Music/Radio / Heart Of The City Remix ( #aluu4 Tribute Song ) by DeJeffo: 11:34pm On Oct 17, 2012
As You all know by now, On Friday October 5th, four students of the University of Port Harcourt (Chidiaka, Tekena, Lloyd and Ugonna) were beaten and burnt to death by the people of Aluu Community in Rivers State.

I do believe that by now we all must have heard the news, seen pictures, and watched the terrific video which went viral. The people of ALUU have just killed 4 potential future leaders while the real thieves walk the corridors of power, flexing their lean muscles. How did we get here? How did we become so heartless? Well, I believe that time will tell what the future hold for this country for our value system is shifting gradually to vanity.

LOVA & Yung Slick of the YBMH Music Group went into the recording booth and came out with a REMIX to the joint originally done by two of #Aluu4 victims, HEART OF THE CITY. Pretty impressive lines.. RIP to the #Aluu4

Efforts like this are commendable so that we don't forget the Severity of this crime and let it be swept under the rug. Listen Download and feel free to share it.

Blue moon: the p-square name got me wondering too. and as for 9ice ....if we pronounce it correctly it will be "nine ice" tongue

Maybe if a different set of Twins called Taiye and Taiwo burst on to the scene, they should call themselves Tee-Square grin grin wink
Music/Radio / Re: Iyanya Ft D’banj – Kukere Remix by DeJeffo: 1:01pm On Aug 21, 2012
People just hating on D'Banj for no reason.
His verse on this Kukere Remix is just d kind of thing he is known for....nothing new!
If you liked him before or you liked d lyrics of Oliver Twist then you shouldn't have a problem with this song.
Celebrities / Re: Ten Worst Nigerian Celebrity Stage Names (Part 1) by DeJeffo: 5:30pm On Aug 20, 2012
Buhahaha! Like I said this article isn't a personal attack on any celebrity. Its just meant to poke fun at their names....Just for laughs

I'm a big fan of Ice Prince and Probably one of the biggest Mode 9 fans. But I'm also a writer, hence I must provoke thought, emotion, and start an arguement.

If you're too dumb to cultivate a sense of humour (@izeek and co) i suggest u take ur opinion and shuv it in that most unpleasant place where d sun don't shine.

Celebrities / Ten Worst Nigerian Celebrity Stage Names (Part 1) by DeJeffo: 12:16am On Aug 20, 2012
So here’s the thing about choosing a name for yourself when you decide on a career in music; you have to pick something witty like say… Royce Da 5’9, M.I, or even something Bold like Madonna, RuggedMan or Just keep it simple and stick with you real name like Omawunmi, R.Kelly, Dare, Ikechukwu etc.

Whatever you Choose sha, has to be ‘Cool’, Witty (if you’re wise like that), Unique, have a clear meaning and most importantly it has to blend with your Image as an artist (imagine if Michael Jackson called himself “Mister Shiny pants’).

Unfortunately when you’re still an up and coming act, you don’t have a team of PR/A&R people at your beck and call, ready to advise and direct your every career move.

So your options for picking a perfect Stage name may not be well advised.

Now bear In Mind I’m a huge fan of Naija Music and this List in no way is a reflection of the quality of Music they make -cos they do make Good music. So here I present to you what –In MY SUPREME opinion- are the worst Nigerian musician stage names in recent history:

10- KC PRESH

This one seems like the Laziest choice these dudes could come up with! Apparently they blended their individual names to form the one of the most characterless names ever. Even worse is how convenient it was to break apart their identities when the group split.

A good Group name is supposed to make the acts seem like one unique unit, Kinda like Destiny’s Child, Boyz II Men, Plantashun boiz, Wutang Clan etc.

9 – MODE 9

Yes! Yes! I know what you’re thinking, how dare I! Modenine is a great Lyricist, Naijas best Rapper….. blah blah blah. And you may very well be absolutely right!

But that doesn’t change the fact that this name has ridiculous origins and even worse makes no sense to the common, no-hip-hop-listening-to Nigerian on the street. What is a Mode 9? Wetin dat Wan mean? Is it some kind of Intergalactic, mystical Hardcore Puzzle that we feeble minded humans failed to unravel?

8 - ICE PRINCE

Dude is a very talented, can rap…. Can sing….. Can make Hit Music …can make silly hair styles trend etc. I admit I’m a Fan.

But I just can’t get past this name. When you put on your radio and hear a New Rapper hollering “2 CHAINZ!!” It’s no surprise when you see him in Videos and public appearances rocking two Diamond chains…abi? Or someone call himself Six Foot Plus and is actually that tall…right? Or a short dude calling himself Lil Wayne etc.

But this broda! I no Understand d guy sef! Ok obviously he’s not a Prince in the traditional sense, cos there are not that many in Naija sef, but then the ICE? I have never seen him rocking anything that can pass for Ice or Bling, or maybe he is talking about Ice Cubes …maybe He has a castle made of Ice where he is the Prince and has little droplets of ice as servants.

I once believed that he maybe had an ‘Ice-Cold Personality’ but then he started rocking skinny Jeans and that Theory went down the toilet!

A truly mind blowing Unsolved Mystery

7 - Baba Fryo

Ahhhh! This guy own dey obvious na… you don’t know? His First Son is named Fryo, so the only logical thing to do was to call himself Baba fryo…..10/10 Chikena!

And if you don’t know who Baba Fryo is, ask your Daddy!

6 - P-SQUARE

Their names are Peter and Paul, so naturally it seemed like a good Idea to call themselves P square.

However…since it’s obvious that they dodged Math class, somebody should have told them that the correct name should be P squared

In any case, that would have still been a silly name. I guess success can make anything seem cool

*I’ll end here for now and for several reasons; (A) I hate reading long articles and I don’t want to put anyone through that kind of Torture!

(B) I’m Lazy!

(C) I’m Lazy!

(D) I want to get some reader feedback before I publish the rest! ….. so wait for Part 2

Politics / So-called Bomber Caught In Radio House Abuja, Fact Or Fiction? by DeJeffo: 11:03pm On May 22, 2012
I’m sure by now that anyone who pays any kind of attention to the incidents that occur in the colourful political circus of our beloved country Nigeria, has heard or watched the news reports about the alleged Bomber caught in the premises of the Ministry of Information yesterday; May 21st 2012.

Now I have to ask, is it just me or does somebody else smell the humongous load of Bullshit trailing this incident? A lot of questions have been left unanswered and quite frankly my mind is more boggled than a paranoid drug addict who can’t remember where he parked his Car! Ok, so lets examine the facts;

The Director of The state security service (whose name I don’t care to remember because there is limited space in whats left of the usable 10% of my brain-and I Like to save it for more important stuff like how many pairs of boxer shorts I have) said in a statement aired on AIT News that the “Bomber” was caught with two canisters of Tear gas and Some ammunition for AK-47 machine guns-no Grenades.
Just after that a ranking officer in the Police force ( whose name I don’t concern myself with for same reasons as stated above) said that ‘they’ intercepted the man with a bag containing grenades and live ammunition for AK-47 machine guns.
The man had already gotten past the main gate before he was caught.
The Culprit has a coherent cover story- quite far from plausible perhaps even idiotic, but as far as we know has narrated it several times consistently.

So now here are my questions:

Since when did Boko Haram start doing walk-ins during an attack? All previous incidents involved some sort of Automobile machine, abi?
Doesn’t it seem like the Security agencies are taking too much credit for what happened?
For the love of God! How can two prominent ‘intelligence’ agencies have conflicting facts about an Incident that occurred just a few hours ago? Does it not show that our security may be in the hands of clueless Buffoons?
Why was the suspect carrying Ak-47 ammunition with no gun to use it with if his intention was to blow up the building?
Assuming the suspect is telling the truth, what kind of mental retard walks the street with a bag full of suspiciously obtained weapons?

I have confidence that none of my questions will be answered to my satisfaction.
