Danikcm: Well I already made a comment earlier, I filed in october, medical and biometric got updated in November. My review began December, but I haven't gotten a notification since then Hmmm, that's the way this Canada waka be o..... What you have to do now is to start sending emails and webforms to IRCC to let them know you application has passed the standard processing time. At the same time, it would be advisable to order your GCMS note or mail a Member of Parliament(MP) to help enquire about the status of your application. Lastly, You GATS pray wella. God will help all of us. |

Time2soar1: Hallelujah! God has done it. Got PPR today after almost 10 months
Timeline
First application refused January 29th 2021
Second application submitted May 22nd 2021 Eligibility started May 31st 2021 Ghost update June 3rd 2020 Medical expires August 2021 New medical updated to pass September 2021 Correspondence letter March 3rd 2022 PPR March 3rd 2022 Age over 50 years
First refusal reason was purpose of study and personal assets and finance. In my reapplication, for purpose of study I used sub categories in my statement of purpose such as introduction, why the program, why the school and a specific section on the purpose and benefit of the study. Though I stated all this in the first application I emphasis it more in the second application
Most importantly I prayed to God for the approval. I give God all the glory because after the first refusal I almost gave up because I though age is against me. More so, I have two Masters degree already and I am going for another Master program but I committed it into God hand and He came through for me.
While waiting I requested GCMS twice but nothing was in them, eligibility shows "review required"
I hope this encourage someone. Congratulations sir!! |

Nickoko: I kept hearing people talk about complex application and I am wondering what are the criteria to consider an application simple or complex. Complexity of an application can be caused by additional security and background clearances due to your citizenship, ties to specific countries, or field of study. These additional clearance checks may take several weeks to several months to process. And also the verification of your statement of account, different things sha. |

Toceenay: The fact that we are seeing faster processing time from the new portal doesn't mean it's a straightforward ticket to PPR... Or are you thinking there are no rejections? Exactly! People would have used the new portal and still gotten refused. Your documentation also matters whether you used new portal or GC Key, even the faster processing time, that's if your application isn't complex. I'm sure there are people who have used the new portal since November and haven't gotten a decision, just because we don't see or hear of it doesn't mean it isn't happening. Make everyone calm down. The PPR go reach all of us.... |

mama12345: Good news guys, my PPR just came in at 7:46am this morning. It can only be God, I am still in shock. My story is a special one, my Bachelors is Law, I have an LLB, BL (Law School), and Masters in International Business, but I applied for Diploma, not even Post Graduate Diploma, but Diploma in Digital Business Management. I wasn't even aware of this forum when I applied in September, I just followed a YouTuber (Noel Abingwa) and learnt the steps and documents needed when applying for my visa through one of his Videos. I contacted him and he was kind enough to share his statement of purpose/ letter of explanation with me. As I started getting anxious, I decided to join this forum 30th December and it was so encouraging because I kept getting alot of support, more especially from @Makano.
I got this message below from Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship's Office, on the 18th of February 2022
IRCC records confirm that your application was received on September 6, 2021, and is being processed at the Canadian visa office in Nairobi. Criminality checks and medical examination results are passed, however, further review is required before an eligibility decision is made. This means that the case is no longer straightforward and will, in most situations, lead to additional delays in processing. Once a decision has been made, officers will be in a position to determine next steps in processing
Thank you for answering my questions, more especially in the past two days after the message I got above.
@Makano encouraged me that "If truly you are truthful with your application and you didn't hide any information from them, then expect a positive decision from them"
Thank you @PatrickOkunima @olasubomy @mrprolifik @VIKKYIFE @Teemenzo @Time2soar1 @Predator188 who helped give me answers to my posts as well.
I even ordered for GCMS notes on the 4th of January but its still not out.
My Time Line
Submission/AOR 6th September 2021 Medicals Passed 25th October 2021 1st Ghost update November (Not sure of exact date) 2nd Ghost update 24th January 2022 3rd Ghost update 19th February 2022 Passport Request 21st February 2022
My application took a total of 168 days , 5months, 15 days. I DID NOT USE AN AGENT
God did it for me. I cannot thank God enough. It can only be God Congratulations!!! |

Cease: Thank you God. I just can’t express my feeling. My mouth is full of praises for hours, I have dance, cry, laugh, jump. I’m short of words, God finally came through. Since June 5th last year, first time applicant. It’s finally out. Thanks everyone, I can’t lie the wait is not easy. It got to a stage I deleted my Nairaland page just to relax my brain. Thanks everyone from mr. Anon to everybody that has been keeping this page busy, your words of encouragement is really worth it. The good news will definitely go round for each and everyone of us. emmalextemtop: No; you don't need to pay anything to get your full offer unless there are slight academic issues on your Transcript which i doubt as a Nigerian Graduate.
You will be issued your full letter of acceptance if you pass the admission processes/requirement's but to take hold/maintain/secure that seat of admission in your program, then you have to pay the stipulated tution fee within a month and to also show commitment... mostly first semester fee for a start.
Nagode! It will end in praise for us all. Oh I guess I misunderstood his question, you submit your transcript and if you meet your admission requirement you would be issued letter of acceptance... No need to pay before you are issued admission letter... |

PatrickOkunima: Please, I have a couple of questions for those attending Algonquin College.
1. How long does it take to get LOA after application?
2. Is one required to pay tuition before receiving the unconditional LOA? I think 4-6 weeks.... There's always a 30 days deadline to pay 1st semester tuition... I am not attending Algonquin college, so you can wait for other answers... |
