha if the chairman's statement is anything to go by.

For those seeking to trade their rights, access bank offers an option I am yet to explore.

Item 17 on the offer prospectus gives information on how to renounce and trade one's right, has anyone explored this option and filling share transfer form with their brokers. My only concern will be at what price it will be sold.

Good morning people.
2 quick questions please.

1. I've been trying to sell BUAFOODS stock since last week and it's not selling. Same thing with some other stocks. Please any idea what could be happening currently with these stocks.

2. The ngx trading floor level 4 real time access, is it better than using your brokers quotes? Does it display quotes before brokers do? What are the advantages?

Thanks guys
I'll answer your first question. I don't seem to understand the 2nd question.

Buafood is very illiquid (meaning there aren't as much buyers as there are sellers) whenever it is not rallying. Conoil, seplat and a lot of the companies with big price is same. Some companies with low prices are also in the same boat too.

If you need to get out fast, set your price @10% below current market price. You might get lucky to exit but not as fast as you think. If you use Morgan capital, you can use the "good until cancelled" option which allows you to set a maximum future date until your offer gets filled while not having to monitor the market daily.

Hello good people. Could someone give a smart analysis of Total Vs Seplat for medium to long-term investment? I need a second set of eyes. Thank you.

Business environment aren't the same. Total is in the downstream business(filling stations, lubricants etc) while seplat is into exploration and production of crude oil and gas

this bonus was rumoured earlier in the year and a lot of folks here had thought it will come with the FY23 dividend.

My worry will be share dilution is growth if growth is not like we have seen in nahco going forward. Dividend after now will be reduced.

"The fundamental law of investing is the uncertainty of the future."
Don't be too sure of what is going to happen.
If you were sure of the future, you would have taken the most difficult loans with the highest interest rate and invest same in NAHCO @N2.30, TRANSCOHOT @ 3.40, Transcorp plc @ N1, CWG pls @N0.9k, SEPLAT @N350.
Always remember that the future is the most uncertain in the fundamental law of investing.
The future depends solely on what we do in the present!

Those who bought nahco at the price you quoted are odogwu today. Most of the directors did same as well in 2020. Imagine earning dividend that is over 70% of your cost price annually. Fixed income rates anywhere in the world can't give you that.
