HealthRe: Share Your Experience(s) With Nigerian Doctors by DECLAN2015(m): 2:35am On Nov 27, 2019
Analog95:
In the year 2017, my 6 month baby developed seizure (I have forgotten the medical name for it) in the middle of the night and with the help of neighbours she was revived back to life. then early morning around 7am i and my wife rushed to Oni and sons hospital in Ring road, Ibadan.
when we got there, they said we need to register and collect card and other stuffs like that and the person that is suppose to give us card haven't come. around after 8. and being my first child and no experience yet I was already crying. I never knew I wasn't strong self, even the mother feels stronger than me that day. so I moved closer to one of the woman that works there that she should help me so she gave me the contact of a doctor that he is the assistant director of the hospital but also has his own private hospital in Oriya after challenge. so we rushed there. on getting there he said we should deposit 25k so that he can start treating her which i went back to challenge to withdraw and pay immediately. we are in the hospital for more than 2 weeks yet he keeps treating her and this baby is not showing signs of getting better. it got to a point, she will be cold outside and when you check her temperature it is 39.°
after two weeks I just change it for him that I'm taking my baby away from there that he never even tell me the problem and he keeps treating her and he said she has meningitis. wait how could a baby who is having seizure like she fainted be having meningitis even as a graduate of mechanical engineering I know that is never meningitis so I told him I'm withdrawing her and he said I cannot withdraw her. I was like, it is like you are mad sir. After paying 25k and bought drugs up to like 20k and I'm not seeing change you said I can't withdraw her. should I leave her to you then. this idiot start telling me he is an advocate of children. and I was should I involve the police or you feel like being unfortunate. so he said I will have to fill a form that I was the one that withdraw my baby and I will pay 37k for the 2 weeks we used in the hospital which I did immediately and left. Today my baby is exactly 3 years old she celebrated her birthday today 26th of November. the funny thing is that my dad just told me to use one herb for her, Agbo Iletutu(the Yoruba's understand that). Infact if i see that doctor tomorrow, I can pay people to beat him up.
It is obvious you are just being emotional because of your baby
Tell us d full story
What eventually is your baby diagnosis
Where did u take him to after that place I believe it not church of herbalist house.

If he was treated by another doctor and he got well
Dont u thinks you were suppose to mention the doctor or the hospital too and praise them

You people tell half story and embellish it to make yourself happy

Poor diagnosis and wrong / high dosage administration of medication is the greatest problem with Nigerian doctors. If I am president tomorrow every medical practitioner will be check for proficiency regularly. Pharmacists and doctors must worked together. Pharmacist must respectfully review the dosage of medication administered to patients. Doctor must consult with lab scientist to get a proper diagnosis. All health and medical workers must work together. I have a comprehensive plan already for them.
It is obvious you dont know what you are talking about.
Nigerian should take there health serious
They should stop presenting to the hospital after doing self medication, patronising herbal concoction and kind of self medication
Then when thi vs go wrong they blame d dr

They were just using that woman as a scapegoat.

Her supervisor didnt show up and left her to look after like 50 patients alone. Then they allowed him to fly back to Ireland

The staff swapped the boy to another bed without informing her. The bed they moved him to had an order saying not to resuscitate if the patient fell unconscious and thats how he died

Thanks
I said there are lots of half stories and embellishment just to paint doctor bad

Patient are highly emotional and they tend to look for someone to blame when things go wrong
And dr are the one in the best position to blame.

The people who wanted to sack her are a bunch of racists.

She is a stupid doctor too abi
That you have bad experience doesn't mean you just have to generalised.
We have wonderful health workers just like you have good one and that cut across all profession

It would be an error of fallacy to say all dr are bad

Nigerian Doctors are quacks .

When my brother was sick sometimes ago, Nigerian Doctors (both private and government) were treating malaria until we went to a medice seller in our area who adviced us to do TUBERCULOSIS test.

My brother was actually suffering from tuberculosis and Nigerian Doctors were treating malaria and collecting a lot of money from us.

We did the TB test and Treatment for free courtesy WORLD HEALTH ORGANIZATION.

When you are sick please don't listen only to Nigerian Doctors, seek advice from other people .

Thank me later.
Wonderful advice
Just seek advice from other people

So the person that diagnosis him.what is he?And you are telling people to seek advice from other people.

Just listen to yourself
They 'destroy'his leg

Why do u still have your own leg since a dr will just look at you and destroy your because your leg is plastic

Stop telling us half stories.

Hated them ever since but still I know there are good ones among the bad eggs
They said she had a placenta after giving birth....went to different hospitals and they so nonchalant about the whole thing....
she gave up the ghost after so many trials
Where did she gave birth
A lot of half stories and embellishment just to make your story nice.

I believe she came in a very bad state and u want dr to perform miracle.right?

Any relationship should know where its heading after 1 year. I'm sure we all know Teddy A is not the sort of man to be blackmailed into marrying any woman because she's pregnant, otherwise he would have married his baby mama. He had the option of making her another one of his baby mamas, but he choose the path of marriage with her. Let's all wish them well and rejoice with them
Good submission

Who would be surprised when the Nigerian Medical Association has become a political body oppressing other health care professions rather than press for quality medical education and hospital and health care excellence.
When the best medical experts have been frustrated out by influential(politically connected) mediocres physicians.
Why is hospitals and health care in such a disarray? When All Health commissioners in all states are medical doctors,
When all Health advisory committees to all govt at every level is almost if all medical doctors
All ministers of health are medical doctors.
If a system is failing when only one set of professionals are in charge at all levels, wether administative or o5herwise, we should ask why?
It has become an issue dominance rather than team work that health care systems are meant to be. It's now a matter who gets the money....
.u are commiting a fallacy.Doctors are human being too.
