PointB: Ikenna has gone (for good or bad I could care). But the allegation against Mukina2 is valid, and remain. Coming from a fellow MOD it's even more compelling. There is nothing beloved about Mukina2 who enjoys having various ethnic groups go at each others throat by promoting to frontpage threads whose only objective is mudslinging and bigotry.

Ikenna banned people for small slights no doubt. But what Mukina2 ought to have done in any case is to ask Ikenna to unban those wrongfully banned, not unbanning them herself. That is the wrong was to go about it.

Please, for those who hate me because i was banning them for insulting other tribes and members, please dont. Its for the best. I have met a lot of Nairalanders here in Abuja. I have become friends with many of them. They can tell you better about me. I take my dont's seriously. You maynot see what i was trying to prevent while as a moderator in Politics section, but you will someday, whether am still alive or not. Truth can never be hidden!

Of course, a lot will be happy to read this post that i have eventually left, but its all good, oneway or another.

Jarus: I was on that seat for two and half years and this is the truth:

1, Tribalism may never be stopped, whether by soft or hard approach. That is the bitter truth. I set it out as an agenda in 2010 when I was made a Mod, but I later came to the realization it may never be stopped. After all, pick a Nigerian newspaper on a typical day and read the headlines: "North declares war on GEJ", "Dokubo threatens to make Nigeria ungovernable is his Ijaw kinsman is not re-elected", "Yorubas present agenda" etc. I'm not saying mods should not try (in fact, it is their primary duty to make this place hell for tribal warriors), but totally eradicating it is impossible. That was my lesson.

2, A mod, like any leader, can never be totally popular.

3, I don't think a mod will deliberately tilt the forum in favour of any interest. I honestly don't think so. But people will always read sectional meanings to whatever he does. When I was on the seat, Desola was accusing me of being anti-Yoruba, the Igbos were accusing me of frolicking with Yorubas and protecting their interest. All these are lies, but they never worried me, because the contradiction in the accusations is enough vindication. A good mod, having satisfied himself that he is doing his job fairly, should not bother about those kinds of accusations. They are part of the job.

I have commented on his method and pointed out the need for him to co-operate with established norms and unwritten codes; well, judging from the plethora of complaints, it is fair enough to say, Ikenna hasn't changed, at least not much. But I cannot say categorically if his method is working or not. But if he doesn't get the support of Seun/super MODs, I think the reasonable thing for him to do is to resign. Tribalism is NOT easy to fight, especially in a country where ethnic affiliation is stronger than national one. Nigeria is intrinsically a tribalistic country, Ikenna chose a tough course to pursue -ending tribalism, and then he chose to do so in yet tougher way. Tough!

As for Mukina2, well, I stand by my earlier comments!

OAM4J: He was advised and warned not to moderate according to his own rules but to follow the forum rules and if he feels there is need for more rules he should make a case for it, yet he continued doing things his ways. This is not a military section, it is politics section, there is a civil way to go about things yet he will not follow that route. He has an assignment to do, when he goes overboard, those who supervise his actions have a duty to correct his errors.
