PoliticsRe: Achebe Wrote Out Of Ignorance - Gowon by decepticos(m): 12:11pm On Oct 28, 2012
Fellow humans, grow a brain. I doubt any of u were alive then(the civil war) so let history rest, what lessons have we learnt? Achebe don write abi make The General and any other person write dia own. The General has his records and Achebe his. Me i just want to know what was gained and lost. So all you children(which i know 99.9% of you are) should stop all dis needless tribal slurs, because i know say 'if' riot start not to talk of war una go run leave naija or ur area leave d rest of us wey nor fit run. So end dis or hang. A man has his right to speak or shey na me 1st talk say OBJ resemble monkey?
CultureRe: Is Rap A Blueprint For Black Self Destruction? by decepticos(m): 8:13am On Oct 26, 2012
How come making a living off words become destructive, especially for blacks (i no know if na only the ebonics speaking ones, do d black, brits, europeans, africans and 'caribeans' apply)? On the other hand are there not other consumers of rap and are all rappers 'black by skin color'. Yes rappers may use violent word and paint very socially horrifying pictures, but it just reflects their immediate environ.
Eminem's bonnie and clyde
House of pain's Fed up
Mobb deep's Shook ones
and a host of other. Do others not pass a positive message or positive thought reflection, amongst which are
Mosdef's Mathematics
Slick rick's children's story
Common's Testify
Nas's Daughters
Gangstarr's Moment of truth
Tupac's keep ya head up
Dilated people's Kindness for weakness
Immotal technique's Dance with the devil the list is endless. If chief keef scares you men tupac may as well take you to hell. Its the consumers choice to buy and the label's to distribute and promote. Rap music inspires it you know what to listen for.
CultureRe: Is Rap A Blueprint For Black Self Destruction? by decepticos(m): 11:28pm On Oct 25, 2012
Self destruction ke! I recall a song which had a lot of 'old' acts (sorry no link) its title is Self construction the host artist was KRS-one, and the others i can recall are neyo, talib kweli, redman, methodman, bustarhymes and some others. Truth is you could listen to rap 'musically' and/or lets say 'technically'. Me i do both, thing is if i want the technical rap with a massge omo na ppl like Common, Talib kweli, Jean grea, mosdef, black thought, Nas, Big L, Kool G rap, these people make rap seem to be advance calculus, where other good rhymers and flow masters like Eminem, the notorious big those are the ones i know, then there are those with indept social and phylosophical message then Rakim, Guru of Gangstarr, the pharcyde, nas, tupac, grand master flash and the furious five. Then there are those who brag a lot and are out for a brawl a few are the infamous mobb deep, the Wu-tang clan, R.A the Ruggedman, LOTUG (lords of the undeground) and the gravediggas, then there is the fun crew A tribe called quest and digital undeground. (this wan wey e b like say wiki hand go show hia). All through though, what rap 2 me is, is constructive cos though it can be brain taskin, and even 2 grimmy the message is the food. Note every startup rapper always brags even b4 the paper rolls in e.g xibit's papparazi
b.i.g's ready to die
and even snopp dogg. Rap is as every other form of music you take what you wan and/or feel is good.
PoliticsRe: Nigerian Youths Are Lazy And Don't Read - El-Rufai by decepticos(m): 9:47pm On Oct 25, 2012
I study my very environment each day, does that make me unwilling to study. I read the faces of people i walk past i can tell their wants and even possibly there desires and am even providing an avenue to satisfy these wants, how does this make me a poor reader. The old i only seek for advice, the new i hold dear and i do know is nearer and i'm positively willing to change. I'm a Nigerian youth and just cos i dont know what you know, or what u expect me to know that don't make me poor intellectually.
