Nice Vehicle.

A school is in need of such a vehicle; but I will need the VIN # especially as regards the mileage.

A 15yrs used Canadian vehicle with around 100k mileage is damn rare and I need to confirm before informing the school.

Really, you do actually believe such MOU with Naija customs do exist and want proof. Meaning you will believe anything then!!!

About 70% of Hyundai/Kia in Nigeria are Tokunbo just like other vehicle brands. Nigerians have been driving both products before Dana Motors came into the picture with the brand new version that's less equipped (some people are of the opinion they come without airbags buttressed by an accident that occurred along Awolowo Road Ikoyi some months back without any airbag deployed), and the air-conditioning system developing recurring fault after 3yrs (ask those companies using them for pool cars).

As for the "particular checkers", perhaps you were lucky to meet the incompetent ones cos no sticker can excuse customs papers especially not with this present customs.

I've been wondering why I don't come across Tokunbo Hyundai cars.

Is it that they are not sent to Africa?
or
There are no used Hyundai cars abroad?
or
Africans run away from them maybe because they are probably "bad vehicles"?

Same thing applies to Kia cars.

I'm saying this coz they look like cheaper options, but I don't know how strong they are.

Perhaps you have not been following the auto section.

A whole lot of Hyundai & Kia Tokunbo from US are sold and used in Nigeria.

I have sold over 20 of it in about a year and more might not come due to increasing demand by e-hailers (Uber Taxify etc) leading to price hike at auction.

Check my threads to see some advert of them.

Let me add you should start you search from 2007 for Hyundai and 2006 for Kia.

Elantra, Santa FE, Rio are very solid vehicles especially the American specs.

You need to take the registration documents with you to the Licensing Office to update the details of the new vehicle you just got. The registration up to March 2019 is lost actually & not useable again.

It's about #5k cheaper than getting a new plate.

The Proof of Ownership will be endorsed (back) with the new details and the other documents -allocation of number plate, vehicle license, CMR, etc- will be issued anew.


P.S: do not put the plate # on the vehicle you just got until you have done the necessary paperwork cos it's a criminal offence if done.

The auto-finance partnership with Sterling Bank ended since 2016. Anyone can easily contact Sterling Bank to hear from them via their contact platform. Perhaps Innoson Facebook handler hasn't been properly briefed or just playing to the gallery.

They might have with another financial institution (I doubt but wont want to go further into that), but definitely not Sterling Bank.

To topic, yes I've investigated and did put a call through to their office around 2016. They have the auto financing in place and it's in partnership with Sterlin Bank. Innoson Motors isn't keeping up with online marketting trends but they sure do have some good packages.

The partnership arrangement between both companies was only for 180days in 2016 which had since ended.

The success (and otherwise) of the arrangement is a story for another day
