A friend of mine is on a yearly tenancy but since she moved in her bedroom had water coming out underneath as a result of poor plumbing in the house which she complained and they the developer refused to fix till her rent was due.

They came to request for rent and she told them she won't renew till they fix the water coming out of the bedroom that have damaged almost all her things.

They pleaded that they need money to fix it, she then opt to pay for 6months renewal and if they able to fix the leakage she would balance. They came to hurry do a semi repair that didn't work and next thing they served her a quit notice with a grace of only one month after her rent due.

My question is can she challenge this in court?. And they came requesting for the rent balance and she told them the place is still like that and until they do the needful she won't pay.

So those it mean the quit notice they brought was illegal because why already serve quit notice and still want to collect rent.

Governor of Oyo State Abiola Ajimobi, addresses student protesters regarding closure of their school which had lasted over eight months.
In a highly embarrassing manner the governor bragged that he would not talk to the students, even on one occasion during the encounter ordered policemen attached to him to arrest a student leader but he was resisted.

My take: Gov. Ajimobi should learn how to address issues such as this especially from the likes of Obama.
From the way he addresses these protesting youth, it's obvious he lacks respect for human rights and dignity. We deserve much better than this.
Why do we have so many dictators in this continent? What those students displayed is the true reflection of our society - a society that lacks decorum, respect, and values. This is the kind of product you get from failed states with no proper planning in regards human capital development.

LAUTECH is jointly owned by Oyo and Osun, the two states that constituted old Oyo State before Osun was excised in 1991 to form a separate state.

The failure of the two states in fulfilling their shared funding responsibility provoked the workers to shut down the institution, just before the students were scheduled to begin their second semester examinations.
Osun, which has since established a university of its own, is the more guilty party in the failure to disburse funds as it owes bulk of the debts that have stalled the operations of LAUTECH.

The time has come when we, as a people, must stop, think and take very hard decisions. Gone must be those days when we get hoodwinked into falling for the same old traps of deceit, and failed promises.

As the date fast approaches for the September 10th elections in Edo state, we are once again faced with the risk of falling victim to monumental squander of our resources on elaborate, paid, rented, and hired crowds, for carnivals that are all noise and devoid of any content. No serious business can be run on the platform of speaking loud and saying nothing. It’s against this background that The Young Democratic (YDP) has come with a completely different approach in presenting a candidate for Edo 2016 elections.

First, the news should not be that our party is new, being that nobody has come from outside Nigeria to run the party, but that our philosophy and ideology is relatively new. It’s the philosophy & strategy that replaces power with service as our party ideology and guiding principle. We have decided – in choosing a candidate- to root for capacity.

Industrialization and job creation:
First, Engr. Nurudeen, thus maintaining a constant touch with home has made a success of his career, and made the country proud by his exploits in the Former Soviet Union- Ukraine. The biggest challenge of our youths today is unemployment and a lack of true role models. Engr. Nurudeen is a grass rooter and a Disparate that will bring companies and industries to provide employment for Edo population. Engr. Nurudeen has a strong global network that will turn Edo state into a preferred investment destination.

Social justice:
A young man that could survive under the socialist republic is one that understands social justice. Greed, inconsideration for the less privileged and insatiable appetite for wealth has turned our leaders against the people. Under Engr Nurudeen, the people of Edo state will be liberated and treated as human beings that deserve respect, consideration, security and welfare.

Religious tolerance:
Engr Nurudeen comes from an exciting Muslim-Christian background, and therefore has clear understanding of and tolerance for both religions.

His constituency:
Ordinarily, it would appear as political naiveté to expect a new governor from the constituency of the outgoing governor, but therein lies the way of the future for us as a people. It is within this context that excellence will overtake ethnocentrism. Edo governor must be for every Edo citizen, irrespective of ABCD tribe, clan, senatorial district etc. We daresay, therefore, he will lead the nation in this rebirth of excellence over ethnocentrism in our leadership recruitment process.

Trust & reliability:
For how long will we continue the vicious cycle of handing power to those we cannot trust, and immediately beginning the journey of complaining and regretting. Today, we have a man that is honest, bold, dynamic, professional and trustworthy. The time to wake up is now!

Peace & Unity:
There is a clear, visible and extremely worrisome dichotomy between three major parties, we need the Noah’s Ark, the bridge-builder. Engr, Nurudeen has no god-father, owes no one no special favours, has no sworn enemies, and therefore, stands the best chance to unite Edo into that cohesive machine that will be the most enabling environment for direct foreign investment

Finally, Engr Nurudeen subscribes to The Young Democratic Party’s( YDP) position of strategic responsibility transfer to the youth by promising to surpass the part position of 50% cabinet appointment to youths and 30% to women with his 60-40 (minimum) target. Engr. Nurudeen Inwanfero was born as a Prince in the Royal Families of Afokhia of Ihievbe Clan and Momoh Royal Family of Auchi Kingdom in Edo North, Edo State. He is happily married with Four Children.

As a youth, he was always noticed amongst his peers as a brilliant and focused young boy which earned him, at a very young age, a UNESCO scholarship to study Aviation Engineering after his secondary schooling at Emai Grammar School, Afuze, in the then Bendel State.

Also, he is presently a PhD candidate in Inter-regional Personnel University (MAUP) attached with the Presidency of Ukraine. Working with the Antonov Plant 410 at the Juliana district of Kiev-Ukraine as a licensed aircraft maintenance Engineer, he joined the First Russia-Ukraine Private Aviation Company after the fall of Soviet Union and was manager in-charge of lease of Aircrafts and Mi-helicopters for civilian exploitation.

During this period he traveled 38 countries of the world which exposed him to various countries’ cultures and international contacts. He was one of the pioneer concerned Nigerians that initiated the establishment of diplomatic relation of Nigeria with Ukraine, which earned him the appointment as Special Adviser to the First Nigeria Ambassador to Ukraine in 1999 made possible by his vast knowledge of the entire Eastern Europe.

As a founding member of Nigeria in Diaspora Organization (NIDOE), he held various executive portfolios in the Ukraine Chapter. He initiated various commercial, industrial and educational transactions for different Federal Government Agencies, State Governments and some Private sectors organizations between Nigeria and Europe.

He initiated the establishment of Ukraine-Nigeria Trade Alliance (UNTA) LLC to promote the transfer of commercial and technical know-how between the two countries. UNTA is a diversified socio-economic state of the art Holding company with 23 light and heavy duty companies as shareholders and partners.

Engr. Nurudeen Inwanfero relocated back to Nigeria finally since 2009. He joined the Alumni of Nigerians-Soviet Trained Graduates as a National Executive Member. He is a member of World Environmental Movement for Africa (WEMFA). His membership includes, Member / Executive in the National Think Tank committee on socio-economic and industrial development of Nigeria.

He is a Consultant for various companies in Nigeria and abroad and the Secretary General of Police Community Relation Committee (PCRC) in FCT command. He is the West Africa Representative of NZ-GROUP LLC, a multinational and Industrial Engineering consortium. He is the Foreign Operation Director- REPROM Nigeria Ltd., Consultants for rehabilitation of Ajaokuta Steel Company. He was Country Representative of The Wright Global Group USA (Investment and Finance Company) and Director, Foreign Operations for Aulic Group Nigeria Ltd., Concessionaires of the Lagos International Trade Fair Complex, Lagos.

Investment Package: Intensive Partnership with Edoites in Diaspora which is a main stream of funds coming into Edo (as 85% of Edo families have sons, daughters or close relatives leaving abroad) for an inclusive government to boost Foreign Direct investment in key sectors of Edo State economy especially in promoting our culture of the ancient Benin Kingdom through tourism which will also create more earnings for those in the hospitality business, handcrafts souvenirs, Etc. This will in turn also create jobs and empowerment of various entrepreneurs to make Edo one of the most welcoming places to tourists and foreigners.

3. Education: It is not enough to say we shall provide schools rather we shall continuously be training our teachers and lecturers first to have quality education and of course improve on the existing structures of education at various levels. We shall make books free from primary to University level.

4. Security: We shall Pursue increased community cohesion and civic identity through participation in social, political and cultural spheres. Tackling insecurity by adopting a more conventional and innovative technology for adequate and effective protection of lives and properties. Focus on equitable distribution of wealth, benefits and reduction in poverty with the attendant incidence of slums. Create a State that protects the rights of all.

5. Urban Renewal: We shall improve urban living, productivity, mobility and connectivity through the provision of adequate physical and social infrastructure.

6. Integrated Health Systems Strengthening: Primary Health Care (PHC) system strengthening, Social Safety Net Initiatives, upgrade of secondary and tertiary care centers.
