Nice debate. But it is a pity there are no two ways to heaven. If you like do millions of good deeds daily, you will receive the blessing here on earth if Allah is pleased to reward you but hereafter, forget you ain't going to get any benefit. If you die without believing in Allah you are a recipe for hell.
Sugar and salt are sweeteners, you can't put sugar in soup and salt in a tea and expected well done.
How do you expect the God you didn't recognise whose rules you flout to reward you? Who told you what you did was done according to his ways? Unto you your deeds.
Leave your atheism, its just a castle in the air.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Sheik Muhammad Ali Jabata by decisive(m): 7:17pm On Jun 19, 2017
Life itself is universal. Whatever one propounds there will always be supporters. Jabata or what he is is just an attention seeker. He's looking for followers and sad,he's seen many of them. Why don't he trek from Lagos to Ilorin, why is he sleeping on well plastered home, why is he walking on tarred roads, why isn't he perform his pilgrimage on foot.
He will soon fade away with his useless interpretation of religious issues.
Islam for Muslims / Seven (7) Benefits You Get When You Read Qu'ran. by decisive(m): 4:45pm On Jun 19, 2017
As-Salamu alaykum wa rahmotullah wa barakatuh.

In The Name Of Allah,The Most Gracious,The Most Merciful.

Surely the Qur'an is a complete Book. Lots have been said by great scholars by the eminence of the Book. We read it everyday in prayers. Few of us read it apart from prayer purpose. It is important we read The Qur'an everyday due to the benefits we will get. Mere reading it with pure intention and calmness without asking Allah (SWT) anything afterwards, you get benefits.
Here I,in my learning mind, list seven benefits you get once you read The Qur'an. These are the benefits, may Allah (SWT) reward us abundantly.

1) ILLUMINATION: You get answers to all that is bothering you. Getting answers from your Creator Who understands you most is invaluable Allah (SWT) says
AL-QASAS:2, Q 28:2: These are the verses of The Perfect Book which explains everything vividly.
And AL-SHU'ARA: Q 26: 2: These are the verses of The Perfect Book which tells right from wrong.
So,you get your paths illuminated.

2) COMPLETE FAITH: By reading The Qur'an often you renewed your faith and you perfect your faith. Qur'an says:
O ye who believe! Maintain faith in Allah and His messenger and in His perfect Book which He has revealed to His perfect messenger and in the scripture He revealed before. And who denies Allah and His angels and His Books and His messengers and the last day,he has indeed strayed far away(from the truth).

3) GUIDANCE: You are guided in your affairs once you read Qur'an regularly. How pleased would you be if somebody holds light on you. Allah (SWT) says ' This Qur'an, assuredly, guides to that which is most upright and gives to the believers, who do righteous deeds, the glad tidings that there awaits them a great rewards.' AL-ISRA: 9.

4) EQUITABILITY. Allah (SWT) revealed the Qur'an to meet the requirements of every individual. So,the Qur'an knows your everyday needs and you meet them by reading the Qur'an often. Allah says in AL-SHURA verse 17 that ' Allah is He Who has sent down The Perfect Book, suiting your requirements, with the lasting truth and equitable law. How should you know the hour may be near at hand.'
5) BLESSINGS: You also get innumerable blessings. All blessings you can think of. You get more of comforts and peace, and many more. This is stated in Suratul SÃD verse 29
'(Behold! This Qur'an is) a great Book which we have revealed to you, full of excellencies,so that these (people) may ponder over its verses and so that those gifted with pure understanding may take heed.'
6) HEART COVERED IN ALLAH'S LIGHT: You also have your heart and soul cleansed. You are delivered from all forms of darkness and you're brought to the ultimate light.
' (In the form of) An eminent messenger who recites to you the clear revelation of Allah, which tells the right from wrong and thus bring those who believe and (accordingly) do good deeds, out of all darkness into light. And he who believes in Allah and does good deeds, He will admit him to the garden serves with running streams to abode therein for ever, Allah has indeed made a (very) handsome provision for him.' AL-TALAQ: 11. And finally,

7) HEALING AND MERCY. By making The Qur'an your companion all the time you also get healing from all bodily and spiritual afflictions and so many others, thereby, you get shrouded in Allah's mercy. Al-Qur'an 17: 82 attests to that:
'And We are gradually revealing the Qur'an which is (the cause of ) healing and mercy for the believers. But this revelation leads the unjust from loss to loss'.

May Allah make it easier for us.

Wa salamu alaykum.

Islam for Muslims / Best Ways To Read Quran by decisive(m): 5:52am On Jun 11, 2017
As-salamu alaykum wa rahmotu Llah wa barakatuhu.

Al-Quran is no doubt Allah's book. It is a guide,a healer and blessing to all of us. Verses confirming its purity and sanctity are numerous. We read it daily,on obligatory prayers,on our private prayers,on delivering sermons. We also read it as a form dhikr,Allah's remembrance. However, reading it helps us in the following ways:
1) It illuminate our souls. It takes us away from darkness into light.
2)It raises our awareness of what Allah enjoins on us. We know dos and donts required of us.
3) We judge whatever we are passing through from the stories of the prophets illustrated therein. This helps us to know whatever happened to us actually happened to people of yore.
4) It entrenches our taqwa. It raises us on fear of Allah and direct our actions to Allah alone.
5) It tells us the temporal benefit of our lives and the ever consequence of whatever good or bad deeds we do here.
6) It tells us to submit totally to Allah and it gives us precedents of those who disobey Him as to what happened to them.
So,my brothers and sisters, how do we read Qur'an?
Mere reading the Qur'an has rewards but it may not reinforce your faith as expected. Thus,it is good for u to have the knowledge to read and understand it. How do we go about it? What are the tools we need?
TOOLS.
1) Our pure intention
2) Piety
3) A Qur'an for those who are well versed in Arabic language or Arabic and English Qur'an for those of us who don't understand Arabic language.
4) A clean and noise free environment.,and
5) The thought that it is a rewardable work.

( To be continued.
Looking Forward: Next,we will be talking of how to read Qur'an to gain maximum benefits, how to adapt it to our private prayers.)
Wa salamu alaykum

Literature / Re: Tell Us About Your Favourite Book by decisive(m): 8:05pm On May 08, 2016
I have read few books. From Pacesetters series I mostly like On The Road by Kalu Okpi,Dead of The Night by Philip Phil Ebosie. I think on Ergret publications,I cherish Flowers and Shadows by Ben Okri because of its trappings. On African Writers Series I like Ngu'gi Wa Thiog'o 's Weep Not Child. It is too classy. Likewise,Measuring Time of Helon Habila,a wonderful piece.
I love the artistic masterpiece of Salman Rusdie's The Moors Last Sigh,a mixture of confusing sentence with artistic illustration. Of all Ludlum books,I pick The Matarese Circle as my best. Hardly Chase's Double Shuffle almost got me confused. The Luxus of Sheldon takes me through the havoc of matrimonial breakup. Anytime I read The Client of Grisham I marvel at how he came up with the idea.
There lots I don't remember. On history just of recent,Choice of Enemy. And most recent Nguigi's book Wizard of The Crow as it relates to Africa.
Books are blessing.

Romance / What Is The Right Words When You Have Love. by decisive(m): 6:03pm On Dec 05, 2015
THE WORDS OF LOVE.
Follow me,don't mind. Though it is a bit long buy you 'll enjoy it. Just a factual musing.

Love sha! That unrelenting intoxicant. The thing ehn, pass drug. So,how do you say you have love for a person? You say 'I am in Love', or 'I fall in Love'?. As I fall in love now with this 96 Set. I am still falling. So,ladies, somebody fell in your love, and you guys, somebody is in love with you. Issokay!
Me the word 'fall' dey worry me. How do I fall?. Nobody wants to fall. Fall ke? No be 'fall' we call am? Fall as in how World Trade Centre went away. Sebi fall, going vertically down noni. Who easily fall oooo. Hian, the goal keeper. Yet he manage soft landing, otherwise there is a fracture.
Oooookay! I get it now. Some people now say there is no love. Why? Because nobody wants to injure him/herself in love. Some say love is wicked, because if you fall you pick your bones. That word 'fall' is unpleasant. Why won't people 'go down in love'? You know, kind of you willingly turning in yourself to love at a known speed, unlike 'fall',sudden crash. 'Go down', that is mild. While one is going down,he may laugh at it,some fun but heart rendering noise like 'aaaaaaah' tells people one has fallen.
Where are you? Okay, follow me o. Now we say 'fall in love' do we say the person is defeated by love,as in 'fall in war? Which fall, again! And if it means defeat, is that why some people say they are jilted. Another way of saying his/her tactics of love(you know war tactics) defeat me. Na wah o! Is that why people say, love is bigger than war.
Assuming someone falls(as in crash) 'in' love. Not 'on' or 'onto' but 'in' or 'into',then another palaver. If he falls on love,he's not immersed,if onto,he's not immersed also. But a fall 'in',one is being enveloped. Total coverage. Is that why people don't reason when they fall in love?Hian?! Is that why? Because he's in a pleasant darkness. He's seeing nothing. Haba, love dey wicked, abi?
What if one falls in an unpleasant love nko? Love that smell like incinerators! That Terry G 'kony kony' love. And my girl or guy falls in. Is that why his/her ex- runs away from him/her. Does unpleasant love smell? Answer na,no be Q I dey ask you? As rectitude, one who fell on unpleasant love (double wahala) needs to clean up. Bath. Ehen. Use creams. Ehen. Wear cologne. Is that why such people always overshine? Their teeth smiling but their head and heart hardened. Some who fell into unpleasant love when people are watching are 'smelly',the dirts hanging on them like dirty rags on the hooks, smile like sheep that enters trap. Those ones they become shy. They fear should people say ' there you go again, abi'.
Another way. You say 'I am in love', that's cool, heen. That is continuous. You are still there. Not done yet. If you're married, you're in love. For better for worse you're in. Sorts of 'I am in here enjoying' or 'I am in here. Don't know what to do. I sign to fate'.
So,what is the appropriate word to be used for having love?

Its just a musing. You get the drift?
Literature / Re: Which Book Are You Currently Reading? Share Some Thoughts! by decisive(m): 8:19pm On Oct 09, 2015
I have read lots of inspirational books. They are not my favourites anyway. I have just concluded a book titled: A Choice of Enemies:America confronts Middle East by Lawrence Freedman.
It is very informative. It talks about the volatility of Middle East, how the region has always been the albatross of the super powers. The influence of Moscow on the region, and how the region defeated Russia.
It also explained how The Washington was drafted into the slippery politics of oil, relifion and self recognition of the Arabs. It important to note that the more the US tried to foster peace the harder she fell and the more sinister the US appeared. The politics defeated virtually all US presidents from President Ford.
You can easily deduce that third world war will undoubtedly come from Middle East,it will a clash of civilisation,a fight on different interpretation of freedoms. Without,Isreal crises,Middle East would have been peaceful but US sympathy for Israel derobes US of an unbiased umpire and it makes her an object of attack.
More revealing is the death of Saddam Hussein. Though,he was bullish, but it was a case of calling a dog bad name to hang it.
Freedman did an investigative job, equipped with facts and evidences,he writes the book in a compulsive way.
Get a copy. Its only 540 pages of well documented fact with analytical expertise.
