PoliticsMy Message To Both Winner And Loser Of Tomorrow 's Presidential Election (pic) by DeCleff(op): 8:11am On Mar 27, 2015
Dear GEJ A.K.A PDP & GMB A.K.A APC.

I am very happy that despite all odds and challenges which Nigeria and Nigerians are facing right now, God in His infinite mercy has given us another opportunity to decide the future of great nation in the next four (4) years in tomorrow's presidential election.

I want to use this opportunity to also remind you (GEJ & GMB) that Nigeria does not belong to any political party, region or ethnic groups. Nigeria belongs to Nigerians ( South, East, West & North). Let me also remind that since 1960 when Nigeria got her independence that so many political parties and politicians has come and gone but Nigeria and Nigerians are still standing strong. Therefore, since APC & PDP and our current poloticians are not the first political parties and politicians Nigeria has produced, it also means that they won't be the last because the only thing that is not constant is change.

Therefore, you guys have to see this election as game where only one party must emerge winner and the other who lost out should accept the result and congratulate the winner. If the loser noticed any irregularities he should gather his evidence and go to court.

Beacuse i don't wish a repeat of 2011 post election violence. From the look of things now post election violence is no longer a northern issue but an issue of every region. Also. Lets make sure this election will be free and fair and no a repeat of EkitiGate.

So, i say a big congratulation to the winner and to the loser i say thank you sir, because your presence helped in shaping so many things in our nation.

I LOVE THIS PIC OF GEJ & GMB. AND I HOPE THEY CAN HUG EACH OTHER THIS WAY AFTER TOMORROW.

GOD BLESS NIGERIA

GOD BLESS NIGERIANS

PoliticsWe Must Stop Buhari Before He Sends Us To Jail - Ex Senator Zwingina by DeCleff(op): 9:29pm On Feb 24, 2015
The People Democratic Party
PDP, candidate for Adamawa
South Senatorial District, Silas
Zwingina, has claimed that the
Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Muhammadu Buhari, intends to send public office holders to jail if he emerges president.

Senator Jonathan Zwingina Mr. Zwingina, therefore, urged
his party members to work
hard to ensure that Mr. Buhari
fails in his bid to become
president. Speaking in Yola, the Adamawa state capital, Mr. Zwingina said we have to stop Buhari and his plan to build more prisons to jail politicians.

“You know Buhari, he will send
us to jail for between 200 to
300 years and it is the lucky
ones among us that will get 50
years.

“As you know, there is no way
you will hold office in Nigeria
and go scot free if the
authorities want to get you.

“Buhari is determined to send
people to jail and even APC
governors are not comfortable
with him and that’s why many
of them are not following his
campaign team,

” Mr. Zwingina alleged. He said President Goodluck
Jonathan is better than Mr.
Buhari and needs to be
returned to continue his
transformation agenda.

“Let me tell you, that Jonathan
is 1,000 times better than
Buhari and that’s why people
resolved to vote for our
candidate, President Jonathan he said. He also urged the people to elect the PDP gubernatorial candidate, Nuhu Ribadu as Governor and vote all other PDP candidates in the state.

In his remarks, Mr. Ribadu
pleaded for the unity of PDP in
the state if it must emerged
victorious.

“If you vote me, I promise you that I will not betray you. I met
just recently with Mr. President
and he showed concern over
the level of underdevelopment
in Adamawa with the promise that Adamawa is among the
states he will accord priority in
terms of federal projects.

“In 2011 election, we gave the
president 65 per cent and I
promised him that this time
around we will give him 80 per
cent,” Mr. Ribadu said.

PoliticsOPINION: Why Niger Deltans Shouldn't Listen To War Threat By Ex-militants. by DeCleff(op): 1:12pm On Feb 01, 2015
Every well meaning Niger Deltans and Nigerians in general should not allow themselves to be intimidated by the utterances of some ex-militants who said there will be war in President was not re-elected come february 14 because those guys are only trying to protect their contracts.

In a democracy, nobody should intimidate you to vote against your wish. If Nigerians wants GEJ to continue as president beyond 2015, then they will vote him in but if they don't need him any longer its their choice/decision to make and nobody can influence that.

Before you think of paying attenton to them (ex militants), ask yourself what you have gained after the so called amnesty. They (ex militants) said they were fighting the FG because the govt refused to develop the region. But has anything changed in the region for the ordinary people they (ex militants) claimed to be fighting for? NO! The only change we saw was that all the ex militants became big shots in town, cruising luxury cars, living in mansions and some acquiring private jets.

What about the fisherman whom his means for survival was destroyed during the era of militancy in the region? He or she was left with nothing. This is to tell you all that these overfed ex militants were fighting to be recognized by the FG and they succeeded by using Niger Deltans as a means.

Today they are worth bilions of naira after receiving some juicy contracts from the FG while the people they claimed to be fighting for are dying in poverty.

Now, they (ex militants) have started again with similar sentiments just to protect their monthly/yearly in flow of bilions of naira. How many of them were in support of GEJ becoming a VP and now the president in the first place? But today they (ex militants) threating Nigerians of war if GEJ wasn't re-elected because of the contracts he gave them and they even refered to Nigerians as their slaves (Asari said so).

As for my igbo brothers and sisters who are supporting the war threat by those ijaw militants, i pity you all because you people are the ones to suffer heavy casualties when the war starts. Have you forgotten so soon what happened during Biafran war? Look the ijaw man you think loves you, is only using you to get what he wants.

Vote according to your conscience.
PoliticsRe: President GEJ Is Not Clueless And He Is Not Corrupt But What Happened To ? by DeCleff(m): 12:15pm On Feb 01, 2015
spenca:
Let me begin by registering my deep approval of the energy of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to hunt down General Muhammadu Buhari’s academic credentials.

Some Nigerians feel that this is malicious, that the chase avoids the issues involved in next week’s presidential election.

I disagree: the certificate question is a character issue, and a constitutional issue. Therefore it is an electoral issue. In my view, the PDP is doing Nigeria a favour because it is talking about a fundamental question. A candidate has to be evaluated for office, constitutionally and practically.

The beauty of the process is that it also explains and justifies close attention to the elected as a public servant rather than the lord of the manor.

In the past, this was not always so clear. Anyone asking to see the West African School Certificate of a leader who claims a Ph.D but sounds intellectually malnourished was abused.

To that end, then, I thank the PDP. It is trying to win an election it knows that should it lose, would replace its heaven with considerable hell. Everyone is now open to questioning.

If you are like me, however, you wonder about hundreds of questions that, along the way, are often left unanswered in Nigeria’s public life. As we prepare for a new era this month, I would like to ask a few. These are in no particular order, and are by no means exhaustive.

What happened to the $5.424 billion loan sought by the federal government through the Senate in 2010 for “various projects”? In April of that year, the government asked the Upper House for its consent to that intent.
The Senate approved $915 million, but on August 10, 2010, the government held out its hat again for the balance of $4.427.91 billion. President Goodluck Jonathan explained that he had directed the Finance Minister to ensure the funds would be judiciously utilized.
In a letter to the Senate on August 15 urging rejection of the request, the widely-known lawyer, Femi Falana, recalled that the Excess Crude Account had been whittled down to $460 million from the $20 billion left by the Olusegun Obasanjo Administration in May 2007, but had not explained what it accomplished with the lion share of the fund allocated to it.

What happened to Nigeria’s series of ceasefire arrangements with Boko Haram?

What happened to the June 26, 2012 request to President Jonathan by SERAP asking for his assets declaration details between May 2007 and May 2012?

What happened to the Presidential Mid-Term Report of 2012, in which President Jonathan said, among others, that his government would have accomplished up to 10,000MW of power supply by December 2013?

What happened to the August 2010 declaration by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Dimeji Bankole, that the sum $5 billion earned from liquefied natural gas in the previous 10 years had not been recorded in the Federation Account?

What happened to the comprehensive audit of the financial transactions of all government ministries and agencies since 2007 that President Jonathan ordered on 14 July 2011 as he “re-launched the war against corruption”?

What happened to the report of the Committee on Aviation of the House of Representatives which in March 2010 began a probe of the award of the N64 billion ($96,970 per metre) Second Abuja Airport Runway contract which had somehow been approved by the Federal Executive Council?

What happened to the promise made by President Jonathan to Nigerians in Addis Ababa in February 2011 that he would work towards ensuring Nigerians in the Diaspora are able to vote in 2015?

What happened to the September 2010 KPMG report which unveiled monumental fraud and malfeasance at the NIgerian National Petroleum Corporation?

What happened to the $1 billion agreement signed between Nigeria and the European Union in November 2009 to combat corruption and promote peace in the Niger Delta that the European Commission through helping Nigeria tackle challenges in governance, trade and peace between 2009 and 2013?

What happened to the Sep 26, 2010 demand by the National Conscience Party (NCP) for the investigation of the grand corruption in the operation and management of the Federation Account, citing the diversion and looting of several trillions of Naira from the account?

What happened to the famous 2014 Forensic Audit Report on the missing $20 billion Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation promised by President Jonathan and Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala?

What happened to the 2012 Fuel Subsidy probe report of the House of Representatives, and the federal government’s promise to prosecute those who were indicted?

What happened to the $458m hidden in bank accounts in Britain, Jersey and France by former Head of State Sani Abacha that the United States announced in February 2014 it had frozen?

What happened to the wealth President Jonathan promised in his 2011 electoral campaign he would create? At his Media Chat on November 18, 2012, the President denied he had promised to eliminate poverty, asserting he had only said he would “create wealth”.

What happened to the $227 million (N37 billion) Nigeria received from Liechtenstein on June 25, 2014, from the Abacha file? President Goodluck Jonathan announced at the time he would set up an inter-ministerial committee “to ensure the proper utilization of the funds”.

What happened to the electoral promises and subsequent vows of performance given by President Jonathan before and after the 2011 elections? On November 11, 2014, Jonathan said in Abuja as he flagged-off his second-term campaign that he had fulfilled all the promises he made to Nigerians in 2011.

What happened to the implementation of the reports of the various presidential panels set up between 2010 and 2014?

What happened to the Freedom of Information request filed by the African Centre for Media & Information Literacy in July 2011 requesting access to the 2007 assets declaration of President Jonathan as well as the two presumed declarations in May 2011?

What happened to the September 26 FOI request by SERAP of the Accountant General of the Federation to disclose details of the spending of recovered stolen public assets since the return of civil rule in 1999?

What happened to the statisticians of NOIPolls in Abuja who in December 2014 announced President Jonathan’s job approval rating to be “60% … consistent with the 60% job approval rating recorded in October,” but then in January 2015 said its survey for December 2014 revealed a “5 in 10 (55%)” approval it described as a “a 5-points decline from November 2014” instead of 10?

What happened to the $1.2 million President Jonathan lavished on US public relations firm Levick in June 2014 to help him re-work his government’s image over Chibok’s abducted schoolgirls; did Levick get $1.2m for one opinion piece in the Washington Post?

What happened to the Chibok girls?

What happened to the reports of the security agencies and the National Human Rights Commission President Jonathan directed to be carried out on December 23, 2013 over the allegations contained in President Olusegun Obasanjo’s letter to President Jonathan. The allegations included a political watch list of 1000 persons, and the training of snipers apparently to kill them.

Obio/Akpor welcomed the
Greater Together Campaign
Train with celebration and a
carnival atmosphere. The APC
faithfuls filled up the venue
and the streets leading to it. Tony Okocha, Chief of Staff to
the Rivers State Governor and
candidate for House of
Representatives, took the
stage but was not allowed to
campaign. Instead, he led the crowd and the band in an
impromptu reggae concert,
singing Bob Marley classics.

Hon Andrew Uchendu,
currently a member of the
House of Representatives and
seeking election to the Senate,
spoke on behalf of the Ikwerre
people. He informed the rally that the Supreme Council of
Ikwerre Traditional Rulers had
endorsed Dakuku Peterside for
the governorship of Rivers
State. Speaking on the
presidential election, he said Nigerians and the people of
Rivers State could not afford to
keep President Jonathan in
office.

"In the course of my
oversight duties [in the House
of Reps], I have found out that the problem with Nigeria is
that nobody is in charge right
now. Even the president has
admitted he didn't do
anything. Can we afford to
wait another four years? Vote him out.

" He urged the people
of Rivers State to vote for
Muhammadu Buhari, and not
to base their choice on regional
affinity. "There is no brother in
politics. The only brother is the one that looks out for your
interest.

" When Dakuku Peterside took
the microphone, the already
revved-up crowd stirred itself
into a frenzy. He led the crowd
in the new rallying cry:
"February 14th, stand your ground; February 28th, stand
your ground". Telling the
crowd that Nigeria needed APC
and Buhari, he declared "the
current Federal Government
has failed Nigeria." He stressed that voting Buhari for
President would enable the
APC Government to bring
peace and security to Obio/
Akpor through transparent use
of the security forces. Dr Peterside told the people to
vote Andrew Uchendu because
he would be "a Senator that
will give you a voice in Abuja,
not one that will keep mute." If
elected Governor, Dr Peterside promised to boost the
economic development of the
LGA, and to further
democratize the
empowerment of its people.
He finally encouraged the people to stand their ground
on Election Day, and not allow
anyone to chase them from
their polling units and collation
Centres until their votes are
counted and the current results announced and recorded.

PoliticsJonathan's Campaign Rally In Port Harcourt A Waste Of Time - Rivers APC by DeCleff(op): 8:41am On Jan 29, 2015
Yesterday's re-ection campaign rally in Port Harcourt by President Goodluck Jonathan has been described as a waste of time and an embarrassment.

Reacting to the rally held at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium in the Rivers State capital, the ruling party in the state, the All Progressives Congress (APC), alleged that it suffered from poor attendance, thus confirming the unpopularity of President Jonathan and his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state. Rivers APC also said that in his speech at the rally, Jonathan merely ended up confirming APC’s claim that he has done nothing to deserve the votes of Rivers people during the February 14 presidential election.

“To say that President Jonathan and his PDP wasted their time in coming to Rivers State to campaign is to state the obvious. The half-empty stadium despite the renting of supporters from Bayelsa, Delta, Abia and Akwa Ibom states speaks volumes about Jonathan’s unpopularity among our people,” Rivers APC Chairman, Dr. Davies Ibiamu Ikanya, said.

Ikanya in a statement issued this morning in Port Harcourt said the party was happy that “Jonathan during the failed rally personally confirmed that he has done nothing for Rivers State and her people as evidenced by his monumental neglect of the state.

” The Rivers APC Chairman quoted President Jonathan as saying: “I should be congratulated and commended for not developing Rivers and Bayelsa states to avoid being accused of being biased in allocating developments to the two States but if we are re-elected we will now concentrate development in these two states.

” According to Ikanya, “By this statement, we need no further proof that it was a deliberate act by the President Jonathan administration not only to under-develop Rivers State but also to ensure that the State was stagnated by allocating our oil wells to Bayelsa, Abia and other neighbouring states.

” Rivers APC told the President to “stop dreaming of re-election as it will never happen.” The party said: “We want to assure you, Mr. President, that you will never be re-elected because you have failed woefully and do not deserve any re-election. After all that Rivers State and her people did for you, you could be so mean not to site one single project in Rivers State. We have no reason for whatsoever to recommend you to any section of this country for re-election.

“It is a pity that out of all the states President Jonathan has visited, it is only in Rivers that he could not name a single development project he initiated, not to talk of executing, apart from posting the tyrannical Police Commissioner Joseph Mbu and supporting every imaginable act of impunity in the State, including the plot by five State Assembly members to impeach the Speaker in a House of 25 members. We can now better understand Governor Chibuike Amaechi, who has at various fora challenged President Jonathan to mention one single development project he has brought to Rivers State.”

Rivers APC vowed to intensify campaigns to ensure that both President Jonathan and the state PDP gubernatorial candidate, Chief Nyesome Wike, do not get up to 10 percent of votes to be cast in Rivers during the February polls. “We will like to assure the entire world that if PDP scores up to 20 percent in these elections we will concede victory to the party,” Ikanya said.

He congratulated Rivers people “for staying at home and allowing Mr. President to address a half empty stadium, thereby telling him and PDP in unmistakable terms that Rivers State is fully and squarely an APC State.

” According to Ikanya, “If Mr. President and his managers knew that Chief Wike does not exist in Rivers State politically except in the minds of some expired and hungry politicians looking for food to fill their stomach and that he does not have what it takes to mobilise enough people to fill a 50,000- seater stadium in the capacity of the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium they would have accepted the Liberation Stadium as counseled by Governor Amaechi to see if they could have used the 15,000 supporters hired from some neighbouring states to fill the stadium than embarrassing the President by making him to address an empty stadium in a presidential rally.”

Ikanya who was accompanied on the solidarity visit by Dr. Dakuku Peterside, governorship candidate of the APC in Rivers State spoke extensively on matters of development, candidates for the election, parties and Nigeria’s two critical elections slated for 14 and 28 February 2015. Ikanya, who took off on a very sober note, described the last six years of Nigeria under the watch of a fellow Ijaw and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP
as horrifying for the people of Rivers State in particular and
Nigeria in general.

future. What exactly did we do to them? If they were quarrelling with Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi were they also quarrelling with the entire people of Rivers State? See how the man who lived here paid us back!

“Apart from the intimidation,
it also got to a time when we
all agreed that our next
governor must come from
another part of Rivers State in
the principle of rotation. But our brother joined hands with
our oppressors to frustrate our
Riverine aspiration and to deny
us our heritage. But God gave
us Peterside to console us. I
want to say right away that a good friend is better than a
bad brother. So we must
support General Muhammadu
Buhari because he has
promised to assuage our pain”. Ikanya who described
Peterside as a candidate of
liberation, both for the Andoni
and the people of Rivers State
warned his people to reject
Jonathan and the PDP because even the South-South region
were Jonathan hails from is
worse off today than it was
2009.

On his part, Peterside promised
to create wealth and jobs for
the unemployed, not only in
Andoni Local Government but
across Rivers State. He also
promised to establish cooperatives, encourage deep
fishing and address erosion
issues, among other things. A total of 54 Andoni Chiefs
attended the session. Andoni
chiefs prayed for and blessed
Dr Peterside describing him as
a worthy brother and
dependable representative.
