SonofElElyonRet: When you add interim dividend of N2 that's well over 10% Without considering naira devaluation and inflation, people that bought UBA prior to 2020 are practically making free money from current dividend. |

Consolidated Hallmark closed above 3 today. Those who bought after the holdco thing are sitting on over 200% barely a year in. Other who bought when their Q3 was highlighted here should have made 100%. Hopefully they can pay good dividend from their shinny numbers |

ndept: Yes, you have a point though. But, do you think the company management don't know the state of the company financials? We see ONLY from our OWN point of view, what is 6 to you may be 9 to another person. Presently, as someone having Oando shares, I am looking at it from a different point of view. What I am looking at, is that holding a party of such magnitude is a pointer to the fact that all is now well, both now, and in the nearest future for the company. The management know what is in store (financially) for them and the company, that is why they have chosen to start the celebration.
Mine is to follow the money wherever it is in NGX, whether it is with cow or sheep boy or prodigal son, so far I can get mine from it. Meanwhile, the next 3 - 6 months will prove either the management and its critics right/wrong. Let's wait and see by then. Paying shareholders will resonate better. Same company is paying social media influencers to promote them. Which other E &P company have you seen doing same. I believe if they do well, the numbers will speak for themselves and they don't have to pay anyone to promote them |

Sunrisepebble: Nahco went on full bid today. My #1 source has been marketing it to me now for months and I’m still yet to buy. They did a facts behind the figures this week and they’re projecting 71bn revenue next year and 300bn (seems unrealistic tho) in 5 years They are a great company to have in your portfolio. The chairman hinted about their divestment plans to bring more value to shareholders during the last agm. Based on that they may not increase dividends at the same rate they have done over the last 2yrs or more. Their numbers have definitely been looking good and 300bn revenue might be an overkill but they're definitely doing something right in that business. Just my own observation |

Sunrisepebble: Like I said, majority shareholder is selling. They’re the only ones with such volume Thank you for the tip. They will have to sell more to meet the 15billion they are looking to raise. But if they want to come to the market for the balance, price will have to come up small. |

When Raysun sold to EnjoyCorp, my assumption will be full transfer of ownership of the 86.3% they had not selling on the floor. The next majority holder is Akwa Ibom investment Corp who from all indication aren't selling. Free float is 320,151,638. What they sold today is almost the entire free float. My assumption will be if they are the ones selling, it might be their way to raise the 15bln they are looking at for expansion |

Yesterday Champion brewery issued a notification for EGM to consider raising 15bln additional funds. If they're to go by way of right issue given the number of additional shares they want to allot, share price needs to rise to the region of 9-10 naira. However if they choose other methods like private placement, issuing bond or others, much won't happen to the share price. And they might do a combination of both. https://doclib.ngxgroup.com/Financial_NewsDocs/Champion_Breweries_Plc_-_Notice_of_EGM.pdf |

I bought after the bonus issue. Didn't buy it during the COVID era when it traded at 2.50. emmanuelewumi: How much did you buy it.
Nahco was begging for buyers at N2.50k in 2020. Gave a bonus of 1 for 5 in 2022 and paid a dividend of N2.56k in 2024 |

emmanuelewumi: I can say I got it for free, because at the post stock split cost price of N10 per share I have earned far more than that as dividends from 2017 till date.
It will still pay another N8.00 in November 2024 I am hoping nacho will one day be like this for me too. If they pay at least 3naira as dividend this year, that will be 50% dividend yield for me yearly. on top over 300% capital appreciation |

Surprised some folks are being called promoters. In the midst of the so called promotion, some of us still didn't buy. Emmanuelewumi for instance has been talking about aradel here even before sunrisepebble mentioned it. Same way he hinted about the possibility of wapco turning a good result for Q3. In the past he spoke about presco and okomu analyzing in his usual manner with fundamental analysis.
If price doesn't go below the 465 arrived at after the closing price on nasd was divided by 20, I don't see how any one that bought on nasd had made a loss except my math is wrong.

GeeKudi: Still a bad result, nonetheless. A stock trading at over 150 reporting an EPS of 0.39 or thereabout. One would have thought they will be minting money given the number of highway jobs they have in different parts of the country. Again those who pushes the price to over 150 know what they see in the business. At year end, they usually turn out excellent audited result though |

Raider76: But it really doesn't make sense in today's digitized business environment to lock up people's money for so long. They are behaving like the days when they had to write and mail physical share certificates for the bonus. If you can declare dividends and credit people's accounts in a month why not shares into CSCS accounts? In the case of UCAP they have already used the N6b they got from the retained earnings through the bonus issue to set up their UCEE.Mfb, leaving the shareholders hanging. It is unfair. Can shed more light on the 6bln you mentioned in your last sentence for Ucap. |
