If he can take the french exams and get nclc 7 across all bands, there's hope for pnp in certain provinces. Ontario, for instance, has a french speakers stream for pnp (you must have a crs score of at least 400 to be considered for any stream). The French draws used to have cut off far below 400 but the last one had a cut off of 410. It may still come down..

He runs his own business so he should search and see what noc he can fit into. In the past, people have been able to claim work experience from their own business. Go through previous threads or search to see who it has worked for. Also, ensure he is able to meet the 67/100 eligibility for express entry with the diploma
Bro, I just PM'd you. I'll need your expertise. Thanks in advance.

Hello,
I'm new here. I have a youngie who would like to go to Canada. He's in Ivory Coast but he's planning on coming to Nigeria to start the process. He has a C.E.P.E (Equivalent to Nigerian School Certificate). He owns shops. He's into spare parts. So, obviously, he hopefully intends to do menial jobs as a non-skilled individual over there. I need your guidance. Thanks
Travel / Hon. Tunji-Ojo A Nigerian Embassy is trying to undermine your efforts by demsy21(m): 4:31pm On Apr 25
@Hon. Tunji-Ojo
Minister of Interior, Federal Republic of Nigeria

I don't know if you are on this platform. I'd like to call your attention on the fraudulent happenings at Nigerian Embassies. To be specific, the Nigerian Embassy in Côte d'Ivoire.
Going straight to the point, my elder brother is a legal resident in Ivory Coast for some years now. He went to the said embassy for renewal of international passport. Due to the nature of his job, as he is into the movie industry there. He travels from time to time. As a matter of fact, he followed all E-passeport procedures online.

However, when he got there, an official told him he still has to fill the form again on paper. After a whole lot of arguing, back and forth, they later allowed him to go for data capturing.
Up to now, he received no notification, no paper of evidence, no date for collection, nothing-nothing.
Three weeks down the line, he has been visiting the consulate nonstop without direction, result and hope. Honorable, kindly look into this matter.
Please dear nairalanders, if you can relate to this kind of maltreatment in any of our embassies outside the country. Speak Up!

Addendum: Nigerian citizens living in Ivory Coast are not allowed to enter the embassy premises. They are always being attended to at the entrance (gate) no matter the purpose of their presence. This is disrespectful to say the least.
Disclaimer: Pictures below for illustration. But, that is the actual place being referred to.

Enough of this delay tactics. If the government really wants to dispense these funds. They shouldn't be saying the same thing with different statements at each 15 days intervals. This is nothing else but pure deceit when you know that people are suffering in this country.

I will like the donor to choose the remaining 6 guys so we round up this current gifting.
The donor should kindly help and overlook the requirements set before. In these trying times, humanity should prevail. The suffering currently being experienced by young people just like me should be considered. We are all humans and we all make mistakes too.

I somehow understand why.
It would be stressful and unprofessional to take individual files to the office of the VC for approval but Omo... December till now don tey small o!

I hope your guy is assured because if your guy picks it up and the school moves on to the next level without your file, then returns to inform you that he couldn't sort it out, that would cost you more.
No, sorry to say. You misread what I wrote. I'm saying my school approved my indemnity form. And they still keeping it with other people's own for a long time. Now, I sent my guy to beg them that since they have already approved it, they should please allow him take the indemnity form to jamb office himself on my behalf. Since they're delaying unnecessarily. By now, it's supposed to be at jamb level for uploading. But my school is piling up indemnity forms for months.

Meanwhile, age is not on my side. All this delay tactics is affecting students' chances being enlisted for NYSC. What do you suggest I should do in this situation?

Honestly, I don't know anyone. At the state office, if you observe well, you might meet the guy/man that can help you for small change.
If you see crowd there, just observe well and find the person you think you can talk to man-to-man. It can be the security guy or an officer. Just code it. I'm sure you know how to find your way around it.
I later got in touch with two people. One at jamb office, the other one went to my school. I discovered that from the jamb insider my indemnity form is still in school. Findings reveal that the school is piling up and keeping indemnity forms from December to now. Is that not wickedness? I told my guy to plead with them to release it to him, he'll go and submit it by himself at jamb office. They refused saying if that is the case, anybody can come and collect it. That it is not done that way. Is this not wickedness

I don't think uploading across the 4 stages takes up to a year now. They've improved on that to some extent.

What you can do is follow-up...
Follow-up at the office you submitted at school.
Follow-up at the JAMB office (State)

Funnily enough, you can get lucky to have it uploaded on the day you lodge your complaint about delay in approval from their (State) office, but then, you didn't start the process with them.

Some staff won't take you serious because you didn't do it at their office. However, there's always a way around it, you gerrit?
As in cough up some mints, you mean? If yes, please, do you know an insider that can help?
By the way, I PM'd you. You are yet to reply my mail. Thanks

The advice they usually give is to do the application at the JAMB office in the same state as the school.
I really hope the people at Ilorin helps you out without delaying you any further.

Lagos is not the right office to approve your application at the State Level.
This uploading of a thing is taking much time o. I read about some people in the same situation as mine that it took them a lot of time (months, a year, etc...). Even at that, their indemnity was left untouched by jamb office. What can I do to get it done asap?

Your institution takes a few days.
State and Abuja should be completed in a month. It depends anyways.
I applied for regularization at ikoyi jamb office, after submitting all where necessary, my school approved. Right now, it's stuck at state office jamb Ilorin unit. Now, is it possible to get it uploaded at the ikoyi unit?
Reasons: 1) I'm back in Lagos. Transportation stress and fare (too expensive).
2) I called an official working at Ilorin, they seem not to have found my indemnity form even when I confirmed from my school that it was sent to jamb same state office.
Thanks for your response

I have been thinking about this for a long time on the issue of e-transmission. What if INEC get in touch with Elon Musk so that he can deploy some of his hardwares plus making his satellites available for rural areas internet connections. We all know telcos masts don't cover length and breadth of the country. It would be really a pace setting moment in the history of elections results delivery on the black continent.

One thing I know is many Tinubu haters are now pretending to give him good advice on this forum. Hoping he'll make choices that will further shrink his winning chances. Likewise, but at a lesser rate for Atiku's projections. It's very easy to see through cunning, except you think we're toddlers over here.

Business / Re: Vehicle Importers Kick As Customs Implements ECOWAS Common Tariffs by demsy21(m): 8:01pm On Jun 02, 2022
ChimondGlobal:
Vehicle importers kick as Customs implements ECOWAS common tariffs.

The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has commenced the implementation of the new version of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Common External Tariff, (CET) 2022-2026 on imported vehicles.

According to the NCS, the migration from the old CET (2017-2021) to the new version, which is in line with the World Customs Organisation (WCO), takes immediate effect.

In a statement, yesterday, the Customs spokesman, Timi Bomodi, said the new rates apply to both new and used vehicles imported into the country. New and used vehicles are subjected to a National Automotive Council (NAC) levy of 20 and 15 per cent respectively.

The Service also confirmed the reduction of import duty on imported vehicles from 35 to 20 per cent.

The statement reads: “The nation has adopted all tariff lines with few adjustments in the extant CET. As allowed for in annex II of the 2022-2026 CET edition, and in line with the Finance Act and NAC, NCS has retained a duty rate of 20 per cent for used vehicles as was transmitted by ECOWAS with a NAC levy of 15 per cent.

“New vehicles will also pay a duty of 20 per cent with a NAC levy of 20 per cent as directed in Federal Ministry of Finance letter… It is instructive to note that domestic fiscal policy on the importation of motor vehicles and other items is targeted at growing the local economy in these sectors. The focus of NCS is on the implementation of these policies in the hope that they achieve their desired objectives in line with the National Automotive Policy and other fiscal policies of government.

“The NCS has also activated the use of Chapters 98 and 99 of the CET, following WCO recommendation for national use by contracting parties, which in our case promotes industrialisation through sectoral and sub-sectoral incentives for members targeted at economic growth, enhancement of security and minimised consumption of unwholesome goods.”

Customs noted that “bonafide assemblers, manufacturers of auto spare parts and other local manufacturers enhance technology transfer and skill acquisition, create jobs and increase per capita income”, hence the creation of the NAC levy.

“In Chapter 98 of the current CET – bonafide assemblers importing completely knocked down (CKD) and semi-knocked down (SKD) are to enjoy a concession of zero per cent and 10 per cent duty rate respectively. While within ECOWAS, duty rates for the same items are five per cent and 10 per cent respectively. Incentivising their efforts through policy interventions guarantees a win-win situation for the nation in the long run,” it stated.

Reacting, customs broker and ship agent, Prince Olayiwola Shittu, warned that poorly developed policies cannot have a positive impact on national growth.

“NCS’ job is to implement the Federal Government’s policies. When the government continues to take a wrong turn, the economy suffers. Policy somersaults result in negative economic performance.

“At a time like this, we expect our leaders to step in diligently. Meanwhile, they take combative steps rather than engage the right authority and present genuine concerns,” he said.
