Politics / Closing Our Borders Is D Best Thing Buhari Did For Us, We Are V Happy -F Adesina by DefHQ: 8:23am On Sep 25, 2021
President Muhammadu Buhari, at a bilateral meeting with Mark Rutte, Prime Minister of the Netherlands, in New York, says Nigeria would have been in serious trouble if he did not close the borders at the time he did.

On the economy, the president said Nigeria took decisions to shut the borders, “eat what we grow, and curb smuggling”, noting that if that had not been done, “we would have been in serious trouble.”

He also told the Dutch leader that Nigeria was preoccupied with terrorists and bandits ravaging the country.

“We are preoccupied with security, and we are getting somewhere,” Femi Adesina quoted the president to have told the Dutch prime minister.

Mr Adesina, the president’s spokesman, indicated that Mr Buhari’s meeting with Mr Rutte took place on Friday, on the sidelines of the 76th UN General Assembly.

The Nigerian leader added that the North-East and the South-South, which were the issues in 2015, stabilised, while efforts had been intensified to restore calm to the North-West, North-Central, and other restive areas.

“We are lucky to have taken the decision when we did; otherwise, things would have been impossible with the advent of COVID-19,” the president explained.

On the spectre of military coups in West Africa, President Buhari told his guest that he was surprised at the attitude of those tampering with the constitution of their countries to stay longer in office.

He assured that ECOWAS was doing the needful to address the developments.

Mr Rutte congratulated the Nigerian president Buhari on successfully leading the country into....

Politics / IPOB's proscription was done in error, Apologize to igbos -Zainab slams G shehu by DefHQ: 5:11pm On Sep 23, 2021
The Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, HURIWA, has counseled Alhaji Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, to wean himself of extreme Northern irredentism and phobia for South-Eastern part of the country by scaling down on his politically motivated rhetorics against the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) and his calculated hate speeches against the detained leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

HURIWA disclosed this in a statement by its National Coordinator, Comrade Emmanuel Onwubiko, and Miss. Zainab Yusuf, the National Media Director, on Thursday.
The rights writers were reacting to Shehu’s statement on Wednesday where the Presidential spokesman said it was shocking to see Yoruba Nation advocates throw their lot in with Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) at the start of UNGA on Tuesday.

HURIWA also accused Shehu of preempting the position of the southeast caucus of the National Assembly that met on Wednesday to set up a working group to negotiate the unconditional release of Nnamdi Kanu.

The statement read in part, “HURIWA accused the Presidential spokesman of preempting the position of the aoutheast caucus of the National Assembly that met yesterday Wednesday, September 15th 2021 to set up a working group to negotiate the unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

“The Rights group alleged that the Senior Special Assistant on media to President Buhari Garba Shehu may have immediately syndicated a provocative and speculative attack against IPOB and Yoruba Nation agitators just so the aggressive attacks against these Southern Nigerian self-determination Campaigners are sustained using Nigeria’s Public Fund and Security Institutions.

“HURIWA is beckoning on the SSA Alhaji Garba Shehu to calm down and read up the legal position published by the Cornell law school on self-determination under international law thus: “Self-determination denotes the legal right of people to decide their own destiny in the international order. Self-determination is a core principle of international law, arising from customary international law, but also recognized as a general principle of law, and enshrined in a number of international treaties. For instance, self-determination is protected in the United Nations Charter and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights as a right of all peoples.

“The Rights group then reminded Garba Shehu that international law scholars confirmed that: “Contemporary notions of self-determination usually distinguish between “internal” and “external” self-determination, suggesting that “self-determination” exists on a spectrum. Internal self-determination may refer to various political and social rights; by contrast, external self-determination refers to full legal independence/secession for the given ‘people’ from the larger politico-legal state. Besides, the Rights group said Advocacy for self determination devoid of armed struggle is not unconstitutional.

“HURIWA recalled that on Wednesday Garba Shehu issued a Statement thus: “Nigerian diaspora groups to use the world’s largest platform – the United Nations General Assembly – to garner attention to their causes is not unexpected. It was, however shocking, to see “Yoruba Nation” advocates yesterday unequivocally throw their lot in with Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB). IPOB is a designated terrorist organisation. It has now publicly revealed a 50,000 strong paramilitary organisation. It regularly murders security services and innocent civilians, with a significant uptick of violent attacks this year. And it is currently attempting to hold Nigerian states hostage with orders to stay at home under threat of terror. Without doubt, Nigerians and the entire world will judge the Yoruba Nation by the company it keeps

Politics / Buhari remains fearless,Despite his role during the Biafran genocide -F Adesina by DefHQ: 4:51pm On Sep 17, 2021
Buhari never rested until government troops massacred Igbos in Civil War genocide:
Femi Adesina.

Buhari did not take a day off in a genocidal Civil War until the government troops massacred an estimated three million Igbos.

President Muhammadu Buhari did not take a day off in a genocidal Civil War he fought on the side of the Nigerian troops until the government troops massacred an estimated three million Igbos, and he remains fearless of the remnant Biafran elements, IPOB, says his media aide.

“I got messages filled with trepidation from home and abroad. Please, prevail on the president to cancel the trip (visit to Imo). He should apologise to Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo state and abort the visit. There could be a bloodbath,” Mr Adesina claimed in a Facebook piece on Thursday.

Mr Buhari had visited Imo last week to inaugurate some projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodimma.

“I only laughed it all off,” femi Adesina continued.

Underlining the president’s fearlessness and genocidal tendency, Mr Adesina reminded Nigerians that until the 30-month war between the federal troops and Biafran soldiers ended, Mr Buhari was restless until some three million Igbos, mostly women, and children, were massacred in a genocide that has been largely ignored by the international media.

“A man, who repeatedly tells us that for the 30 months the Nigerian Civil War lasted, he was right there at the front, not even taking one day off. Is that then the person you would scare from visiting any part of the country?” said Mr Adesina.

In June, Mr Buhari, in a tweet, threatened a repeat of the Civil War genocide in the region, eliciting much condemnation from the public and Twitter’s deletion of the president’s genocidal tweet.

Since then, Mr Buhari and his regime have continued to make rhetorics of the Igbo massacre.

Politics / Drugs From South West Responsible For Banditry, Insecurity – Katsina NAFDAC MD by DefHQ: 11:26am On Sep 15, 2021
The newly deployed State Director of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) in Katsina State, Abdulsalam Badamasi, has said that drug supply from the south is one of the major factors responsible for the security challenges experienced in the state.

Mr. Badamasi, during a courtesy call to Governor Aminu Bello Masari at the state’s Government House, pledged to use his wealth of experience in the drug field
to mitigate the menace of drug abuse in the state.

The state Director of NAFDAC said he was in the government house to inform Masari about the agency’s lined up programme towards mitigating drug abuse in the state.

According to Badamasi, under his watch, only wholesome regulated products would be allowed to thrive.

He equally pledged to join hands with sister agencies and security outfits to decimate to the barest minimum the menace of drugs in the state.

While thanking Masari for the cooperation and regular support NAFDAC enjoys in the state, Badamasi said there is need to embark on mass public enlightenment in schools to sensitise students on the consequences of drug abuse.

He further said as part of plans to win the war against drug abuse in the state, the agency will be partnering with the state government to develop and promote Micro Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) in Katsina State by creating enlightenment through mass media campaigns to empower intending entrepreneurs with the right information.

To that effect, the state NAFDAC boss, appealed to the governor for free weekly slots on the state radio and television to enable the agency actualise this goal.

He equally, appealed for supportive vehicles from the state government to enable the agency engaged in door to door enlightenment as the one the agency has is not enough to cover the state’s 34 local government effectively.

“Your Excellency Sir, I want to assure you that I will do my best to ensure that only wholesome regulated products such as package food and drugs are provided for Katsina people to consume and I will also ensure that I collaborate with other security organisations and other related bodies in the state to ensure that we mitigate the issue of drug abuse in the state because drugs are behind most of the bandits attrocities and other insecurity challenges we are experiencing in Katsina.

“A normal person cannot just wakeup and begin to kill his fellow human beings except under the influence of drugs.

“I have been privilege to work with NAFDAC for over 20 years and I have been working virtually in all parts of the federation. I have been to lots of places.

“In order to achieve that, your Excellency Sir, we have to embark on mass public enlightenment in our schools, that is the secondary schools and even our tertiary institutions as well, so as to sensitize our children on the dangers associated with drug abuse.

“We sincerely appreciate all the support that NAFDAC has been enjoying from its inception to date in Katsina State during your regime and other regimes that came before yours.

“In the same vein, I wish to assure you that we will give our maximum cooperation as regards issue of MSME development. NAFDAC is a critical stakeholder especially in the ease of doing business.

“So we will be partnering with the state investment promotion council to see that all these MSME intending entrepreneurs are encouraged to come and register their products with NAFDAC.

“So we want to use our local media especially the state radio and television to present certain programmes as enlightenment.

“Your Excellency, as you are aware, there is financial constraints everywhere. We may not be able to sponsor such programmes so I want to appeal to your Excellency to allow us or to give us the privilege of using the state media, the radio and television to present perhaps weekly programmes about enlightenment about NAFDAC activities in the state,” Badamasi said.

In his response, Governor Masari assured the agency of the state government’s cooperation while emphasising particularly on MSME development which he described as the backbone of any society.

Politics / Monday sit at home:SE Governors should beg FG to allow Kanu to address Biafrans. by DefHQ: 9:17am On Sep 13, 2021

That's the only way normal Monday activities will resume in the east..

Eastern Governors threatening her citizens and trying to use intimidation to force them out is clearly not working..
Today is Monday, yet people still sat at home, markets are closed and banks have failed to resume.

Politics / Nigeria army are very unprofessional and they lack discipline - faruk yahaya by DefHQ: 9:07am On Sep 08, 2021
Army chief Yahaya has vowed to professionalise Nigerian military no matter what it takes!
Among the things I want to achieve is to return the Nigerian Army soldiers to the professional place where they can do their jobs dutifully.

The army has many times been accused of violating human rights, including using child soldiers to prosecute the Boko Haram war.

Mr Yahaya tasked the regimental sergeant majors (RSMs) to restore the traditions and discipline of the army.

The army chief made the call at the 2021 RSM Convention held at the 2 Division, Nigerian Army Headquarters, on Monday in Ibadan.

Mr Chibuisi said the army could not achieve Mr Yahaya’s vision without having professional and highly regimented sergeant majors that were ready to discharge their responsibilities at all times.

When Individuals begin to change position about issues left right and center, have it at the back of your mind that these people are UP TO NO GOOD. These are the types that make a SIMPLE ISSUE appear COMPLICATED. People that makes issues bigger than what they really are are most times EVIL PEOPLE. They're usually pathological liars. Check that out.

From the beginning, these murderers claimed Cattle rustling in Nigeria, especially Middle Belt was the cause of Fulani violence in Nigeria. But after it was exposed that 99% of cow rustlers in Nigeria are fulanis, they switched the Taqiyya to lack of grazing land. Even going as far as referring to climate change. When their claim was debunked with facts that North West and North East have more arable land compared to Southern Nigeria, with availability of large forest reserves capable for ranching, the murderers changed their Taqiyya again with - the British colonial govt granted grazing routes all over Nigeria for fulani herdsmen. When their claimed was debunked yet again by seasoned lawyers, the murderers are now singing a new Taqiyya song that fulani terrorists should be tolerated. Yes Nigerians who's loved ones were slaughtered and means of livelihood was destroyed should tolerate fulani terrorists murderers, but #EndSars campaigners and Secessionist, exercising their God given fundamental human rights, campaigning for better life and freedom, people who never slaughtered a soul were instead tolerated with bullets, blood and deaths. Tolerance indeed.
How stupid do these Northern murderers think we're? They'll all pay for every soul slaughtered by fulani terrorists in Nigeria.
Bloody murderers.

TAQIYYA: Fulani herdsmen need RUGA/Grazing Routes for livelihood.
REAL INTENTION: To wipe out indigenous people and change the ethnic demography of Nigeria with fulani tribe in every state in Nigeria.
You understand those people very well

Politics / Kanu, igboho, should emulate Mandela, push for a better Nigeria- VP Osinbnjo by DefHQ: 8:03am On Aug 31, 2021
*****In addition to leaders making sacrifices, the Vice President said the notion of respectful dialogue is very crucial especially “at this time” for all parties.

In situations of conflict, including ethnic and religious tensions, Nigerians must be willing to make sacrifices even at the risk of their popularity in order to attain long-lasting resolutions, peace, and progress, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN has said.

Prof. Osinbajo stated this Monday when he received on a courtesy visit to the Presidential Villa, a delegation from the Muslim Public Affairs Centre (MPAC), led by its Executive Chairman, Mr Disu Kamor.

The Vice President said, “There is a need to understand first of all, that there is no way that we can deal with the tensions between the faiths and ethnicities in Nigeria today unless Nigerians are prepared to make some important sacrifices.

Citing the examples of the sacrifices made by the late South African leader, Nelson Mandela, Osinbajo said “we can all talk nicely and say the right things but unless people are prepared to make some concessions which may cost them popularity within their own group, we cannot move forward.

Nelson Mandela, who had spent such a long time in jail under Apartheid before he became President still pushed for a South Africa where even his tormentors got equal treatment like his fellow black South Africans.

His words: “the whole idea of promoting respect for other faiths and people of other ethnicities and beliefs is a very important thing especially now in our country with what we are seeing.”

Politics / Hope uzodimma hires 'barnished Otokoto boys' to help in fight against IPOB/ESN by DefHQ: 5:21am On Aug 30, 2021
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has said that the killings and beheading of people in Imo State were allegedly being carried out by the current Imo State government, which it said brought back fraudsters and ritualists who were chased out of the state during the Otokoto riot.

IPOB in a statement by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said: “We know their characters, their homes and their stories well, and know how the assigned governor of Imo State was hobnobbing with them as a Senator, and it was a matter of him becoming the Imo State chief executive for them to return with their boys to hide under the name of the government to continue unleashing terror on the people, the reason for which they were chased out of the state in the first place.

“We want Imo State elders and political elites to ask the state governor, why his government has brought back people that were chased out of the state for their crimes back to continue their atrocious activities?

“Imo elders and political elites should tell themselves the truth and be bold enough to confront the man they call their governor to ask him what has gone wrong and why the crooks are back in the state and some now made part of the government.”

IPOB asked those linking ESN, to the killings and beheading, to shut their mouths, saying that the ritualists and fraudsters, the governor allegedly brought boys brought back under the Senator Hope Uzodinma government in Imo State are behind the killings and beheading going on in the state.

IPOB, therefore, wondered why Imo State citizens particularly, the elites have all turned blind, deaf and dumb, to the alleged bizarre things happening in the state under the current administration, but would be fast to conclude, believe hook line and sinker that it was the same ESN operatives that were protecting the state and other South-East states from killer herdsmen and other terrorist elements that were behind the heinous crimes.

IPOB also condemned the alleged incessant unprovoked killings and attacks on innocent citizens of Imo State by the Nigeria security agencies supervised allegedly by the Commissioner of Police Imo State, Abutu Yaro.

According to IPOB, “We strongly condemn incessant unprovoked killings and attacks on innocent citizens of Imo State by the Nigeria security agencies supervised allegedly by the Commissioner of Police Imo State, Abutu Yaro.

“The victims of this secret genocide are tagged ESN operatives and IPOB members by the wicked security agencies who give them a wrong identity to justify their extra-judicial killing.

“For sure, every Igbo man and woman is IPOB but not ESN. ESN is a child of necessity and not for everybody. It is for a special group for a definite assignment which is mandated to defend our ancestral land our mothers, wives and sisters against the Fulani invaders.

It is sheer wickedness for the Police and its sister security agencies to be killing Imo youths like fowls after parading them as ESN and IPOB members, while our governors, politicians and traditional rulers are keeping mute.

“Those killing our youth and tagging them IPOB and ESN will surely pay for their wickedness. We will no longer allow these double-faced fellows who cannot confront Fulani bandits to be randomly killing our people and labelling them IPOB and ESN operatives.

“The International community should not believe Nigeria and their lies against IPOB and ESN. The security agencies have tried hard to penetrate ESN, but it was not easy for them, then they decided to use propaganda and false allegations and information against IPOB and ESN.

“Imo State governor in his desperation to demonize ESN and create confusion allowed security agencies o implicate innocent citizens of the state as IPOB, and has been encouraging them to kill his people, but he will one day regret all his actions.”

“Any criminal or armed robber caught in Imo State now is branded ESN operative by Fulani Police Commissioner in Owerri. The pictures of those in the story published as arrested ESN operatives are suspects of other offences as well as innocent Biafrans.

The Nigeria Police has taken it as a norm every month to attack youths, parade them and brand them IPOB and ESN, to implicate innocent and responsible Biafra agitating group and our beloved ESN, security network.”

Politics / Bishop Ndubisi Obi: Leave IPOB/ESN Alone, Go After Bandits & Terrorists by DefHQ: 4:40am On Aug 30, 2021
ONITSHA – The Bishop, Diocese of Nnewi Anglican Communion, Anambra State, Rt. Rev Ndubisi Obi has called on the Federal Government to vigorously pursue the kidnap of pupils, students by bandits rather than tackling the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its vigilante’s arm, Eastern Security Network (ESN).

Bishop Ndubisi spoke during a press briefing at the Bishop’s Court as he addresses national issues and announced the 9th session of Diocese of Nnewi Anglican Communion synod, Anambra State scheduled to kick off on September 2 at St. James Church, Ichi, Ekwusigo Council Area.

He blamed people at the corridors of power for creating more problems in the country than providing solutions to resolve national issues.

The Bishop expressed displeasure at the dissipation of energy by the Federal Government by deploying soldiers to Imo State in pursuit of members of the IPOB and ESN leaving bandits and armed herdsmen to ravage in the North as well as other parts of the country, killing, maiming and kidnapping for ransom.

“When you talk about agitation, what leads to that is when the government of the day is not sensitive to what the people are passing through. Instead of doing the right thing, they do the wrong one.

“So, the Church cannot but advise on what government should do to stop what brings about the agitation.

“Just look at the way they are handling security issues in this country. I continue to ask myself why the government should send the military to pursue the IPOB and its ESN in Imo State when bandits in Northern Nigeria kidnap school children and students of higher institutions at will. Sometimes they will be more than 100 and are herded into the forest for ransom. And the bandits do these things and go scot-free but every effort is channelled towards the pursuit of agitators,” the Bishop said.
