Russians are very generous people .

Mother Russia is also ever forgiving and has so much to offer.

The average Russian's ability to forgive and move on is also something I find very Christian like.

Never been to Russia but hope to do so one day.

Beautiful country, beautiful people with hearts of gold.

The northern Cameroon region compromises of today's Adamawa, Taraba and parts of southern Borno states. My grandfather voted in the 1961 referendum to join Nigeria instead of Cameroon. This could be in part because of the historical ties our people's shared with the rest of Nigeria. I do not know however why the south chose to join the republic of Cameroon
The south voted to leave Nigeria all together so as to avoid being with the Ibo in the old eastern region.

You think any tribe in Nigeria is ready to share their origin with south east people, because they are the ones killing themselves for one nigeria and the same time agitating for Biafra.

Ironsi was in the capital of western Nigeria under the direct protection of Fajuyi.

He stood his ground against the mutinous northern officers not because he cared about that buffoon Ironsi but because he was the military governor of the then Western region and wanted to let the world know he had no hand in Ironsi being killed.

I am igbo, grew up in omuaran and speak better yoruba than most Southwesterners.

When I travel across yoruba land I see complete decay of infrastructure, non existence of development, medieval style living, state sponsored thuggery, mafia syndicates etc.

The most touching of them all is the current infrastructural decay of lagos and Ogun.

Lagos and Ogun has zero roads, "I can swear on my father's grave"..
From. Lekki to ajah, computer village to Agege, ikorodu, ipaja,( just keep the street name coming..) the roads have all decayed, littered with multiple large potholes, wavvy uniformity, melted coal tar, refuse filled drainages etc.
Anytime I drive my Toyota sedan on lagos roads, I weep. Yes you Heard me. I shed tears..
I ASK MYSELF THIS QUESTION "LAGOS IS RICHER THAN 32 STATES COMBINED ; LAGOS IS THE SMALLEST STATE IN NIGERIA - AND DESPITE ALL THIS, IT CANNOT FIX ITS FEW ROAD NETWORKS".
I assume it's a case of a state under hostage..

I will also come to the case of Ogun state.. Though Ogun state is about 30times larger than lagos, it's road networks are in a sorry state..
I want to belive the governor of Ogun state is in a treaty with the devil to Underdeveloped the states infrastructure.

SAYING OGUN HAS NO ROAD - is a long thing - OGUN STATE IS OFFICIALLY LIVING IN THE STONE AGE 'INFRASTRUCTURALLY' I can boldly say Ogun state is gone.. Gone and finished.. Its rate of decay is fast, 25yrs per year.. That's the rate..for every year that passes in Ogun state, it will Take 25yrs to clean up the rot, rebuild, build and meet up with time..2yrs means 50yrs..
But the SW has relied on propaganda to paint a rosy picture of itself, defying all Odds
. This shall lead to a dangerous end.

On the flipside, the SE is built with facts. It can be seen and felt, there are evidences..

The Igbos are wired to call a Spade a spade. They do not white wash or gold plate..

If you don't work, nobody will sing your praise.
nobody will open a troll Farm and bomb social media with alternate facts and propaganda to favour you..

This reality has made the southeastern politicians to sit up and perform as expected..
Then return to your factual yeast.
CrimeRe: Please Help!!! A Bank Marketer (not Bank) Arrested My Brother Over A Loan by DeepThroater: 10:33am On Aug 13, 2023
concho:
Good morning Friends,
Sorry I’m coming up with this on a Sunday morning .

My brother has been very sick since January after his warehouse got vandalized and couldn’t offset a bank Loan.

He was diagnosed of hepatitis B and his condition got from better to worse

I knew the debt was part of what was eating him up , So I promised him that will do what ever is within my power to offset the debt just to save his sanity and health

I called the lady ( loaning officer) that aided him in the loan process and requested for restructuring since it’s a commercial bank (Sterling bank)

I explained the critical nature of my brother’s sickness to her and my brother’s inability to repay the loans

She said “No” to restructuring and started laying curses on my brother with threats.
She later called to inform me that she has taken the case to a Deity in her village ( Over a bank loan)

Fast forward to last night , She came with armed police men on tricycle and beat up my brother , chained him and took him away .

I immediately put a call across to Sterling bank to know if they authorized or came for the arrest on Saturday evening and they said “No”

They said that they don’t have a hand in the arrest and they don’t operate that way

Please friends , how do I go about thishuh
My brother is still in detention and the woman is still threatening to jail him
That bank staff loaned bank money to your brother without authorization.

Get a lawyer and see to your brother being bailed then begin legal action against the bank staff and the police.

PoliticsRe: The Western Cameroun Plebescite Of 1961 by DeepThroater(op): 8:43am On Aug 13, 2023
An obviously heavily sugar coated and blanket explanation is given by Wikipedia on why Western Cameroun people in the then Eastern Nigeria wanted out:

"In 1953, however, the Southern Cameroons representatives, unhappy with the domineering attitude of Nigerian politicians and lack of unity among the ethnic groups in the Eastern Region, declared a "benevolent neutrality" and withdrew from the assembly."

At the bolded, we can easily infer that "Nigerian Politicians" to mean Ibo Politicians.

We can also see how the situation of "ethnic squabbles and disunity" was a hallmark of the then Ibo dominated eastern region.

It wasn't only western Cameroun that were disatisfied with the state of affairs in the old Ibo dominated eastern Nigeria but also virtually every other non Ibo minority groups who had become totally disgusted with the Ibo domineering and oppressive attitude.

The Ibo will tell you that Enugu was the fastest growing city in the world back then but will convinently omit the fact that this came at a great cost to other provinces owing to diversion of all resources to build and construct a brand new capital city deep in the heartland of Ibo land.

In 1960, Azikiwe made the brazen decision to move the capital of eastern Nigeria from Calabar to a coal mining town of Enugu.

Port-Harcourt would have been a better choice as a capital city if Calabar was no longer viable but Azikiwe and his fellow cretins in Enugu arbitrarily moved the capital to a then small remote town deep in Ibo land .

Before there was any talk of northern domination of all spheres of Nigerian governance , it was all being practiced in the old eastern Nigeria with no apologies by the Ibos.

Before there was an Abuja that diverted resources from the south to the north, Ibos had already built their Enugu with the resources of other minorities.

Before there ever existed a nepotic and bigoted Buhari northern government, the Ibos were brazenly running a government exclusively beneficial to only their own people at the detriment of other nationalities trapped in the old eastern region.

The current Ibo position to revisit the old eastern Nigeria under the guise of a revamped Biafra movement is because, just like Ojukwu's Biafra that was formed because of Gowon creating states for the minorities out of the Ibo domineering old eastern region, the Ibo still sees the British handed down old eastern region as the pinnacle of their history where they ruled over their betters with impunity by abusing the democratic process.

Today, same Ibo are crying of marginalisation in Nigeria and complaining about northern hegemony despite them not contributing a damn thing to the national purse while still being the most active supporters of the parasitic leaching centrist system that depends on oil revenue from the SS regions.

The Ibo position today is that only them are supposed to leach on Niger Delta resources and that is why these descendants of slaves are still hell bent on restoring the old eastern Nigeria template be it either in the form of Biafra or return to the Ibo dominated eastern region hence why you will see Ibos being the only ones who reject and mock the SS geopolitical region.

Many an Ibo will lie boldly to your face and tell you that there exist imaginary cultural ties between them and people of western Cameroun.

This is of course all a big lie.

When you ask them where all that brotherly love was in the Plebescite of 1961, they will either lie again and tell you the UN conducted Plebescite was rigged or that western Cameroun parts in the then old eastern region were a victim of propaganda by both the British and northern Nigeria to leave the old eastern Nigeria.

The truth is that western Cameroun people trapped in the old eastern Nigeria were victims of oppressive and marginalising policies of neglect and disenfranchisement carried out by the majority Ibo populace on ethnic minorities trapped in the British drawn colonial borders of eastern Nigeria.

This was not only the plight of just the people of western Cameroun but that of every non Ibo tribes trapped in the British administrative region of the then old eastern Nigeria.

Under southern Nigeria protectorate, there was no clamour for a return to Cameroun as the British administered the whole protectorate through direct rule in a fair and equity manner.

The clamour to leave Nigeria began only when the southern region was split into two and semi autonomous direct rule was introduced by the British.

The minute the majority Ibo got power in 1953, agitations by not only western Cameroun but also other ethnic minorities in the eastern region to be free from the Ibo dominated east began.

So what we have here is evidence of Ibo arrogating and no apologies oppression and marginalisation of ethnic minorities trapped with them in the British created eastern region.

The then Eastern region was the only region that was so restive in terms of ethnic nationalities wanting to be free from it.
PoliticsThe Western Cameroun Plebescite Of 1961 by DeepThroater(op): 7:51am On Aug 13, 2023
Why did northern parts of western Cameroun opt to remain in Nigeria but the Southern Cameroun provinces opt to leave Nigeria?

71% in southern Cameroun voted to leave Nigeria while a similar ratio voted in the north to remain in Nigeria.

The reasons for wanting to stay or leave was as a result of the predicaments and treatments both provincial regions faced in their respective regions to either the northern Nigeria region or eastern Nigeria region.

Cameroun was once a German colony but following the end of WW1 and the treaty of Versailles, Germany was forced to pay war reparations to Britain and France.

German Cameroun was then split into two halves and shared between the British and French.

Britain took the western half and included it into their colonial estate , Nigeria while France took the eastern flank. This arrangement began from 1916 to 1959. The Southern Territories of western Cameroun were lumped with the eastern region of Nigeria while the northern provinces got lumped with northern Nigeria.

In the 50's, a movement sprung up by peoples of western Cameroun lumped into the old Ibo dominated eastern region, demanding they either be allowed to become a region of their own or returned back to Cameroun were they had been carved out from. There was no such movement in the mostly Muslim northern parts of western Cameroun.

Following series of petitions to the British and UN , a referendum was organised in 1959 and later postponed till 1961 on western Cameroun exit from Nigeria.

To the north , the Plebescite returned a result to remain in Nigeria under the northern administrative region. To the south, the result was an overwhelming "No" with over 70% wanting out of Nigeria.

Why were there such diverging opinions between the people of north and south Western Cameroun ?

What some people dont seem to realise is that the creation of states, such as Rivers state, by Gowon, is what the North has used to hold everyone down today. I laughed when that idiot called Governor Wike renamed liberation stadium after Gowon.

The breaking up of the Regions into states by Gowon was the start of "divide and rule" that Gowon and his fellow Northerners would use to dominate all Nigeria to this day

It is strong Regions that make the centre weak so that the federating units can control their destiny

You got Rivers state, but at what cost? You went from almost 75% derivation to 13%. You lost resource control, you lost fiscal federalism and you lost your sovereignty. Your oil wealth has been stolen and carted up North for the last 50 years.

Because you have Rivers state, you have become several times bigger slave than you ever were when you were in the Eastern Nigeria as a province.

Today, you clamour to restructure so as to enjoy what you had before the creation of Rivers State.

State creation benefited the North, but was a very bad thing for the South. Go and ask how how much the 44 local governments of just Kano recieved and compare it with what your 23 Local governments in Rivers state got and you will start to know how state creation was used to cheat you in Rivers
