^^The excuses remain flimsy- same one they've been making for decades. Ongoing maintenance? For how long?
Hydro electric power can be built on a small scale to serve communities with capacity ranging from 10MW-30MW and countries like the U.S, Japan, Canada and China use this type of power generation.
What is stopping the Government from building such, or opening up the sector for private firms to do so? Must the citizens always rely on the epileptic national grid supply from the dams, or unannounced maintenance works at gas plants?
I'm waiting to see a shift towards more renewable energy sources-asides just hydro Power. Sources like wind, tides and sunlight (Solar).
Renewable energy provides 18 percent of total electricity generation worldwide. And more countries are spending more money on renewable energy. |

scopusng: Lagos -Mr Hussein Labo, Managing Director of Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), says the low power generation across the country is due to the ongoing maintenance works at Utorogun Gas Plant in Delta State.
Labo said in Lagos, yesterday, that this has led to further drop in power generation and had affected electricity supply.
Mr. Mike Uzoigwe, Chief Executive of Egbin Thermal Station, said yesterday that power generation from the plant had dropped from 1,100 to 500 megawatts due to insufficient gas to power the turbines.
“We have not received gas supply from the Nigeria Gas Company (NGC) and the water level is low.”

I sidon dey look. For those that voted GEJ, pls don't complain. Now which one is it. -Is the power outage due to maintenance, or low gas supplies, or low water levels? PCHN has got to be the most inept company in the world. It's always one excuse after another-and watch the speed with which they'll send bills to their customers. It's about time licenses are given out to private energy firms for power distribution. And isn't it about time they start looking at other alternative energy sources? |

Seanpoe: @deli.cious Are u seriously justifying her taxing me based on where i spent the night? On top say na company pay for the hotel ooooo. stagger: It is good you mentioned that you were staying at Sheraton, because it enabled the real motive for her wanting to follow you to come out into the open, just the way typical Abuja girls are.
Greedy and money-conscious! And to think we have some girls here who were justifying such behaviour. Deep Soul:
I live in Abuja. And I'm better than a girl who lives in Abeokuta. Go figure.
All these people complaining, you get what you want. Some of the best females I know (Morals, good character and every good thing) live in Abuja. So where did their husbands/boyfriends find them??
Unfortunately, I cannot read through 9 pages of this post, but I get the gist. All these loose men with zero morals complaining like they are any better! Abeg jare, make we see road!
P.S: I do acknowledge that the "Abuja-girl Syndrome" does exist. Chikena! |

And what are the moderators doing about all the animosity and tribalism flying around the thread? Can't you all just pipe down and keep silent for once in your lives, why do you feel the need to insult or feel better than other people based on their religion, or ethnicity?
You all should be worried about unemployment, growing food prices, and how to make this country a better place to live-but here you are fighting over non issues.
Today it will be Nigeria vs Ghana. Tomorrow Yoruba vs Igbo. Another day Igbo vs Hausa, and the following day North vs South.
It's getting really sickening. |
