ahaika23: Amaechi is lost naw. Do you not know that he could not enter communities in Obio/Akpor LGA because the people barricaded the road and asked him not to enter their community? He is looking for the next thing to do. Right now, he's at home wearing a singlet and boxers because there is no where for him to go. I guess he's waiting for another 1,000 tillers to be commissioned for 15,000 farmers somewhere in the Northern part of the country, or someone who would ask him about PGEJ. If you think he has nothing to say anymore, just ask him about GEJ, you would be amazed how he would for over 3 hours begin to complain and condemn and accuse, saying the same things he's been saying the past 7 months he fell out with GEJ. No carry that guy play o. My able and confused governor.Wow! So u mean Ameachi couldn't enter Obio/Akpor LGA? Sorry to dismise to ur claim cos Ameachi the Ochi Aliri Of Rivers state was in Ward 1 & 9 ( Wike's stronghold) today. Those PDP thigs couldn't do anything as both men, women, youths gathered to welcome the LION OF UBIMA |

Last month paypal was launched in Nigeria with limited services which is opposite to what western union services used to be in Nigeria until their services was upgraded this month. Before now, Nigerians were not allowed to send money out of Nigeria with western union but can only receive funds from friends and relatives outside the country. So few days after paypal was launch in Nigeria with a service opposite to that of western union (Paypal Nigeria can't receive funds but can send funds abroad while western union can receive funds but cant send funds abroad). I went on western union facebook page and asked why Nigerians can't send money abroad via western union; then i was told that the limited service was decision of the Nigerian govt and not western union. I then informed them that the same govt welcomed paypal with a limited service which enables Nigerians to send funds abroad but can't receive funds via paypal. I also suggested that they go back and renegotiate the policy with the govt because i was sure that if the govt could allow us send funds abroad via paypal that they will also consider western union as an alternative for transfering funds abroad. They(Western Union) thanked me and promised to do something about it. Just yesterday, i saw a headline on nairaland frontpage that Nigerians can now send send money abroad via western union and i was like ''wow so these guys actually took action and now Nigerians can send funds with ease?''. I immedately went back to their fb page and thanked them and they also thanked me for letting them help. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10152617934442457&id=124186682456&_rdr Thanks to Western union, GEJ, NOI, CBN gov. and much thanks to MEEEEEEE |

priscaoge: Good one,It's a way forward. GEJ is workingGod bless me cos i was the one who asked western union on their facebook page to do something so that Nigerians can use their service to make payment abroad. I was informed that the inability send money out of Nigeria was taken by Nigerian govt and not western union. I then asked them that if Nigerian govt could allow Nigerians to send out funds with paypal even though we can't receive payment with paypal, why won't they allow us use western union? I adviced them to renegotiate the issue with the govt and promised to do so. Today am very happy reading this on nairaland within 45 days after they promised to review their service in Nigeria. Here is a link to proof my claim as u can read where western union thanked me https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=10152617934442457&id=124186682456&_rdr#10152618024527457 |
A pharmaceutical research centre in Abuja, Ben Amodu Firms and Research Center, Saturday said it has submitted drug samples to the Federal Government that have the efficacy to tackle Ebola virus. The Chairman of the Centre, Pharmacist Ben Amodu, said the centre had produced drugs for the treatment of haemorrhagic fevers, which could also be used for Ebola virus. He said the drugs have been submitted to the committee set up by the minister of health recently on Ebola adding that the drugs could cure Ebola virus. “We gave the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and World Health Organization (WHO) samples of the drugs but the WHO later phoned and said they were not supposed to verify Ebola drugs. I gave samples to the committee set by the Minister of Health on Ebola virus and I hope that due process will be followed in determining the cure for Ebola. He said the Centre was into research of neglected tropical diseases, adding that the drugs made by the Center had the efficacy to cure Ebola symptoms. He said, “We got the drugs that cure Leishmaniasis and they have been previewed. We invented a drug, DAABS 2 which also cures Dangue fever which is viral Hemorrhagic fever and as you know Ebola is also a viral Hemorrhagic fever. Their symptoms include fever, intense weakness of the body system, vomiting, diarrhea, headache and internal and external bleeding. If you remove the bleeding aspect the disease becomes typhoid and hepatitis. The International Organisation for Scientific Research based in US, Japan and India have also previewed us for the management of hepatitis A,B,C,D,E and F, of which we have treated so many people. We have a drug that stops bleeding, including those from cervical cancer and uncontrolled menstrual flow. Our drug called SAABMAL was tested by the World Health Organization to have 97 per cent effectiveness in all forms of fever symptoms, including dengue, malaria and Ebola. It presently cures typhoid. Another drug, TAABS 2 also has effects on fever while SAAB 6 has very strong Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties as confirmed by National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRD). Also one other drug SAAB is a very good immune booster.” www.dailytimes.com.ng/article/ebola-nigerian-research-firm-submits-sample-drugs-fg#.U_CdkM1s9TI.facebook |

The multi bilion naira first monorail project in the South-South Nigeria is to commence operations in July 2014 in Calabar, Cross River State. Initially, the 12.5-kilometre $34 million project as conceived by the Donald Duke administration was to link Margaret Ekpo International Airport to Tinapa in Adiabo in the outskirts of Calabar. But considering a lull in business activities in Tinapa, the project had to be redesigned and expanded to cover most busy streets of Calabar Municipality and Calabar-South. Special Adviser to Governor Liyel Imoke on Special Projects, Mr. Clement Akwaji, who disclosed this to reporters on a special media tour of government projects in the state said under the new arrangement, the monorail is meant to reduce problems and cost of intra- city transportation drastically. He said that soon, the state government would sign a concession arrangement with Globin Corporation of Canada that will fund and manage the new monorail concept under which the distance is extended to 25.5 kilometres instead of the initial 12.5kilometres. He could not give the current cost of the project but The Guardian gathered that taking everything into consideration, the new city line would gulp not less than $80 million. According to him, “the old concept left out high density area and was restricted to Tinapa but the new concept is a city line cutting through four stations starting from Atimbo round about, University of Calabar gate, Cross River University of Technology gate, Mbukpa and will terminate at Tinapa”. From Anietie Akpan, Calabar, www.efiknationalincusa.org/monorail-for-calabar-in-2014/ Calabar People howfar, any hope for the mono rail commence operation this month or this year? The National Conference on Thursday accepted the recommendation of its Committee on Politics and Governance to return Nigeria to a true federal structure with the states as federating units. The Conference also adopted another recommendation which will allow the states to create local governments as they deem necessary. It also resolved that asset declaration form submitted by public office holders to the Code of Conduct Bureau, CCB, should be made accessible to the general public and the exercise should be before and after assumption of office. The report of the Committee co- chaired by a former Information Minister, Jerry Gana, and a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Olu Falae, was earlier debated before the amendments to its recommendation were taken and voted for. The voting session was moderated by the Deputy Chairman of the Conference, Bolaji Akinyemi. It could not vote on the establishment of structure, composition, finance and functions of local government councils preferring to do so when discussing the report of the Committee on Political Restructuring and Forms of Government. The Conference, however, accepted a proposal that unelected chairmen of local governments (often referred to as Transition Committee Chairmen) or such unelected representatives at the local government areas should be sanctioned by withholding the statutory allocations pending the conduct of election into such local governments. On anti-corruption and ethics in governance, it agreed to the recommendation that the Anti- Corruption Agencies, ACAs, notably the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, and the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, should take up any corruption case that is in the public domain without waiting for a petition. They resolved that the refusal by anti-graft agencies to act on any corruption cases that they are not aware of would constitute an act of misconduct, criminal negligence or dereliction of duty that will attract appropriate sanctions. The Conference therefore resolved that all ACAs should be empowered to invite anybody living above their means to explain their source of wealth, and if the agencies are not satisfied with explanations to the acquisition of such wealth, the person shall be charged to court. “Upon conviction, the person shall forfeit the entire proceeds from corruption and be sentenced to half the prison term attached to the sum of the money or its equivalent,” it said. The Conference voted in support of a proposal that a special account be opened and designated as Infrastructure Development Fund, IDF, into which all recovered proceeds of corruption shall be paid. On cross-carpeting from one party to another, it resolved that such elected public office holders who defect before the expiration of their mandates without cogent reasons would lose their seats. The Conference resolved that inducement of voters with money and materials on Election Day should be treated as a criminal offence and perpetrators severely punished. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the State Independent Electoral Commission, SIEC, are to fashion ways to ensure that physically challenged persons, especially lepers, are registered and actually vote in elections. The Conference resolved that that minority groups that wish to exist as separate states and meet the criteria for state creation should be allowed to do so under the instrumentality of the relevant laws and procedures as part of their right to internal self determination. It restated the unconditional rights and freedom of every and any other ethnic nationality that considers itself as unjustly subjected to real and perceived injustice and marginalisation to join their kith and kin through the instrumentality of relevant laws. It accepted a recommendation for the establishment of a National Council of Traditional Rulers, NCTR, with three members from each state. www.premiumtimesng.com/news/163919-national-conference-adopts-true-federalism-nigeria.html |

This is Nigeria were anything can happen. And i want u to understand that we have a Bayelsa man as president and hope u know what that implies? OBj invaded Benue & Bayelsa states but only Odi in Bayelsa is to be compensated. What of Benue? We need a president thats not from Bayelsa or Rivers or even south south to detremine the truth about the matter. Don't forget that King T. J. T Princewill who is the King of Kalabari where the oil wells are located still insisted that they own the wells |
