Are u also counting over bloated number that UNN are admitting to study medicine? So u are counting the money induced numbers that UNN used to admit as part of the medical intake. The last I know, the number of quota for medicine there is less than 180, where did they come about 500 for medicine and 120 for dentistry. I learnt from some of their students that even with 200 in utme, u can gain admission to study medicine and dentistry so far u can pay. Even university of Ibadan with the highest quota don't admit as such. Let's see where MDCN come in.
Inferiority complex is disturbing those guy

The number is dubious and we all know it is fraud just to generate funds

Lol what is the meaning of this nonsense. What matters is how many actually graduated and get inducted into medical profession.

The best university in Nigeria with best facilities and best lecturers throughout the continent which is UI wont admit more than 15O students but one agulu university in that region will admit 500 in a dubious way and they think its an achievement. Funny people grin
Exactly
How is admission to college of medicine now become achievement.....after all 50% ll rushed to their small london Lagos after graduation......the surge in admission over their is for the university to generate funds

[quote author=UHLmoving post=129124579]Before the Civil War, the Igbo occupied most of the government offices because they had the number for the most educated. Then appointments into public offices was on merit, not the nepotism we see today.

Awolowo in a bid to catch up with the Igbo in education had to declare free education in the southwest.

Despite the several years of government-induced setbacks, the Igbo are topping the ranks again.

Surely the Igbo are undefeated.

She is an agbado, not an obedient. I'll tell you why. Number 1,Yoruba who are obedients in fact insults Yoruba who supported Tinubu more than Obidents. To them, it's very painful that most of their people supported this failure and the reason the country is in a mess.

To any sensible Yoruba, they know it's an insult for this country to be in this mess when the Yoruba race has capable minds like Osinbajo, Akinwunmi Adessina and Olusegun Aganga, who would have done exceptional well as Obi or even better. This is the pain of many sensible Yoruba, Yoruba is now a laughing stock. Even Buhari up until May 29, did exceptionally well than Tinubu.

Number 2, this lady if you watch the video claimed Tinubu won 66k votes in Anambra, that alone is enough to know she is an agbado to have believed that or even open her mouth to say that. The fact she would even nurse the idea that 66k people voted for Tinubu in Anambra, which is not even possiblein the entire SE, is an insult to Igbo people. It's not about tribalism, Obasanjo won over 90% of the SE vote in 1999 and 2003, so nothing to do with tribalism but yoruba bringing out competent candidates.
You are pathetic and is so convenient for you to change narrative as it suit u.

PoliticsRe: Hardship: Perform Your Lagos Miracles - Solomon Dalung Taunts Tinubu by DECLAN2015(m): 6:51pm On Feb 20, 2024
franchasofficia:
Bola Tinubu was the worst performing Governor Lagos state ever had but because he was good at using thugs, voodoo powers, high level occultism and money politics to hold on to political power in Lagos since 1999, ignorant Yorubas then attributed Tunde Fashola's success to Tinubu.

The truth some Nigerians failed to understand is that Tinubu was never an excellent leader anytime any day. It was pure tribal-religious sentiments that made some Nigerians to vote for Tinubu at all. If Southwest was a country of its own, Yorubas will never elect Bola Tinubu as their President. They only supported Tinubu because they felt he is the only Yoruba person that had the wealth and political influence to overshadow Peter Obi from becoming the President because majority of Yorubas from birth swore that an Igbo man will never rule Nigeria and nature has been fighting for Igbos by making them understand that they are wrong and need to repent of such evil mindset.

Yorubas were just ignorantly attributing Lagos individualistic successes (whereby all Nigerians from all tribes were coming together in Lagos buying up lands, building mansions, setting up businesses, opening companies and living mainly because of the opportunities Lagos offered as Nigeria's commerce center even before independence) as Bola Tinubu's making. That was the mistake most of you Yorubas made during the 2023 Presidential election

If you analyze the successes of all the past and present Governors of Lagos, Tinubu's performance comes least, Tunde Fashola comes first under democratic dispensation, Ambode second and mostly in infrastructural development. But Tinubu only consolidated power by empowering Agberos he used to rig and win elections. Tinubu is only a master in rigging elections and confiscating power, nothing else.

Lagos is like a child born into a billionaire family, so the possibility of the child becoming rich and successful is very high compared to other states who are like children born into extreme poverty and lack.

Lagos have everything that any state or even nation needs to succeed; favorable geographical location (border state), an ocean-surrounded state, commercial center, a former national capital with lots of favorable federal government policies focused on making it work. But you all attributed all these to Tinubu who weren't even born when Lagos became a success of its own, that was the mistake.

Without Tinubu's grip on Lagos state since he left office as Governor in 2007, Lagos would have advanced beyond where it is today honestly. In fact, if Nigeria had visionary leaders as a nation, Lagos and some other Nigerian top cities ought to have full functional tunnels, and subway transport systems. This metro being worked on in Lagos now ought to have been completed like some years back.

Danfo and all those rickety Yellow buses and Molue shouldn't have been operating in Lagos by now. Lagos ought to be competing with top African cities like Johannesburg, Cairo, Casablanca, Cape Town, etc.

So stop mentioning a mediocre like Tinubu on the same page with excellent leadership, Tinubu doesn't have such capacity. He can't even communicate eloquently and consistently.

Excellent leaders are wonderful communicators. Go and study the history of great leaders that turned their nations and cities around, they are always communicating their plans and agenda to their people.

But take a look at Buhari and Tinubu, they feel too big to talk to Nigerians and you are here calling such a callous mediocre man an excellent leader just because he managed to amass wealth through all forms of criminality and illegality which he uses to buy his way politically, it is well sha.

Thank God time is exposing him to the whole world

Ugbe I have told you severally go and read the works of Gregyboy everything you seek for is up there

Are you aware that that edo state was once in the western region if you remember or you read your history books correctly then you shouldn't be asking why some yoruba idols are found in benin

The idol like ogboni was introduced to the edos when we were in the western region politician in the western region had to belong to this confraternity to gain power and influence, again ogboni its an oyo idol not ife another bubble to burst your ife myth before you start thinking your oromiyan shit from ife

2) sango, orunmila ifa were introduced to benin by edo returnees from areas what we now call indo and ekiti today, oba eweka 11 ascended the throne in 1914 after the death of his father oba ovaramwen he begged edo merchants chiefs who had been overseeing and exchanging trades in the west before the Benin invasion that brought down the empire and gave rise to the new country Nigeria. to return home to help him rebuild back the destroyed empire caused by the war
Most of the edo families who returned back brought in this foreign idols, they brought in the yoruba names that will hear today in benin

For the title oba

That is an edo title

Your brain they pain you.... undecided ugbe to even think otherwise if you're not disguising as edo

You're saying the oba should also be having ogie as is title like his fellow Duke is that sensible, even in the British monarchy everyone else who is related to the royalty bears duke(enogie) and only the head bears the title king or queen so are you expecting the oba of benin to also bear the word enogie of benin if so then the oba of benin would be as equal with the rest Duke which we know is not possible ....

It's only the yoruba monarchy that they have their original title and then decided to use a generic title for themselves which is absurd and weird for having two titles this can be explained because the title oba doesn't belong to them it entered their lexicon sometime, and they found it fancy and decided to use it for their titles you don't need me to tell you why they loved the name, of course the oba of benin influence over them before the collapse of empire was prominent

This is the absurdity in yoruba title

Let's take owo as example
General title : Oba
Indigenous title is: olowo of owo
The Duke : baale

The only off thing there is the general title oba which they all decided to be incorporating into their original titles after the ooni of ife in 1930 first adopted the world Oba to his title the rest followed

This is how monarchy are structured around the world

Title : oba of benin
Duke : enogie

British :
Title : King
Chiefs : Duke

You want everyone to spoon feed you one of the reason I believe you're yoruba
Oba and bake actually have similar meaming
CultureRe: Benin-ife Relationship Explored by DECLAN2015(m): 5:02pm On Dec 04, 2023

It's the yoruba and other group that copied from Benin as you have just explained. As of today, no one is disputing the Benin Origin of the titles you just mentioned but don't be surprised when the story changes in another 100 years. The confusion with the Oba title is because whilst it was restricted to the Oba of Benin for centuries, the yoruba have domesticated and popularize it in the last 50 years, that it's Benin origin is now in doubt amongst some.

The reason scholars such as Ryder had difficulties with the Benin/Ife connection was because the two dynasty and artistic culture were very different from the material evidences they studied.

Benin as a center of culture and a melting pot have changed and continues to change over the centuries because of the exchange of cultures between various groups within the city. People from the hinterland such as Ugo, Urhonigbe whose culture have remained largely unchanged for centuries may confused the amalgamation of cultures in Benin city as foreign to them.

This confusion is why some is ascribing the origin of obaship to yoruba because the title is now shared between Benin and Yoruba. I am sure none of these guys can point to Ife monarch using the Oba title until recently, how can people argue that Benin got the Oba title from Ife when history cannot show us evidence of kingship in Ife until recently.

At best the Ooni was said to be a chief priest and the spiritual leader of the yoruba people, not the King. It was the Alaafin that the Europeans met on ground in 1824 as the king of the yoruba people, he was also the one that signed the treaty with the British on behalf of his yoruba people.
This is appalling.
Yoruba strat the word oba
What is the meaning of oba in bini .....something that shine...while in yoruba it mean Lord .
Tell me which is close to the meaning king.
CultureRe: Benin-ife Relationship Explored by DECLAN2015(m): 3:30pm On Dec 04, 2023

Benin goes back into antiquity. I am sure you read the burial of an Oba of Benin that was written about in the 1500s. The writer said the tradition went back to ancient times, meaning Benin already had an ancient civilisation as far back as the 1500s. Did you read the summary of Ryder I just posted, read it. If Benin had any connection with the people that later became yoruba (oyo) it would have been in the Nupe-Igala Niger Benue confluence like Ryder postulated.

Also stop assuming that Oba is yoruba in origin. Every yoruba rulers had their individual titles such as Ewi, Eleko, Ooni, Alaafin, Olu, Baale etc, until very recently.
Oba is a word for lords
Not a title
Every king I'm yoruba is automatically an oba

Olofin Ogunfunminire was the first Oba of Lagos

Olofin Ogunfunminire brought his own Crown from Ile Ife with him on his Migration and Lagos Island and Mainland was under him and he is a Crowned Oba

The Current Oba of Lagos is actually an exalted Baale because Baales are District heads while real Obas are rulers of SubTribes or Yoruba Clans like Egba,Awori,Oyo ,Owu.
Isale Eko is a district of Lagos Island

Ogunfunminire was a real Oba

That is why it was him who gave
Aromire his Son Lagos Island

Olofin Ogunfunminire who gave Lagos Island to Aromire his Son Wears an Ife Beaded crown

Olofin Ogunfunminire was the first Oba of Lagos since Lagos Island was under him

Thank you! You have written like the true son of your father and as a wise man from the east. I fully support your idea that the two regions be shared between the we the ijaws and the Igbos. That to me, is the easiest way to finding peace as long as this matter is concerned. But again, I expect that the concerned people in the two regions have the sole right to decide whose side they would go. But still, that must come after the real facts have been established, whether they are of the ijaws or Igbos, for the sake of history and posterity.
As an Ijaw man myself from one of the key clans, I find it awkward hating the Igbos; in fact, you guys have been our big brothers watching over us as far as this Nigeria project is concerned. I can only imagine the situation we would have found ourselves if you the igbos didn't exist in the equation. We would have been forgotten identities, subdued by both the monstrous religious and tribal beasts roaming the entire country. Even if no one would admit, I will. Even on the level of political affiliations, or to culture, we have more in common, than any other group of persons or association. And even till tomorrow, this relationship will remain static.
Sadly, the lack of commonsense and hatred pervading the ijaw people towards the Igbos are out of immaturity and as a result of brainwashing. But I do pray, that one day we can really form the needed allegiance to confronted our more common enemies.
Good talk
But they themselves should look inwards and correct their inherent abnormality
