how can you have two sanogoals in one team?
this is how we were hearing gist of kalou last year.

Don't worry about Kalou - till he retires from football his agent will continue to link him with Arsenal cheesy

Discuss what? That Wenger is playing Ozil out of position for Wilshere? cheesy

Answer a question please - what is David Silva's best position and where did he play against Liverpool?

debosky, let's be honest here - arsene wenger is a complete idïot. seamus coleman is the best right wingback in england & wenger's tactics was to put ozil on the left to stop coleman? does that make any sense to you?

Anyone who thinks Ozil was played there to 'stop' Coleman (or anybody else for that matter) is the one being idiotic. It's like saying Liverpool played Coutinho to 'stop' Zabaleta.

Pataki note - Ozil never 'drifted' to a natural role - he remained on the left which is where he exchanged passes with Santi for the first goal.

I don't know where these conspiracy theories stem from - Ozil now being played left because of Wilshere? undecided Didn't Ozil stay left after Santi came on? Or is Wenger also pushing Ozil to the 'wings' for Santi as well?

Ozil is playing where Na$ri/Silva played yesterday to devastating effect - that's what Wenger was trying to do.

As for Giroud, it's a pity, but maybe a blessing in disguise if it forces Wenger into buying a striker.

More pressing is the CB and DM in that order - I don't think Wenger will sign more than 2 players maximum, and my bets are still on the CB.

On the basis of the renowned University of California Berkeley - a renowned school with extensive discoveries in scientific endeavour stretching back to 1868. I have posted their view on the matter. What credibility does your assertion possess?

Pataki:
Sometimes I just don't understand Wenger. He made a number of tactical errors today which should never ever happen when playing a team like Everton.
We were simply lucky tonight and Ozil has no business starting from the flanks.

We were lucky yet it was Everton that scored from a debatable free kick and a pair of downright idiotic decisions by the lino and ref? I'd hate to see what you describe as bad luck. The same Ozil you're yabbing freed up room for Santi's cross by his mere presence.

Simply put, if you want to make the best use of Sanchez as a CF, your build up play must be much quicker to release him and allow Ozil to find him quickly.

I don't buy all the 'down the left' nonsense. How many shots on goal did Everton have all game? Yes Ozil could've done better for the goal but realistically that cross should never have come in with McCarthy in acres of space.

The main problem was in midfield, we just couldn't build moves quickly/accurately enough. Without that, it's difficult to create much against maassed ranks.

debosky, is that you? undecided

It is, trust all is well? smiley

Not really interested in size - more in having competent players required for each position. We can't afford to sell any of our forwards unless we buy one - that includes Poldi - because we just don't have sufficient goal scorers in that side.

Unfortunately that's probably one area I'm 95% confident we won't add anyone. We may get the CB but I fear that might be all.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by debosky(m): 1:04pm On Aug 22, 2014
Liverpool with arguably a better striker force than we have went out and bought Balotelli. . . Yet we're actually contemplating selling one of the few goal scorers we have in Poldi?

Month go soon end sha and we'll see where we end up.

No, but I didn't make the claim that transitional forms do not exist. smiley

On what basis have you made that claim?
Religion / Re: Darwin's Day by debosky(m): 1:19pm On Aug 21, 2014
What qualifies you as able to put transitional forms to the test?

Are you a biologist/zoologist or possess any skills (other than copy paste) to make an assessment?
Religion / Re: Darwin's Day by debosky(m): 10:08pm On Aug 19, 2014
But there are transitional forms. . .

http://evolution.berkeley.edu/evolibrary/article/lines_03

There are numerous examples of transitional forms in the fossil record, providing an abundance of evidence for change over time.

What do you have to say to that?
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by debosky(m): 10:01pm On Aug 19, 2014
Poor game in general, but good to keep a clean sheet. Alexis is mad rusty, Wilshere ponderous, Santi anonymous.

Glad Rambo is out of the second leg. . . he needs to get his head straight and back to basics.

Players dropping like rabbits - now Arteta is out.

CB first then DM then maybe another forward if we can find one.

Still confident of going through.

Dunno whether I'm keen on Rabiot - what role is he coming to play when we need other bodies?

Welcome back!

Even though I am a fan of Nani, I must say you were vindicated at last. SAF always said he preferred Val among all his wingers. He also gave him the no.7. Moyes preferred Val. Gaal prefers Val. Gaal's forerunners told us he would sell Valencia. I remember what you said, that Nani can never bench Valenica in Man United.

You were in the minority but you have proven that opinion based on majority is not the fact.

Kudos!

What nonsense. Valencia is still around because he is injured and because he will be played as a wingback. Besides, only players desired by other clubs will move, or is Smalling now a better defender than Vidic because Vidic moved on? Elampiro sense sha. undecided

There is no player that generates strong contrasting opinions like Rooney any more at Chelski. Remember the days of shekpe keeper or Lampard beefing?

Now it's at best some Hazard banter that doesn't go far.

wasn't he your highest outlay on a midfielder when he was bought? not even arshavin cost as much so as far as arsenal's little budget are concerned, santi was a marquee signing....

alexis na midfielder jare.......in the mould of david silva, nasri, ozil, kagawa or mata. even your FPL recognises him as a midfielder. fact remains the midfield has been united's blind spot for aeons & they need to pump funds into their midfield. if we spend £100m on our midfield, it won't be excessive.

What about Mata at £37m? Isn't he marquee enough? cheesy

When you add 29+37+27, aren't you hitting the £100m?

Santi is now a marquee signing? A £16m player from Malaga that the phat one from Chelski was insulting from pillar to post? cheesy

If Santi is a Marquee signing, you already have yours in Fellaini who cost nearly twice what Santi did. tongue

Ozil I'll accept as marquee, but Alexis is more of a forward IMO, and you already have marquee forwards in Rooney and RVP.

Elampiro is full of BS as usual - Liverpool played TWO strikers - there was no 'dominant' centre forward. This is what Brendan Rogers said:

"What I've found is that if I play one up top and one wide, I take a little bit away from them. They work better as a proper front two.
"In Suarez and Sturridge, I've got what I call two 'nine-and-a-halves'.
"They both like to move, they like to drift and they both like to go into the half-positions in between the lines.
"You've got two great players as your front two and then you build the structure around that.
"I'm not the traditional 4-4-2 man and with the players we've got we can make this system work.

But no - Elampiro knows more than the coach fielding the players. Mumu.

How anyone can say Yaya is better than Vidal is a mystery to me. Yaya that has Fernandinho doing all his dirty work so he can just run forward to score goals? So much so that Citeh has now bought another player Fernando to do dirty work as well?

How many goals did Yaya score as DM in Barca when there was no one to cover his arse?

How many players can put in the work Vidal does both offensively AND in attack at the same time?

elampiro:
* How many midfielders have 20 goals and 9 assists, world all over?

'Ordinary' Ramsey produced 10 goals and 9 assists last season from only 23 league appearances WITHOUT penalties or freekicks, compared to Yaya's over 35 games so what is the hype about Yaya T?

The Chambers as DM is baffling... I can relate to Chambers as a RB or CB but when he said he could do a job at CM, i went back and dug deeper.... He has the qualities.... then Wenger came up with this DM thing this week..... i tire

Last week it was CM, this week DM, next week it could be coach or striker!!!!! Mr Versatile Chambers hehehe

Make up your mind Wengay and stop dilly dallying!

It's simply a variant of the 'like a new signing' misyarning only that this time he's using one vastly inexperienced signing as cover in 3 places all at once! We all know what happened to Phil Jones when he was used as Mr 'I can play everywhere' - he regressed.

I think it's either a smokescreen or Wenger had one too many caipirinhas when chilling out in Brasil. He needs to detox and get back to drinking his usual French wine.

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by debosky(m): 6:28pm On Aug 07, 2014
Wenger has started with his misyarning again. . . .Chambers as DM ko Dosumu ni. Msheww. Wilshere as DM? Really??

Chambers is now covering 3 roles eh? That's how Bendtner got confuzzled playing as a winger and same reason Eboue was ruined. Stop all this multiple role rubbish and let players stick to a position and master it.

Y'all better hope this is a smokescreen to buy Carvalho and not a serious idea.
