Thanks Bold babe. I appreciate ur response. I will inform him to go after am dere. But I will like to let u knw that as for now, I do not have any hospital correspondence until I get to maryland inorder to meet with the doctor personally and probably I can scan copies of documents to him to take to the embassy and Godswilling-he will be given. Thanks Nairalanders. boldbabe: My husband was given his visa after two denials. He reapplied the third time when i was preggy and was already in the states and was given. He went with all my hospital correspondences, marriage certificate, change of name e.t.c and was just asked his reason for travelling and he mentioned, it was to assist his wife for childbirth. They asked him the name of his wife and he mentioned it, the VO requested for evidence that we are married becuase my passport was in my maiden name, he showed the marriage certificate and change of name, he was asked what he does for a living and he answered. His visa was approved. |

dere5: I would advice that your husband should reapply and go for the interview just after you have gone and his reason for travelling should be that he is going to join his wife who is having a baby there. There is no big deal about it,there are people on the thread that were denied visa on 2/3 diffrent occations and were finally given ,and most of these denials were within 6months, so your husband does not have an issue. Did you say he was denied because he was going to a state where he knew no one, what happened to hotel accomodation reservation or dint he make a hotel reservation? I would advice him to try Abuja this time around, though i doubt it makes much diffrence anyway, but lets believe the ppl that say they are nicer VO'S in Abuja. If he is asked about his last interview,he should be truthful and tell them exactly what transpired thanks for the information I really appreciate |

Kindly send the email u forwarded to prince george and his secretary. Also the details in ur mail sent to dem. Thanks drafrican: Howard university hospital (fsfleur@huhosp.org) but cross check d distance with where u are staying. If you've had a complication free pregnancy n no complications with baby the estimate is $9500 all inclusive( epidural peadiatrician etc) and you are not charged extra if you come for false labour. Heard Prince george is cheaper though, but I got confused dr Akoda said estimate is about 4500-6500( his secretary) but the hospital sent me a quote of $10,000. |

Hello guys,
I need urgent advise on this. You guys have been really helpful.
My self and my child have 2yrs Visa we got in 2014, we travelled in the same year and spent 2 to 3weeks. we currently in naija. While we were dere, my hubby applied for d visa for the 1st time stating he was going for a conference for enterpreneurs in a state he knew nobody. He wasn't given d visa. This was around october lastyr.
My questn is, I would be going to deliver my baby in d US come May 2015 and would like him&my first child to join me dere close to my EDD.
Do u advise he reapply?
Should he apply again in Lagos or go through Abj?
If he's asked about the conference thing he was refused, what should he say.
I have a family there cos I went for a vacatn during my 1st visit but he failed to mention he had a family member in the US but not in the state he was going for the conference!
What documents should he take wt him and how should he answer if he his asked what he's going there for.
What should he do?
Help plsssss.
Thanks Guyz |

@ house, my POE story. Let me start by thanking every one for your contributions on this thread. Just knew about this thread 3 months ago, read all the pages registered n became part of it. I wld have started this journey long ago for all my kids if I had these 1st hand info earlier.
Got my b1/ b2 last yr with hubby n kids for summer vacation in California. Wasn't pregnant at the time. The interview in Lag was very short n the VO didn't even ask for any of burden of proof, he just saw our diff.family vacation trips in UK which were less than one month n hubby's other business trips n only asked hubby how much he tot wld be enough for the trip n that was it. I flew KLM on sunday night instead of Emirates I booked earlier from Lag n requested for aisle sits near the toilets n a wheelchair cos I know how stressful this gate to gate thing can be. Didn't bother to carry hand luggage cos I was already stressed up. Remember you are a priority passenger being pregnant so I didn't join any cue for checking n always boarded with 1st class passengers. KLM didn't ask for my fit to fly. Had a smooth journey to Amsterdam, with a bit of swollen legs cos I didn't wear my compression socks. Had few hours sleep since I usually don't sleep well during flight. freshened up, wore my compression socks this time n was wheeled to boarding gate to Houston. The officers saw my money abt 8k, ask what it was for, took me to a small cubicle, counted n let me go. On arrival to AIH at around 1: 30 pm, a lot planes landed n i cldn believe my eyes for the very long cue but thank God for the wheel chair cos I was wheeled in front n even I asked the help if I cld stand n wait to be called, she said no that I wld be asked to go back to the line. There was no swollen leg, I drank lots of water n had my little exercises
The CBP:why are you here? Me: To have my baby n a short family vacation when my family arrives. He repeated the question n i repeated my answer. CBP : who's is California? Me : hubby' cousin, called his name who we wanted to spend vacation with last summer but some projects didn't allow us. Then gave the reply from embassy where hubby asked them to update our records since I now want to use my visa for birthing. CBP :Any money on you? letter from doctor?any payment to doc. Or hospital? Me: Answered him and gave him all the docs as I arranged every thing in an envelop. These include my return tickets with that of hubby n kids showing we leave us the same day n with same airline, my statement of account n that of hubby, hubby's passport details n visa pages photocopy, doctors correspondence n bills, medical reports from my Nija doc to the doc. here with detailed print out of all the test result. Note: I took away my fit to fly. CPB: took my finger prints n asked that l shld be taken to an office for further interrogation. Hmm a lot people were sitted here oooo some looked like they have slept for hrs n still sleeping, mostly blacks (Nija )inclusive n Mexicans. The 1st officer that received my passport here finished his own typing work, dismissed the help that brought me n handed it over another officer, now a lady. I had heard this lady officer say " Nigerians, liers" n i said in my mind that she has got the wrong person today n maintain my confidence. She came n ask for my cell phones n i gave her 1 that I had n insisted I bring out others. She didn't believe that was all n threatened to search my hand bag but when I obliged her, she left with the phone.
She later called me to a separate room with another male officer after about 15 mins, having gone thru all the docs. N another round of questioning started. Are you a part of Nigerian that come here to give birth? Said no, I do not know abt any grp. Y this Nija doc. N after having your other kids in nija, y come here for this one? Said I read the doc profile on Internet n he fit in he kind I was looking for n for better health care system. Asked me if I had insurance, accommodation, why the person I was going to his house was not there to pick me, even abt my hubby'acct statement. I had genuine answers for every of their questions n this time it was an interactive one. I didn't even behave like I knew they turn people back n all that. Wrote A on my declaration form, asked me the sex of the baby am expecting, wished me luck n told me that I shld knock at her office next time I come n tell her if I got what I wanted. Asked me to go get my baggage n go to secondary inspection See their sniffing dogs every ooo, with his particular one stationed at the exist point so that if the others hadn't come to your baggage, that one wldnt miss it. It came sniffing at mine but when the officer saw my declaration form n i told him I was going for inspection, he just directed me.
@ sec, inspection, this funny Asian man was asking me for yam, knorr chicken, agbalumo n others. He scanned my baggage n their was a beep. I didn't know what cause it anyway, my question if taking palm oil is illegal was not answered but I took just a little. My box had only few clothes so it was just very easy to see the food items. He saw my soup cocoyam n seized it probably because the name has yam on the label. My oil was not seen though n that was it. Did not succeed making phone calls at the public phone boot even after getting some coins but was shown where to make free local calls at terminal E n this save me from a longer wait.
I thank God for His grace n answered prayers. Waiting for my 1st appointment with Dr FF tomorrow. |

Kindly send me the details by email. Don't know how to view it on ur profile lalavita: Hiya, If you look through my profile, you'll see a post on DMV hospital choices. I also included prices and OBGYN info including mine.
If you want the lowest price, Prince George's Hospital Center seems to be the cheapest package. A few mums here have used them. Please bear in mind this is a county hospital so they are professional but may not be the most luxurious.
@aye88 suggested Inova Alexandria and they offer a good discount.
Someone else recently mentioned Providence Hospital in DC.
All the best. |

Anyone with the Baltimore POE story. Need info ASAP. My problem is getting a hospital correspondence before leaving. Also if. I can make part payments but not compulsory, I need help with this. Some 1 help dere5: Why buy 2 weeks ticket,i want to believe its because of some kind of "promo" ,because we both know that 2wks will not cut it,you would definitly be in the states forr much more than that,so my advice to you is buy a ticket that will not make you look suspicious at poe,and also a ticket that you can change dates with minimal cost ,just in case your baby arrives early. with some of these promo tickets you have to cough out almost the price of a new ticket if the need arises for you to change dates o. So put all these into consideration when making your decision. |

Getting a hospital and doctors appointment is not a big deal now! You just need to do small research work here on this thread. Na Which citythanks for the advice,

feddy27: Ok, since I can't sleep now, lemme share my experience: 1. I flew from PH to lag, on getting to PH airport, Aero refused to fly me cos I was 32weeks+4days! Said their policy for preggies is 32weeks, like joke like joke, flight took off without me after they have even issued boarding pass! So I quickly bought arik dat has 34wks policy and got a refund from aero. Arik still had to confirm from pilot before they accepted and took my fit to travel.
2. Got to lag, no worries at all. Checked in with KLM, they didn't ask for fit to fly.Arranged passenger assistance for my gran cos she came with me. Declared my $10k cash to naija custom.
3. At Amsterdam, dey asked my purpose of traveling to the USA, told them vacation and child birth.
4. I arrived Minneapolis as planned, used fast track cos I got passenger assistance. CBP: first took my finger print + gran's own. Why are you here? Me: vacation and child birth CBP: Who is dis woman to you and wht she is here Me: My granma and to assist when baby arrives CBP: Gave my passport to an officer and asked to follow him
At Secondary inspection, I was the only one there. 5 minutes after, an officer came and called me alone. He asked the following questions:
Why are you in the USA? Vacation and child birth.
Asked for doctor's letter, presented Dr Fagbohun's letter to him, studied it extensively. Asked how much cash I had, told him $10k, asked of naira, said 580naira so he changed it to $10, 002 and declared I had above 10k. Gave me a form to fill. Asked if I told the VO my intention and I said I didn't do interview but Dropbox and so I had to send the embassy a mail of my travel intent. Asked where I work, if they were paying my bills, told him no that I'm paying for myself. Asked about my husband, his job and others.
The whole session took like 30mins cos he was seriously typing and I think the system was kinda slow too. He didn't bother counting my cash. Asked how much my gran has and what she came to do in d US and who brought her. After all, he stamped us B2 for 6 months and advised that I keep all receipts. Our bags were not searched.
The whole process made me miss my connecting flight to Houston and Delta rescheduled at no extra cost.
Lessons learnt: Be confident and straight forward. Every little counts like informing the embassy. I didn't get the regular response only auto response but I was fine because there is an evidence that I informed them.
A very special thanks to members of this thread for your unreserved way of sharing information. God bless you all that answered NICELY when questions where asked especially Prolify ! She's such an amazing virtual friend ! Led me all through from Dropbox application up until POE ! God bless you dearie and your lil one. Thanks to Tvegas for his comprehensive guide. It is really helpful.
Oya lemme try to sleep, still need to sort out accommodation. I'll share when I'm done too. how many weeks ticket did you buy. Every 1 is saying buy two to three weeks and I am preggy. I dnt have any doctors appointment nor letter to d embassy. Help. Can't even lie |
