That is about 15 additional policemen per local government area. Even if all will be patrol cops this is paltry. Simply cannot cover all the area, all the time with all the resolve required to tackle insecurity.

This is not a problem fixing solution, just a stop gap, feel good gesture.

The govt has also ordered the recruitment of additional 20,000 policemen.

They already made their submission. They have no reason to reply Kanu unless he opens his defence. There're procedures in court. The prosecutor can only respond when Kanu opens his defence because whatever Kanu has been saying will be expunged from the judgement. It is not part of it.

The last time I checked, Government is continuity. You don't start such an ambitious project like the coastal highway without doing the ones you meet on ground
That's why we keep having incomplete and abandon projects all over the place.

You guys don't factor in the fact that the road is divided into segments. The Benin /Asaba axis would have been completed before the whole section of the road is done. Whichever portion of the road is completed can be put into use. Also, if you read my first post well, I did not say Govt should abandon existing roads and only concentrate on the new roads. I just highlighted the benefits of the new one. Yes, Govt is a continuum. I am sure in 100 years to come, some roads will still need repair or new one constructed. But many of our people are one way in their thinking. This thing is not mutually exclusive. I.e you build new road and then abandon all old /existing roads. Both can happen simultaneously. I am sure there are existing roads in the country that are currently being rehabilitated. All the roads cannot be done at the same time. And you cannot also say you have to wait untill you repair all the existing roads before you build a new one. I hope it is clear now.

Nigeria is under represented going by our population. Senegal is only 18.5 million people.

Second, Edo State is part of the bitumen belt which is the 2nd largest reserve in the world after Canada and the bitumen belt extends from Lagos to Ogun to Ondo (the epicenter of the bitumen reserves) and Edo States. Yet nothing is being done to maximize the extraction of bitumen with bitumen refineries for road construction and other value additions. The bitumen reserves is officially more than the entire crude oil reserves in Nigeria!
