I sometimes wonder why our military are finding it difficult to take the counter terrorism war to boko haram's stronghold. Why are they(Military) waiting for the insurgents to be on the offensive while the military on the defensive?

The truth is that the inability of our military to take the war to boko haram's stronghold and crush them is the MOTIVATION of the insurgents to unleash more deadly attacks on Nigerians. The insurgents are feeling on top of the world knowing that they are on the offensive while the Nigerian troops on the defensive.

Imagine what would have happened if our troops took the war to the insurgents earlier before now; am sure Bama and other towns in the North East would have been enjoying peace in their domain by now.

White House and Aso Rock are promising Nigerians milions of dollars for information about Iman Abubakar S. These people are not serious at all. Where on earth are we to see that guy? In shoprite, bank, public transport or market? I am 100% sure that they knew where he is but have refused to go after him.

Before, our security agencies will go after a criminal in his hideout and arrest him but in the case of boko haram they (military) will rather wait for them at the junction to fight them but refused going after them.

During the civil war, our troops took the war to Biafra. Why can't they do the same now? Is boko haram more equiped than Biafran troops? Ojukwu was tagged a Rebel because they declared a Biafran nation from Nigeria and hell was losed against him until he was defeated. Boko haram is also committing the similar crime committed by capturing Nigerian towns and declaring an islamic state yet nobody wants to take the war to them and crush them?

Christianity EtcThe Anointing In You: Part One by DeCleff(op): 7:24pm On Sep 09, 2014
What is, "The Anointing? By David A. Depra

Down through the church age many have come claiming to be, "anointed of God." This
is supposed to mean that they are chosen, commissioned, and empowered to do God’s work. Usually going hand and hand
with these claims are
demands that other
Christians submit to them. The verse usually given for this is either Psalm 105:15, which
says, "Touch not mine
anointed, and do my prophets no harm," or David’s refusal to kill Saul is used as an example.

This is an important issue, not only because we need to see what, "the anointing," is NOT,
but because we need to see what it IS.

The Anointing

These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which you have received of him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall abide in him. (1 John 2:26-27)

According to the apostle John, each believer has THE ANOINTING abiding in them. Sure. This has to be the case, because unlike OT times, each believer has Christ in them – and Christ is, "The Anointed One."

Now, this is SO important to
understand that John tells us that the reason he is writing this is so that, "no man seduce
us." John is trying to show us that we don’t need a guru, a wise old man, or someone who
claims to have a special
anointing from God. We don’t need to partner with a
ministry, or plant a seed into a ministry, or join a movement, in order to, "partake of the anointing." These lies are being taught today! Rather, John
says, "I want to tell you this so that no one will lead to astray by claiming you must follow them if you want the anointing. I want to tell you that if Christ is in you, you
already have it – HE IS THAT ANOINTING."

John was an apostle. But read the above passage again. Does it sound like he was telling his readers to come to HIM as a guru? No. He did what any true minister of God will do – he teaches the believer that they have all they need, as individuals, in Christ. He shows them what Christ means, teaches them how to walk in
Christ, and does all he can to set them free into a personal
relationship with Christ. John knew that he could not, "impart," an anointing, and
wanted to make sure that his readers would not be deceived by anyone claiming they could.

I am hearing more and more on Christian television suggestions to the effect, if not
direct teaching, that there is such a thing as an, "imparted anointing." Ministries are teaching that if you give them money, that their anointing from God – which includes
health and prosperity – will be imparted to you. But this is nothing short of the selling of
indulgences. It is herresy and an abomination in the eyes of God. There is not such thing as an, "imparted anointing."
There aren’t MANY anointings. No. There is only Christ in us.

Christ in each individual believer through the Holy Spirit
is THE ANOINTING. There may be variations as to ministry, as to gifts, and as to function. But
as Paul said, "There are many gifts and functions, but the SAME Spirit." Once we make
the anointing a THING we think God has given us, instead of the Person who dwells in
us, we are on dangerous ground.

>>>>> Jesus is Lord<<<<<<

In the final analysis, there is only one way to come under the fullness of, "the anointing:" To come under the Lordship of
Jesus Christ. Indeed, that is the purpose of the Holy Spirit, to make Jesus Lord of each of
us. But not just as a fact. Rather, the Holy Spirit wants to make Him Lord in practice.

So we have this: "The anointing," is CHRIST IN US through the Holy Spirit. Each believer therefore has this
anointing. However, to truly come under the fullness of this
anointing, we must come under the Lordship of Jesus
Christ. We must be subject to the Holy Spirit.

Have we recognized that the purpose of the Holy Spirit in us is to make Jesus our Lord,
and thus, formed us
together with Him as
witnesses unto God? Have we realized that when Jesus ascended to heaven and was
seated as Lord of all that He sent His Spirit to bring all things under His Lordship?

The outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Acts 2 did not usher in signs and wonders. There
were plenty of those before Acts 2, even through the OT. The outpouring of the Spirit in Acts 2 ushered in JESUS AS LORD – not just TO us, but IN US

Pastor Anita seemed to be

faith on His Word and not the
words of others who may be leading us astray. Barely one
month after her message, she
has left the ministry.

OrlandoOwoh: Have you sat and pondered on the implication of exonerating Ihejirika on Ndigbo in the north, in the face of:
1. The letter of Nyako to Northern Governors' Forum alleging that Jonathan was carrying out a genocide in the north?
2. Some northerners calling for the trial of Ihejirika in the ICC immediately he was dismissed as the COAS?
Its clear that those noethern elders who are against Ihejirika are still the same people who went to Aso Rock to protest against the deployment of foreign troops to North East. They claim that using force against the sect might rain calamity on the nation. Now that the sect has gone mad without the any foreign troops, what are the Northern elders saying or doing about it?

Boko haram leaders and their sponsors are mad at Ihejirika because what he did against them. So, they named Ihejirika as their sponsors knowing that the Igbos won't agree to the allegation which will in turn cause division between the North and the Igbos.

Am sure u know what that division will cause,, which is dividing the nation so that boko haram can achieve their desire of an islamic state.

Any reasonable Igboman is not supposed to be in any part of the North by now.

Yes Mr Davis didn't mentioned names but he was specific aboit the people he was refering to. He said, a former COAS that was sacked this january and a former governor of Brono state.

So why wasn't he specific about the CBN official? Like mentioning his department and position to enable us identify the person.

Had it been he just said A FORMER MILITARY OFFICER & A FORMER GOVT OFFICIAL IN BRONO STATE: do u think we'll know he was refering to Ihejirika and Sherif?

Who are the politicians he mentioned.

Mr Davis never mentioned Senator Ndume as boko haram sponsor. He only mentioned Gen. Ihejirika and Sen. Sherrif.

Senator Ndume have been confirmed since last year or so of having contacts with the sect and yet has been done about him

Why are you suppressing Mr. Davis allegation?
Pls don't get me wrong. I am not suppressing Mr Davis Allegation in any way but am sure those names boko haram gave him as their sponsors are false.

In the case of our security agencies arresting n questioning them, i doubt if anything can come out of it.

I've thinking about the allegation against Gen. Ihejirika and Senator Sheriff as boko haram sponsors for some times now and there are certain questions are seriously begging for answers.

I am very much sure that boko haram leader who spoke with the negotiator is that foolish to sell out their means of survival.
The following questions are seriously begging for answers.

1) How could anyone expect those terrorists to unmask their sponsors when they are not sure of wining the war?

2) Why did the sect's leader mentioned Gen. Ihejirika and Sen. Sheriff as their sponsors but refused giving the name of the CBN official whom they claimed is also sponsored them?

3) Does it means that boko haram no longer need money from their sponsors or are they trying to divert attention from the real sponsors of terror?

4) In the case of Gen. Ihejirika, if he was really a sponsor of terrorism, why was he accused of war crimes and the criticized Army chief because of his fight against boko haram by Northern Elders?

To me, boko haram is only saying the opposite. They are smart enough not to sell out their hopes for survival.

PoliticsEbola: Rivers PDP Blames Ameachi For Ebola Outbreak In The State by DeCleff(op): 1:51pm On Aug 30, 2014
The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has blamed the State Governor, Mr. Rotimi Amaechi, for the spread of the deadly Ebola virus disease to the state.

According to a statement signed by the Special Adviser on Media to the State Chairman of the party, Mr. Jerry Needam, the opposition party in Rivers State stated that Amaechi’s insensitivity was responsible for the Ebola virus that claimed the life of a medical doctor, Iyke Enemuo.

The state PDP pointed out that Amaechi and the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Samson Parker, were not proactive in providing facilities that would have prevented the spread of the disease to Rivers.

It would be recalled that Nigeria’s Health Minister Onyebuchi Chukwu had earlier on Thursday confirmed the first recorded death from Ebola in Port Harcourt, capital of Rivers State.

According to the minister, the late Dr. Emenuo contracted the deadly disease after he secretly treated a Liberian diplomat who had contacted the first Ebola victim in Nigeria, Patrick Sawyer.

Chukwu also confirmed that the deseased’s wife and 70 other people have been placed under surveillance for the dreaded disease in Rivers.

Accusing Governor Amaechi of insensitivity, the PDP statement read: “The PDP says carelessness and insensitivity on the part of the Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, and the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Samson Parker, are responsible for the unfortunate spread of the deadly Ebola Virus Disease to the state, with a confirmed death incident of an innocent doctor, Ike Samuel Elemo, as the first victim. “

The PDP notes that Governor Amaechi’s laxity and his Health Commissioner not been proactive in putting in place necessary facilities and modalities in preventing the Ebola outbreak or tackling it to avoid spread in the event of any reported case is consequently regrettable as the Rivers State situation might be more severe than that of Lagos State, in which case the (Lagos) State Government at least showed some form of seriousness by cooperating with the Federal Government prompt responses. “

The PDP expresses astonishment while reacting to the death of the medical doctor in Port Harcourt, who had contact with an Ebola patient, and whose wife and over 200 persons are reportedly being infected with the Ebola virus in Port Harcourt.

The opposition party also claimed that efforts made by the Federal Government to contain the spread of Ebola to
Rivers State were rejected by Amaechi.

It added that the governor shunned a meeting presided by President Goodluck Jonathan in Abuja on the prevention of the spread of Ebola to other states.
Meanwhile, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Rivers state chapter has dismissed PDP’s claim, describing it as being out of tune with the realities on the ground.

Mr. Chris Fynebone, the Publicity Secretary of APC in Rivers, while speaking on the allegation on Amaechi in a chat with Punchonline, accused PDP of politicising the Ebola scourge.

He added that contrary to the position of the opposition party, the governor and the commissioner for Health had been proactive in preventing the spread of the disease. “

It is wrong for the state PDP to make such a statement. I have seen the statement and it is clear that it is not in line with the realities on the ground about the Ebola virus. The state government brought in experts to train medical personnel in Rivers. “

There have been plans to prevent the disease from spreading into the state. Remember that a nurse travelled from Lagos to Enugu with the disease and she was taken back to Lagos, but nobody politicised it in Enugu. It is clear that somebody wants to deliberately politicise Ebola disease in the state,” Fybone said.

The deadly Ebola virus
currently ravaging West
Africa has already claimed no
fewer than six lives in
Nigeria and nearly 1,500 of
lives in the West African region.
Nigeria’s first Ebola patient
came from Liberia into Lagos,
the commercial hub of the
country, on July 20. Since
then , the Federal
Government has mobilised enormous resources to
reduce the possibility of
epidemic.

According to the federal
health authorities, twelve
people who contacted
Sawyer have been tested
positive for the virus, six of
them died, while 7 have successfully recovered and
sent home.
