Hmmmmm. The link between South East and Boko Haram.. Boko Haram insurgents in camouflage military uniform attacked a Nigerian Army camp in Borno State on Thursday, killing at least one officer and 30 soldiers while two officers and 17 soldiers were seriously wounded. Abuja – Mr Joseph Attah, the Public Relations Officer, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), said the Service seized a container load of military uniforms and other items on Friday along Aba- Port Harcourt road. 440 pump action riffles intercepted by Customs Attah, who said this in a statement on Friday in Abuja, noted that examination of the container was conducted in the presence of the owner’s representative. “The roving team of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU) Zone C, have seized a container with registration number MRSU 3040288 found to carry military uniforms and other items along Aba- Port Harcourt road. ” The container was taken to owerri where proper examination in the presence of the representative of the owner revealed the followings, 11 bales containing new sets of sawn military camouflage. ” Each bale contain 400 pairs of sawn military camouflage, 15 cartons containing Altama combat boots each carton contains 20 pairs and some sacks of made up garments. ” Seven Wooden furniture kitchen cabinets, 337 packs of new foreign tiles made in China, 27 medical equipment made in China, 34 rolls of water hose made in China and some household items,” Attah said. RENO OMOKRI AND HIS SATANIC VERSES BY NATHANIEL C. ADOJI Aug 28, 2018 Satan the father of all liars will feel threatened by Reno Omokri’s constant and steady rise in his area of expertise. Omokri has told so many lies that one begins to doubt if he was born Reno Omokri. But Satan can take comfort in the fact that he is crafty and clever while Omokri is dumb and ignorant, he can’t keep up with his strings of lies. His latest attempt was in a poorly written piece titled “Sadly, Nigeria has a Pinocchio for a vice-president” published online. Omokri, a supposed pastor who was thrown out of Jonathan’s administration tried to malign the personality of Prof Yemi Osinbajo, Nigeria’s Vice President in this recent diatribe. What Omokri attempted to do was to compare the successes and achievements between the Jonathan and Buhari administration but what he succeeded in doing was to praise the Buhari administration for its achievement. Omokri claimed that “former President Jonathan can point to exactly 8956 projects that he initiated, started and completed, I challenge the Buhari government to name just three projects that they have initiated, started and completed in the last three years.” Many Nigerians cannot readily recall any project that Jonathan started and finished talk less 8956 projects, this is just another bad dream by a drowning man whose followers are fast dwindling because of his Multi-Personality Disorder syndrome. Since he wants to know the projects initiated, started and completed by the Buhari administration, he will get it. The National Home Grown School Feeding Programme was introduced by the Buhari administration and overseen by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo. The programme currently feeds 8.5 million pupils across 24 states on daily basis. Then there is the Anchor Borrowers’ Programme which was launched by President Buhari’s administration six months after it was sworn-in. The programme creates a linkage between anchor companies involved in the processing and small holder farmers of required key agricultural commodities. The programme has increased banks’ financing to the agricultural sector, reduced agricultural commodity importation and reduce level of poverty among smallholder farmers among others. Over 600,000 farmers currently benefit from this scheme. N-Power is another project that is designed to create employment and empower the youths. N-Power provides an opportunity to achieve inclusion and productivity in Nigeria. N-Power creates jobs and is one of the initiatives of the Social Investment Programme. As at today over 500,000 people have been recruited and it will be over one million by the end of 2018. The creation of opportunities for youths to leverage innovation in technology through the introduction of the Aso Villa Demo Day (AVDD) through which over N700 million has been disbursed to young entrepreneurs so has the revitalization of the Made-in-Nigeria campaign. The Buhari administration has improved fertiliser distribution and access across states through the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative. This has increased Nigeria’s production of rice and has not only help us stop importation but has made us potential exporters. The ongoing Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme commenced in November 2016 in collaboration with the Bank of Industry, where soft loans ranging from N10, 000 to N100, 000 have been given to over 350,000 market women and traders across different states. These are all collateral-free loans. Conditional Cash Transfer scheme, under which over 400,000 less privileged Nigerians so far are now being funded with the monthly N5,000. The establishment of MSMEs Clinics, a small Business support programme to support entrepreneurs and small businesses in different states as well as the establishment of One-Stop-Shops to support policies on Ease of Doing Business. There’s no gainsaying that electricity generation and distribution has improved greatly. During the Jonathan administration, Nigerians bought generators every year always had at least two because they perpetually had no light but that’s all changed. There is a fair share of electricity for all. Buhari’s administration commissioned the super fast 187-kilometre Abuja-Kaduna railway and the Abuja metro. Even though Omokri claims his former boss completed both projects we know it’s a BIG FAT LIE. If he did it would have been in use but that was not the case. There are major infrastructural achievements recorded. The Lagos-Ibadan expressway; Enugu-Onitsha expressway, East-West road, Abuja-Lokoja-Benin expressway, Kano-Maiduguri expressway, Second Niger Bridge, Enugu-Port Harcourt expressway among others. Another giant stride of the Buhari administration is the creation and successful completion of Modular Refineries. Only recently, a team from the office of the Vice President visited the OPAC refinery site located at Umuseti, Kwale, in Delta State. Thirty-eight modular refineries were granted licences to operate in the Niger Delta region and at least two will be ready by December 2018. Feel free to throw in June 12 as the new Democracy Day and as recognition of late Chief MKO Abiola feat during the 1993 general election. The list of achievements is endless, and I can go on and on. For people like Omokri sowing the seed of discord is what they have been ordained to do. He lives with his family in the United States but will stop at nothing to see Nigeria burn. It’s important to note that for “End Time” pastor Omokri and his ilk they will stop at nothing to take away peace from Nigeria once they don’t have access to steal our commonwealth. They will prefer to bring down any government they cannot steal from, and It’s time we ignore this E.T. looking dude and concentrate on more important issues. More lies and satanic commentaries would continue to ooze out of Reno, but like the Bible shows us, we would continue to cast them out. Nathaniel C. UNEXPLAINED WEALTH ORDERS IN USE: HERE’S AT LEAST 5 CASES THE POLICE SHOULD CONSIDER TODAY! Written by Transparency International UK on Wednesday, 31 January 2018 Today, Unexplained Wealth Orders (UWOs) come in to force. They are a new investigative power designed to help law enforcement act on corrupt assets. This is something that Transparency International has been advocating for since 2014. For more on what UWOs are and how they work in practice, see our brief guide here. They are particularly useful where there is no realistic prospect of cooperation or conviction in the country of origin, but there are sufficient grounds for suspicion that an asset has been acquired with the proceeds of corruption. Based on open source information, we have pulled together five cases where we believe law enforcement should consider using UWOs in forming a case for civil recovery proceedings against potentially illicit wealth. 1. KENWOOD GATE, HAMPSTEAD LANE, LONDON Suspected owner: First family of Azerbaijan Estimated Value: £18 million Photo: OCCRP In 2015, the Organised Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) uncovered an £18 million mansion on Hampstead Lane, North London, belonging to the First family of Azerbaijan. According to Land Registry documents the mansion is owned by Beckforth Services Limited – an Isle of Man company. Official company documents from 2000 state that Beckforth was controlled by Ilham Aliyev, the country’s current President, and his wife Mehriban, who is his now Vice President. In 2012 the registered shareholder was recorded as Leyla Aliyeva, Ilham and Mehriban’s eldest daughter. Since then it has been recorded as a British Virgin Island company, Sonymore Limited, and then another Isle of Man company, Locki Limited, of which Leyla was the sole shareholder until 2014. Since then Locki’s registered shareholder has also been Sonymore and its current shareholder is itself as a trustee of another company. At the time the property was bought Ilham Aliyev was Vice President of the country’s state-owned oil company, SOCAR, and his father was the country’s President. There is no public documentation about Ilham’s wealth or income at the time when the house was purchased. However, the First family of Azerbaijan are alleged by the OCCRP to have collected vast amounts of personal wealth by abusing their positions of power. Ilham Aliyev has been the country’s President since 2003 and currently has an official annual salary of £75,000. Although elected officials are not yet required to publish the details of their assets, latest estimates by the OCCRP claim the Aliyev family hold a global property portfolio worth at least £100 million, including £41 million in London real estate. 2. FLATS 138A AND 138B, 4 WHITEHALL COURT, LONDON Suspected owner: Igor Shuvalov, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Estimated Value: £11.44 million In 2014 the First Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Igor Shuvalov, published an anti-corruption declaration which showed amongst other properties, he rented a flat in London just 10 minutes’ walk from the Houses of Parliament. Contrary to this, however, anti-corruption campaigner Alexey Navalny alleges that Shuvalov owns flats Flat 138A and Flat 138B in 4 Whitehall Court, which in total are worth £11.44 million. Land registry documents show the properties are owned by Sova Real Estate LLC, which according to official records obtained by Navalny indicate is owned by Shuvalov and his wife. It is unclear how Shuvalov was able to afford the apartments. His 2014 asset declaration lists his official salary as £112,000 meaning it would take him 76 years to pay for these Westminster properties. The value of the flats also exceeds the joint wealth of Shuvalov and his wife, which are listed on his 2014 declaration as £634,000. When questioned about his ownership of foreign properties, Shuvalov acknowledged that he owned a number of properties through holding companies in a 2014 interview however Navalny claims he has never spoken publicly about the London property. 3. DOWN HOUSE AND FAIRVIEW, CHESTNUT AVENUE, GUILDFORD Suspected owner: Ahmed Mahmoud Azwai, former Libyan Major General Price: £1 million These two properties, worth a combined value of £1 million, are owned by a British Virgin Islands (BVI) company called ATT Universal Holdings Limited. According to a Buzzfeed investigation in 2016, this BVI company is controlled by Ahmed Mahmoud Azwai, a former Major General during Muammar Qaddafi’s regime who was responsible for the country’s long-range missile stockpile. We understand from available information that the state salary for Major General’s in the Libyan arms is around £4,000 per year. During his time in public service he did not release any declarations stating his personal assets or income. 4. 7 AND 8 WHITTAKER STREET, BELGRAVIA, LONDON Suspected owner: Bukola Saraki, President Nigerian Senate Price: £9 million and £6 million Photo: Google Maps Land Registry documents show that these two addresses are owned by Landfield International Developments Limited and Renocon Property Development Limited. Based on current market estimates by Zoopla, the properties are worth a combined total of around £15 million. According to data released as part of the Panama Papers, these companies were controlled by Toyin Saraki, the wife of the President of the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki as well as one of his personal aides. At the time of these revelations, none of these offshore holdings were reported in Saraki’s official asset declarations. Previous public disclosures by Saraki have indicated he has high levels of unexplained wealth. In 2003, his asset declaration showed he had amassed tens of millions of pounds worth of assets during his time as director of Société Générale Bank and Special Assistant to the President on Budget. The explanation he provided for these acquisitions was stated simply as “business”. Saraki is involved in an ongoing court case around allegations of false asset declarations from his tenure as Governor of Kwara state. When asked by The Guardian about these properties, Saraki stated said he had declared all his assets correctly and in accordance with Nigerian legislation. 5. 16-16A AVENFIELD HOUSE AND 17-17A AVENFIELD HOUSE, PARK LANE, LONDON Suspected owner: Nawaz Sharif, former Prime Minister of Pakistan Price: At least £8 million Land Registry documents show that these four properties are owned by two companies registered in the BVI: Nescoll Limited and Nielsen Limited. According to information published as part of the Panama Papers, these companies were controlled by the former Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif. In 2017, Pakistani authorities initiated an investigation into these assets, which found that they were purchased without a mortgage between 1993 and 1995, just after Sharif reported a growth in wealth without any plausible declared source of income. *In July 2017, Sharif was removed from office after the investigation found that he had failed to disclose these properties on his official asset declaration. https://www.transparency.org.uk/uwo-consider-today/#.W34tAs5Kipq

Buhari to inaugurate largest brewery in West Africa Published August 21, 2018 Samuel Awoyinfa, Abeokuta President Muhammadu Buhari will lead other eminent Nigerians to inaugurate a $250m brewery owned by International Breweries Plc next week Tuesday. The Plant Manager, Mr. Tony Agah, disclosed this on Monday to journalists during a media tour of the brewery located at Km 3 Flowergate Industrial Scheme, Sagamu-Abeokuta Expressway, Ogun State. He said the IB Plc is part of the AB InBev Group, the world’s largest brewer. Agah said other eminent Nigerians expected at the event include Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment Okechukwu Enelamah; and the global chief executive officer of AB InBev, Mr. Carlos Brito, among others. The new brewery is the fourth plant to be established in the country, as the IB Plc has three others in Ilesa, Onitsha and Port Harcourt. While Agah explained that the new plant is one of the Foreign Direct Investments which came into the country in the last two years, he added that the first phase of the development of the plant had been completed with over 300 Nigerians already employed. He said many more indirect employment would also be created in due course. He said, “Given the importance of this event, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, is expected to perform the inauguration of the facility. “The governor of the state, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, will be hosting all of us, as our landlord. Other eminent Nigerians and officials of AB InBev, especially the global CEO, Mr. Carlos Brito, will lead the celebration. “The new brewery will be the company’s largest plant within the group in Africa outside the one in South Africa. This will have a significant multiplier effects on the value chain within Ogun State and its environs. “It will provide direct and indirect employment, make available global brands locally and support Nigeria’s foreign direct investment aspiration.” The Managing Director, IB Plc, Annabelle Degroot, speaking about the inauguration, described the plant as a major step towards the company’s strategic goal of producing high-quality drinks locally. He said, “International Breweries Plc is a brand that places a premium on quality. Bearing this in mind, we will spare no expense or effort in ensuring that Nigerians are treated to the best traditions in brewing, with outstanding recipes, superior ingredients, innovation and world-class techniques.” https://punchng.com/buhari-to-inaugurate-largest-brewery-in-west-africa/

APC VP candidacy: Saraki salutes Tinubu’s sacrifice Published on December 18, 2014 By Timothy Enietan-Matthews Former Kwara State Governor, Senator Bukola Saraki has commended the sacrifice and contribution of former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to the development of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and democracy in Nigeria. Saraki also welcomed the emergence of Prof. Yemi Osinbajo as the running mate of the presidential candidate of APC, General Muhammadu Buhari. Saraki, in a statement said: “The emergence of Professor Yemi Osinbajo – a Professor of law; a well-ranked academic; a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN); and a committed pastor of unquestionable integrity from South-West Nigeria further attests to the commitment of the All Progressives Congress to fairness and equality. “Most importantly, I would like to commend the National Leader of our party, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for the sacrifice and contribution to the development of APC and democracy in Nigeria. No doubt, from his precedents as a forward-thinking Governor of Lagos State, and his profile as one of the foremost democrats in Nigeria, the people of the South-West and a large block of voters wanted Asiwaju as running mate to General Buhari. “Historically, the South-West is known not to pay attention to religion but competence when picking candidates for positions, but due to Tinubu’s belief in the Nigerian project, which he sees as bigger than any individual interest, he made it clear that we cannot ignore the current happenings around the country that require that as a party, we must take extra caution and be sensitive to every ethnicity and religion by picking a Christian candidate. “Despite what has been reported on the pages of some newspapers, some of us privy to the happenings behind closed doors attest to the leadership role of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which led to the emergence of Osinbajo, an erudite scholar and a dogged advocate of the people. “In the same spirit, I must also commend other leaders of the APC who have continuously made sacrifices in the interest of the party and Nigeria at large. Leaders like Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Owelle Rochas Okorocha who on Thursday December 11, 2014 after the presidential primaries made similar sacrifices by pledging their support to General Buhari, contrary to speculations by naysayers that the APC would implode either after the primary or in the course of the nomination of its vice-presidential candidate. APC has, once again, demonstrated that national interests are paramount in the guiding principle of the party, as opposed to personal ambition. “I use this opportunity to congratulate all party stakeholders, most especially the presidential candidate for the success of the process in the selection of the Vice-Presidential candidate; this process has once again demonstrated to Nigerians the preparedness of APC to run an efficient and transperent government, putting to shame those that have said the party was made up of people with personal ambitions,” he said. http://dailypost.ng/2014/12/18/apc-vp-candidacy-saraki-salutes-tinubus-sacrifice/ |

Insecurity: NEC begins moves to decentralise police operations Published August 17, 2018 Olalekan Adetayo, Abuja The National Economic Council presided over by the acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo (SAN), on Thursday commenced the process that could eventually lead to the decentralisation of the operations of the Nigeria Police Force as one of the ways to tackle insecurity in the county. The National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno, disclosed this to State House correspondents at the end of the council’s meeting held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The council which is chaired by Osinbajo has all state governors and relevant ministers as members. Monguno said the council would set up a committee to achieve its goals of decentralising the police. He said the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, would head the committee that would have representatives from the six geopolitical zones of the country as members. “The council (NEC) decided that a committee would be set up with representation from each of the geopolitical zones to be chaired by the IGP so that we find ways of decentralising police operations so that there will be greater access to information and handling this (security) situation will be easier rather than a centralised and cumbersome approach,” he said. He said the decision to set up the committee was reached after he, on behalf of the nation’s security agencies, briefed council members on the general overview of the security situation in the country. He said increasing security threats underscored the need to deal with the problems collectively. Security challenges can’t be tackled in short period – NSA Meanwhile, Monguno has said the nation’s security challenges cannot be completely tackled within a short period. He however expressed the belief that collaboration among the tiers of government would go a long way in addressing the challenges. He added, “It is true that it is the responsibility of the security agencies to deal with these threats, but the complexities of insecurity in the 21st century are such that you need a whole of government and a whole of society approach in dealing with these issues. “I emphasised to the council the need for the states to collaborate with and support the Federal Government in dealing with each individual threat and find a way of linking with security agencies so that we can find a lasting solution. “These things cannot be overcome within a short period; that is the hard truth. What we have decided to do is to work on certain methods.” The NSA said the council reviewed the resolutions and recommendations of the 2017 Security Summit after which the state governors agreed to work with the security agencies on all the issues that were raised. He said all the recommendations from the summit would be revisited. Monguno added that the Federal Government was looking at other issues in dealing with problems coming from outside the shores of the country. These problems, he said, were being collated by the security agencies and a team would be set up under the supervision of his office to deal with the threats. Monguno also said the improvement in security situations in some parts of the country had nothing to do with the fact that general elections are approaching. “Several new operations have been launched. These operations are being reviewed in a more coordinated manner with other agencies that are not directly within the military component but with other MDAs and that have resulted in improvement and it has nothing to do with elections approaching,” he said. While also admitting the difficulty in coordinating the activities of different security agencies, Monguno said his office had in the last couple of weeks been addressing inter-agencies issues. He said Nigerians would soon begin to notice improvements. The NSA also disclosed that the government had started probing the claim by the International Committee of the Red Cross that 17,000 Nigerians are missing. “That report is being looked at by different agencies of government and we are awaiting their reports before we can comment on that,” he said. https://punchng.com/insecurity-nec-begins-moves-to-decentralise-police-operations-2/

If Nigeria Doesn’t Realize It’s The Giant Of Africa, Africa Is Doomed, Kenyan Lawyer Says Patrick Lumumba, director of Kenya School of Laws, says Nigeria must improve its healthcare system to discourage President Muhammadu Buhari from going abroad on medical vacation. Lumumba said this on Wednesday while speaking at Summit Of The Alternatives (SOTA) in Abuja. The professor spoke to the audience via Skype. The former director of Kenya’s Anti-Corruption Commission said Nigeria ought to be the political Mecca or Jerusalem to which other Africans come for pilgrimage. Lumumba said the dearth of leadership in Nigeria “is the missing link in Africa’s greatness”. “The time has come that we must recognize that what Nigeria does is important to Africa. Nigeria and Nigerian leaders must recognize that Nigeria ought to be the political Mecca or Jerusalem to which we pay pilgrimage or visit to pay homage,” he said. ‘When the Nigerian leader wakes up to this reality, Africa will be great. For you who know that Africa is a continent under siege, this is the time. This is the time for Nigeria to provide leadership in politics. This is the time for the Nigerian President, members of parliament and local leaders to liberate themselves and recognize that politics must be sanitized. “It is time for Nigeria to know that her GDP must no longer be held down at $500 billion but at $3 trillion GDP economy. It is time for Nigeria to begin the revival of her textile industry. Nigeria must make sure that her oil industry is levelled up so that she does not produce crude oil, export crude oil and import refined products. Nigeria must improve her agriculture. “This is the time that Nigeria must improve her healthcare (system) so that the president does not sojourn in foreign land on medical vacation. The time is now and if we don’t seize the moment, then we are doomed. Nigeria’s leadership is the missing link in Africa’s greatness.” Lumumba said the political elites in Nigeria are responsible for the problems in the country. “Let me say without fear of contradiction that the only thing that continues to hold Nigeria down are the political elites who in my view have to liberate themselves from the politics of ethnicity and recognize that political leadership is a position of trusteeship,” the professor said. “They ought to recognise that when they lead Nigeria, they are also leading Africa. I want to submit to us that Nigeria occupies such an important position not only in Africa but in the world. On the few occasions that Nigeria has demonstrated leadership, the neighbours have been at peace and at ease. “Not so long ago, Liberia was in a throes of the civil war and the Nigerian political leadership provided the leadership to ECOWAS. Today, we can talk about a stable or stabilizing Liberia. “When there was instability in Sierra Leone and Nigeria leaders came out and we can recognize that some sanity has been restored in Freetown. “At critical moments when the Green (Super) Eagles were soaring as they should, they were the pride of us. Whenever Nigeria has provided leadership, the African continent has always occupied her pride of place.” https://punchng.com/nigerias-leadership-deficit-missing-link-to-africas-greatness-patrick-lumumba/ http://www.ladunliadinews.com/2018/08/if-nigeria-doesnt-realize-its-giant-of.html#more

But at some point we have to start to beleive in ourselves and get the Govt to work for us all. Most times as private citizens we can play our own part as it is done elsewhere in the world. Govt cant do it all. They need our supports and belief in the Nigeria project as well. |

lastmanstandn:The lack of basic infrastructure, is that not what Buhari met on ground? Is work not currently going on in Enugu - Onitsha road, Enugu - Portharcourt? Is work not currently going on the second Niger bridge? Has light improved in certain part of the east or not? Is the Ariara market electrification not providing power to the shop owners? Even when you have all the money in the world, can you complete certain projects within three years? Not witstanding, Nigeria oil earnings has drastically reduced ( in fact about 50% of previous years), yet infrastructure work is ongoing. Thousands of poor kids who attends public schools in SE are been fed. N- Power has employed thousands of youths from SE. But remember, those who earned 2 times what the current admin is earnning could not do these things. As for promise, it is better to quote what was promised rather than opposition lies. Govt is doing its job of providing infrastructure and ease of doing business. One of it is the Yen deal signed by Buhari. Govt cannot force people to work. Those who are used to free money especially from govt contracts and rents seeking cannot see the good in this Govt. |

LuciferKristi:You are entitled to your opinion the same way I am entitled to mine. Give the reason he is doing it any meaning, the fact that he has done it and previous Govt could not come up with the idea, that is fine by so many people. You may not even have voters card, but the almighty social media has given you the power to determine who will get SE votes and who will not. With the massive crowd that attends recent APC rally in Ebonyi state may be a pointer. Same with the Anambra election where APC got thousands of vote. Like they say all politics is local. In reality APC did not need SE votes to produce the President in 2015 and certainly do not need it in 2019. Due to the bad belle type of politics that guys like you play, South South is about to remove the carpet under your feet in 2019 by the way the region is embracing APC, leaving South East alone to continue with their poltics of blackmail and hatred. |
Buhari is doing his own as the President of the country. If SE appreciates him, all well and good. If not, due to bad belle, it is also all well and good. Never the less, it will be on record that he is the first Nigerian President to come up with this initiative. |
Buhari approves agency for robotics and artificial intelligence in south-east August 05 Ogbonnaya Onu, minister of science and technology, says President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the establishment of an agency on robotics and artificial intelligence(AI) for the south-east. Onu made this known on Saturday at a grand rally of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi state. The rally which received defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was attended by the national chairman of the party, Adams Oshiomhole. Onu told the rally that in 2015, he pleaded with south-east not to put its eggs in one basket but it fell on deaf ears. He said: “In 2015 I pleaded with the zone not to put our eggs in one basket. Today I want them to compare the 16 years of PDP and relate it with just 3 years of APC. “The three years of APC is greater than the 16 years of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP); the second Niger bridge is nearing completion, the Enugu – Port-Harcourt and Enugu – Onitsha highways are in various levels of completion.” “The time has come for the South East to be in the mainstream of Nigerian politics by voting for President Buhari and APC in 2019”. Orji Uzor Kalu, former governor of Abịa state, said the new River Niger bridge, which the PDP could not construct in 16 years, has now reached 53 percent completion. He said the south-east will give the president and APC majority of its votes in 2019 in appreciation for all the projects and democracy dividends he has given the zone. https://www.thecable.ng/buhari-approves-agency-for-robotics-and-artificial-intelligence-in-south-east |
