PoliticsRe: What Manner Of An Opposition Party Is APC? by deletrue: 1:26pm On Sep 02, 2014
obailala: @Op,
To correct an erroneous assumption which you made, it is ONLY in Nigeria or maybe in Africa and other third world shaky democracies that an opposition party would come out and applaud the ruling party. I suppose your model of an opposition is what we have in Labour Party and APGA or in the 2007 and 2011 elections where 30 different political parties would endorse the incumbent president as their candidate?

You cannot be blamed because you were born in a country where all your life, you have been ruled by autocratic dictators and even when we transited to 'civilian' rule, we still practised an autocratic single party system up till last year when the APC was formed. Therefore, it doesn't come as a surprise that you and most Nigerians who are 'probably' sympathetic to GEJ/PDP and who are already used to autocracy, are confused at the concept of an opposition party being a pain in the butt of the ruling party.

Just like OseghaleEbosele rightly mentioned on this thread, go and study the situation in USA (Democratic Party vs Republican Party), UK and Australia(Labour Party vs Conservative Party), France (Socialist Party vs Union for a Popular Movement), Germany (Social Democratic. Party vs Christian Democratic Union). In the UK today, for every major decision made by the prime minister, an open debate would be held in the house of parliament between the prime minister Vs. the head of the opposition party; You need to understand that that is the beauty of democracy. The kind of opposition we have in Nigeria today is even a child's play because no matter how the APC screams and criticises, the ruling party still autocratically goes ahead to do whatever it likes...

...and just before I close this, @Op, can you please give an example of one of the 'good' policies of GEJ which was opposed by APC?
You no dey reason? As a Nigerian, if I coninue to tell people that I and I alone is born to rule, what does that mean to you. If I make a promise that there will be no peace in this country and a minute after, there comes Boko haram killing, burning, what does that tell you. When four governors from one region left one party and decamp to another, especially when it is thier last tenure, tell us the meaning or tell us, since independece, when did four governors decamped because the party they left is damn bad.
When your chairman promised parallel government openly, tell us if there is any other anti-policy that is worse than that? When your Islam apc members told us openly that Nigeria must be an islamic nation by force by fire, is that not a wicked policy?
If you are not convinced, I will be back shortly.

to the topic

so OP is trying to tell us now that all the policies of this administration has been favourable to all?

GEJ is trying but there are too many problems for the opposition to keep quiet

All in all, if your place both parties side by side, APC is not doing badly and i support them come 2015

And lastly, GEJ be using TAN to campaign about thereby breaking electoral laws, that is the hallmark of the PDP. they steal, break laws and still get away with it, and still you expect the opposition to keep quiet? HABA!!!
I think you say you dey battle abi read dictionary?
PoliticsRe: What Manner Of An Opposition Party Is APC? by deletrue: 12:00pm On Sep 02, 2014
maestroferddi: You are getting it twisted. If you go back to the essay you would see where it was stated that opposition should be the watchdog of government.

Nobody is averse to opposition:all we are asking is that the opposition should conduct itself in such a manner that it doesn't become a nuisance and sabotage the common good.

Every Nigerian is not a politician. The moment a party gets the national/state mandate to lead, we expect that such party should be allowed to delivered the dividends of democracy.

In a situation where the opposition chooses to create unnecessary bottlenecks that stifle national growth, it then becomes completely objectionable.

Opposition should not translate to an outright/wholesale demonisation of the ruling party.

That is the point that is being made.
Nice one. When the real and normal people speaks, no doubt happyness is every where. Thanls for your through explaination.

OseghaleEbosele: From the article above it is obvious that the writer doesn't know anything abuit politics, whether in Nigeria or in other parts of the world. I suggest he should study the situation in USA (Democratic Party vs Republican Party), UK and Australia(Labour Party vs Conservative Party), France (Socialist Party vs Union for a Popular Movement), Germany (Social Democratic. Party vs Christian Democratic Union) etc
This is where you people will remain the carriers of the most irrelivant brains. The man you are responding to has taken time to explain how it should be, you are simply refering us to USA, one thing do one thing. If you do not want to remain a typical apc man, what prevents you from atleast also offering some basic ways your members want politics played.
APC members are truely carrying with them DRY BRAINS. Just before the Osun elections, the apc chairman John Oyegun told us that apc will form parallel government if it is not voted. Yesterday here, in AIT, Oyegun, as old as he is, described Jona and the government as clueless etc. As at that age, what do you make of these set of Nigerians? Also consider out side his age, he is occupying the chairmanship position and talks like tanker drivers. He talks what a KG child cannot.
If I may ask, what has come over you people that you longer take to advice and continue to indulge in pure propaganda only? Tell us how long this will help you people.
It is painful, I mean, it pains me to the highest heavens but am praying that one day, we will grow to where we will really come across what is actually call an opposition where every normal Nigerians will be happy of because the real opposition party will automatically kill tribal politics, religion politics, just name the benefits.. Tufiakwa.

DaWorshiper: Who is Lamido?
He is just one of those hopeless and highly frustrated Obasanjo followers. These are the set of Nigerians who were offerred Golden opportunity by God but because of their useless lineage coupled with thier continue patronage of the devilish ways, has remained useless in thier daily activities and further see the excellent performace of the current administration as an open revelation of their emptyness during their time.
Having failed in all the attempts to down turn Jona's government, by ways of fabricating all lies ranging from telling the whole world that Jona is training sharp shooters, etc has now changed to engaging the likes of Lamido, Amaechi etc. to openly go against Jona. May Nigerians never again, from now on, come across these set of individuals, amen. Tufiakwa.

PoliticsRe: Gov. Amaechi Slams DSP Alamieyeseigha by deletrue: 11:59am On Sep 01, 2014
gbadexy: Ameachi get mouth! Even his people in Apc will be wary what is discussed in his presence.
I wonder why he had to announce that alams complained of the president's inability to control his wife.
As it stands, he has sowed distrust between the jonathan family and alams.
That's a sort of observation men make amongst themselves if they notice their friend is being controlled by his wife. They can't tell him to his face but just wonder. I haven't seen where a man will now go out to announce that someone told him so about another man!
I don't even regard someone like alams. He has no significant but I just feel a man should still exercise some sort of control on how he let's loose of his mouth.
Yes indeed. When a man, real men speaks, it gladens my inner mind. And I quote 'a man should still exercise some sort of control on how he lets loose of his mouth'. These are words from the real men. Thank you.
How I wished there are some sort of ex-raying intruments to actually test majority of apc politicians as primaries before elections proper! This madness and senselessness that has befalling apc would have been reduced.
PoliticsRe: Gov. Amaechi Slams DSP Alamieyeseigha by deletrue: 9:29am On Sep 01, 2014
barcanista: bia, what has south east got to do here? Did you read that Amaechi or Alams involve the Igbos in this matter? Is Amaechi an Igbo man?(He has several times denounced igbo), is Alams an igbo man? Is Jonathan an Igbo man? Oga every oil well in SS belongs to SS and not SS/SE. We are not operating a joint venture. You are ON YOUR OWN....we are on our own.

Thanks for your understanding
Bros. You no understand. Ibos are the best ethnic group that has help to keep this country together. The trouble this north east hausas are causing jona would have divided this country if not that the Ibos who are always there for Jona. Jona's brothers would have taken it head on because of these frustrations the north is giving to Jona due to their only me go rule concept.
I think he made a mistake by making mention of Okorocha who has never insulted Jona for once. Even though Okorochas is an apc man. You can understand the reasons why I will continue to thank and praise the Ibos. He is standing out. Very far from the normal violent apc group. Thanks.

barcanista: He told Governor Amaechi that he cannot understand why
Mr. President cannot rein in, control or manage his wife. But
for him to now go to the press to say something else is indeed
most cowardly and timid of him.”

Now this is epic!!!! Alamasiegha should respect himself and not lose the little respect I have for him(his resource control stance an performance in Bayelsa state-though average).what makes him think that Jonathan is an emperor that everyone should bow to? Jonathan is an embarrassment to leadership though he's a good man(which is not enough). Amaechi and the entire people of Rivers and Bayelsa States have inalienable right to association and opinion. He can't force everyone to follow a zombielike attitude because Jonathan is the President.

God bless Rivers State
God bless Bayelsa State
God bless SS region
God bless APC
God Bless Nigeria
You started well some how and deviated for the simple fact that you are directly under the voilent influence of apc.
How I wished I am exchanging posts with a normal individual. Respect cannot be found in apc folks. Short man El-rufai, Amaechi just name them are all members of that enclave called apc and you inclusive.
Jonathan is a far senior to Amaech and also the president, therefore deserves some respect. If you are normal, has Jonathan ever open his mouth and abussed Amaech once? Tell me Mr. Apc.
PoliticsRe: Gov. Amaechi Slams DSP Alamieyeseigha by deletrue: 8:44am On Sep 01, 2014
Honestly, I like these two people, Amaechi and his press secretary. Their boldness is like a goat challenging a VERY SICK lion whereas it is clear that goat cannot and never withstanding lion no matter critical the sickness is. . Amaechi heads a powerful and deadly cult group across Nigeria and beyond but am sure he cannot do anything than others who had faced the president and suffer at the end.. He is just maintaining the violent culture of apc like Chief Oyegun who, was a gentle man, but became different after joining apc.
To be sincere, apc will never win rivers. It will be somehow simple for pdp to take Lagos than apc taking rivers, in that apc's atrocities against Nigerians are enormous, besides, lagos contains very many other tribes not just yorubas and hausas.
Any way since, no body knows tomorrow, let us stop this here first and see how it goes.

donphilopus: This' what I wanna hear from you. Kwankwaso is good though, but APC would never like to minus the Anti-corruption Crusader and go for Kwankwaso. He still needs to be monitored before he's considered for any position. If the Kano State HoA ain't fully in support of their boss, then he should also know that most Northern States wouldn't support him since Buhari is there.

I enjoin them all to do things in an orderly way because the National Convention is approaching. We don't want a consensus candidate; they should all go to the field. Because we wouldn't want PDP to cry more than the bereaved!
You apc members always like to take Panadol for another man's sickness. I expect you to pray so that your party will be able to see the light of the day. A party that consist of violent and blood shockers. Your party cannot do any thing without fighting, killing one another. Only spraying the darkest side of live.
The other day before Osun election, Chief Oyegun who was a simple and well organised Nigerians, after joining this party, apc, told Nigerians that they, apc will form parallel government should apc fails. Tufiakwa.

Hahaahah imagine the crooks PDP is presenting. The good thing is that the aggrieved members will vote against PDp in the general election. Beside, should Jonathan lose the Primiries of PDP then it wl be a verrrrrrrry easy ride for Gen Muhammadu Buhari. PoliticsRe: Tom Ikimi Resigns From APC by deletrue: 4:20pm On Aug 26, 2014
ratiken: Why?

As much I am in full support of GEJ till 2019, I am becoming increasingly concerned about the opposition post 2015.

We cannot afford to go back to a one-party system. APC needs to hold forth at least for the sake of Nigeria and not their pockets. They should quit propaganda and build a strong structure towards 2019. They stand a good chance after 2019 and they have 4.5 years to prove they are the change. They should put the self acclaimed kingmakers within them in check to build a robust non-janjaweedian system.

We need APC to keep PDP in check without the negative politicking and propaganda. They should not allow their personal greed override their national essence.

This is coming from a core Pro-GEJ and a Nigerian dream believer.
May the Almighty God bless you. I am a fan of GEJ and few governors but not the entire PDP. For some special reasons I pray that this foolish apc should stop this their deviish ways like sponsoring of boko haram, stop promoting very powerful propagandas capable of destroying this country, stop promoting very strong hate, hate, hate him and hate GEJ politics and play real and highly reasonable and matured politics etc. to allow for strong and healthy politics. Why? Because we need competition. Just visit some pdp states like Delta etc, what you find is ONLY propaganda, 20% completed projects, abandoned projects etc. How on earth can these states ever enjoy devidents of democracy since these governors will only handover to others who will only and continue to cover for them. Please, apc should try to run a good system. Reasonable Nigerians know the importance of strong opposition.

You guys should quit trying to put down these schools, quality speaks for itself. The fact not all kids of such schools eventually go on to succeed, doesn't mean most wont succeed. A school can only equip you with the necessary tools, what you make of those tools determines where you end up.
