Please is there anyone that landed recently with a child who is an American citizen without writing IRCC and also didn’t mention during application that he or she will be coming with the child? Before now I know you don’t need any authorisation since the child does not need a visa but I don’t know what is obtainable now . I have a study permit approved and want to travel with my 5 years Son who is an American citizen. Any advice please ? Thank you all.

I don’t have a child who is an American citizen nether did I land recently, but I know you should have applied with your child as accompanied child or something , because your child needs to show a study permit or something for school registration. As an American citizen the child can enter canada and stay for 6 months without a visa as a visitor nothing more . Your child will have no status or anything , so I think it’s better you apply for your child’s visa ASAP . I knew people with PR who had kids that were American citizens the kids did not need visas to enter but there were part of the PR application and got PR .

Got this on one of my groups for those interested

*NNC SECURES PASSAGE FOR STRANDED NIGERIANS*.

Fellow NNC members,

About a week ago, it was brought to NNC that there are PRs and COPR holders stranded in Nigeria, who desire to come to Canada. Amongst them are those whose immigrant visas would expire as soon as next week. We requested for more information.

On the 4th of May, we received specific information in this regard and swiftly moved into action. The following offices were immediately contacted:

1. Nigerian High Commission, Ottawa, NHC.
2. Canadian High Commission, Abuja.
3. Mayor of Brampton.
4. Member of Parliament, Brampton Center.
5. Member of Parliament, Brampton West.
6. Global Affairs Canada, GAC.

We got responses from all offices, but the key leads were from the GAC and NHC, who outlined relevant paper work to be submitted and arranged for immediate evacuation respectively.

With hundreds of Nigerians back at home, as well as Nigerians here unable to return home, an Air Peace flight was procured yesterday, May 7, via private arrangement with capacity to lift 274 people at a cost of $1134 pax. It is a direct flight from LOS to YYZ and then to YYC, with a return part to ABJ, scheduled for May 14.

This arrangement sparked interest amongst the Nigerian Community and as at now, there's a wait list of 119 people also stranded in Nigeria. We are currently in talks with the NHC, Air Peace and the representative of the stranded Nigerians to get a larger Boeing 777 aircraft that can take more people, while working on a possible second flight for the growing stranded travellers. More information about this will unfold tomorrow morning.

In the meantime, we hold our immediate constituency dear to heart, so accept this as a notice to you to contact anyone you know who's stranded back home and waiting to come to Canada. They should fill the form below to get on the wait list, while we continue to work out modalities for an airlift for everyone. There is no guaranty that filling this form equals a seat on a plane, but it is a positive first step.

https://forms.gle/NGbmRLq4H7RdYrgB6

NNC is doing everything it can to help get our brothers and sisters home. We will keep you updated.

Uche Okugo.
President,
NNC.

Hi eveeyone. I have tried creating a CRA account to no avail. Landed September last year and I keep getting the same error message, we cannot proceed with your request. Has anyone had this issue before and how did you go about it. Thanks

You can’t create the account until you have filled your tax and your details are with CRA.

Please why is BA showing missing authorisation to travel to Canada when i attempted to check in online despite having a PR card?

Please has anyone experienced such before? I hope it isn't going to pose a problem when i get to the airport today.

How did you buy your ticket ? Did you use a credit card? If you did try and get authorization from the owner of the credit cards before you travel . If not you risk having your flight canceled

there’s nothing like ‘I didn’t qualify for visa at that tome’. This is the same visa students get easily talk more of a PR. You shd know your rights. Green card holders are allowed freely here without visa so why shdnt we? I’m sure it’s a vendetta against Nigerians because the bad eggs among us cross the border illegally and as a result immigration minister had to go down to Nigeria because of the issue and advised the US embassy to reduce the visa quota they give to Nigerians. People’s visas are being cancelled and those that have travelled once can’t even travel again with the same visa. I’m sure the officer was clearly
acting on instructions if not, why would she also deny a married pregnant PR lady? I rest my case.

I dont believe they are acting on any instruction. I had my visa interview yesterday , with my husband and my 2 children and we were given no documents were asked and we have been here for just a year . They just asked to see our previous US visa and in less than 2 mins were out of there

Hello. Please can someone assist with this situation.

I received PPR last week and my sent my passports to Accra this morning.

1. Hubby and I intend to arrive in Canada about 3 days to the expiry of our medicals. Is this too close to the deadline?

2. We plan to do a soft landing first. We intend to stay for only about a week in Toronto. Is this time enough for the post arrival procedures especially the application for our PR cards.

3. We intend to leave Toronto to America to birth our child. Will it be an issue that our baby is born after COPR and after our first landing but before our PR cards are issued? Is this something to declare? From what I understand, there's nothing to declare if it is after you arrive Canada for the first time. And I don't think it is a sin to be PR of Canada and go to America to deliver but I have heard some comments so please help.

4. By God's grace for our final landing next year, we would have had our PR cards with us. But our baby will have a US passport and Nigerian passport. How do we go about processing our baby's Canadian documents?

P.S. We have considered delivering in Canada but it will be more expensive and we do no have family to assist the way we do in the US. In the US, the doctor is family and we have free accommodation so basically we're paying just the hospital fees and we have loads of family in the same area to help out. In Canada, the medicals may be free but we will be paying for EVERYTHING else i.e. accommodation, food, moving around, and no family to help.

Also, we cannot declare change in family configuration until the child is born which will be after COPR, after our first landing and aafter our application for the PR cards but before our final landing.

But don’t forget that once you land even if it’s soft landing you will have to sponsor your baby to come into Canada . The baby having a American Passport does not give her the right to be a PR in Canada

hmmmm. To the best of my knowledge, full day schools end at 3:30pm and they often go to school on alternate fridays as well. I am not sure if 4 yr olds do full day pre k in Ontario but you can confirm.

Full day kindergarten starts from age 4 in Ontario

[quote author=vcole post=50473408]@Fusion, add your degree certificate (s) , ielts trf and eca...all scanned copies of the originals merged into one pdf file and upload under the slot for education. There is no separate slot for them and the eAPR does not specifically request for them but I guess it's good to upload them just in case.

Someone asked about Qlife, I have no idea but I do know that IOM is more expensive than the Children's and Consultant's practice clinic.

Thanks i was the person who asked about Qlife have called them and gotten the informaton

When you checked it at ceac apart from showing issued did it show your visa is at final processing? If it did then it should be at the dhl office you submitted it by tommorw .

I did track it. It showed:

Issued
Application ID or Case Number: AA005WC***
Case Creation Date: 26-Apr-2016
Status Updated Date: 28-Apr-2016

I'm just worried about going back to school for my exams. I was told 4-7 working days. I'm surprised at the delay.
Then try tracking it with USA travel docs to know if it is with dhl

Hi house,
I recently came to Nigeria to renew my USA B1/B2 visa all the way from Ukraine through Dropbox. I submitted since two weeks ago and I am yet to hear anything from the embassy or DHL I have called the embassy twice and I was told to wait. Now the issue on ground is, I am supposed to be back to school for my final exams this month and I have to leave Nigeria this week. Is there anyway I can get my passport back from the embassy with or without the visa? Because right now, I'm more than worried. I have been having sleepless nights and so on. Please is there anybody in the house that has had similar experience and please what do you suggest I do best? I have to be out of the country latest by Friday this week. Please help... All candid opinions are welcome. Gracias!

it take about 15 days now so you should be getting it about now or better still try and track it at ceac.state.gov/ceac for you to have an idea of what stage they are in the process

It's the same thing, FSW is now being applied for via Express Entry. Also all provinces have access to previous applications in any stream (in Canada) even if you applied a million years ago.

FSW 2014 is different from express entry . He was not nominated by any province. In the generic form that he filled he was asked to filled the province he wants to stay and in filled Ontario . He can decide to stay any where since he is going through the FSW route and not the PNP route which tends to restrict one. Also once h gets his COPR his destination will be written as Ontario but note that it's where he lands first that will be is Point of entry . So if he takes a flight and the flight had a stop over at Calgary, he gets down and goes through customs Calgary will be where he will get his landing details down not Ontario . Thats the beauty of FSW you can go and land anywhere except Montreal

Hello house,

Please I have a question before I get ITA in my EE account.
I have two children and my uncle's daughter also lives with us for five years on.
She has been a blessing, my children's best friend and has seriously improved academically.
I have a great moral obligation to see her maximize her potential. Can't leave behind.
Now my question is, what documents do I need to add her in my application?

Do I need adoption papers or court affidavits stating she's my dependent?
I just don't want her to return to the village because I can afford to take her along.
Kindly assist gurus in the house.
It's better if you go about it lawfully Canada will not take any affidavit . You have to go to the ministry of youth and sports development to start the process of the adoption and it's better you start now as its a time consuming process and you must also make sure you have a letter of consent from the parents when submitting your documents as they will definitely ask for it

Had to call ups here and was told there was an airport strike in Germany. I don't know what to do thats the only thing delaying the application.Should we tell WES. send another valuation with another courier ?
