Dr John or whatever u call urself, ultrasonography is for radiographers who spent minimum of 5yrs in a university nd hv bn found worthy in character nd learning by dia institution of training. Upon graduation, dey tk an oath by dia national board to practice ethically while respecting d sanctity of human life in every condition.The board gives dem license 2 practice. they den embark on 1yr internship in a teaching hsptl after which dey go 4 NYSC. All in all, it tks a minimum of 7yrs to be a qualified nd licensed sonographer/radiographer. It is not smtin u can learn in few months nd besides, will u give ur subjects license@ d end of d training? who will employ a nurse as a sonographer?? U are a big scammer nd thank God Nigerians r wiser now. Try another method

undoubtedly, d most lucrative course in 9ja is medical radiography. l can bet my head dt dia is no jobless Radiographer in 9ja nd non earns below 90k

@phantom if l have not worked in Lagos, l would be tempted to believe ur lie abt Radiologists having there stamps bt that is not d bone of contention. I remember vividly during my internship in a fed teaching hsptl, some clinicians esp consultants would plead dt our most Senior chief in d dept (chief radiographer) should handle dia case. This is because he as good as knows it all as far as rdphy is concerned. If dis chief is made a consultant radiographer, l see no way it should be a problem to d gynaecologist, obstetrician, surgeon, etc because he consults in his own field nd doesn't interfere in others' fields. Likewise other professionals in other fields. lf d civil service law stipulates dt upon reaching level 15, one is entitled to become a director, how is dt suppose to be a problem to the docs. It's high time we saw ourselves as colleagues nd teammates in healthcare nd stop antagonising each osha. A basic med knowledge is dt d patient is d most important person in d hospital, let's consider dem 1st nd stop dis ego. thing

@phantom do u knw dt Dr Okechukwu Erondu of image diagnostics pH u mentioned dumped MBBS to study med radiography@ UNN. Do u knw Hw many docs he employed in his centre. U cited an exceptional case where a radiographer wrongly reported ur case to be a normal chest radiograph, u of all pple should knw dt even ur consultants r not immune to mistakes and who told u dt radiography is all abt x-ray nd CT(which u can't even handle) who Man's such modalities as MRI, radiotherapy, ultrasound, mammography, etc. Nobody is trying to take anybody's position bt 4 one to call a fellow team mate in d healthcare team "inferior nd unnecessary" as well as try to hinder his progress in his chosen field/profession is uncalled for nd unacceptable. G-H oh!!,although l spent just one yr in UNN b4 moving 2 UNEC in 2006,l rem nd miss so much Mbanefo hall(d den of gr8 lions),l rem how we nearly fought wt PG students in Nkrumah hall just cos dey culdn't allow us watch 9ja match in dia hall. l just wish 2 mk certain tins clear here. Health care is a team work nd members of d team include;doctors which l blv evrybdy knws abt dem, pharmacist who administer/dispense drugs nd most tyms correct d doctors as per d dosage,lab scientist who carry out most of d tests dt ensure proper diagnosis of disease conditions,physiotherapists dt tk kia of most musculoskeletal disorders,radiographers/medical imaging scientists dt man such procedures lyk x-ray,ultrasound scan,computed tomography(CT scan),magnetic resonance imaging (MRI),radiotherapy,etc, nurses nd midwives whom l blv evrybdy knws dia duty,dental therapist who do greater part of d work in dental clinic,biomedical engineers who repair hospital equipment as well as carry out quality assurance of d equipment. It's important 2 note that dis professionals are all university graduates certified worthy in character nd learning by dia institutions of training and licensed by dia professional bodies,most of dem equally did one year internship training in recognised health institutions(mostly teaching hsptls,specialist hsptls and federal medical centres) to gain enof practical xperience nd xposure in addition 2 d 1yr compulsory NYSC. Majority of dem had actually acquired further studies and training in dia various areas of specialty; if not for foolish ego,selfishness and wickedness,l see no reason Y a team member(in d healthcare team....doctors) shuld lord it ova a fellow team mate 2 d extent of calling dem 'less qualified',suppressing dia growth and denying some of dia basic/fundamental rights. D lst tin evry medical student is taught in sch is to recognise d patient as d most important person in d hsptl bt in d 9jerian context,l donlt think it is so. In summary,justice nd equity shuld be allowed 2 prevail and a level playing ground shuld be given 2 evry health personal no matter ur area of specialty. I rest my case
