Politics › How Many World Leaders Attended The Democracy Day? by Decodedp(op): 3:31pm On Jun 12, 2019 |
Just wondering! After all the noise about how the presidential inauguration was going to be a low key event because the main event is scheduled for the democracy day celebration in memory of June 12. And how invitation has been extended to world leaders to grace the occasion.
I was expecting a long list of dignitaries but one headline this morning actually said that three of our past presidents were conspicuously absent.
Am i missing something?
Any update please? |

Yyeske: Ok, after his insults on other tribes and ethnicities, he thinks he can get their support or even that of theinternational community? Remember he's been insulting the UK and other countries too. The Scots, Catalonians and Quebecois in Canada didn't go calling for death to citizens of their respective nations and that was why they earned that support from others. Kanu's approach was wrong. Another thing is that he goes about including other nationalities he never consulted with making them suspicious of his real intentions. I suspect you are just being mischievous but for the records, igbofobic tendencies in Nigeria dates back to 1953 so kanu's utterances is no excuse. As for the other nationalities you mentioned, kanu spoken extensively on that (Biafra is a voluntary association) |

God knows I respect kanu a lot, but I fear for our people living outside Igbo land, how I wish all our investments are at home coz if chaos should break out due to hate speeches, they are usually d sacrificial lamb. I haven't gotten over my people killed by buratai during protest and I don't want a repetition. that's all. I share your feelings darling, but be rest assured that serious work is going on behind the scene to minimize further loss of life and assets. You must have noticed that Ohaneze has woken up to serve as a moderator, building bridges and calming flayed nerves. However, difficult as it may be, our people living outside Igbo land must begin to see themselves as foreigners on a business trip and begin to see Igbo land as their only true home |

macjive01: Arewa youth have no political authority, they can say what they want, they dont wedge power and are easily controlled and shepherd by their leaders. Just you know, come the oct 1st these Allakubar terrorist up North could kill igbos and burn igbo businesses in the North and nothing will happen. We will turn around and blame those Igbos for going to the North. We can protest as much as we want. Write to UN and everybody.
Firstly, Federal government and Hausa leaders will deny any involvement and "vow " to bring to account the perpetuators- but we all know how it ends , dont we?
What then can we do ? - Probably chase away or at stretch kill some hausas in the east, boycott and threaten heaven and earth. Still, IPOB having no Executive Authority can't do much.
IPOB need Executive powers which they can only realistically get from winning the state elections.
However, if they had executive powers and such killings were to happen: 1, They could impose levies on "non-state" vehicles entering the region
2. Impose steep fine for Muslims in the region- this could be counter-productive though as the other regions could easily retaliate. but heyhoh.. that what IPOB should want. If other regions retaliate- the igbos in those state might finally begin to feel uncomfortable and might just begin to repatriate their business and investment to Biafra. As well as begin to homogenise the country into regions. And create the anxiety in the country and for the governement as Sharia introduction by zamfara state did.
3. If IPOB have states under them, they could ban non-Biafran youth coppers in the states. same as above point to create a disunity and heat up the politics.
4. SET up Biafran Football League. and to run concurrent to NFA league. ( part of identity and nation building)
5. Have resources or better structure to organise and build monuments for Biafrans, the war, fallen heros in the struggle.
6. Ban Nigerian Military and police from the states- that could be done under relocation of the barracks. - organise a fire on the building and force a relocation. relocated them to a forest at the outskirt of town.
7. We might not want war- but we need a well equiped Israeli- trained "local vigilantee force" able to shoot and carry out reconnaissance deep into enemy territory. A force able to defend our new Biafra Mega farms from Fulani Heardmen and other sabouteurs.
8. Force National service operating in the states to have a regional office- the 5 Local telecoms.
9. Ban all Non-biafran affiliated banks- GTB !!!- if you cant ban them- organise successions of theft and burning of their offices to chase them out of the states.
10. Ban Dangote truck and services.
11. If FREEDOM PARTY ( Ipob political Arm) wins overwhelming in Rivers state. then the screwing can be a lot sweeter. BAN ALL NON BIAFRAN FROM THE OIL FIELDS and OIL JOBS within the region- YES INCLUDING YORuBAS .
We then sit back and wait for Lagos to retaliate. I'm not sure you have any Idea of the content of Nigeria's constitution before posting the above |

macjive01: The Yorubas and Hausas can NEVER agree to it. why shoud they? If you were in their shoes you probably won't agree to it.
The restructuring won't favour them. especially the North.
And they have the votes to stop it. what do you think they will do? My brother, your postulation is plausible but it will be very easy for the forces behind the status quo to defeat such strategy. Because in Nigeria ideology doesn't win election but money bags (among other things) win Ever wondered why Ojukwu lost a senatorial election in igbo land? Besides even if all senators/reps from the south east are pro Biafra, they'll still be an insignificant minority which cannot possibly pull off the Biafra idea. In fact they'll be so ostracized that many of them will sucomb to pressure and abandon the idea. I remember sometime ago when a senator from Abia state raised the issue of Biafra on the floor of the Senate, the atmosphere became so charged that some of the other senators appear ready to beat him up. Again your suggestion is exactly what massob set out to achieve through APGA but you can see how they ended up. Chekwas Okorie has also been toeing the path without any tangible result. Finally, I agree that nnamdi kanu's strategy is crude, controversial and sometimes confusing but it has been largely successful and has proven quite difficult for the politicians and government forces to comprehend. Based on the above, give him the benefit of doubt while other events unfold. On the flip side, I'm happy that Ohaneze has woken up to its responsibilities as a moderator, building bridges and calming flayed nerves. |

adadike281: now, is he not speaking from both sides of d mouth? I am all for Biafra but not a blind follower. watch as your name will turn to afonja and cone head Nwanyi oma, don't misunderstand him. nnamdi kanu is following a well scripted plan that usually appear controversial and confusing at the beginning but always end up achieving the set objective. Some instances: 1. When he started radio Biafra, he needed audience (first from the people he intended to lead) hence he chose (among other things) words and audio recordings from the Biafra war times. 2. When it was time to draw the attention of other Nigerians and their leaders, he deployed crude language and even the devil will admit that it worked out well. 3. When it became ripe for him to prove his commitment to the struggle, he submitted himself to be arrested. 4. Away from prison, it's time to prove his determination and that he won't go the Uwazulike way, he called his bail conditions bluff and reaffirmed his influence through the solidarity and reconciliatory visits 5. Now efforts are being made to effectively co opt non igbos (of Biafran descent) into the struggle he's now toning down (choosing diplomacy) and on the flip side, to court international attention and sympathy he has chosen civil disobedience hence the sit at home and no election. Finally, even when you don't quite understand or agree with his approach, you must admit that he has largely succeeded and as such give him that benefit of doubt or better still seek clarification from (learned) members of his organization. #my1cent |

Now that others opposed to his ideology are rallying for the governor and presidient, hypocrites like you are shouting rented 1k crowd.
You ipobs are just noisy about your agitation, you are still in the minority in the south east. In the days to come, more Igbos who are opposed to Kanu will come out and distance themselves from him the way we've seen this week. Crowds like this will continue to expose your lies. Political campaigns will soon start in Anambra and ipob will suffer its biggest defeat there when the election is successfully conducted. For now, keep shouting Afonja, 1K rented crowd from Osun etc up and down. I would want to suggest the following procedures and i can assure u its going to work out successfully. if you can unite and follow the following 10 steps then i can tell you, welcome to the Republic of Biafra in advance.
«««STEP 1»»» withdraw all your services from Nigeria and render the Nigerians as you are the backbone of the country.
«««STEP 2»»» Withdraw your kinsmen who are public office holders e.g Ike Ekweremadu, deputy senate president, Peter Obi the D.G of S.E.C
«««STEP 3»»» Reject all the ministerial nomination from the so called Nigeria.
«««STEP 4»»» Endeavour to reject Federal Allocation. You are very industrious people you will be better off without it
«««STEP 5»»» Stop all form of importation through the Nigerian sea port so that Nigeria will crumble without your Tax
«««STEP 6»»» Recall all your sons and daughters from all parts of Nigeria to relocate to home untill this fight is over then Nigeria can beg them to come back as expatriate.
«««STEP 7»»» Lock up all ur shops in idumota, Alaba international, Kano main market, and every other market even in the remote villages accross the country.
«««STEP 8»»» Go beyond closing of the Niger bridge stop all Nigerians from buying or selling in Onitsha Main market or Ariaria market in Aba.
«««STEP 9»»» Make sure u make ur Visa very hard for Nigerians.
«««STEP 10»»» This fight can be achieved without Violence just like south Sudan. Finally, make sure you don't fight it with weapons.

kingzizzy: You should go and study more about Nigeria's history. In 1967, Igbos returned home in their millions to face Biafra. It was you Nigerians that came to the East to fight for 3 years to bring Igbos back into Nigeria. Now, you are asking Igbos to repeat what did not work last time?
Since you Nigerians fought to hold on to Igbos, it is now incumbent on you people to show you now mean business. Join the call for the creation of Biafra. After Biafra is finalised, then you can ask Igbos to go.
You cant ask Igbos to go while there is still 'one Nigeria', thats like asking a person to go home while you hold on to the keys of the persons house.
Did you see anybody ask The Scots to go back to Scotland when they had their 2014 referendum?
But make no mistake about it, I and my fellow Igbos will one day exit this zoological Republic of Lord Lugard. . You're so so on point. |

Why must these people want to always use violence and crude means to achieve results?
If they didn't see the 1967 civil war, haven't they seen the video clips of Rwanda, Liberia, Syria, Iraq and many other's war?
