Peterosky:
Op,the ailment you are suffering from has nothing to do with diabetes. It is more of a spiritual attack than a normal sickness and does not require doctors treatment but local treatment.
Trust me when I tell you that it's a serious medical challenge and require urgent traditional attention. I suffered the same ailment while I was about 7years old, and it took more than three years to get healing and left a serious scald on my hand. That was a fortunate one because my mum followed it up with local treatment. But one of my relatives died late last year cause of same ailment, that's because he was going from one hospital to the other and before he could realise that it's not an ailment for the hospitals, it was already late.I do not know the name of the ailment but trust me, the symptoms are exactly as you just explained.
I wish you speedy recovery as you follow my advice.
so can you recommend any place for me I'm in South South

Foreign Affairs / South Africa’s Zuma Graft Trial To Be Delayed Again: Prosecutors by deltaboyo1: 3:56pm On Sep 07, 2021
The graft trial of South Africa’s Jacob Zuma, scheduled to resume this week, will be delayed by 10 days, prosecutors announced Tuesday, following the ex-president’s placement on medical parole.

Zuma, 79, was granted medical parole on Sunday two months into a 15-month prison sentence for a corruption probe into his 2009-18 presidency.

He was due to attend a virtual court hearing on Thursday in a dragging graft case relating to an arms purchase in 1999 when he was deputy president.

But the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) on Tuesday said the upcoming hearing would serve to postpone the trial to September 20 and 21.

The delay is meant to “enable the state-appointed medical team of specialists to consider evidence in cooperation with Mr Zuma’s medical team”, it said in a statement.

Details of Zuma’s medical condition have been kept confidential. He was hospitalised from jail in early August and underwent surgery later that month.

Critics accuse the ex-president and his legal team of using delaying tactics to escape justice.

The main opposition Democratic Alliance party has accused the prison services of bias, and vowed “legal steps” to review the decision process behind the parole.

Zuma faces 16 counts of fraud, graft and racketeering related to the 1999 purchase of fighter jets, patrol boats and equipment from five European arms firms.

He is accused of taking bribes from one of the firms, French defence giant Thales, which has been charged with corruption and money laundering.

Both deny wrongdoing.

Court proceedings have been repeatedly delayed for more than a decade as Zuma’s lawyers have fought to have the charges dropped.

The trial was last postponed to September 9 pending a medical report on Zuma’s fitness.

Politics / Edo Police Confirm Killing Of Sowore's Younger Brother By Gunmen by deltaboyo1: 5:59pm On Sep 04, 2021
The Police in Edo, on Saturday confirmed the killing Mr Olajide Sowore, the younger brother to social activist, Mr Omoyele Sowore.

The police said the deceased was shot dead in Edo by gunmen in the early hours of Saturday.

He was said to have been coming from Igbinedion University, Okada, near Benin, where he was studying Pharmacy when he was shot dead on the Benin-Lagos highway.

They added that five other persons were abducted in the process.

Spokesman for the police command in the state Bello Kontongs, in a terse voice said: “In addition to killing the younger Sowore, the suspected kidnappers made away with five unidentified persons.”

According to Kontongs, the body of the deceased has been deposited at the Igbinedion University Teaching Hospital (IUTH).

“Good morning all. This is to confirm to you that suspected kidnappers at about 0645hrs along the Lagos-Benin Expressway by Isuwa kidnapped five unidentified persons.

“And in the process, they shot dead one, Sowore Felix Olajide, male, a pharmacy student of Igbinedion University Okada.

“His remains has been deposited at IUTH mortuary, Okada, while effort is ongoing to rescue the five kidnapped victims.

“Search and rescue operations are ongoing,” he added.

The Omoyele Sowore, had in a statement earlier on Saturday announced the killing of his younger brother by yet-to-be identified gunmen.

Politics / Senate Summons Minister Over Alleged Loss Of Mining Revenue by deltaboyo1: 6:43am On Sep 04, 2021
The Senate has summoned the Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Olamilekan Adegbite, over alleged poor regulation and loss of revenues in the mining sector.

This is just as its joint committees on Finance, National Planning, Gas Resources, Petroleum Upstream and Downstream, set N15 billion as target revenue for Nigeria Mining Cadastre Office (NMCO) in 2022 as against N4 billion proposed by the agency.

The joint committee at a stakeholders meeting yesterday also threatened zero budget allocation in the 2022 budget for any revenue generating agencies without a clear cut revenue profile.

Invitation extended to the minister was sequel to the failure of Director General of NMCO, Obadiah Nkom, to furnish the committee with necessary explanations over reported low revenues being generated in the sector and the menace of illegal mining across the country.

The Director General of NMCO had in his submissions before the joint committee said in 2019, N2.58 billion revenue was generated and remitted to the Consolidated Revenue Fund (CRF), which reduced to N2.3 billion in 2020 due to COVID-19 pandemic but already increasing in 2021 with N3.166 billion realised as at July this year out of the targeted N4 billion.

Expressing dissatisfaction with his submission, the Chairman of the Committee, Senator Olamilekan Adeola, as well as other members expressed concern over why such an agency could not generate revenue beyond the threshold of four to five billion Naira.

The committee chairman said: “Your submissions on revenue generation are low and not impressive at all because big companies like Dangote Cement, BUA and others, with combined yearly profits of about N5 trillion are under your purview.

“These are aside other companies carrying out illegal mining activities across the country that are not captured in your revenue generation.

“A lot of Chinese are involved in illegal mining in the country without your agency or any other one saddled with regulation of the sector doing anything as far as licensing them and monitoring their explorations in the form of collection of royalties are concerned.”

Responding, the Director General emphasised that the mandate of his office is just for licensing of firms and not collection of royalties or monitoring of illegal miners or mining.

He said: “Our revenue is strictly generated from licensing and annual service fees collected from firms. Royalties and illegal mining are not under my purview and I cannot dabble into them.”

Unsatisfied with the DG’s submission, the committee chairman in agreement with other members, ordered the Clerk of the committee to summon the Minister of Mines and Steel Development for required interface on way out of the problem in the sector particularly as regards illegal mining and low revenue generation.

Olamilekan said: “The minister will have to appear before this committee for a required interface on way out of the problem in the sector.

“As for the Mining Cadastre Office, N15 billion is now fixed as targeted revenue generation for year 2022, because you have the capacity of meeting up with that as against four of five billion you are proposing.”

He added that in stopping the yearly budget of the country from being funded by borrowings, the Finance Act will be amended to make agencies fully funded by the government to remit 100 per cent of their revenues into the Consolidated Revenue Fund, those partly funded 80 per cent of their operational surpluses.

Politics / 2023: Don’t Allow Atiku Waste Your Ticket, Group Cautions PDP by deltaboyo1: 8:50am On Sep 02, 2021
SUPPORTERS of the Peoples Democratic Party, under the aegis of PDP Action 2023, has appealed to the party to avoid repeating the mistake of wasting its Presidential ticket on former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar.

The group made the appeal in a statement titled, “Atiku Should Not Waste PDP Ticket Again,” signed by its National Chairman, Dr. Rufus Omeire, in Abuja, on Wednesday.

Omeire said, “The PDP Action 2023 warns once again, that to give Atiku Abubakar another chance as PDP Presidential Candidate is to ensure a clear defeat for PDP in 2023, and admonishes the former Vice-President of Nigeria not to deceive PDP members a second time.

“In our last Press Statement, we frowned at Atiku for abandoning PDP members by running away to live in Dubai, after the elections, shielding himself from PDP members, only for him to resurface now that the Presidential primaries are at hand.

“In his response, we are surprised Atiku claimed that his absence from Nigeria for so long was to acquire a Degree from Cambridge University.

“On the contrary, the entire country is aware that he relocated to Dubai, where he even had his highly advertised COVID Vaccination even before the vaccine was available to ordinary Nigerians.”

The group further said, “It is disingenuous for Atiku to claim that he was in school in Cambridge, London when he actually lived in Dubai.

“If he enrolled in University of Cambridge, for a part time course, he could have as well done the programme from Nigeria.”

Attempts to get a response from the Media Office of the former Vice President were futile. Calls to the mobile telephone number of the Media Adviser, Mazi Paul Ibe indicated that it was switched off.

A response to a text message sent to him was still being awaited as at the time of filing this report.

Politics / PDP To Buhari: Nigerians Not Swayed By Ministers’ Sack by deltaboyo1: 6:45pm On Sep 01, 2021
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has observed that Nigerians are not swayed by Wednesday’s sacking of two ministers
noting that the action by President Muhammadu Buhari is “a ludicrous and infective attempt to cover for his failures in office.”

Recall that Presidency announced the removal of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mohammed Nanono and his Power counterpart, Saleh Mamman in a minor cabinet reshuffle on Wednesday.

“The party calls on President Buhari and the APC to note that Nigerians are not swayed by the sack of the ministers but are eagerly awaiting the exit of the Buhari Presidency and the APC come May 29, 2023, as there is no hope in sight under their purview,” a statement issued by Kola Ologbondiyan, PDP National Publicity Secretary, said.

The PDP informed that it is investigating the real reason behind their sack “given Mr. President’s public approach to fighting corruption by “easing out” the culprits.”

The statement added: “The party however asserts that the manifest inefficiency of the Buhari administration is a product of President Buhari’s myopic and divisive approach to governance as well as the impunity and corruption deeply embedded in his administration and party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“The PDP posits that even if the best hands are recruited, they will be contaminated by incompetence, impunity, disregard to rules, divisiveness and corruption that have become the hallmark of the APC and its administration.”

Religion / Pope Scotches Resignation Talk, Plans More Foreign Trips by deltaboyo1: 6:31pm On Sep 01, 2021
Pope Francis has dismissed media reports that he might resign following his surgery earlier this year, saying in an interview broadcast Wednesday that it “didn’t even cross my mind”.

As if to prove his energy and commitment to the job, the 84-year-old announced further foreign trips, to Greece, Cyprus and Malta, and confirmed he hoped to attend the COP26 climate conference in November.

“I don’t know where they got it from last week that I was going to resign!” he told Spanish radio Cope in a wide-ranging interview, referring to media reports.

He said that “it didn’t even cross my mind” to follow the path of his predecessor, Benedict XVI, who in 2013 became the first pontiff to resign in 600 years.

“Whenever a pope is ill, there is always a breeze or a hurricane of conclave,” he added, referring to the meeting of cardinals called to elect a new pope.

Francis underwent an operation on July 4 after suffering from a type of diverticulitis, an inflammation of pockets that develop in the lining of the intestine.

Asked how he was feeling, the pope said, laughing: “I’m still alive.”

“Now I can eat everything, which was not possible before with the diverticula,” the pontiff said.

“I still have the post-operative medications, because the brain has to register that it has 33 centimetres less intestine… But besides that, I have a normal life.”

‘No script’
The pope is due to visit Hungary and Slovakia on September 12-15, and the official programme includes a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.

Asked what he would like to say to Orban, whose anti-migration views contrast with his own, Francis appeared to avoid the question.

“I don’t know if I am going to meet him. I know that authorities will come to greet me,” he said.

He added: “One of my ways is not to go around with a script: when I am in front of a person, I look him in the eyes and let things come out.”

He gave no dates for his planned visits to Greece, Cyprus and Malta, but said he was preparing for the climate talks in Glasgow.

“It all depends on how I feel at the time. But in fact, my speech is already being prepared, and the plan is to be there,” said Francis, who has been outspoken on the need to tackle global warming.

COP26 is the biggest climate summit since the 2015 Paris negotiation, which the pope said “was the summum (pinnacle) in becoming globally aware”.

“Then what happened? Fear set in,” he said.

“And slowly, in the subsequent meetings, they went backwards. I hope that Glasgow will now raise its sights a bit and bring us more in line.”

China is not easy
In his interview with radio Cope, the pope also defended the Vatican’s controversial agreement with China that allows both parties a say in appointing Catholic bishops.

“China is not easy, but I am convinced that we should not give up dialogue,” he said.

China’s roughly 12 million Catholics have for decades been split between a government-run association, whose clergy were chosen by the atheist Communist Party, and an unofficial underground church loyal to the Vatican.

The 2018 agreement, which was renewed last year, has sparked strident criticism in the United States, which said it has failed to shield Chinese Catholics from persecution.

“You can be deceived in dialogue, you can make mistakes, all that… but it is the way. Closed-mindedness is never the way,” the pope said.

“What has been achieved so far in China was at least dialogue… some concrete things like the appointment of new bishops, slowly… but these are also steps that can be questionable.”

He noted the efforts made by Cardinal Agostino Casaroli, the Vatican’s top diplomat under Popes Paul VI and John-Paul II, to build bridges with then Soviet states in eastern Europe.

“Slowly, slowly, slowly, he was achieving reserves of diplomatic relations which in the end meant appointing new bishops and taking care of God’s faithful people,” the pope said.
