As the battle for who takes over from Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State intensifies, several events have been unfolding. One of such event is the activities of Ebubeagu Security Outfit in Ebonyi State.

Recall that about a month ago, Governor Umahi inaugurated Ebubeagu in the state, this was after several months they have been operating in the state without any formal inauguration.

The opposition party - the PDP and indeed majority of Ebonyians have come with heavy criticisms about the operations of the security outfit. Many believed the so-called Security outfit was created as official political thugs to hunt the opposition party members and dissents.

Several infractions, including extra-judicial killingd of Innocent Citizens by the Ebubeagu have been reported. Recently, the group kidnapped the PDP Publicity Secretary - Nwoba Chika Nwoba whick took the intervention of the Anti-Kidnap Squad of the Nigeria Police to void their next attempt. Unfortunately, Chika was remanded by the Police instead of arresting his abductors and he was later charged to court by state government for flimzy reasons under the guise of unknown Cybercrime laws of the State. Chika is still in the custody of the Nigeria Police even with his failing health condition.

Cases of the Ebubeagu outfit extorting money from Tri-cycle drivers within the city metropolis abounds and it was reported recently that the Tricyle Drivers are planning an open protest against the extortion from the group.

A visitor to the state lamented how he noticed that Ebubeagu Men have officially taken over Checkpoints and mount roadblocks across the state. He wondered how untrained trigger -happy young boys could be handed over such Assaulted rifles and scattered all over the state. A situation he referred to as 'time bomb' waiting to explode.

Today, Sunday 23rd January 2022, One Nnaogo Akpoke Anyim was allagedly reported to have been shot dead by Ebubeagu men. Nnaogo hails from Akaeze Community, in Ivo LGA, same local government Area with HE Senator Anyim Pius Anyim.

This ugly situation has led to a huge demonstration across the LGA by indigenes, calling for End of Ebubeagu in the state. Both old and young are currently on the street protesting, as at the time of reporting this.

It's reasonable to note that Only Ebonyi State has Ebubeagu Security Outfit even when it was agreed that it should be the Local Security outfit for the South East region and should operate to guard the forest against criminals. One wonders why Ebonyi State hurriedly set up their outfit and instead of deploying the to guard forests, they were deployed to harass innocent citizens and opposition.

The issue of Insecurity and high level infractions by men of Ebubeagu in Ebonyi State should attract the attention of the global Community especially as the nation go into election soon. The police, DSS, NSA, NIA and other security agencies should checkmate the proliferation of arms in Ebonyi through illegal security groups.

The recent award of political leadership 2020, conferred on the former president of the Senate, Anyim Pius Anyim by the Zik leadership prize, has continued to elicit reactions from across the nation. The revered Emire of Kano, Dr Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, while presenting the award to Anyim described him as one of the hopes for future political leadership in the Nigeria. Anyim who became the President of the Senate at the age of 39,the Emire said, should live long so that the nation will continue to tap from his experiences. To be the one to present the Zik leadership award to Anyim, the Emire said, he considers it a "privilege and honour". This is according to him, "Anyim is somebody so many people have high respect and high regard for and he remains one of our future hopes". I equally hold him in high regards too, he stated.

The Zik leadership Award is an annual leadership event recognising those who have distinguished themselves in the service of the nation. This year's award, held on November 7, had other recipients like the governor of Lagos state, Sanwolu, the governor of Nasarawa state, Engr. A. A Sule among others. Speaking on behalf of the awardees, Anyim said that the award which he described as a recognition of his distinguished services is rather a call for more services. The youth wing of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has hailed former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim over his declaration of interest for the 2023 presidential election.

Anyim, a former Senate President, is the only politician from the South-East who has announced interest to seek the office of the President in 2023.
In a statement issued on Wednesday by the President-General of the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, OYC, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, he said Anyim had demonstrated courage and clear political vision.
While noting that power is not given but taken, Okwu said, “we are concerned that several Igbo politicians are still sitting on the fence waiting for someone to hand them over the seat of the President.

“Such a dream is dead on arrival and that is why we commend the former SGF, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim for having the courage to step out when others are still peeping through their holes.

They noted that the fear of a possible collapse of the entity called Nigeria prompted the movement of people that cut across all segments of the country, from Sokoto to Ebonyi, from Lagos to Bayelsa to come together under one umbrella called Team New Nigeria to spread the message of peace and love to the people. Shittu stated that the movement is not about a political party or about a particular politician but about the need for excellent leadership that will usher peace and love among Nigerians. Responding Anyim told his audience that his readiness for office of the president of Nigeria is premised on divine guidance. According to him, this is not the first time that destiny will be beckoning on him for a rescue mission for Nigeria. He recalled that similar circumstances had thrown him up to assume the leadership of the National Assembly. Before his ascension to the office of the President of the Senate during President Olusegun Obasanjo regime, there was what was being described then as "banana peel" on the floor of the National Assembly, in which everyone who assumes leadership of the Senate falls by the way side within a twinkle. But according to him, God did not only bring him up to lead the Senate and fall like his predecessors but He also stabilised his tenure and the subsequent tenures of the leadership of the National Assembly after him. Tomorrow, the 16th of October, 2021 is a day of decision making. It's a day when all who really believe in the spirit of PDP will determine its fate in Ebonyi state. It's a day to know the real and fake members of our great party in Ebonyi. It is a day when we shall separate those who truly refused to move with Dave Umahi to the APC from impostors/moles, who stayed behind in PDP to help Umahi destroy our party, the PDP in Ebonyi state.

It's a day to decide WHETHER WE HAND PDP BACK into the hands of our arch enemy, governor Umahi, or RECLAIM ITS SOUL for the people of Ebonyi State.

We cannot forget in a hurry the several threats and schemes of governor David Umahi to control both his own APC and our own PDP since his defection in November 2020.

The seizing of our own party Secretariat till date, is one confirmation of the realization of his threats to stifle PDP in Ebonyi.

Fellow members of our great party, we have a great deal of suspicion and we wish to inform you that the same Governor DAVID UMAHI has planted a mole right inside our great party and secretly Fielding same for State Chairmanship in the Congress coming tomorrow. Our independent but comprehensive investigation revealed that the mole is his own brother, from the same UBURU community and he wants us to elect him as the state chairman of our great party.

UBURU again? TUFIAKWA!!!

That brother of his being imposed on the PDP is SILAS ONU. This is to make it easier for him to finally kill and bury the PDP in Ebonyi state before 2023. A recent proof of the alliance between the governor David Umahi and his brother, Silas to destroy PDP was demonstrated during the last PDP Local government Congress in Ebonyi.

Governor David Umahi who has not allowed PDP to use its own Secretariat, granted and approved for his brother, Silas Onu, the use of the Ohaozara local government headquarters facilities to conduct his parallel local government Congress. And only a few renegades like him from the only four wards in Uburu were with him at that government secretariat. The rest of the 13 wards in Ohaozara converged at Okposi, the accredited venue of the Congress for the exercise.
Do we still have any iota of doubt about the unholy alliance between the two enemies of PDP.

I know many of you will be surprised by this shocking assertion given Silas’ “harsh words and frontal attacks” on both governor Umahi and the APC since his assumption of office as the State Caretaker Publicity of our party late 2020.

But we wish to inform you that it's all part of the GAME PLANS But it is true, after all who would have ever imagined that FEMI FANI KAYODE (FFK) was indeed a mole in the PDP given his antecedents as the Chief “attacker and destroyer” of PMB and the APC until he was sighted at Presidential Villa being received into the APC by Buhari himself!

Truth be told, many party faithfuls across the state may even find it VERY DIFFICULT TO ACCEPT THAT AN UBURU-MAN (EVEN IF HE IS AN ANGEL)

IS THE RIGHT PERSON TO LEAD PDP INTO A CHALLENGE AGAINST DAVE UMAHI his own brother. But in the case of Silas Onu, his intentions are patently evil and his plans for the future of the party in the state, destructive.

We have records of several clandestine moves and nocturnal meetings held at Enugu between Governor David Umahi’s Aides and his surrogate, Silas Onu; perfecting strategies to actualise their evil plans. We have a good degree of suspicion too that the same governor had also released huge amounts of money to buy delegates in order to install his candidate, SILAS ONU.

THEIR STRATEGIES

(1) They held a meeting somewhere behind Ezza Road, Abakaliki last night (14/10/2023) towards this plot.

They agreed to start circulating a divisive story that some leaders from the South are bent on imposing a Chairman on the party.

This is an emotional blackmail designed to infuriate and deceive delegates, especially from the Abakaliki bloc, into joining their evil machinations, without knowing that they are actually implementing a Dave Umahi agenda.

Among their agenda is

TRUNCATION OF THE ZONING AGREEMENT THAT HAS CEDED GOVERNORSHIP TO THE ABAKALIKI BLOC IN 2023.

They also agreed to consistently blame the same leaders of the Southern zone by telling lies with their names for zoning the Governorship slot to the Abakaliki bloc.

But their real INTENTION IS TO ENTHRONE SILAS ONU AND USE HIM TO MAKE A CERTAIN MONEY BAG FROM THE SOUTH THE CANDIDATE OF THE PDP IN 2023

.Already someone among them from Afikpo North is going around campaigning for 2023 governorship ticket under PDP. The idea is to sufficiently deceive the people and present PDP as a divisive Party in Ebonyi.

By so doing, and APC picking a candidate from the Abakaliki bloc, they would create the wrong impression in the mind of our Abakaliki brothers that PDP is not a party to trust.

With such wicked plans, they would have helped Umahi achieve his desire of killing PDP in the state. That is their agreement with him.

Already that “moneybag” has been making every effort to confuse the system with various “philanthropic designs” spread across the state without revealing that most of that money allegedly “flows from sources far from its it's real sources ”

As men of sparkling integrity, the leaders of the PDP in Ebonyi South continue to INSIST ON KEEPING TO THE ZONING AGREEMENT This is what has rattled them and the RENEGADE GROUP now resorted to blackmail and name calling of the genuine leaders of PDP from the South.

Accordingly, tomorrow is a day to decide whether to go back to EGYPT OR CONTINUE OUR JOURNEY TO THE PROMISED LAND.

The choice is our own to make and tomorrow is the D-DAY

The bulk of that decision making rests squarely on the shoulders of the leaders and delegates from the Abakaliki Bloc.

For the leaders and majority of the delegates from Ebonyi South the decision is already made and their commitment is to;

RECLAIM OUR PARTY FROM DAVE UMAHI AND PROTECT THE ZONING ALREADY AGREED TO BY OUR PARTY.

Godfrey who decided to remain with the People's Democratic Party (PDP) after the Defection of the Ebonyi State Governor to the APC has remained very vocal in criticising numerous bad Ebonyi State Govt's policies.

Earlier on Thursday, Godfrey alerted his numerous Fans that he received a threat call through an Aide to Governor Umahi who insisted that he would be severely be dealt with if he do not desist from criticising the State Government.

0802 692 3547: This is a warning and a threat, if You don’t leave Governor Umahi and his Younger brother alone, I will come after You and Your family, plus other rubbish he vomited.
The most painful one is that the caller authoritatively claimed that the Governor made me who I am today.

Made me how? I have no house that can be traced to the Governor, I have no car not even a tyre given to me by the Governor, the Governor has never given me cash directly or by proxy in million. So how did he make me? Everything I got is from God, Grace and personal effort and why will someone give the glory of God to a mere mortal. Only me and some of us here knows the politicians in Ebonyi that have really aided

I thanked the Governor when I couldn’t no longer work with him which is the civil thing to do and I still love him because the man loves me as a person but not in gift

I have no option than to link this call to a WhatsApp massage the Governor’s immediate Younger brother sent to me two days a go and subsequently blocked my line. Which I have shared with my friends and family members. For record purpose I used my alternative line and replied that his joke called Massage.

Later in the afternoon of Thursday, a member of the group that houses Governor's Aides shared Screenshots of discussions that went on in their group wherein many suggested ways to deal with Mr Godfrey.

It was also reported that the Ebonyi State APC Publicity Secretary by name Ogbuatu Simbad sent threat messages to Mr Godfrey warning him to take the threat seriously or he will stand in for it.

Few minutes ago, PoliticoNigerian gathered from a reliable source within the Presidency that the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), Ibrahim Magic has been suspended by the Presidency.

This suspension came barely 24hours he was summoned by the Presidential Panel.

First Quarter 2020 financial reports in the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy from the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget, and National Planning shows that Nigeria spent a total sum of ₦943.12 billion in debt servicing and retained revenue for the same period was only ₦950.56 billion. This means that Nigeria’s debt to revenue ratio is now 99%.

If we do not take measures to curb this ugly unceasing borrowing by the executive, we may be consumed by Debts.

COVID-19: OMNI FOUNDATION PROVIDES PALLIATIVE PACKAGES TO THE POOR AND VULNERABLE IN UGWULANGWU, EBONYI STATE.

Whatever we do will be insignificant, but it is very important that we still do it and that's why everyone should have one thing to give, irrespective of how insignificant.

It's on this Humanitarian notes that OMNI FOUNDATION, a Non-Governmental Organization yielded once more to the plights of the poor and vulnerable hugely affected by the global Pandemic and provided Bags of rice(25kg) and Cash to help them cope with the current difficult times.

On Sunday, 12th April,2020, at Amaogudu Town Hall, in Amaogudu, Uhuotaru, Ugwulangwu in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Widows, less Privileged and the vulnerable persons across the Amaogudu clan gathered and 25Kg bags of rice and a reasonable sum (in Cash) were distributed to each of them as assistance from the Foundation to help them cushion the untold hardship brought on earth by the Covid-19 Pandemic.

Speaking at the Occasion, the Executive Director of the Foundation - Dr David Ogbonna, who was represented by Chief Frank Ivoh Agueze, encouraged the beneficiaries not to give in to dispair by their conditions but rather trust God and pray that He blesses their benefactors to enable them keep up their good works. He admonished them that those who are a little more fit should think of engaging in any petty business no matter how small after the Pandemic to better ensure their survival and assured them that the Foundation will also partner with such individuals to ensure their proper kick-starting.

He also enjoined other illustrious Sons and Daughters of the Community in particular and Nigeria at large to lend helping hands to the deprived and downtrodden as the world battles to pass through this difficult phase of living.

"We may not solve all the problems, but we can solve one of the problems and in so doing, most of the problems will be solved", he added.

It should be recalled that this is not the first time the Foundation has come to the rescue of the less-privileged and also have been providing educational supports to many Indigenes of Ugwulangwu Community, from Secondary schools to Higher Institutions and post-graduate education.

The foundation has also embarked on N500,000 cash Award to any Indigene of Ugwulangwu who finishes with First Class Honours from any tertiary Institution in Nigeria. Some students who have distinguished themselves in this regard have benefitted from their Award and many more will benefit from it.

The Ugwulangwu Town Union President, Elder Nweke Onyekachi, and the Amaogudu Clan Chairman - Mr Nwabekee, both appreciated the efforts of the Foundation.

Elder Nweke said he's very proud of the continual efforts of the CEO/Chairman of the Foundation - Mr Nwigwe Chibueze Uzo, towards Community development, describing him as a Worthy Son of the Community.

Mr Nwabekee said that each time he remembers that the CEO of Omni Foundation is an illustrious Son of the Amaogudu Clan, his face and countenance usually beams with happiness. He noted that Mr Nwigwe, through his Foundation has provided Scholarships in Secondary Schools to many Sons and Daughters of the Clan and prayed that God continue to bless him and the executives of his Foundation.

Other recognized personalities present at the Occasion were the Amaogudu Clan Women Leader, and some Community Chiefs.

The Omni Foundation utilizes this medium to appreciates everyone instrumental to the execution of this project and thanks the beneficiaries for their heart-warming, sincere prayers.

The foundation encouraged all Nigerians to keep faith with each other and support each other, and appropriate authorities as we both battle to return to normal activities. Those our Brothers and Sisters who's means of livelihood have been truncated by the Lockdown order, despite how difficult it is, should be encouraged to hang on knowing that life prevails over wealth and that once there's life, hope prospers. We shall soon get over this, together!

I also know some Beneficiaries of 5K Stipend from South West

Yesterday, my friend and I took a long drive around five remote villages in different places in Abuja, FCT. We visited villages in Dutse Alhaji, Lugbe, Kuje, Gwagwalada and Gudu.

My motive was to find out if truly some poor Nigerians benefited from the N20,000 Federal Government has announced to have been distributed to over 2.6million Nigerians.

We found out:
1. Some poor Nigerians especially in the Northern Zones have been receiving N5,000 monthly Stipends from FG since 2017.

2. Every beneficiary of the N5,000 has an issued ID card and all personal details captured in a book. As they disburse to you, you sign on the referenced month and they tick appropriately in their record. You have an alternative family member that can receive the money on your behalf in a situation where you're not available at the time.

3. This disbursement is done through a Federal Government program called HOUSEHOLD UPLIFTMENT PROGRAMME (HUP). One of the beneficiary in Kuje Area Council was kind enough to allow us take a Snap of his Beneficiary ID card after we assured him of keeping his identity private. See attached pictures.

4. Usually, at the beginning of the year, they do skip January disbursement and pay N10,000 by February. But this year 2020 they have not showed up.

5. They came beginning of April 2020 and started disbursement of the money. January to April money was dispensed at once (N5,000 X 4 = N20,000). This was NEVER termed Covid-19 Palliative package before them.

6. Many of them were shocked when they heard in the News and watched in the television that Federal Govt provided N20,000 Covid-19palliative package to them. To them, such News is false, as what they received and as ticked in their Cards was the usual N5,000 monthly stipends.

DEDUCTION FROM OUR VARIOUS ENQUIRIES

1. Some Nigerians, especially in the Northern part of Nigeria has been receiving N5,000 Stipends from FG since 2017.

2. Some of the Beneficiaries are not really poorest of the poor Nigerians. The process of capturing and verification is too porous and insincere and so many of those who're not supposed to be captured in the programme get squeezed themselves in. 'Nigeria thing' many of us will term this one.

3. The N20,000 payment in all the places we visited is NEVER a Covid-19 Palliative package but the long established N5,000 Monthly Stipends to poorest of the poor Nigerians.

4. The alleged N20,000 Covid-19 Palliative package by Federal Government to 2.6million Nigerians is largely unfounded and unsubstantiated. If such money was shared at all, it's obviously to a far less number . However, I stand to be corrected with tangible facts on this.

5. Some agents of Federal Govt (e.g BPE) shared food items to some residents of Abuja, FCT as Covid-19 Palliative packages. No money was shared by them, just some few food items; Yam, Rice, Beans, Superghetti, Tomatoes, etc.

6. The N5,000 monthly stipend to poorest of the poor Nigerians seems to be effective only in the Northern part of Nigerians. On this too, I stand to be corrected with tangible facts.

7. Federal Govt should come up with clear statement on how the Vulnerable Nigerians who received the alleged N20,000 Covid-19 Palliative packages were selected and possibly gazette their information for public notice. Afterall, it's our money and we should know how it was spent.
