Slavery at its peak!!! I wonder when the people of Kogi State will emancipate themselves from mental slavery.

"The path to mental freedom is through conscious upgrading of the mind through focused thought and actions. Every breakthrough in the history of the world started with a breakthrough in thinking". Nigerians need a mind revolution.

It's not a place of veneration for muslims. If it was, they wont have destroyed what was left of the temple. Mind you, the temple or that site doesn't belong to Abraham but the children of Israel.
It wasn't destroyed by Muslims. The first and second temples had been destroyed at an earlier date, and the site was lying in desolation. In fact constructions on the site by Muslims came later. "Almost immediately after the Muslim conquest of Jerusalem in 638 CE, Caliph 'Omar ibn al Khatab , disgusted by the filth covering the site, had it thoroughly cleaned and granted Jews access to the site".
Note: I didn't say the site belongs to Abraham.
...I will like to know what was left of the temple that was destroyed by Muslims?

What was on that site centuries before mohammad was born?

Be honest with yourself, it was the Jewish temple that was on that ground long before mohammad.
Yes though; the temple of the Mount...and became a place of veneration, like I started earlier...a place of veneration for both Muslims and Jews, who all trace their origins to the patriarch Abraham who is identified in both Jewish and Islamic tradition.

Even though the Mosque was a later development, but it was only built on al-Masjid al-Aqsa, (the sacred sanctuary) a site which had for long been venerated even before the mosque itself.
Foreign AffairsRe: Trump Recognizes Jerusalem As The Capital Of Israel by DengXioping(m): 8:57am On Dec 07, 2017
alBHAGDADI:
The mosque never existed. Mohammad was only telling fables. The mosques was built years after Mohammad had died, which was when the ottoman Empire captured Jerusalem. They captured the city and quickly built that mosque in the site where the temple was and named it in honor of Mohammad's phantom travel to heaven.

Muslims should stop lying cos we know the facts.
Can you kindly feed us with the unadulterated facts pls?

Please don't mind these silly comments of nairaland. Sometimes I wonder how some people reason. I always knew Trump will bring nothing but trouble to USA and the world. World wars are normally started by people like Trump. So far, only Netanyahu is in support of Trump. Yet many Nigerians feel Trump made a brilliant move. I feel the Jewish-palestine crisis was close to being resolved and now the whole thing has been set back.
A very very dumb move. Trump has clearly proven to be a disaster when it comes to handling foreign policy. First is his poor handling of the North Korean issue, now is the Middle East crisis. Should he go on with this move, the attainment of global peace will be shattered, and what I see is another festering Arab-Israeli War, which will have devastating consequences.

All the information was delivered to me by Atum already. I can write everything from now till 100 years without pausing if possible, but I have to kip pausing to decode the hard codes and languages they come with, hence the delay in the completion of the DOCTUFOS. You'll still find it in the DOCTUFOS anyway, as it hasn't reached the sizable/standard volume yet.
I have been reading all your posts of recent, and there is no doubt that your writings are that of an enlightened mind; and no matter how we look at it in terms of context and context it points to the fact that there is some premodial force acting as an inspiration to you...My question here however is on the question of Atum who you claimed delivers all the information to you, I will like you to tell me a little bit about Atum. Is he the Egyptian god who is acclaimed as the god of preexistentence and post-existence, as well as the solar god? If he is, then I will like to know if he was the one who has earlier inspired the Egyptian Pyramid texts (the Coffin texts and the Book of the Dead); I see a somewhat similar style in flow of your writings to that contained particularly in the Book of the Dead which I have read, and there are references to Atum...I will also like to know if these texts as aforementioned serve as inspiration to your write ups.
I await your response. Many Tnx.

Why was it removed in the first place?
It wasn't removed officially at the senior levels, but fizzled out at the junior levels following the 1969 National Curriculum Conference which led to the introduction of the 6-3-3-4 education system which introduced Social Studies as an alternative and led to the elimination of history at the primary and junior secondary levels. So officially history at the primary and junior secondary levels was crammed into Social Studies. This development also was to affect history at the senior secondary levels leading to its eventual effacement unofficially.

They should model the history topics to make it more relevant. More attention should be given to political history with the aim of improving our political culture.

Ethnic/cultural history to be tought without bias or projecting one culture above another. Historical mistakes should also be pointed out when or where necessary and right approach/action be informed in case of present or future occurance.

This is to say, the sole purpose for history should be to inform the present in order to correct or shapen the future.

History shouldn't be limited to mongo park or lugard era. Events after independence and our political and social developments should form a major part of the history topics.

Stop teaching my children how the white man colonize the black man, making him keep looking inferior thereby, subjecting him to low self exteem.
True, and this has led to the recent clamour for changes in the curriculum by some academics in Nigerian history who have continually questioned the relevance of our present school history.

This is definitely a good move. Too many people online are trying to rewrite history, and most people believe anything they read online. With this, at least the kids will get to know the real unbiased history of their country.
I concur.

Why did they scrap it earlier?
History Subject is indispensable in the school's curriculum as it makes the student acquainted with the past and history of Nigeria and Africa as a whole.
The children need to be taught how Ojukwu Deceived the igbos which led to their massacre during the civil war of 1967
There is more to the Ojukwu debacle if one wants to be objective at least to some extent...there were many intrigues at play as at then.

Wait oo.......was history scraped before? Cos last time I was in secondary school history was a subject shocked
It was in the curriculum for long, though very irrelevant, but was finally officially expunged I think in the 09/10 school year.

Who is going to write it, is it the people who witnessed the said events or people who the stories were told?

It is very annoying to later realise that the same names you will read in the history of events that happened decades ago are still in power. The same people who will see it unrealistic for youths to gain political power because of reasons best known to them.

I think the tales would still be biased, because it has always been one-sided.
That's still the major problem plaguing history. The issue of objectivity.

Laudable development. For we historians, its finally time for us to take our place, and for Nigeria it will bring about meaningful changes.

Hi, guys i really can't explain were the problem came from, i read my ass out, i even did midnight reading buh in the exam hall i always forgot what i read, am doing 11 courses and am not even sure of passing more than 2 courses, the first day i stepped my leg into the school gate, i didn't like the school, a new federal university in one village like that, the school have a low tolerance of exam malpractise, u can't even sort any lecturer, i heard the school doesn't tolerate low cgpa and am afraid of being expelled because of low cgpa, i did very poorly in the exam, the school spaced everybody doing the exam period, i planned to find out from a jujuman what is wrong with me, i need help, my parents spent a lot of money on me i can't afford to let them down

Cc.lalasticlala
Its just your first semester, so you still have a long way to go. You only need to restrategize. Perhaps your problem lies in the fact that you often overstretch your reading limits. Find out what works for you.
Take my case for example, I studied history back then in one of Nigeria's first generation universities. I started with a very poor result during my first semester, second semester was slightly better. Seeing my poor grades made me restrategize my reading methods. I realized that my problem was I couldn't read for long hours unlike other colleagues when I read for long hours before exams, I end up forgetting almost everything. So what I did was that after every lecture I read the course notes and related materials of every course often carrying extensive research on the topics, skimming and sweeping through for an hour or two daily. Such method equipped me strongly before exams thus before exams there was no need for me to carry out extensive reading. Well my method paid eventually as I ended up with a very commendable grade on graduation.
You have the potentials to make the best out of your studies irrespective of your present predicament or what you think. You need to rediscover your reading strengths and weaknesses and see how you can utilize them to make the best. Find out what works for you. We've all got varying ways of achieving results, all you need do is to think inwards and rediscover yours. You need to discover and adopt your own reading strategies; it will help you a lot.
