President Trump on Tuesday announced plans to pull out of the Iran nuclear deal, saying the pact has failed to halt the country’s nuclear ambitions. Speaking in the Diplomatic Room of the White House, Trump said: “I am announcing today the United States will withdraw from the Iran nuclear deal.” He said, “The Iran deal is defective at its core.” A source said that Trump’s announcement will start a 90-day countdown to the restoration of sanctions. “At the heart of the Iran deal was a giant fiction, that a murderous regime desired only a peaceful, nuclear energy program,” Trump said Tuesday. “Today, we have definitive proof that this Iranian promise was a lie.” Once sanctions are re-imposed, the U.S. effectively would be out of the deal. It's not clear which sanctions lifted under the deal Trump plans to immediately re-impose. He has several options. A more limited move could leave Trump more room to potentially stay in the deal if other members agree to toughen it. If he follows through on a sweeping imposition of sanctions, the move threatens to topple the Iran nuclear agreement as a whole – and with it, his predecessor’s signature foreign policy achievement. “In theory, the so-called Iran deal was supposed to protect the United States and our allies from the lunacy of an Iranian nuclear bomb, a weapon that will only endanger the survival of the Iranian regime," Trump said. "In fact, the deal allowed Iran to continue enriching uranium and over time reach the brink of a nuclear breakout." During his speech, Trump called Iran “the leading state sponsor of terror.” “It exports dangerous missiles, fuels conflicts across the Middle East, and supports terrorist proxies and militias, such as Hezbollah, Hamas, the Taliban, and Al-Qaeda,” he said. The president briefed foreign and congressional leaders on his decision ahead of his announcement. And he started the day by warning former Secretary of State John Kerry not to meddle in the negotiations. “John Kerry can’t get over the fact that he had his chance and blew it! Stay away from negotiations John, you are hurting your country!” Trump tweeted early Tuesday. This was a reference to reports that Kerry was meeting with foreign officials in a bid to salvage the pact. Speaking at a summit Tuesday in Italy, Kerry did not back down, saying the Middle East is “safer with this agreement” and framing this juncture as a choice between peace and war. Trump’s announcement comes ahead of a May 12 deadline to make a decision on sanctions. It follows efforts by European allies to convince Trump to keep the deal, even with changes. But Trump reportedly was unconvinced. Since the 2016 presidential campaign, he has railed against the agreement and its Obama administration negotiators. The 2015 pact lifted most U.S. and international sanctions against the country, in exchange for Iran agreeing to restrictions on its nuclear program making it impossible to produce a bomb, along with rigorous inspections – terms generally set for 10-15 years. But Israel, Gulf Arab states and many congressional Republicans said the deal was a giveaway to Tehran that ultimately paves the path to a nuclear-armed Iran several years in the future. “Perhaps the nuclear deal’s most unforgivable flaw is that its original architects chose to stand with and empower Iran’s mullahs over the Iranian people, whose opposition to their corrupt and criminal government continues to grow,” Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., wrote in a Fox News op-ed urging Trump to abandon the pact and ratchet up sanctions. But Trump’s decision could lead to retaliation from Iran in the near-term. If the deal collapses, Iran could resume prohibited enrichment activities, while businesses and banks doing business with Iran would have to scramble to extricate themselves or run afoul of the U.S. While Trump himself was tight-lipped about his decision in the run-up to the announcement, Iranian officials also were left guessing. In Tehran, President Hassan Rouhani sought to calm nerves. "It is possible that we will face some problems for two or three months, but we will pass through this," Rouhani said. Rouhani earlier warned of “grave” consequences if Trump pulled back on the agreement. Obama foreign policy adviser Ben Rhodes, who played a key role in the deal, also tweeted that “Trump is blowing that up with no understanding of what's actually in the Deal, no plan for what comes next, and no support from our closest European allies, Russia or China.” A factor leading to Tuesday’s decision may have been Israel’s public lobbying. A week ago, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu appealed to the U.S. president by making explosive allegations that new evidence proved Tehran had lied about its nuclear program and adherence to the pact. But even Trump's secretary of state and the U.N. agency that monitors nuclear compliance have agreed that Iran, so far, has lived up to its side of the deal. Fox News’ John Roberts, Judson Berger and The Associated Press contributed to this report. |

[BREAKING]?LAUTECH students prevent UTME candidates from entering premises Students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, on Monday morning prevented candidates who were posted to the school to write the 2017 UTME from entering the premises or gain access to the examination centres in the school. Were the students said to have mobilised themselves before the candidates? arrival, blocking every entrance to the school. effectively denying the candidates entry. The students also prevented teaching and non-teaching staff of the institution from entering the school. The students said the action was taken to alert the world to the problems facing the school after the two owner states, Oyo and Osun, ignored every plea to address the problems. |
I pity Nigeria ooo, If it is economic wise, I think we made the wrong decision has China has a vision of getting the whole Africa on her side economically... WW3 |
Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State says Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, will resume academic activities on or before Feb. 1. In a statement issued by Mr Yomi Layinka, the governor’s Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy on Saturday, the governor said arrangements had been concluded to re-open the university. The statement said the decision to re-open the school was the agreement reached after a meeting with the national, zonal and state leadership of the students’ unions in his office on Jan. 6. Ajimobi also said the agreement was made during a discussion with Gov. Rauf Aregbesola, of Osun, the stakeholders and LAUTECH Vice Chancellor, Prof. Adeniyi Gbadegesin. He said the various discussions and decisions were aimed at finding a lasting solution to the debacle. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that academic activities in the university had been grounded for eight months due to the strike by the academic and non-academic staff. The academic and non-academic staff of the university had embarked on the strike action over unpaid salaries and emoluments. NAN reports that both governors and top officials from the states had, in October 2016, met in Ibadan to proffer a lasting solution to the lingering disagreement over the institution. Representatives of the two owner states had also met last Tuesday in Osogbo to agree on the way out of the crisis prior to Friday’s round of talks. The discussions had culminated into the agreement to reopen the school on or before Feb. 1 Ajimobi had on Friday met with representatives of the students unions at the Executive Council chambers of his office in Ibadan over the matter The students’ union team was led by Mr Salam Olajide, the Senate President, National Association of Nigerian Students. The statement said the delegation sought audience with the governor to plead with him to facilitate the urgent reopening of the university. “The governor thanks the students’ delegation for their concerns and explained that the two owner states regret the huge loss of valuable time to all stakeholders. “The regret is more particular about the students, whose academic calendar has been significantly disrupted by the prolonged closure,’’ it said. The governor hinged the problem on the constraints currently experienced on account of the debilitating effects of the recession on the capacities of the two governor’s to meet the demands of the striking workers. “We regret the fact that in spite of all efforts at persuading the striking workers to resume, they refused to shift ground,’’ the statement quoted the governor as saying. He, however, announced that the schools would be re-opened on or before Feb. 1 going by the level of his discussions with Aregbesola. “With today’s pronouncement, it is hoped that stakeholders, including the management, staff and students of LAUTECH, will begin to put adequate machinery in place preparatory to full resumption. In a separate development, Ajimobi has ordered the immediate re-opening of the five secondary schools shut in the wake of students’ arson attack on some schools in the state. NAN reports that the secondary school students in the state had protested the state government’s no automatic promotion in schools’ policy, destroying some infrastructures in some schools. Amomg the affected schools are Isale Oyo Community High School, Oyo; Anglican Methodist Secondary School, Oyo; Oba Adeyemi High School, Oyo; Ojoo High School, Ibadan and Community Secondary School, Iyana Idi- Ose, Ibadan. Ajimobi said he took the decision in deference to pleas by stakeholders and respected members of the society that the schools should be re-opened.(NAN) http://thenationonlineng.net/lautech-reopens-february-1-ajimobi/ |

Oftentimes, we find ourselves in situations that are difficult and we conclude most times in doing things that have grave consequence though at times very funny. There are few but salient questions I want to raise in with us-: • Have you had a wonderful and a glorious experience sometimes back and now you feel empty when the memory comes? • Are you feeling that something is missing in your life? • Have you mismanaged what you ought to effectively manage and now sees yourself were you ought not to be? While I leave you to ponder on these questions, don’t spend much time as these are just straight forward questions. I met a young influential man few years ago in a strange land but in a twinkling of an eye, he squandered all he had, why? Because his appetite for food and fashion was tampered with. You will agree with me that it is very difficult for a man of affluence and influence to suddenly lose all of these (great wealth and possessions), he’ll rather want to improve on it but for this young and energetic man, he could not maintain this status because he has been overpowered with riotous life. The bible says “And when he had spent all”. No man in the land was willing to hire him for any kind of paid work, even the hirelings could not see any productiveness in him. Not until when he offered himself for free service, nobody was going to employ him and even with that, he had to scramble with the pigs for food, but this was never the desire of his father. Friends, have you got to that junction in life? before, you were so full with life from God but now the only thing you are filled with is emptiness? Sometimes ago, you don’t spend hours waiting on God before you hear Him expressly, but now week upon weeks you are still waiting to hear from God on a very small issue that you solve in a matter of minutes before, could it be that before, sickness of any type don’t come near you but for sometimes now you have been having fellowship with different types of sickness? In those days when you were still with your father (God) you go up and down boasting about this FAITH but now, you dare not open your mouth because your testimony has been soiled with riotous living. A riotous life; a life that makes you get spent (you spend all you have and you spend your life also). The word you speak talks only about you and not the father that gave you the life you are living, the presence of God has now been fully substituted to that of yourself. How I wish that you will come to understand quickly that you are being spent and if a caution is not thrown into the air, you will become totally spent. Friend, going to be slave will not also help issues here because the sustenance of the pigs is also what this “dear son” is living on. When a man spends all, nothing is left again, when a man had squandered all, he will ever be complaining about everything, at this point, suffering will suffice for enjoyment, but did you know something? This young man came to his senses and he made a final U-turn to the Original and the eternal source of life. How far are you into this riotous life my friend? How deep are you in this lifestyle? The wonderful news is that when this young boy was busy lamenting to his father on how he had lived his life, the only thing his father was waiting to do is to restore him and lo he was restored. God is willing to do the same to as many that are willing to come back to Him and as many that are willing to start a journey with our Lord. Don’t forget this that His longsuffering towards us all is that no man will perish. https://delejumi..com.ng/2016/11/and-when-he-had-spent-all.html |
Thank God for the ministry and assignment God gave unto each and everyone, yes, it is widely believed and the same is true that once we identify with Christ first in His death and then in His resurrection there is a part which we must fulfilled as an individual in the work of God. But there are few things we need to check together, what is the priority in our service unto God, is it the service or the God we are representing? In whatsoever capacity of our service, how are we doing as individual? It is not a lie that God indeed called you and me to serve Him as we can see in the calling of Saul by his father. “And Kish said to Saul his son, Take now one of the servants with thee, and arise, go seek the asses.” (1 Sam 9:3 KJV) Because God was willing to bring men to Him and now that we are His own, sends us all to go after the lost asses. But several of us now in the quest of seeking the lost asses but unfortunately, we ourselves are now lost and the Father is now perturbed about our own lives. Before, I don’t know that it is possible to work for God and yet be guilty, I thought because it is God that calls so he will have to defend His call, yes, He does defend His call upon a life but we have the tendency of severing ourselves from the one who calls. This is what happened to Samson and several others both in the bible and in our days, we are now carried away with the work and we had lost touch with the caller, what is driving us now is the work and not the one who calls, I want us all to check our lives and reflect, the problem with the sons of the prophet that their axe head fell into the river is that when one of them was using it he did not check the state of the axe at every strike and when it finally fell he said “Alas, master! for it was borrowed.” Saul was very wary of this and he told his servant: “And when they were come to the land of Zuph, Saul said to his servant that was with him, Come, and let us return; lest my father leave caring for the asses, and take thought for us.” (1 Sam 9:5 KJV) Friends, we will save ourselves from a later cry of “Alas, master! for it was borrowed.” In life if we can examine ourselves, Paul said “Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it. Test and prove yourselves [m not Christ].” (2 Cor 13:5 AMP) God Bless Our Heart. http://delejumi..com.ng/2016/11/why-worry-for-ass-when-father-is.html |
Isaiah 42 paints a graphic picture of the lost. They're like people who are incarcerated in spiritual jails all over the world - kidnapped by the devil with no one to say, "Give them back!" But we have a message for the lost. It's called the Good News! There was Someone who fought for their cause. He was the only perfectly sinless man who could do it. His name is Jesus Christ. Their prison doors have swung open by the power of the cross. The lost must hear, "Come out! Your pardon was purchased once and for all!" I want to fully understand the wrath God poured out on His Son. Jesus paid the price so I don't have to! I thank God for the cross and the glorious blood of Jesus Christ. I want to understand the glory of my elder brother and Lord becoming my substitute and dying in my place. What is our part in all of this? Simply believe. Because of the finished work of the cross, Jesus has empowered me to live in righteousness. Through His blood, His death, and by the power of His resurrection I'm justified. Glory to God! That's where the praise begins and leads to worship! The more I understand the power of the cross, the more I live day to day in the staggering, sanctifying reality of it. Glory in the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ! This is the way we sow to the Spirit and reap an eternal harvest in heaven and in this life. We have eternity before us. Look, believe, and live in His resurrection life! http://delejumi..com.ng/2016/10/a-ransom-for-all-alexander-noel.html |
