UBA's expenses for employees wages and salaries doubled in the qauter . That's a good thing to see. No be only directors emoluments go de increase upandan. CBN needs to allow the banks pay shareholders more dividends as well.

On NAHCO,

Excellent result by my own metrics. @currentprice @emmanuelewumi, what are your thoughts on the result.

I've got a few concerns to look at from the report.
Revenues increased from all areas under contracts with customers that contributed to the bottom line i.e passenger/aircraft handling, disinfection, cargo handling, etc. Are these from increase in fees charged to their customers or they had more businesses within the quarter. If these have to do with higher charges for services like we have seen with other companies jerking up prices due to higher cost of inputs or materials, I wonder how much longer it can be sustained to keep churning out great numbers every quarter. For people who fly frequently, with the rising cost of tickets, has there been increase in surcharges from your airlines. Thank you

NB: I am sitting on over 350% profit here with a dividend yield of 28%.

I thought nascon wasn't exposed to any foreign denominated loans from all their previous reports. Over 3bn booked as FX losses accounted for the poor Q1 result.

3.12 naira is the dividend payout. Better to sit inside Zenith or gtbank if one is a dividend hunter or even nahco sef.

Share price might be propped higher like geregu in the future anyway.

dangle:

Transcorp Power PLC was listed in March 2024 on NGX by way of introduction. Hence it was not captured in the 2023 audited report. It is an event that happened in 2024, which will be captured in their Q1 2024.

However, I feel strongly that those who have bought into it will receive the meagre dividend as long as they have bought it on or before the chosen future qualification day.

My 2 kobo understanding of the issue.

Oga, I still don't understand this merge? Why would the price value of my Agix be 0.4 while the other one is 2. something. So if my AGIX was 12k USD now they will give me something worth 4k USD?

If you multiply the quantity you have currently by 0.433 or so which the exchange ratio with 2.82( the planned listing price), you might or might not loose some money depending on what closing price is used to calculate on the day of the swap.

For example, you have 1000 agix tokens.

Your new $ASI token will be 1000agix *0.433350$asi = 433.350 $ASI.

Current $AGIX value: 1000agix token * $1.321/agix = $1321
$ASI Value: 433.35$ASI * 2.82/$ASI = $1222.047.

Hope this helps

If you are holding, AGIX, FET, or OCEAN on wallet, you’d need to transfer to exchanges for automatic conversion to ASI, before the conversion automatically takes place on exchanges. If you’re holding on exchanges, nothing to worry about, you’d have your coins in ASI automatically. Watch out as they proceed

I want to believe this has more to do with one's age wrt to risk exposure like @ginalex said. Thank you and to all the other contributors as well.

emmanuelewumi:

Personal finance experts believe we should subtract our age from 110 whatever you get is the percentage of your portfolio that should be in equities. Although I use 120.

Meaning if you are 30 years old. That is 110 minus 30 will give you 80. That is 80% to equities and 20% to fixed income
Investment / Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by debeey87(m): 12:21pm On Mar 26
If you have a stock portfolio of over 50m,

Will you sell to generate fixed income of at least 10m given current rates of over 20%. If not how will you balance your portfolio to also take advantage of bothe the ngx and fixed income rates. Total annual dividend from same portfolio is less than 4m

Good evening, everyone

Please, have a look at this ABC forecast for the 2024 Q2

Why is Marketing and administrative expenses in bracket - which implies negatives same with interest payable, operating activities cash flows. Is this to imply the company has no money of income finance this aspect of the forecast in brackets

Please 🙏 your clarification will be very appreciated. Thank you

Expenditure or money spent by companies are put in bracket on their financial statements. Marketing and admin expenses are monies spent in the course of business for the quarter. Numbers in bracket could also means a losses incured during the period under review while Income don't have bracket.

You can check investopedia on what elements make up an income statement. Many other items can be put in bracket in a financial statement.

Why do you think Tony and family bought back into transcorp last year. Whatever they sold at the time that post was made must have been bought between the time Otedola almost did a hostile takeover and when customs street told us here that some large purchases will be made at about 6-7 naira all within last year.

Because of the binance issue, a lot of persons might be sending usdt this period. If u are sending usdt, make sure u are sending to corresponding network address. Do not send erc20 to trc20 address, your money will be lost forever. Ensure receiving address corresponds with network.

Better to test the address with small withdrawal first before transferring the rest of the fund if they are not sure of their address. Better safe than sorry

Random thoughts

What is happening today with transcorp power was rumored here last year with some many thoughts.

Also bonus issue was rumored here for Ucap. I won't be surprised if that happens when they release their audited results and send the price to the roof.

but is it legal for the whole family to buy it?

Shares of any company are open to the general public irrespective of social creed or status as long as they are put up for sale either through IPO, private placement, right issue or secondary market. The family members bought through the secondary market just like other investors.

Regarding this Transcorp power Hullaballoo we should all chill , I believe if Tony plans not to include we shareholders of Transcorp plc in the new Transcorp power listing , his wife wouldn’t have bought large tranches of Transcorp shares about 3 -4months ago

Exactly my thoughts. Almost the entire family bought transcorp, uba etal last year. They might unbundle whatever holdings transcorp plc has in the power segment to it's shareholders like uacn did with updc REITs.
